Epilogue: A New Spring Rain

Tony awoke to the sound of warm spring rain, the room was still dark but the clock read 8:34. He reached over Steve's chest to pull it closer and squint.

"Yes, that's really the time. You slept well." Steve said, looking at him in amusement. Since moving in together Steve had trained Tony into slightly better sleeping habits.

Tony settled back against Steve's chest in contentment. It had been more than a year since he'd first met the soldier. A year so full of love and happiness that Tony was sure he would some day truely wake up to find it had all been a cruely beautiful dream.

"I love the rain." Steve said, pulling apart the curtains that covered the window by the bed. They both lived in Steve's house now. Tony had brought the paintings back to the gallery and people had loved them so much that Steve had been comissioned to paint over twenty more. At Steve's suggestion Tony quit his job with the gallery and moved in with Steve. He now had a play on Broadway and was working on movie script. Life was good, and life with Steve? Was amazing.

"We should go out to the studio." Steve said suddenly.

Tony lifted his head, "Studio? Why?"

Steve blushed, "Wel I ah, I sort of feel like um. . ."

Tony chuckled, even though he'd truely stolen Steve's innocence and gotten him into some pretty kinky stuff the blonde still blushed and stuttered Whenever he tried to ask for sexual things.

"You want to have sex surrounded completely by the sound of rain?" Tony asked, knowing it would take Steve five minutes to get it out.

Steve nodded. "Yes." Suddenly his shy-ness vanished, and he scooped Tony up in his arms and carried him to the back porch that doubled as his studio.

These were some of the moments Tony enjoyed the most, when Steve's desire would overcome his shy-ness and he'd take charge.

Steve gently laid Tony down on the couch where they'd had sex so many times before, where Tony had sat for hours, either posing for Steve or else just sitting there watching him, writing and talking with him.

Tony was still stretched from the last nights activities so he didn't need to be prepped, but Steve still made sure. Covering him with butterfly kisses and whispering sweet nothings and dirty somethings.

Before long thought Tony couldn't wait any longer. He pulled his lover to him, claiming his lips and tongue, kissing him passionately. Steve pushed in slowly, taking his time. Tony growled and bucked his hips, he hated waiting. Steve pushed all the way in and began to move.

The couch creaked and the rain pattered, their moans and pants and unintelligable whimpers bounced around Tony's ears. When he reached his climax the sound of his and Steve's pleasure joined that morning symphony.

"God," Tony panted as they lay side by side, coming down from their post-orgasmic high. "I wish we had recorded that. I'd play that on repeat everytime I got writers block and I'd write about 5 times faster."

Steve chuckled and kissed him on the cheek. "I love you Tony."

Tony turned and found the other man's lips. They lay there like that for a long time, wrapped up in each other, just enjoying one another.

"I love you too Steve." Tony whispered as he settled against Steve. They would have to get up at some point, but neither was in that much of a hurry. They had years to live yet, and both of them knew, everything is fleeting. But a love like this? will always survive.

Well There you go. Sappy sappy sappy, per me! of course it's sappy, I'm the Master of Sap! Anyway I hope you enjoyed this little something. Below is sort of the commentary on how it came about, if that interests you.

Author's Note:

So, about this story and it's inspiration. I recently decided that I would watch all the Chis Evans and Robert Downey Jr. movies I could get my hands on. One of these movies was 'Wonder Boys' In which Downey's character is a gay (Technically he's refered to as Bi-sexual though just to be clear.) editor who is in town to check up on his star writer and ends up going after the writer's star student, a troubled young man who turns all their lives upside down.

His Story is simply subplot but it caught my fancy for two reasons. One was that the basic idea (Guy from out of town meets someone he immediately desires who is a creative person,) would be absolutely phenomininal if I changed it to an Art dealer going to see an artist he would often buy from. The second was that the kid (a college student really) He goes after is played by Toby Maguire, that's right, the guy from the older Spider Man movies. Of course when I realized this I had to pause the movie to laugh my head off... but then I took it as a sign that this must be written! It also had me considering for about two seconds if Tony and Peter could be a thing. . . I quickly decided it could not.

And so this was born.
