So, yeah, I'll tell you up front, I'm not sure if this chapter is one of the creative idea ones. It's kinda cookie cutter.

"Chrom?" Robin said, outside of the royal tent. He had asked Sumia where he could find Chrom, and she said he was 'set up' in the tent.

Robin was hesitant about what 'set up' even meant. Whatever it was, it was probably something important. Or it wasn't. It could really go either way with Chrom.

"Come in, Robin." Chrom called out somewhat ominously. Robin did so, trepidly entering the tent.

The tent contained what you would usually expect of the royal tent. A slightly nicer bed roll, a slightly nicer chamber pot, a slightly nicer everything. However, the main difference from the other times Robin was in the tent was the grinding wheel that seemed to have been moved into the tent from the armory. Chrom was seated by the wheel, working it with his foot and sharpening the Falchion.

"Hello, Robin." Chrom said, looking up from the sword.

"What are you doing?" Robin asked.

"Oh, you know, sharpening my deadly weapon." Chrom replied. "You know, the sword I use to defend my family and bring harm to those who hurt them." He said threateningly.

Robin remained unphased. "You're...sharpening the Falchion?"

"Yes." Chrom replied.

"The sword that is known for never going dull." Robin clarified. "And is made of the tooth of Naga herself."

"I thought it needed a tune up." Chrom said.

"And you thought it best to move the grinder into your personal tent, as opposed to doing it somewhere where it's less likely to set something on fire." Robin observed.

"I figured it need a personal touch." Chrom replied. "And I'm not going to set anything on fire!"

"Your cape is on fire." Robin commented.

"Agh!" Chrom exclaimed, kicking out the flames on his cape. As he moved, the grinder fall over, along with the Falchion.

"Graceful." Robin commented. "Chrom, what's this really about?"

Chrom stood up and sighed. "I was talking to Gerome today. He asked me for Cynthia's hand in marriage. I gave it to him, naturally, but I felt like the weaker man in the conversation."

"What do you mean by that?" Robin asked. "You could totally beat Gerome in a fight."

"Yeah, but not with that freaking dragon looking over his shoulder!" Chrom exclaimed.

"It's a wyvern, but I see your point." Robin said.

"I guessed why you wanted to see me today. You and Lucina have been dating for a longer period than anybody else in the army."

"It's been a few weeks." Robin said. "You're not wrong about how it's longer than everyone else, but that says more about you guys then us."

"The thing is, I wish I could be the one to protect my children in some way." Chrom said. "It's true that there's a Lucina back in Ylisstol and we should be expecting a Cynthia to come along in a few years, but all that means is that I have four daughters, not two. I just got two of them, and I already feel like I'm losing them. If that's the case, I just wish there was some way for me to make sure the people marrying them are good to them, even if it means intimidating them a little bit. I guess it's going to take more than some simple intimidation to scare off some Shepherds…" Chrom sighed.

Robin looked at his job. "...Chrom?"

"Yeah, Robin?" Chrom asked.

"What's my job?" Robin asked the prince.

"...You're the tactician?" Chrom replied, confused.

"Exactly." Robin replied. "That means that it's my job to know exactly how much of a badass you are. I know how many times over you could kill a man. Out of everybody in the army, I know better than to cross you. I wouldn't last a second."

"Thanks, Robin." Chrom smiled. "What about Gerome?"

"Oh, he's terrified of you." Robin replied. "Really, I wish I saw that conversation. The two of you, terrified of one another. Hysterical!" Robin laughed to himself, before composing himself. "Anyway, Chrom, I was wounder if I could ask you for Lucina's-"

"Yeah, yeah, you're good." Chrom said, waving off his friend. "You've spent enough time in my pity party. Go out there and do whatever clever proposal plan you have set up for my daughter."

Robin grinned at his friend. "Thanks...dad?" Robin grimaced. "That was weird."

"That was really weird." Chrom agreed. "Never do that again. I'd say welcome to the family, but you basically already were a part of it.

"Where are we going?" Lucina asked, as Robin lead her off.

"Somewhere private." Robin replied.

Lucina thought about it for a second, before lightly blushing. "...I don't think Father would approve of us sneaking off in the middle of the day for-"

"I checked with Chrom, and he's OK with it." Robin responded.

"...You checked with Father…?" She asked, skeptically.

"Hold on." Robin said, stopping. "We're here."

Lucina looked around. They were at a sparkling waterfall. The land along the sides of the river the water flowed into was lined with wild daisies.

"Robin…" Lucina said. "It's beautiful."

"Lucina." Robin said, getting down on one knee. "I'll admit it: I'm a show off. I like to do things rather extravagantly, if I can get away with it. Despite that, I spent the last few nights laboring over how I was going to ask you this. I thought I would have to put on some sort of show to impress you and show you how much I loved you. Then I realized that would be more for everyone else then for you. I suppose that's what our relationship is based off of. You saw through the walls I set up. You weren't phased by some of the random bullshit I said. You saw the strange, anti-social man I was and you fell in love with him. You didn't fall in love with my power, or my looks, or some random dark power you sense lurking deep inside of me. The fact that you could do that is reason enough for me to love you."

Lucina gasped as Robin took out a small box.

"It's funny." Robin commented. "On that day, when I woke up in that field, I had no idea who your father was. However, when he asked me to join the Shepherds, I realized that that was the best thing I could do with my life. I could dedicate it to using my talents to protect others. I didn't really have to deal with others, but I would defend them to the best of my ability. And I have. However, until recently, I always thought that that would be all I would do with my life. I thought I was OK with that."

Robin opened the box, revealing a simple diamond ring.

"Then, one day, I met you, and I fell in love with you, and I realized that I wanted to do another thing with my life. So, Lucina, will you help me do the thing? Get married, start a family, forget the crap both of us have gone through and make some happy memories?"

Long story short, she said yes. A few times, actually, but that was more of a private, celebratory affair.

And they all lived happily ever after.

...Well, they would in any other story, but the story doesn't exactly end there.

This isn't your typical boy meets girl story. Well, it is, but there's the added part where they both meet another girl, as well as a dragon. But let's focus on the other girl...

OK, let me say a complaint about this story before anyone else does: The last few chapters have been more focused on Robin and Chrom then Lucina. I don't know why, but, when writing about this part of Robin and Lucina's relationship, I found myself more interested in exploring RObin's dynamic with Chrom then his dating life with Lucina. I don't want to force anything, so I'll write what I can.

I don't think that'll be the case for the next few chapters. Lucina's coming back as a character. However, I should mention that there are only five(!) chapters left in this story. Also, one of those chapter is a parody of "Fixer Upper" from Frozen because I promised myself I would do that when I named this story. So watch out for that.
