Chapter 12

It was Saturday afternoon, I was reading while sipping on my ice tea. There is nothing like a Saturday afternoon listening to nothing but nature surrounding you. I flipped the page and took another sip of my drink, inhaling the smell of nature. The book im reading was about a father who was trying to find out what happen to his daughter. He goes to this shack and meets Jesus, God, and the holy spirit. Even know I'm gay, I still like to enjoy some religion novels.

Ring Ring Ring

I looked at my phone and it was an unknown caller, I flipped open my phone answered.

"Hello" I waited for a reply but no one spoke.

"Hello? Anyone there?"

"Hi, its umm Spencer"I smiled and set down my book, I leaned forward and ran my hands through my hair.

"Hey Spencer, how are you?"

"I'm good, umm I hope this is okay." I smiled and nodded, even know she couldn't see me.

"Ya, yes its fine. Ah is there something you needed?"

"I was wondering if you could maybe give me a ride to town, im almost done this painting and I ran out of paint. If you can't its fine I understand, I'm sorry.."I laughed at her rambling.

"Spencer, its fine. Give me a few and I'll come pick you up okay?"

"Okay, thank you Ashley"

"Anytime Spencer"

I clicked my phone shut and smiled, something about this girl was making me smile and I couldn't stop it. I haven't felt like this in a long time, it felt good that's all I know. I picked up my book and glass, and went inside my house. Making sure to put my book back on the shelve for another day, and my glass in the sink.

Ring Ring Ring

"Hello" I was in my own little world that I didn't even think about looking at the screen to see who it was.

"Ashley, its your aunt Ruth, are you still coming over tomorrow for dinner dear?" I smiled and turn to grab my keys by the table.

"Ya aunt Ruth I'll be there"

"Will you be bringing your friend?" I stopped as I got to my jeep.

"What friend are you talking about?"

"That girl that you have helped out, the Reverend told me about how you been helping her for the past few days" I shooked my head and started up my jeep.

"I think it will just be me"

"Okay dear, but feel free to bring her if you want." Again I nodded even know no one could see me.

"Thank you, I'll see you tomorrow night Aunt Ruth." I clicked my phone shut and put my jeep in drive.

My aunt Ruth is one of those stay at home house wifes, all she does is cook and clean most days. Sometimes my uncle will need her help up at the barn with milking cows so she will help with that. My uncle spends his morning doing all his farming chores then when he can he will help out at the hardware store. My grandparents had the farm since they moved here and my uncle Jack couldn't give it up, so he does both.

I pulled into spencer driveway, I slowed down and turned off my engine. When I got out I could hear music coming from the barn where Spencer does her painting. I decided that she wouldn't have heard or saw me drive in so I walked over. I couldn't help but smiled when I saw her painting so serious, it was like she was in a whole other world.

"Spencer"I felt bad scaring her but it would have happen either way.

"Oh Ashley, you scared me. Let me change and we can head out, thank again for driving me"

"Ya sure, take your time" she turned and walked towards the house, turning around to give me a smile.

I walked over to my jeep and leaned against it, I looked around and noticed how this place was surrounded by trees. I could see how beautiful it will look in the winter, all the snow hanging from the pine trees.

I walked through the snow as I looked up at all the snowflakes falling down from the sky, it was the perfect night to take a walk. I stood still with my head in the air, closing my eyes and letting the snow fall on my face. I inhaled the cold air and let it relax me, I fell back into the snow and layed down on my back. I don't know what it was but I was very relaxed.

"Ash, its freezing out here!" I laughed and open my eyes to close them again as the snowflakes fell on my face.

"Sshhh relax"

"Ashley! Get your ass up and get inside now!" I shooked my head and let my eyes rolled back into my head

"Ashley! Ashley!" I could feel her shake me but I couldn't care, I felt so free and I didn't want it to stop.

"Ky, its amazing"I open my eyes and looked at her, my smiled dimmed as I saw tears on her cold cheeks. I sat up and slowly wipped them with the back of my hand.

"Whats wrong Ky" she shooked her head and looked at me.

"You can't keep doing this Ash, your going to disappear forever on me" I shooked my head and took her face in my hand.

"I'll never leave you ky, you know that" I leaned forward and gently took her lips in mine. She pulled back and leaned her forehead on mine, holding onto my shoulder with one hand.

"You already started disappearing, I'm just afraid I won't get to say good bye" I looked at her in the eyes, and I could see her soul. It was full of warmth and love, it was full of passion…passion for God.

I open my eyes to the sound of my name being called, I turned and saw Spencer standing on her porch. I smiled at how beautiful she was, the sun made her hair shine.

"You ready?" she nodded and starting walking towards the jeep.

"I am, are you?" I nodded, putting my sunglasses back on and getting into the jeep.

"Let go" I started up the jeep, making sure to turn on some music so we didn't have talk. Putting the jeep in drive, I took off towards town.
