Wow. It's been a year already? Two? Well, needless to say I haven't updated this fic in a long, long time.
I've stopped writing for Fairy Tail. I'll always love the manga/anime, but I'm not as into it as I once was, you know? Fruits Basket, too. I know that people are still reading and favoriting and following, so I just want to say thank you. I'm still young, actually, and Fairy Tail is one of the (if you don't count the Warrior fanfic things from fourth grade) first fandoms I wrote for, and one of the reasons I'm still writing (for different fandoms) today.
I actually still remember what I had planned for this story, and I've decided that since it's now summer, I'm going to try to catch up on the Fairy Tail manga. I stopped somewhere before chapter 400. Therefore, I'm going to ask you guys something: should I continue, but rewrite this story? I've grown both as a person and writer, so my writing has improved, and also it would be nice to pick up this project again. But would you guys still be interested in reading and following this? Leave a comment below telling me what you think!
Also, since I don't want to get in trouble for having an author's note for a chapter, here's a little side drabble:
Happy was not happy. Most of the time, he lived up to his name: he was cheerful, smiling, joking around with Natsu and the other guild members. But right now, he was sulking.
"Lucy still loves you, Happy," someone tries to tell him. "She didn't leave because she didn't like us. It was for her family."
Happy turns his head away. Natsu somehow ends up sitting next to him, in a similar posture with arms folded and bottom lip jutting out.
"Not you, too, Natsu." Eventually, the others leave them alone. They understand. ("You should have confessed to her if you liked her that much, Natsu," Cana teases. She's also drunk, and Natsu ignores her.)
They know why Lucy left. They know it's immature to sulk and play the quiet game. They aren't stupid, or as childish as they can get sometimes. But Lucy was their friend, one of their best and closest, and when faced with the possibility of never seeing her again... well, you get a certain right to be upset when your best friend moves away.
So they sulk, and cry, and the thought that they could always go visit Lucy at her new house never crosses their minds.
("Is anyone going to tell them?" Erza asks after putting up with the unresponsive pair on one barely successful mission.
"Idiots," Gray mutters back. "I wonder how long it'll take for them to figure it out themselves.")
