Well Enjoy this Chapter :)

Chapter Six

The sun began to rise and the bright orange light was glowing over the entire land of Corona. It beamed down, over the hill and shining through the castle's windows. The light reflects on a stain glass window of the First Kingdom's symbol of three musk mellows (types of flowers found in a meadow). Rapunzel could see it from a mile away as she was lying on the hill and watching the beautiful sunrise. She admired every bit of it. She stayed there, looking at the flame in the sky until it was blue and the sun was where it belonged.

Then, the kingdom clock chimed through the kingdom eight times. Rapunzel gasped and got up, wiping the dirt off her gown and dashed back tot he castle. She was going to be late for breakfast, she didn't want to disappoint her parents. She promised to be on time.

Time was ticking and the King and the Queen, sat in the dining hall, waiting for their daughter. The King looked at the clock, it was getting late. Soon, they heard the door opening and heels clacking on the wooden floor. Rapunzel ran to the table and panted. Her hair was braided awfully and her dress was wrinkled. She opened her mouth to speak.

"Let me guess; you are late because you went outside and forgot." Her father interrupted.

Rapunzel was able to catch her breath and shook her head "yes", as she sat down in her chair. "I'm sorry, Father, Mother. It's just, it was a glorious sunrise, I just had to see it more closer...outside."

"I see", the Queen gave a quick smile before she lifted her glass of water to drink.

Rapunzel nodded. They all sat there silently , neither of them spoke. Rapunzel wondered if it was like this all the time as she rested her head on the table and played with her fingers, she was board. Soon, dozens of chefs came into the hall, with trays of so many different foods and pastries. She picked up her head as they were serving her meal. After they were served, they thanked them. The chefs bowed to their majesties and they all left.

The King and the Queen were slowly eating and taking in every delight of their meal. While, the princess was hogging the food quickly and looked like an animal, shoving it into her mouth. The King stared at his daughter, shocked by her behavior. She was eating as if she was hurrying to get somewhere.

Rapunzel looked up and saw a plateful of rolls and biscuits near her. She leaned forward and took two of them, she could bring one to Eugene for later.

"Not so much, Rapunzel. One at a time". Her mother said.

"Yes, Mother". she held on to one and wrapped it in her napkin that was on her lap. She gave herself a sneaky grin when her parents weren't looking. She sat there straight, continuing to eat her breakfast.

"Rapunzel?" She looked at her Father across the end of the table. "Your Mother and I were wondering if you could stay today and not run off."

She stared at him for a moment with a confused look. "Why?" she asked.

The King looked across the other end, where his wife sat. He sighed. "You been going all over the kingdoms everyday. Could you stay in least once?"

"But-" both glares of her parents made her heart tare, they were right. She never spend time with her parents that much. Rapunzel had a feeling that she never felt in years; guilt. "I saw dark clouds coming from the South, I'm guessing it'll rain today. I could stay in for now."

"Thank you, Dear" the Queen smiled.

Rapunzel grinned back, "no problem".

...oOo...

Rapunzel was board. She talked to her parents all morning and since then, she been sitting in her bedroom. She sewed for a while and painted a little bit of her masterpiece. She looked outside, it was cloudy; but not raining. She always hated rainy days, she sometimes have nothing to do. She looked at the clock, Eugene would probably wonder why she didn't come if she never got outside today. she could of just sneak out...

She laid on her bed a groaned in her pillows. "I'm so board" she said to herself. Rapunzel saw her cloak, maybe she could sneak out. But what would her parents feel if they found out she wasn't inside the castle? She didn't listen to her conscience, saying that this wasn't a great idea. She puts on her cloak and walks out of her room.

She walked down the steps, slowly and quietly, hoping her footsteps wouldn't make the slightest noise and get her caught. She goes into the kitchen, finding the wrapped up cloth that she had this morning with the roll inside it. By the time she reached the main doors, she just wanted to make a run for it. She pulls her hood up and opened the doors slowly, trying not to make the door squeak. She goes down the stone steps and turned towards the castle garden.

"Princess!" Someone shouted behind. Rapunzel turned around, finding a guard. He bowed, "forgive me, Your Highness, for interrupting your walk but your parents would like to see you in the dining hall". She nodded and thanked him.

Rapunzel was curious why her parents wanted her. Stepped back inside and walked to the dining hall, Finding her parents sitting down, this time next to each other. Rapunzel couldn't make out with the looks they had, It was their normal looks when she came late for something. But, yet they both showed anxious in their eyes.

"Am I late for something?" she asked.

"No dear, just have a seat" the Queen said. She sat across her parents and nodded .

"What's wrong, did something happen?"

"Something did happen, but nothing bad."

She sighed with relief. "So what is it?"

Both the King and Queen looked at each other then, they both looked at their daughter. The Queen soon spoke, "We been thinking and talked to the council and for about several months we been talking, that you will soon be the next heir of Kingdom One if Corona."

The Princess sat there still, but a small smile came across her face. "Really?" they nodded. "I'm going to be...Queen?"

"Not just yet, Dear. But you'll be by the next year or so. But, you must be ready to take this big reasonability."

"I will", she said, a little bit excited as she was ready to leave.

"However", her father said, she then slouched back in her seat. "According to the council, you must be betrothed before you could take the throne."

Rapunzel sat there, frozen. Her eyes widened her jaw dropped. "Marriage?" she said in a non-happy tone.

"Indeed, Rapunzel".

She stuttered "What? n-no, No! I am not getting married." She stood up and folded her arms and objected, "I'll take over the kingdom myself".

"Darling, You can not", her Mother said.

"It's the law Rapunzel, that's what the council said."

"Well I think it's stupid! I'm not going to get married to a conceded, snobbing prince. I want to get married to someone that I love."

"Rapunzel!" The King interrupted as he banged one of his fist on the table and stood up. "You had years to find your prince. You are now twenty-two and it's almost time for you to have the kingdom and to grow up."

"I can't believe you are not agreeing with me, Father. You said, that someone will love me for who I am."

"And someone will," he said this more calmly.

"Because of my riches and beauty?" He didn't know what to say after that. They all stared at one another.

The King glanced at his wife, then his daughter, who was filled with anger and upsetment. He sighed, "I'm sorry. But you have no choice", he paused. "We are going to have a ball held here and every prince from the nearest kingdoms will come and you will attend".

Rapunzel shook her head as she grabs her cloak, with tears in her eyes. "I'm not going through this. They can't make me!", she shouted at them before she ran out of the dining hall.

She opened the thick doors to the outside. It was pouring, but she didn't care. She ran out and away from the castle. she needed to be alone. She stops halfway down the kingdom and stares into the woods; It was early to go to Eugene's. She needed to talk to someone right now. She disobeyed Eugene's rules and ran to the house.

Thunder started to roar through the forest and poured a little harder. Rapunzel was getting soaked, She ran faster as the rain hit her face like sharp pebbles. She started to see his home. She stands underneath tree and stares at the window, she hoped that he wouldn't get upset with her.

She stood in the rain for a while, but something made her jump. She heard it in the house. She ran to the door and opened it, slowly. She quietly ran to the staircase and went up. As she was halfway up, she heard a voice, lower than Eugene's. It was the same voice from two days ago. Was it his uncle?

She reached the door, it was cracked open. The murmuring continued. It sounded somewhat seriously angry. Rapunzel peeked through the crack. There, was a man wearing clothing much better than what Eugene wore. he had pale skin and greyish-brown hair , with a sort of bold. It looked like the man in the portrait. It had to be his Uncle.

He didn't look happy, he was standing close to Eugene. Him, however just stood there, staring at him. He looked somehow...the same. He too had a serious look but Rapunzel could read the worry in his eyes.

"Are you listening to me?" he demanded. Eugene didn't respond, he stares at the floor. Then within seconds, before Rapunzel could even blink, The man raised his hand and struck him across the face that he tumbled down to the ground. He punched Eugene and he groaned in pain. The man picked him up by the neck and his fist was ready to strike.

Rapunzel loudly gasped.

There was a pause. Still ready to hit, the man looks towards the door, he didn't see anything. Eugene followed his eyes and looked at the door, finding a pair of emerald eyes staring back filled with horror. He pretended that he didn't see anything as he was suffering for air. But he was able to mouthed 'go' before his Uncle could see anything.

Rapunzel still stood there, watching her friend getting hurt; why wasn't she doing anything?

He let go of Eugene, who fell on the floor and went on his knees, hacking for air. His Uncle kicked him in the abdomen, he was now feeling nauseous. He wrapped his arm around himself and stared at the man, standing above him. Before he kicked him again to the head and he faded into darkness...
