On his walk, Tsuna contemplated his situation. He has now come to the conclusion that this is a parallel universe. Tsuna's mind whirls as his cognitive gears try to assess what is going on. Soon enough, Tsuna arrived to a rusty, 1 story building. The wooden hinges on the front door were moldy, and looked like they were about to break any second. His face morphs into an expression of disgust- after all, no respectable mafia boss would ever be caught in the lowest part of town. Reborn would kill him if he did.
Tsuna side-stepped to the right side of the building, and scanned the dark, shaded area. He soon spots the door that he was told of and cautiously proceeds toward it. He wraps his palm around the handle, and takes a deep breath. Mentally preparing himself, he pushes open the door-
but it is locked.
Cursing, he impatiently raps on the broken down door, and taps his foot while he waits. An eye appears through the small opening in the door, and looks Tsuna up and down, before swinging the door open, and almost hits Tsuna in the face.
A brunette dressed in sweatpants and a cheap, stained jacket stands in the doorway. Tsuna does not recognize him, although he seems to recognize Tsuna. He stands there wide-eyed as he looks around to make sure there is nobody else besides Tsuna. He hurriedly gestures Tsuna inside, and slams the door shut the second Tsuna's full figure is inside.
As he passes by, Tsuna notes that he reeks of sweat, although his only outward sign he shows is a twitch in his left eye. The man does not try to make small talk, or any eye contact at all for that matter, only hurriedly tries to get Tsuna to his destination. He leads Tsuna through winding staircases and potentially dangerous old steps that look like they could crack at any moment. Tsuna grows increasingly suspicious each step they take closer to their destination.
Finally, the man stops in front of a grand door which looks in a lot better condition than the rest of the building. He nervously glances at Tsuna as he tries to catch his breath, and Tsuna can tell that that man was only a messenger, who has no real position in the group. Only Tsuna is supposed to go through the door, as Tsuna braces himself for the worst. He closes his eyes. He puts his hands on double doors and wrenches them open.
Tsuna opens the doors to find several men playing poker, a majority of them smoking or drinking, as they continue with their game as though Tsuna never even opened the door. He notices that another man is on the worn down couch in the corner, out cold with a newspaper covering his head.
One of them finally notice Tsuna, and lazily gestures for him to come over, similarly to an owner gesturing for the dog to come. As Tsuna arrives at the dirty table, he is able to get a better look at them. The one who gestured for Tsuna to come is a middle-aged, half bald man, who sports a 5 o'clock shadow, downing a stained, ugly track suit (which looked like it had never been used for its intended purposes). Tsuna later learns that this man is named 03, because real names aren't given to lower people. The other two, are an unemployed uncle and his nephew. The uncle seems to be losing in poker, while the nephew sports a nervous look and radiates the feeling of "I don't want to be here."
"You're late Sawada," 03 remarks, while diverting most of his attention towards the poker game.
"I... apologize," Tsuna states stiffly, who decided on the way there to just play along.
"Don't let it happen again."
"Affirmative."
03 continues on with his poker game, while Tsuna stands there, not sure what to do. The nephew, furtively glances in Tsuna'a general direction, but always turns away when Tsuna looks back.
"D*MMIT" the uncle yells. His face turns cherry red as he slaps down his losing hand. The nephew coughs, eliciting unwanted attention from his uncle. The man throws his beer bottle at the wall, filling the room with the screeching noise of the glass breaking into tiny little pieces. The uncle slams his hands on the table as he gets up and stomps toward his nephew.
"YOU GOT SOMETHING TO SAY, HUH?! YOU LITTLE BRAT!"
The boy scrambles backward and tries to get away from his drunk uncle.
"N-no!"
The man lunges toward his nephew with terrifying speed, which could not have come if he was sober, and claws at the boy's scrawny, vulnerable neck.
As Tsuna quickly moves to intercept before something happens, a deep voice booms in the small, wrecked room.
"Xavier, stop it. I will have you thrown out if you cannot control your desire to beat the boy."
The uncle, now dubbed Xavier, freezes his fist mid-strike. He kneels there heaving as he tries to calm down. The boy's eyebrows are twitching with fear, as sweat drips down from his trembling form.
Tsuna moves to help the boy up, opening his mouth to ask "Are you ok?"
But once again, 03 interrupts with a "Sawada, Xavier and I have some... Important matters to discuss. You may leave. Bring the imbecile in the corner with you. He came here to drown out his sorrows, but he's taking up space on my couch."
Tsuna hesitates and moves to help the boy up again, but-
"Leave."
He looks the boy up and down again, and turns to the couch.
He walks up to the man passed out on the dingy sofa, and wraps his arms around his shoulder to hoist him up. Tsuna moves accordingly as he realizes that the man has a broken arm, as he has a cast on him. The newspaper falls to the ground, however Tsuna does not move to pick it up. In fact, he does not even turn to get a good at the man.
Tsuna then swiftly exits out the door. Tsuna wrinkles his nose as he notices the man smells of alchohol, cigarettes, and sweat. They make way to the door, and as they pass through the doorway, the doors are swung shut by the same messenger who took Tsuna to the room. This time, the way out is much more business-like and quick. They are pushed out the side door of the building by the messenger, as the door is swung shut and locked firmly in place.
Tsuna lets out a deep breath, as he struggles to make the man more comfortable to carry. The man stirs, and Tsuna and gently places him on the ground while placing his back to lean against the side of the building.
The man opens his eyes blearily. Finally taking a good look at him, Tsuna is shocked, to say the least, at who he sees.
"Y-Y-Yamamoto?"
