So this is just a short little drabble, set after 10x21. Might continue it but I probably won't

Sam was sitting on his bed, just staring at the wall when Castiel found him. He wanted to check up on him, thinking that Dean had been unjustifiably harsh on his brother in the time that had elapsed since Charlie had been found. He knocked on the open door before entering, and Sam looked up.

Cas looked at Sam with sympathy. "How are you holding up?" he asked, anticipating the Winchester's obligatory response of "I'm fine".

Before Sam could reply, they both heard "Cas!" being shouted down the corridors. Sam's eyes met his hands quickly, and Cas frowned.

"You should probably go." Sam spoke softly, but Cas heard him.

"Sam…"

Sam shook his head. "I'm not okay, Cas. But do I really deserve to be? Just… just go."

Cas retreated from the room, finding it necessary to think carefully about what his next words to Sam would be. Despite what Dean said, he couldn't bring himself to put the blame of Charlie's death on Sam, nor was he completely convinced that Dean believed it either.

Sorry for the abrupt ending, but yeah. That's just how it is :)
