(Shadows P.O.V.)
"NO!" I cried as she began to disappear into the sky. I fired my gun first above her, then I attempted body shots. With a yelp she dropped, her wings closing. The strange inky substance appeared again, and she disappeared as she fell through it. I turned to Sonic, i was positively livid. "You ASS, dont just stand there!"
Sonic who had been gawking like an idiot suddenly grabbed his head. He regained his composure quickly though, looking at me and quipping; "Sticks and stones Shadow." But he took off all the same. I groaned, and took off in my own direction.

I dropped onto a nearby roof as quietly as possible and assessed the damages. Thankfully I didn't see any wounds at all and I let loose a sigh of relief. I quickly coved my mouth and stood as still as possible. I listened in all directions, knowing my pursuerers well. I waited for what seemed like hours, and removed my hand only when sure that I hadnt been discovered.
"Are you finished running?"My blood ran cold and I refused to turn around. Though I knew who it was.
"Shadow..." I said quietly, I turned around and he notably stiffened.
"Again with the name, mind telling me how you know-"
"Awwwww, Shads, you found her first?No fair." Sonic intterupted, skidding to a halt beside Shadow. His point had been reached, he punched Sonic with nearly all of his force.
"You are seriously getting on my nerves!" He shouted, his voice growing in power as the sentence ended."Now try to stay quiet." He turned his attenton towards me once more.
"So...will you choose to comply?" He held his handd out and i shrank back, ready to disappear one more if need be. I shook my head and backed away a few spaces. In turn he took a step in retaliation,I figured that if i werent careful this chase would go on a lot longer that hoped it I would.
I looked at him, I was downright fearful of the reprecussions, but I needed his help. This universe, this space, this dimension, where different choices were made. I must protect the people from the immenent disaster that threatens their very way of life and being. But as I looked at the outstretched hand I felt that maybe, just maybe...
(Shadows P.O.V.)
She slowly started to extend her hand, tentive in every movement. Each second was agaonizing, as the possibilities grw within my mind. How does she know my name? Maybe she knows something more about my past that i hadnt before. Maybe she can tell more about Maria, what if...maybe, just maybe...
But all too soon she pulled her hand back to her side, and shook her head.
"This isn't how its suppsed to be, I wasnt supposed to interfere with this dimension, just handle my buisness and leave." She whispered, gazing at the floor.
"And what exactly is your buisness exactly, miss...?"Sonic asked, rolling his hand in a gesture for her to continue.
But again she shook her head, "It doesn't matter, we should be meeting like this, this isnt how things are supposed to-" Her ears perked and her head snapped up towards the sky.
"No..." She breathed. "Its starting already..." I followed her gaze and saw a bright twinkling light growing slightly with every second. I turned back to her, and she met my gaze evenly, though fear was spackled all over her face.
"Please, call Sally, I'll go back with you and explain everything, but we must prepare. HE'S coming..."
Sonic laughed, "Whoever it is we can handle it, we've fought tons of ego-maniacs before. This will just be another one in the filing cabinet." Sonic brought his finger unfer his nose in a smug expression. While she clasped her hands in front of her, "I'm so sorry..." Her wings unfolded and I heard Sonics breath catch in his throat. I was losing time, she was on the brink before, maybe i could convince her. I am NOT about to fail a mission per incompetence of myself OR someone else.
I held out my hand once more, "Please, come with us, we can help you. Whatever this threat is Im sure G.U.N. or the Freedom Fighters are more than willing to help. I'll make sure of it."
Her eyes saddended upon hearing this, and her eings took their hiding space behind her back. "I could never say no to you whenever you spoke to me like that Shadow," She chuckled "Or you Sonic."
Sonics eyes grew wide at this pointed a finger at himself, "Me? You're 100% sure that speaking about ME right? Because I have never seen you before in my life."
She laughed and walked up to us, my postion switched to a defensive one and I immediately grew tense, and from the corner of my eye, I could see Sonic had too.
"I already said that i would explain everything later, now if you'll excuse me..." She brought both of her hands together in fron of her and spread them as if opening a curtain. The inky blak substance had appeared once again and she walked through it.
My heart lept, 'She was trying to leave again!' I made to run after her when a hand appeared and gestured for us to follow. I turned to Sonic who was immediately aprehensive but he laughed and followed her suit. I being the more precautious one immediately began plotting any and escaqpe routes in the case of ambush or being stranded somewhere or-
Sonics head and arm flung out and he gave me a look of annoyance. "C'mon slowpoke, everyones waiting." He grabbed a tuft of my chest fur and pulled me through.
