Kaname POV
"If only in your dreams dear Uncle." she said sweetly. "You see I'm quite content here beside Kaname."
"Ah but did your dear brother tell you he isn't really your brother?" He asked and I shot him a glare.
"He didn't did he?" He continued a grin pulling at his already twisted features.
"Do you really think that Mother would leave me so ill informed?" Yuuki asked slightly annoyed. "I know who he is and I understand that you were the one to construct the plot to awaken him from his slumber."
Rido's grin faltered and he glared at Yuuki. "You stay by his side even though he was not man enough to tell you himself."
"I love him, Uncle." she said and a smile graced her lips.
Rido snarled and disappeared only to reappear directly in front of her. Instantly his blood whips were flying through the air we both had to jump away to avoid them.
Yuuki extended Artemis fully and stood at the ready for an attack. Rido glared at her.
"You insolent little girl. How dare you move away from my whips." He growled, rushing forward to attack. "Stay still so that I may kill you!"
"Not a chance." she hissed and deflected each whip.
Her stances were closed yet fluid. Her body bent in ways that many warriors would envy. With each swing she put wounds on Rido that were almost impossible. I suddenly felt very helpless as I watched Yuuki fight.
I could not do a single thing to help her. She could not receive my help. A fresh, inexperienced fighter(though it didn't show) was fighting a deadly opponent. I shook my head of those thoughts and watched the fight trying to find an appropriate opening.
YUUKI POV
I danced around his whips. It was hard due to his stature, allowing for him to have a longer reach. I had to keep away from him in that instance while simultaneously attacking him with Artemis.
Without warning he suddenly disappeared from behind me. Before I knew what was happening I was hit hard in the rib. I heard the crack and flew back.
I skidded onto the ground and hit the fountain hard. I coughed as I tried to get to my feet, blood seemed to spatter all over the stoned ground.
"My my, what a strong will you have." Rido said. "No matter you can be broken easily." He walked closer and closer, his shoes clicked on the cobblestones beneath him.
Time slowed and Rido rushed me. I tried to sit up to deflect his attack but I was not fast enough to counter.
I closed my eyes as he approached. I suddenly felt a wind and the attack never came.
"Yuuki…" Kaname's voice permeated the air. I looked up to see him standing directly in front of me blocking Rido's whips with a single sword.
My breath caught in my throat as I stared at his form. I realized then that I couldn't fight like I used to. Like a human. I glared at my hands for a moment.
"Stand up Yuuki... I can't hold him off forever." Kaname's gentle voice broke me out of my thoughts. I nodded and stood and got into an offensive stance.
"I'm ready now." I said.
Rido had not said a thing as Kaname moved out of the way. Rido glared at him. "Don't be too eager to die you dog."
At that statement I lunged. I disappeared in a flash and reappeared behind him. Artemis was at his throat now. I didn't stop to exchange pleasantries though and pulled the scythe forward.
My heartbeat sped up as a laugh cracked the tension in the air. "You believe I am that easy to get rid of? Well dear little Yuuki I believe you need to be taught a lesson."
I spun out of the way of a whip only to be hit with another in my side. I bit my lip at the pain but turned and blocked another set of whips.
"That sweet smell…" Rido grinned. "It is truly a shame that I must hurt you."
Whips came down from all sides and I held up my hands to put up a barrier but instead something unexpected happened. The air seemed to move around us as though my hand were conducting it, they whips were deflected but not with a barrier.
"What is this?!" Rido yelled. I looked up at him and saw that he was lifted from the ground. I glanced at Kaname who seemed to be even paler than he was before.
My attention was drawn back to Rido as he growled in pain.
"Yuuki… close your hands." Kaname said in a shaky tone. I was confused by this point but did as he asked and Rido's body seemed to compress.
In another moment he was crushed under the weight of air. Blood splattered everywhere, the air reeked of it and that was all I could see.
Rido's body fell to the ground as he coughed up more of the red substance. Kaname appeared beside me and bent to take some of the precious liquid into a vial.
I watched as pieces of his soul erupted from Rido's chest. "Yuuki cut his head off. We can not simply leave him here to die. Someone might save him."Kaname said gently.
I nodded and in one swift move everything was over. Artemis clattered to the ground and I fell forward, exhaustion taking over me.
The last thing I remember was Kaname smiling as he spoke. "You were great, rest now."
