Lillian told herself to brace for anything regarding the afterlife. Oddly enough, she wasn't expecting her long-dead uncle to be waiting at the top of Heaven's staircase, but the news was good all the same.
He wore blue jeans, a lazy army t-shirt, and no shoes. His brown hair was ruffled, and he had crows feet around the edges of his eyes, but his eyes were the youngest I had ever seen them. He stood in front of the sunlight with his hands in his pockets. "Hey, kid. Miss me?"
Lillian would have been content if God had told her that Mark was in His clutches and He wasn't ever going to let him go. But this...was a thousand times better. She was ecstatic...even when he commented: "Well, maybe not so much with mister ninja and his arch enemy around. They've been taking real good care of you, haven't they?"
Even as Lillian blushed, she couldn't help but laugh as she glomped him. "You idiot."
His chest rumbled as he pet Lillian's head. "Not the greeting I was expecting, but I'll take it." They stayed like that until Mark poked Lillian in the side. She squirmed at the sensation but still didn't move. "Not that I'm not happy to see you, kid, but you've got to move now."
Lillian pulled a Jazz and pouted before hugging him tighter. She nuzzled her head against his chest like a happy kitty. "Nuh uh. Comfy."
He sighed. "I don't know how Prowl survived you in your morning stages." She giggled before finally letting go of him. He ruffled her hair. "You're a good girl, Lilly. Always was, always will be..." She frowned slightly at his serious tone. "But I've got to hand you over to Primus. He's been wanting to see you for a while now."
"Primus?" Lillian gasped. When it finally registered, an exasperated expression fell upon her face as she facepalmed and groaned. "I am so gonna die."
Mark laughed. "Hate to break it to you, kid, but your kind of already half way there. You walked through Heaven, kid. I'd say congrats, but you haven't even started the real hike yet. It's not a journey unless your feet hurt and are soaked to the bone." Lillian eyed the relative area vaguely. So, in other words, this is just a desert region? "You'll get water when you reach the Well, kid, don't worry."
Mark walked behind Lillian before pushing her forward. "Go on, kid. Ain't no time like the present."
Lillian stumbled as she caught her footing along a stubborn cloud. She turned around once she had relative equilibrium. "B-But..."
His chuckle had a sad ring to it. "Go hug Jazz and Prowl. Oh-" He grinned. "Go hug Prime while your at it. Primus knows the big guy needs a hug more than anyone."
Lillian smiled. No kidding.
They shared salutes before Lillian traveled forward. She lowered her head slightly when she heard a female giggle behind her. So you found Sonya, too, huh? Lucky.
When Lillian reached the Well of All Sparks, she turned around and bowed to God. She backed up and stood on the edge of the Well. She bit her lip, staring at the white mass of fluffy cloud below her warily. Even as she stood on the edge of it, she was afraid of the possibility that something might reach up through the Well, grab her ankle and pull her down.
I wonder if Jazz had to do this...Nah. I took the back door in. He probably just plopped down on Primus' lap. Lillian giggled at that image. Jazz said I was half the size of the Mech's nonexistent eyelashes...if He had any. So that would make Jazz...half the size of His optic...maybe three quarters? She sighed. Oh yeah. If Primus decides I'm roadkill, I am so gonna die.
With that thought in mind, she lifted her arms out as though to take flight, closed her eyes, and allowed herself to fall back...before snapping her eyes open when all she did was bounce like she was on a trampoline. Lillian stared at the "water" in amazement before pressing her right hand against it. It was like memory foam or gel except...silkier. Lillian smirked as she stood up. Look at me! I'm walking on water! She giggle-snorted as she thought about Primus and God collaborating on this little 'project' just for the sake of recreating the human joke.
Lillian played on the water until she started to aimlessly look around. She sat in the middle of the Well with her legs crossed. She rested her head on her right hand. Okay, I've had my fun...As Prowl would say, this is getting tiresome. I know that Primus is a busy mech...or I don't...Well, He must be, right? Being a god must be a busy job...On second thought, is He even called a god? Is there another word for His position? Universe creator? No, no...Creator of all mechanical beings...? But that's the All Spark, isn't it? I should've just asked Jazz what he said. Now I'm nervous.
"Well we can't have that, can we?"
Lillian lost any breath she had stored in her lungs as the water parted enough to let her fall through. The sound of metal clanking against metal met her-ears? She hands-servos-traveled up to her ears-audios. I'm... Lillian didn't know why she couldn't complete that thought. She certainly looked like a Cybertronian, but she still felt like, well, her. When her head-helm cleared, she looked up. She couldn't control her jaw as it dropped to the ground. Primus, Jazz wasn't kidding.
Primus' optics practically sparkled in amusement. "Welcome, my child."
Lillian's mind went blank before Primus lifted her closer to His face and purred. She jumped. Nice kitty, big kitty, niiiiice kitty, she chanted nervously.
Primus laughed. "I was not aware I resembled an organic feline. Thank you for telling me so. I would have been caught off guard at the next universe meeting."
Lillian swallowed even though there was no need to. Her faceplates heated before she came to her senses. She began to bow so that her helm would be level with her knees before Primus stopped her with a digit under her chin. "Now, now. I am honored to have such a respectful child, but there is no need for formality." Primus lifted her helm up so that she could see His optics. "Lali."
Li-Lali's optics dilated. She lowered her helm as her spark swelled. Primus curled her up to His spark. Her engine purred softly. "Warm kitty," she mumbled.
Primus smiled. "Rest, my child. Rest." When she was near the edge of la-la land, Primus stated one last sentence. "Until we meet again, Lali."
