So i picture Sam in two different ways. One is the cover image for this story. The other is take Jake Frost from rise of the guardians and give him a tail, slightly more normal colored skin, black hair, keep the ice blue hair, and a xeno tail and exoskeleton on his arms and legs.

I shot to the side. With a roar my enemy lunged and swatted my head. I squealed and collapsed. Paws slammed into my shoulders and I shrieked. The bear loomed over me with a huff and I struggled to get up. Growling quietly, I tugged at my foot which had gotten stuck under a root.

"Come on, come on!" I muttered furiously, risking a glance back at the bear which had raised itself onto its hind legs one paw raised. It swung. I was slow on the dodge. I shrieked as its claws left a scratch down my thigh, tearing the top of my jeans. I screeched in panic as I finally managed to free my foot. I instantly stood and bellowed at the bear, which reared up again. I hissed, swaying slightly from side to side. The bear lunged again and I dove to the side, dodging the paw that had been aimed for my head. I whirled around and leaped at the animal, clawing my way up its back and gripping its fur tightly in my hands, began to churn my feet, raking my claws down its back whilst stabbing it with my tail. The bear roared in fury and reared up, causing me to nearly lose my balance, but I was able to readjust quickly. I snarled and bit down on the back of the bears neck, but it did little damage, as the fur was too thick there. I leaped off and landed a few paces away from it. The bear lowered itself to all fours, mirroring me as we began to circle, me hissing and lashing my tail, the bear growling and huffing. I winced as my cut stung. I realized that I wasn't going to be able to take it down on my own. This was a fully grown male grizzly bear, over 200 pounds at least, and in the prime of his youth. I stood up, before inhaling deeply and throwing my head back, let out a roar. (Praetorian roar from AvP 2010). The scream echoed through the trees, and rebounded off everything. The bear yelped in pain and pawed at its ears as it paced back. I continued to bellow, letting my vocalic chords ring through the trees. When I stopped panting, the roar still hung in the air. I glanced at my prey, seeing it still disoriented, I allowed myself to slump lightly, and rest for a moment. I sagged against a tree and looked at the scratch. Luckily, it wasn't deep nor life-threatening. I heard a call in the distance.

"I'm coming Sam." a voice entered my head. I smiled. It was Ripper. With the Praetorian on my side, defeating the bear would be a piece of cake. Bushes cracked and rustled and Ripper came barreling out, snarling. His enormous crested head swung towards the bear, which was starting to recover before turning to me.

"Are you ok?" he asked. I nodded.

"Just a scratch, I'll be ok." I reassured the Praetorian mentally, too out of breath to answer with words. Ripper nodded before turning back to the bear. He screeched at it and the bear snarled. Ripper charged forward and I hurried to join him. I snarled as I jumped back onto the bear and Ripper lashed out, raking his claws down the bears side, and slashing it with his tail. I began to just claw and kick and slash the bears back to shreds, ripping away fur and flesh. The bear roared in outrage and body slammed the Praetorian, which actually managed to send Ripper back a step with a grunt. I hissed and drove my tail into the bears back, digging it deeper and deeper. The bear roared in pain. Ripper lunged again, this time grabbing the bear by the throat in his jaws. Through the gaps in the side of his mouth I could see his inner mouth shooting in and out of the flesh. The bears pained roars became gurgles and I hopped down, steadying myself with a lash of my tail. The bear continued to moan as blood poured from its wounds. Ripper backed away, watching as the bear slumped and finally became still. I grinned at the Praetorian. His lips peeled back in an alien grin and he nodded.

"Well done Sam. That was an excellent catch." he said, walking forward to inspect the bear. I chuckled and stepped forward, gritting my teeth as pain laced up my leg. I sat down and began to lick at the wound like a cat. My saliva would help prevent infection, and my body would clot the cut. I sighed as blood dripped onto the ground and hissed, dissolving away. Ripper stood nearby checking over himself. I looked up at him.

"You ok?" I asked. Ripper nodded and walked over to the bear. He picked it up and heaved its heavy body over his shoulder to carry back to the Hive. He looked back at me. I waved him off.

"I'll catch up in a few, I'm gona rest and let this heal a bit." I told him. Ripper nodded and jogged into the trees, the bear dangling down his back. I sat back and closed my eyes. Not a minute had passed and I heard bushes rustling. With a low growl I sat up and wheeled around.

"Ripper, I said-" I stopped short, when Katie came walking into view and quickly ran over to me. Shocked, I gaped at her as she quickly crouched beside me.

"Are you okay? I heard you roaring and I thought something was wrong!' she exclaimed. I stared before rebooting.

"Katie, what the hell are you doing here? And for how long?!" I demanded. Katie stared at me.

"I got here just a little bit before the Praetorian arrived, Sam I was so scared when I saw you trying to take down that bear. What the hell were you thinking?!" she snapped. I hissed at her lightly.

"I was fine, Ripper was on his way. And you shouldn't be out here! The Hive is less then 2 miles from here!" I said. Katie just shook her head.

"Come, I need to make sure you're ok." she ordered. I groaned.

"Katie, I am fine. My blood clots and heals it in like, 5 minutes." I sighed, exasperated. Katie wasn't having any of it and lead me away to a clearing closer to her camp. As we walked, it quickly became apparent that I wasn't ok. I was limping heavily and grunting in pain. The whole time, Katie just looked at me and smirked. I growled under my breath as we entered the clearing. She lead me over to a log.

"Sit. Stay here. Do NOT move or else!" she growled at me. I hissed lightly but eased into a sitting position. I glared at her.

"This isn't nece-" I began but found myself talking to an empty clearing because she had left. I groaned and dropped my head to my hands. Sunlight filtered through the trees and bird calls echoed through the air. I raised my claws and examined them. Crusted with blood, they were dirty and ragged. I put one of them into my mouth and began to lick and gnawed them to clean them. I spat the remains out onto the ground, then taking my tail and dragging the blade over them, resmoothing them and sharpening them again. In short, it was like humans clipping their nails. Finished with that, I looked up to the sound of bushes rustling and Katie came back, several things in her arms. I examined them as she sat down beside me. There was a long white strip that felt brittle and tough on my hands when I ran my fingers down it. Katie batted my hands away.

"Stop." she said before grabbing my leg moving to where she could reach it. Because of the angle, I was forced to sit in an uncomfortable position. The first thing she did was take a silver knife and cut away the pant material from around the cut. I growled.

"Stop, I need those!" I snapped. Katie looked up at me. Her brown eyes narrowed.

"If you don't want to be infected stop moving." she ordered. I bristled but remained silent. As she worked, I felt waves of anger and fear and disappointment, boy that was a strong one, flooding off her. I sighed.

"Katie what is wrong?" I asked. Katie stilled in her work with a small sigh before completely sitting up and focusing on me.

"I'm angry at you." she stated simply. I nodded, that was obvious, but I didn't understand why. She continued.

"I'm angry because you were attacking a BEAR! A BEAR SAM! That thing could have killed you in one swipe and you were attacking it, challenging it! It was the dumbest thing I have ever seen!" she huffed. I smiled then, as she ranted.

"I think, a better question to ask is why you were watching me fight a bear." I said smugly. Katies words stuttered and fell silent as she scrambled for an excuse. I coiled my tail around my waist as I looked at her smirking.

"Well, I- I was-uh..." she trailed off, biting her lip and fiddling with the things in her hands. I waited, smugness radiating off me.

"You were what?" I questioned innocently. She glared at me and slapped the back of my head.

"it doesn't matter! Point it, you could have been killed." she exclaimed. I laughed then. She glared at me and actually bared her teeth at me. I chuckled.

"Sorry." I muttered. She sighed and continued, wrapping the cloth around my leg and over the cut. I reached out and ran my fingers through her hair, sensing the anger roiling in her dissipate a bit. It was quiet for a bit as she finished before sitting up and wiping her hands on her shirt. I didn't worry about blood, it had already clotted and was safe for her. She leaned against me and I wrapped my arm around her shoulder. She rested her head on my shoulder. I placed my chin on her head and sighed.

"Please promise me you won't do that again." she whispered. I rolled my eyes slightly but nodded.

"I won't." I muttered. She smiled then.

"Good." she murmmered. We sat for about another half hour when I heard bushes rustling. I looked up, alert and tensed in case of danger.

"Sam?" a voice asked. I blinked in shock, as Eren stepped from the bushes and immidiatly halted, hissing and baring her teeth when she spotted Katie. I stood then and pushed Katie behind me.

"Eren calm down its just Katie!" I shouted. Eren paused then relaxed.

"oh. Her." she said, disdain in her tone. I tilted my head as Eren slid over to me, winding around my legs and curling her lip at Katie.

"Katie, this is Eren, she's my best friend." I explained, stroking Eren dome. Eren hissed at Katie, curling her lip.

"oh. So this is Eren." murmmered Katie, eyes wide. I nodded and looked down when Eren growled again. I lightly slapped her.

"Be nice! Katie is a friend. I've told you this." I ordered. Eren's lips peeled back more.

"Just because she's a friend doesn't mean I have to like her. She is a human. You are a Xenomorph. I don't like seeing her so close to you!" Eren snapped. I shook my head.

"One, I'm a hybrid. Two, Katie's nice and a good friend. Just because you're a Xenomorph doesn't mean you don't have to like her." I said. Katie watched our exchange, legs drawn up and arms around them. I glanced down at Eren when a thought occurred to me. I grinned then, and started laughing. Eren looked up at me like I had gone mad and Katie raised her eyebrows.

"Eren, you're- you're haha, this is great! You're jealous!" I screeched, sitting down because I was laughing so hard. Eren let out a furious snarl and lunged, elciting a startled yelp from Katie, pinning my arms to the ground. I fell back, grunting as my head hit the ground. Erens black face leered down at me, lips withering over her teeth. She snarled in anger and leaned over till her mouth was inches from mine. Her body weight leaned on my chest. She hissed.

"I am not jealous hybrid." She snapped. Instantly I knew I was in trouble. She never called me hybrid unless she was royally pissed off. I flinched under her unseen gaze. Katie was still as a stone next to the warrior. I bowed my head as much as I could.

"Sorry Eren." I muttered. She growled and got off me, hissing in irritation. She stalked to the other side of the clearing. Katie extended a hand to help me up. I took it and stood.

"What did she want?" Asked Katie quietly. I just sighed.

"I don't even know, I think she's jealous." I whispered quietly to her in English. Eren bared her teeth at us. I just sighed.

"What do you want?" I asked Eren, who had started pacing. Eren kept pacing as she answered, not looking at me.

"I was wondering if you wanted to come with me and Cali to hunt, but if you're too busy that's fine." she growled. I rolled my eyes and turned to Katie.

"I need to go, Eren and a friend want to hunt with me." I told her. Katie blinked.

"Sam, you just took down a bear! Why do you need to hunt again?" Katie exclaimed. I just shrugged and hugged her. She nestled her head into my shoulder as she wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Please be safe." she whispered. I nodded, but then, claws gripped my shoulder and then I was torn from her grasp by a very annoyed Xenomorph, who then shoved Katie back a step with a hiss. I turned on Eren with a half roar, grabbing her and throwing her to the ground. I lunged and rammed my knee into her gut, which elicited a pained screech from her. I snarled.
"Do. Not. Touch. Her. Ever. Again." I hissed, malice coating my tone. Eren bared her teeth, but complied. I stood and wrapped my tail around Katie's waist to pull her up. She stumbled slightly.

"Thanks." she muttered. I nodded. I decided to test her Xenomorph quickly.

"See you later." I hissed, smirking at the look of surprise on her face, then concentration as she put meanings to the growls. She then smiled and laughed.

"You too." she replied, her Xenomorph having an accent, but still understandable. I smiled and turned to join Eren, who was waiting by the bushes. She turned and with a last snarl at Katie, bounded into the bushes. I sighed and lowered myself to all fours to race after her.

OOhhhh Erens jealous! Soooo sorry for the long wait, I've been super super busy. The Intruder is being worked on right now as well as the Marked Drone. Thanks peeps. :)
