I'm not so sure about this chapter. Hope it's satisfactory.

"I don't know." Gustus said with a rough voice. He went to a table, poured water into a cup and drank up. He put the cup back on the table with an extra force. Indra had come to his tent uninvited. "I don't interfere or take interest. It's not my place."
Indra wasn't buying it. "You expect me to believe?" She asked angrily. He must have known or heard something. "You should know everything that is to know about the Commander. How can you protect her if you don't even know what she's up to?"
"I am her guard not her confidant." He stared at Indra who refused to leave. He knew Indra was right but this was personal. Something he wasn't allowed to interfere. "Even if I knew I would keep it until the day I die." He stepped forward to face Indra square in the face. "And I have no obligation to answer to you." She should know better than to cross him. He respected her but she was out of line with her request. "If you want to know so bad why don't you ask the Commander herself?"
Indra knew that wasn't possible. It wasn't her place to question the Commander's decision even in her capacity as one of the generals. She had asked before but the Commander didn't give her reasons. It would be rude to ask again. The Commander had been wise with her decisions before and she wasn't about to start questioning her now but the people of her village had started to ask questions. So she needed answers.
He knew what Indra had to deal with but there was nothing he could do. Asking him to spy on the Commander was absurd. "The Commander knows what she's doing. I believe in her. So should you." He couldn't offer anything more. "If I know something that concerns you I will let you know."
Indra looked him in the eye. "I owe you." She nodded accepting that it was the end of their conversation. She couldn't ask for more. "How long does she plan to stay?"
Gustus offered her no answer which meant he also had no clue. Both warriors nodded in acknowledgement. "Keep the Commander safe." She said before leaving.
Clarke was going to see Raven when Jasper called her. She turned.
"Hey Clarke! Watch this!" Jasper said. Monty was grinning next to him, cheering him on. Clarke scrunched her nose when she knew what he was about to do. Jasper blew his nose and the nut fell a few feet away.
"Whoa! That's awesome!" Monty exclaimed. They high-five each other and made some gestures only they knew what they meant.
"Guys. Don't you have something to do?" Clarke asked hands on her hips. She looked around and everybody was having fun watching the twins making fun of themselves.
"Way to go Jasper!" Finn appeared among the others, clapping his hands joining them. When his eyes met Clarke he shrugged at her.
"Now it's my turn." Monty said taking one piece of a nut from the table. "Clarke, lo and behold. Prepare yourself for a greatness that you're about to witness." He said with a serious tone. Jasper was encouraging him and the others were chanting 'Blow!Blow!Blow!' that only made him excited. He sniffed hard before covering one of his nostrils. He held his breath for a second to put it and balanced himself at the same time before he blew as hard as he could.
"Whoa! That's a record!" Monty bowed and turned for the applause. Everybody was having fun.
"Yeah that was impressive." Clarke clapped her hands while shaking her head. There was no harm in having a little laugh. "Seriously I didn't know you could do that. That's a serious talent you have there. I couldn't pull that off myself."
The twins laughed loudly and high-five each other again. "Nah that was easy. We could show you some other tricks. You want to see?" Jasper eagerly told her.
Clarke shook her head. It could be some other crazy things they made up. She wasn't going to blow something out of her nose unless she had to. "Maybe later. Now if you're done please get back to work."
"What's this all about?" Clarke watched as Bellamy approached them. He didn't look happy with what was happening. "Why aren't you guys working? This isn't the time to let our guards down!" He frowned at the lack of common sense from them and to see Clarke and Finn were there being part of it as well made him shook his head. Everybody was quiet.
"Party pooper." Monty whispered and Jasper nodded in agreement. Finn and Clarke exchanged glances and shrugged.
"You two come with me. Raven may need our help." Clarke motioned for them to follow her to the dropship. They obediently followed. Finn was trailing behind them.
"All of you. Get back to work. All the guards keep your eyes open!" He ordered them and the crowd dispersed murmuring something between them.
"You're a party pooper Bell." Octavia said. "It doesn't kill anyone to have some fun once in a while. They're the only entertainment we've got." They hadn't seen the Grounders for almost a week now. "Loosen up a little bit."
"Someone has to be. Someone has to keep us alive." He turned to look at his sister. "Is everything okay with Clarke?" Bellamy lowered his voice. They hadn't really talked unless it was necessary.
"Yeah I guess. Why do you ask?" Octavia's eyes followed Clarke until she disappeared behind the door. She brought her attention back to her brother.
Bellamy shrugged. "Nothing. I'm just asking." He looked down on his boots avoiding eye contact.
Octavia didn't buy it. She knew her brother so well. "I know I spent my whole life hiding under the floor until a year ago but Bell." She stopped. "It's not gonna work. Don't get your hopes up."
"What are you talking about?" Bellamy frowned. He didn't think he was that obvious.
She crossed her arms. "Really Bell? Like I didn't notice." She sighed. "You and Clarke." Bellamy took his eyes away from her. "If you want her you better do something about it. The way I see it now Finn even though he's with Raven has better chances with her than you."
Bellamy didn't say a word but his face showed what he didn't say. He knew he messed up. He didn't know Jaha was still alive or he wouldn't have destroyed the only radio that could get them to contact the Ark. A lot of lives could have been saved if it wasn't because of him.
"What happened happens. There's nothing you can do to change it." Octavia knew what her brother was thinking. "You couldn't have known that. She's not mad at you." She tapped her brother's shoulder. "Come on. They're waiting for you. Go make some plans to save our asses." She gestured to the dropship. "I have to go hunting. Wish me luck." She walked to her tent to get her stuff before joining her group.
"Be careful out there." Bellamy shouted before going to see the others.
Lexa sat in her tent thinking. She had luck when she met Clarke the second time she tried. She didn't know if it was a good idea for her to go back looking for Clarke again so soon. It had been a few days since their last meeting but it was still too soon. Gustus wasn't saying anything but Indra was another thing. Indra would get suspicious if she noticed she was missing again. She wasn't easily convinced.
When she gave the order not to harm Sky People unless they were attacked Indra was already opposing. She had a plan but she needed to make it right. She was successful at keeping her people together for the alliance between clans but Sky People were a completely different story. They weren't one of them. They were the outsiders.
She was playing with the knife in her hand while her mind worked for a way. It would be difficult to convince them without having a perfectly good reason. Based on her one sided conversation with Clarke she knew they weren't here to kill them like the Mountain Men. They did have one thing in common: they were fighting for survival. She remembered everything Clarke had told her. 'We're dying up there. Die up there or die trying to get to the ground.'
"Gustus!" She called. A moment later he came in waiting for orders.
"Where is Indra?" She asked.
"I don't know Heda. I will look for her if you wish." Gustus began to turn when Lexa stopped her.
"There is no need for that." Lexa paused before continued, "that will be all."
Gustus frowned a little but bowed his head and went out.
"An alliance." She remembered Clarke mentioned it the day she was captured. They were thinking to form an alliance with the Grounders. They wanted to make peace. Her people would not accept an alliance unless they had something to offer but for now she hadn't figure out what Sky People could offer them.
"Is it possible?" Making an alliance with her people would ensure the safety of Sky People. She tried not to involve her feelings in making her decisions especially her growing feelings towards Clarke. She sighed. Clarke. "Think with your head not with your heart." She closed her eyes.
"But she needs to know." She got up and walked out. "Stay here. I'll be back." Gustus nodded as he stared at her until she was out of his sight.
"You're in charge while I'm out." Bellamy told Murphy. "Make sure everybody do their job. No slacking."
Murphy nodded. "How long am I going to be the Chief?" He asked not liking being in charge. Nobody liked the boss.
"Maybe a couple of days. Keep an eye on Octavia." He ordered. "If anything happens to her you answer to me."
"Bellamy let's go." Finn tapped his shoulder. Bellamy nodded and headed to the main gate with the others.
"Sure Boss." Murphy said.
Clarke pulled out her map from her jacket and studied it. "I think we're on the right track." She folded it back and stuffed it into her pocket.
"We haven't been this far out before." Finn said. "It's good that we haven't seen any grounders yet but the farther we go the higher chances we're going to meet one."
"Just don't throw any more spears to my chest." Jasper said. Monty tapped his shoulder as a support. "I don't think I'm ready for that."
"We weren't prepared back then." Bellamy said. "But now we do." He held up the rifle in his hand.
"If you're done I'd like to get moving now. It's better if we can get there before dark." Finn led the way followed by Clarke and the others. They hadn't walked too long when Finn stopped.
"What?" Monty asked. "Why are we stopping?"
Finn thought he saw something but he wasn't sure. "I don't know. I think-" He didn't have to finish when his fear jumped out of hiding.
"Grounders!" Clarke shouted. "Take cover!" Arrows were flying waiting to hit a target. Jasper and Monty ran to take cover and shooting their guns at the same time.
"Where are they? I don't see any!" Finn shouted. "Stop shooting!"
Fingers were hovering over the trigger waiting for their targets. "Save your ammo. Don't shoot unless you're sure." Bellamy shouted. They waited but there was no sign of the grounders.
"Behind us!" Jasper shouted. They turned to see there were six grounders coming towards them shooting arrows.
Everybody opened fire but none was on target. As the grounders were getting closer Bellamy shouted, "Run!" They couldn't fight the grounders heads on.
"Shit!" Clarke cursed when she saw a grounder was chasing her. She was separated from the others as she ran further away from them. "I'm such a bad shooter!" She couldn't aim straight because she was trying to avoid his arrows. She turned and ran as fast as she could but suddenly she tripped over something and fell down. Before she could get up she felt a kick to her abdomen that sent her rolling on the ground.
The man grinned when he had Clarke pinned down on the ground. She watched in horror when she realised what he had in his hand as he held the knife high. She was surprised when he suddenly screamed in agony. He fell to his back while his left hand clutching his right arm where a knife was stuck. Puzzled she turned her head to see someone was standing not far away from them.
"Lexa?" She was always happy to see her but this time she felt even more grateful that she was here.
She walked towards them but her eyes never left the grounder. He was backing up, terrified when Lexa was getting closer. "You defied my order. You will pay with your life." She bent down and took the knife out of his bleeding arm that made him grunted. He said something but Lexa ignored him as she turned to look at Clarke who was still on the ground offering her a hand.
"Thank you. That was close. Good throw though." Clarke said standing up but the man was still on the ground. She was sure Lexa was about to end the man when they heard a loud sound.
"What was that?" Clarke looked around trying to figure out where it came from. The man stood up holding his arms. From the way they reacted Clarke figured they knew what it was. "Lexa what is it?!"
"Clarke!" Lexa shouted and gestured for Clarke to follow her. She had started to run.
"Here we go again! Where am I running to this time?" Clarke rolled her eyes and followed her. The man was behind her running in the same direction. She thought he was still chasing her. The second time she turned back she knew why they were running. "Acid Fog! It's coming!" She cursed when she realised she didn't have her backpack with her. It must have dropped somewhere when she was attacked.
The three of them were running as fast as they could. "We're not going to make it!" Clarke shouted. She was wondering if this would be the end of her. "I'm so dead." She kept turning her head to see that the fog was getting closer.
Lexa stopped abruptly when she came upon something that looked like a cave. "Clarke!" They both went inside but the man kept running. Clarke didn't think he could make it. Lexa held Clarke's hand in hers as they moved on further inside the cave. It was getting darker.
Clarke remembered the lighter she had in her pocket. So she took it out with her free hand and pressed her thumb down in quick succession and then a flame appeared. "Under different circumstances I'd say this is kind of romantic."
They both stopped as their eyes adjusted to the contrast of dark and light. She held the light high and was able to see Lexa's face. They were standing too close. She smiled.
Lexa immediately let go of her hand and took a step backward. Her eyes met Clarke but it wasn't long until she turned away. She made her way back to the cave's door without making a sound.
"Hey where are you going?" Clarke followed her. She almost stumbled over some small rocks scattered on the floor of the cave. "I doubt the fog is gone. It's too early. Lexa!"
They both could see that the fog wasn't cleared but it was safe for them to sit just closer to the cave's door.
"As soon as the fog's gone you need to leave." They couldn't afford to be found. "I'm not here alone. The others are here too. They won't be too happy to see you."
"I'm not scared." Lexa said completely being ignored by Clarke.
"That sound. That's how you knew the fog was coming." Clarke made her own conclusion. She had thought about it. When the first time they were hit by the fog there was this sound too. "There is so much I don't know about this wood, Earth." She shook her head. "I hope they're alright." She knew everybody brought their own tents. She just hoped they could see the fog just in time to use it.
"We should stop meeting like this." Clarke said as soon as she sat next to Lexa. "It's not safe. For both of us." She was worried about people finding them out. The Grounders and Sky People weren't exactly in a good term.
Lexa offered no words. The acid fog had killed her people as much as the Reapers had. That was why she had ordered that a horn would be blown so that people could run to hide.
"Bellamy asked why I always want to go out hunting while there are other things I could do." Clarke said. It was the only way she could meet Lexa. "Like planning how to go to Mt Weather." She remembered what Bellamy said. 'Let the others go Clarke. They can handle it. We need you here. You yourself said that going to Mt Weather is our only option.'
Lexa's face changed upon hearing the name of the people who had been killing her people for centuries. It didn't escape Clarke. She noticed.
"Your face changed. Is something wrong?" Clarke asked thinking what it could be. She asked even though she knew she wouldn't get an answer.
The way Clarke mentioned the Mt Weather suggested that she didn't know about them at all. Lexa looked down on the ground. Letting Mountain Men and Sky People fight among themselves was one of her options before. She had come here to make sure of the follow-through of her orders but she had changed them after meeting Clarke.
"My mom told me to go to Mt Weather when we get down here." Clarke continued. "She thought there were some supplies I don't know but something that could help us." Lexa was paying attention. "We tried once but we were attacked." She glanced over to Lexa. "The guy that shot you the other day, Jasper. We didn't see but we thought it was the Grounder who threw a spear to his chest. That's why he was kind of angry when he saw you."
"Sky People are trespassing our territories. Our lands." Lexa defended her people.
Clarke smiled. "I kinda like the sound of it now." Lexa turned with a little frown. "I mean your language. I don't understand them but it doesn't sound foreign to me anymore."
"But thank you for saving my neck out there. I was pretty sure he was going to end me." She paused. "But how did you know I was in trouble? How did you even know where I was?" She didn't really believe in coincidence. "Unless." A thought crossed her mind. "Are you following me?" A smile slowly formed on her lips.
Lexa turned away. There wasn't enough light to see her face and she scooted over to the right to put some distance between them. Clarke had some naughty thoughts in mind. Lexa wasn't going to tell but it wasn't that hard for her to find out. There was one thing she could do. She closed the distance between them by scooted a little closer. Suddenly aware of what was happening Lexa reacted by quickly standing up to go check on the fog.
"It'll take some time for the fog to clear." Clarke grinned. "I think we stuck here for now." She watched as Lexa turned to look at her but stayed where she was, away from Clarke. "Which I think isn't such a bad idea. I'd rather be stuck here with you than being chased by your people."
"I told them not to attack unless they were attacked." Lexa spoke. "If the fog didn't kill him I would." She never take lightly of people who didn't follow her orders.
Clarke nodded. "You feel the same way too huh. I know you do." She stood up and put her hands behind her back. "So." She walked closer and stood close enough for their shoulders to touch which made the other girl stiffened. Clarke hid her smile.
"I know you're following me Lexa." Clarke moved to stand in front of Lexa, too close to her for her liking. Lexa took a step back to keep their distance but Clarke kept going forward. "In my dictionary there's only two reasons why that is the case." She held up her finger in front of her. "No. 1 is that you're a crazy person and you're trying to kill me for whatever reasons you grounders kill people. I didn't mean to be rude." She paused. "And no. 2 is that you're a stalker and you're worried about me for whatever reasons you have."
Clarke studied the girl in front of her. With the little light they had in the cave she tried to figure her out. "There is a theory for reason no. 2." She added. "One reason why you worry about me is because you have feelings for me." She didn't use the L word yet because she wanted to be sure how deep were Lexa's feelings for her. A step forward for her was a step backward for Lexa.
"I don't have feelings." Clarke raised her eyebrow at Lexa's words. Not that she understood them. "Love is weakness." Lexa's face said it all. A face of a person who was in denial about her own feelings.
Lexa kept backing up until she had nowhere to turn. Her back was against the wall. She held up her head. She had trouble controlling herself because Clarke was too close she could see their bodies were almost touching. She felt heat rushing to her face.
"You can lie to yourself but not to me. I can see right through you Lexa." She purred. They were so close their noses were almost touching. Lexa couldn't help to look at Clarke's lips as she tried to compose herself. Her mouth was slightly open when she remembered their first kiss on the Ark. She remembered how sweet it was. She remembered how she enjoyed that moment. She closed her eyes and let out a heavy breath.
"Confirmed." Clarke smirked. Lexa might think that she was going to kiss her. She gave Lexa her biggest smile when she had opened her eyes again.
"I'm just teasing you. Relax. It's not like we're going to kiss right?" Clarke backed up a step to give room for Lexa to breathe but they were still close. She crossed her arms. She was sure now that Lexa had feelings for her. "I can tell that making you to admit you have feelings for me is too much for you right now." She watched as Lexa closed her eyes again and tried to steady her breathing.
She might have gone too far by pushing Lexa like that because she didn't look too happy about it. She knew what she wanted to know so she didn't feel sorry for it. The only problem they had was communication.
Clarke was thinking a way for them to have a two way communication when Lexa walked out. "Okay so you think we can go out now." Clarke hesitated but Lexa wasn't screaming in pain so she assumed the fog was gone.
Only now she could see Lexa's face clearly. She wasn't as mad as she thought she would which only meant that she was right. She could see she was smitten. Lexa wanted to kiss her. Lexa looked to have gained her senses back. Before Lexa could say something they heard a yell.
"Clarke! Are you here!?"
"That's Finn. That means the others are here too. You should go!" Lexa refused. "Go! I'll see you again tomorrow okay?" Clarke turned to see where they were. She pushed Lexa to move. "I promise we'll talk about it! Lexa! Now!"
Satisfied, Lexa slowly turned. "You will pay for this Clarke."
"Yeah yeah whatever. Please go." Clarke was really worried because she could hear the others calling her too. She gestured for Lexa to hurry up. She kept turning back to see until Lexa was gone.
"Hey guys! I'm here!" She waited until they were all gathered around her. She sighed. That was too close and Lexa wasn't helping either.
"Are you okay?" Bellamy asked looking around to make sure everything was okay. "We got separated when the Grounders attacked. Then there's the fog."
Clarke nodded. "Yeah I'm good. I was lucky." She pointed at the cave she and Lexa was hiding and having their moment. She smiled when that thought crossed her mind. Lexa had always have composure. Getting her to show a slightest of her feelings was rewarding. She tried so hard not to kiss Lexa right then.
"Then we should go. Mt Weather isn't too far I guess. It's better if we can get there before dark." Finn's suggestion brought her back to reality.
"Okay. Let's move." Bellamy said. Finn took the lead with Clarke and the others trailing behind him.
Monty screamed. They turned and saw there was an arrow in his leg. "Take cover!" Bellamy grabbed Monty to the ground. "They're coming back!"
"Where are they?" Jasper asked turning around. His eyes were everywhere.
Clarke frowned. She didn't see any grounders. "I don't see anybody."
Lexa hid immediately after the shot. She couldn't let them go to Mt Weather. Clarke didn't know what she was dealing with. Now that one of them was injured they wouldn't take the risk to continue.
"I think we should go back. Like right now!" Jasper was scared. He was still having a PTSD after the spear incident. He knelt down next to Monty desperately looking up at the rest of them. "We really should go back!"
"It's deep." Clarke looked up to Bellamy after checking the wound. "We need to go back to the dropship." Finn nodded. Bellamy wasn't too happy about it but with the others agreed to go back he didn't have a choice.
