A/N – There is no excuse for how long it has been since I have updated this story. There isn't even a weak excuse I could give to you to try and explain how I was really busy or something else. Instead it comes down to pure writers block. I knew what I wanted to write but couldn't get it to look right so it just wouldn't come together. In result you get a frustrated writer who wrote an undeniable filler chapter in hopes this will kick start me back into the story that sadly I have kind of lost though out the small hiatus.

I am so sorry for such a long delay for this chapter.

Discalmer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Sorry for the fillerness, and small amount of dialogue and just general shortness, its under 2,000 with A/N'S and everything. Hopefully I get a new chapter up before the end of next week, which should with any luck have the rescue. :)

And as always thank you to everyone who has read, favorited, alerted, added to communities, and reviewed.

I hope you all enjoy the chapter.

p.s the in between is what i decided to name the place between life and death, in the actual canon it is depicted as Kings Cross (something i feel is because of King Crosses significance to Harry) here it is something different.

Godrics Hollow,

Late Night Halloween 1981

One should not underestimate the power of relief after fear has controlled one for too long. Eleven long years of war. It took up almost all of there life, schooling, family relationships, friendships, and so much more. All over in one shining, well more like fiery, moment of relief. A high of euphoria set in as the small group realized in that moment that now there adversary was no more than a man. That now the rebellion's leader could free them all with a single curse.

The way they gated though the town, screaming and hollering. Yelling out in pure joy at the weight that had been lifted from them surely turned some heads. James, the one who was feeling the most magical exhaustion, had his arms swung around Sirius and Remus legs dragging the ground as he yelled to the skies. It was over, everything was over. They would be able to raise Harry safely, every single parent would be able to do the same thing.

"We did it," he exclaimed for the umpteenth time as he pushed himself to his feet and staggered down the road a bit to where Lily and Petunia where. Lily was already sobbing, happy tears, and Petunia had a glaze in her eyes as well. James swung his arms around his wife lifting her up.

"It's almost over Lils, It's almost over." He said pressing his face to hers in a kiss that radiated relief. When they came across the cottage James burst though the door swinging it open with a yell of "WORMTAIL." The majority of the house did not look touched. There was no forewarning as one would expect.

No fire, no smoke, just a facade of normality that had them all fooled.

"Wormtail, where are you?" He called once again. Sirius entered behind him changing quickly to Padfoot and tackled James to the couch.

"Padfoot, paws of the furniture," Lily said with little conviction. Sirius changed back before rolling to James' left with a laugh. Remus fell into the right side of the love seat next to Petunia who was curled on the left. Lily laughed at the antics before slipping down next to James.

A few minutes passed before James called for Peter again and got no answer. Five minutes total passed between the time James Potter walked bast the front door and when he got to the second landing expecting to see Peter passed out in Harry's nursery (it was a common occurrence). It only took seconds however for the feeling of relief he had to crash to his gut and send him barreling forward onto all fours. Peter's body still lay on the floor looking exceedingly alive if not for the glossy texture to his eyes and paleness to his skin. A black robe lay next to the man and in front of that, James' arms gave out from under him sending his face into the carpet.

"Harry," He whispered, his voice broken as he pushed himself forward holding tight to the baby who laid on the ground body contorted in a way that Told James all he needed to know. He pulled the lifeless child into his arms as he sobbed. "Daddy's so sorry Harry, Daddy's so very sorry."

Interrogation Room, Ministry of Magic

Afternoon December 9, 1983

Sirius Black stared blankly ahead of himself body rigid and unmoving. He couldn't yell, his body wanted to scream and fight, to promise what ever heartless bastard was behind this would see the green light at the end of his wand when all this was over. But he couldn't seam to do any of those things. He had seen the powerlessness on Remus's face as he held tight to a crying Lily, saw the frozen fear on Marlene's. He could hear the slowly ebbing insanity in his best friend's voice as James rocked back and forth ever so slowly shock finally settling in as he held his arms the same way he had been when they had found him in Harry's nursery just over two years ago.

"Daddy's sorry Harry. Daddy's so very sorry." Auror Hawlish walked into the room his face set in an odd mixture of anger and pity.

"Auror Potter, Auror Black," He said his voice wavering slightly he took a deep resigning breath closing his eyes and offering two small glasses of water he transfigured the next moment.

"I have a few questions for you today." He said and Sirius nodded.

"As you know St. Mungo's had been attacked..."

Auror Hawlish turned around and walked back through the door he came though.

"This if f**king insane." Sirius could hear before the door closed.

'Agreed' Sirius attempted to say, but still couldn't find the words.

St. Mungo's Hospital,

Afternoon December 9th 1983

Mary McDonald sat stoic in the hospital room holding tight to a blue blanket. Most would take her silence as shock, as grief, when in fact it was neither. She was processing. Harry was petrified of most people and had a unbelievably strong magical core. His accidental magic should have pushed back who ever came after him. Doctor Franklin ended up with a fractured elbow because of that accidental magic.

Someone getting close enough to take him was practically unfathomable to Mary. She had already checked the boys closet three times only to find it empty.

"Mary," she heard the relief hidden in the regal tone she closed her eyes and took a deep breath trying to control her budding emotions.

"It's not right," she said turning to Regulus her voice not breaking but damn well close to it. Regulus moved to sit next to her.

"Mary," the voice was now soft as if he thought she was seconds away from a melt down. He wrapped his arms around her and pushed her head softly down to rest against his shoulder.

"It's not right," She whispered.

"I know."

Undisclosed Location,

Afternoon December 9th 1983.

Remus Lupin knew quite a bit about scar tissue. As one would undoubtedly expect, after all his body was covered in about equal amounts scar tissue and skin tissue so he should. Scars where inherently weaker than skin, both mentally and physically. Scar tissue is weaker more fallible. Some scars are harder to deal with than other scars however.

Falling down and scraping your knee is easier to handle than cutting open your leg because you slipped though the disappearing stair at Hogwarts and both are easier than loosing someone close to you. Friend, family member, doesn't matter there loss hurts deeper. Cuts farther and scars much more weakly.

Watching Lily collapse around herself in a sob tore at something in Remus, it tore at his heart to see her broken almost as much as it tore to see Harry loss again. He was fighting Moony's voice away from his consciousness. The voice that was yelling at him because of his inaction.

"CUB HURT, CUB SCARED, GET CUB, GET CUB!" Remus took a deep breath trying to keep the, recently more persistent, wolf from his conspicuousness. He anchored to the voice of Lily who was sobbing uncontrollably in his arms. A more logical part of his brain was yelling in tandem with Moony telling him to console her in some way. Remus didn't really know what he could say though. He wasn't good at this stuff.

"Remus," The voice started as no more than an soundless mouth movement then broke slowly into a practically silent whisper. Remus heard the whisper and turned to face Marlene who was shaking on her own right.

"Marlene," He said back.

"Wa...wha...whhh..." She said before she fell back into silent sobs, her question went unsaid but still rang clear.

Why, Why Harry, Why again, why did the universes have it out for the Potter family. What in the hell did Lily and James do to deserve this. No one deserved this.

NO one deserved this.

The In-between.

Freak named Harry curled tightly in the brightly colored space of his cupboard he curled up tightly in the corner trying to will away this new pain he felt. The scar on his head was bleeding and was hurting worse than any of his old beatings. Soft whimpers came from him as his eyes began to close of there own accord. Before they fluttered closed one last time saw something approach from the distance.

"You have been so brave." A soft voice said as the something turned into two figures walking at him from the distance. hospital?

"You can't fall asleep yet Harry, you have so much more to do my darling." another voice said as the figures began to take shape. To freak they looked like the Mummy and the Daddy, he moved closer, had the mother come for him. Had she come to take him back to the hospital, he liked the hospital very much. It was much better than the rooms he had just been in. The woman knelt down before him and raised her hands as if to take his head between them.

"Harry, you are so loved. Mama loves you. Dada loves you. Harry, be safe. Be strong." Tears weld up in her eyes as her lips hovered over the small scar that jagged over his forehead. Leaning down she pressed a small kiss to his forehead and he was bathed in a eerily green light. He closed his eyes to shield from the brightness.

"Your are strong," the voice from the dungeons said as Freak named Harry opened his eyes. The other boy was no longer in the room, instead it was just the girl had fat child like tears in her eyes. Her arms where wrapped around him as she held him tight in her lap like Dudley held his teddy bear when he was scared. Freak named Harry wondered why she was so scared. "Very strong, maybe that's why your special."

A/N – Once again I apologize for the lateness and shortness of this chapter. I Hope you all enjoyed it anyways.
