Mismatched eyes, but otherwise identical. Slytherin when they still went to school. Decent NEWT scores in many of their classes, but the one thing they excelled at was the Dark Arts. They had wanted to learn all they could, checking out books on the topic and hanging on to every word the DA teacher ever said. Think about all the power in just this one field! With the Imperius curse, for example, you can control people. Why was it deemed unforgivable anyway? Muggle hypnosis has close enough to the same effect, and that's not illegal. Despite Ginger and Sophia's opinions on how Dark Arts weren't that bad, they never spoke up. It was power, and since when is that evil? Because of a promise they made when he was 5 and they were 12, they were waiting at least until Michael goes to Hogwarts. Funny how his first year is the year after their last. They didn't have a plan yet, just a goal. The plan itself would come together when Mike told them who exactly was attending this year. They just had to wait for September 1.
Sensei Wu had them send the owl off with another letter stating that the golden ninja would be attending the school for wizards, and only after it had flown out of sight did they allow Jason inside. He saw the five boys from the picture as well as an unfamiliar girl with short black hair. The son of Zeus knew wizards were real, but he'd never heard of someone getting a letter telling them they were one. And why use owls as messenger pigeons?
"You said you were here for something important?"
He opened his mouth to speak- "Do you go to Camp Half-Blood?"
Hey, he hadn't even started- Never mind, the 'wizard' was just looking at Jason's new orange T-shirt.
"What are you talking about?" said the boy who had been so excited about Lloyd's Hogwarts letter. "It says Delphi Strawberry Service."
Oh, boy. The Mist affects the t-shirts? At least now he knew the one in blue wasn't a demigod, as well as why he'd never heard of anyone being asked about camp when wearing their shirt. Hey, maybe he doesn't have to use the paper. "Raise your hand if you think it says Camp Half-Blood." All of the teens but the blue one and the one wearing white did so. Jay wondered how he could be so far off with reading the logo. He got Delphi Strawberry Service out of Camp Half-Blood; how did that happen?! Even now that he knew what it was supposed to say, he stared at it and it still read Delphi Strawberry Services.
Jason counted four hands: the spiky-haired boy he'd originally suspected, the one who answered the door, the girl with black hair, and the blonde who got a letter claiming he was a wizard. Either one of them is a mortal who sees through the Mist, or Chiron made a mistake somehow. Jason pulled the folded-up sheet of paper out of his pocket and passed it to Lloyd, who happened to be closest to him. "See if any of you can read it."
"Yes, Jason or whatever you said your name was, we can all read! And what's up with the shirt? It's some sort of illusion, right?"
"No, you just can't see through the Mist."
"I can't see through what now?"
"The Mist. Prevents mortals from seeing certain things."
"Like your shirt?" Jay said doubtfully.
"Like my shirt."
"And everyone else can 'see through it' because..."
"The one with pointy hair and two others-"
"Pointy hair?!" Kai shouted.
"Listen, all of you, so I maybe won't have to repeat this. Half-bloods, or demigods, are half-human, half-god, and either she or those boys are just that. When they get around 12 or 13 -if you ask me, if you've survived this long Camp Half-Blood can't teach you too much- monsters can smell them and usually will try to hunt them down. I heard you fought snake monsters, but I have a feeling that's unrelated. Hmm, that was easier than I thought. Wizard, can you read it or not?"
Lloyd had been squinting and trying his best to make sense of the nonsense on the page for a few minutes now. Some of the characters resembled letters but others were symbols he'd never seen before.
"Wizard? Oh, right, that's me. My name's Lloyd, but you might not know that since we never introduced ourselves. The boy with black hair is Cole, Kai is the one you said had pointy hair, Jay's the one in blue, Zane's wearing white, the only girl here is Nya, Kai's sister, and the man with the long white beard is my Uncle Wu."
"It's not in English," the golden ninja warned Cole as he passed him the paper.
"What do you mean? It says 'Hello'," the earth ninja looked slightly surprised with himself for a second, but it quickly disappeared.
"Nope, pretty sure that's not English," Jay said, sneaking a look at the page. "Is this another Mist thing?"
"No, the brains of a Greek demigod are made to read Greek, and a Roman's Latin. Many have dyslexia because of it. Unrelated, but a lot of half-bloods also have ADHD." Cole suddenly found his shoes very interesting halfway through. "Do any of you have either of those? I promise I won't laugh if you say yes."
Cole muttered something, but wouldn't meet Jason's eyes.
"Did you say something- it's Cole, isn't it?"
"I have dyslexia," he repeated, only just loud enough to be heard.
"You never told us that," Jay said.
"I was embarrassed, okay?"
"You're our brother; we would not have made fun of you," Zane reassured him.
"And you said you could read it?" Jason asked.
Cole nodded.
"You're a demigod. Congrats. Oh, gods, this is taking a while. He should've sent a satyr; they can sniff out half-bloods. I'm guessing Nya and Kai are the others, since Lloyd couldn't read it. Are you gonna come with me to camp or put up a fight over this?"
"I'll go."
"Wait, Nya, you're just gonna go off with some wierdo? What if something bad happens?"
"I can take care of myself, Jay. Besides, Kai's going too."
"I never agreed to that!"
"But you would've gone to 'protect' me if I went."
Jason opened the door and let the twins out first. "Cole? Are you coming too?"
He shrugged and followed them out.
Jay facepalmed a minute later. "I just let Cole go somewhere alone with Nya!"
Zane looked confused. "They are not alone. Kai and the boy Jason is with them."
[A/n: Lloyd and Wu go to Diagon Alley next chapter, but I've got no clue what to put for Lloyd's wand. Any suggestions? (Wand composition mainly, I can make up a length.) Also, I've always imagined Kai and Nya as twins or a year apart.]
