When Soul heard that they wanted to go to the real world, he thought that it was some type of event as the game's PR department have recently begun advertising the '3D Battle Tournament' - which, as you might have guessed, takes place in the real world. However, he thought it was strange for advertisements to take place in the middle of Silver Lake, a place that is normally abandoned by players given the level of most Digimon in the area. Along with the fact that Bearmon looked generally interested in them, which is incredibly difficult to do given how hard it is to lie to a Digimon. It gave Soul enough incentive to not just walk off.
"Hello, Earth to human."
Rubbing his hand through his pink, spiky hair, he sighed. "Okay, tell me what you're talking about, and I might just decide that you two aren't an advertisement."
Demidevimon and Patamon had a sweat drop moment and just started explain to him how they came from the real digital world in order to find and protect someone in the real world. He started getting bored of their story and looked behind them, which is when he noticed that, even though the normal glow of the portal had faded, it didn't disappear and that on the other side was something that made his eyes widen.
It was a beautiful, golden castle in front of a gorgeous, green meadow with green basilisks fitted with skulls and red tattered wings- Airdramon - circling above. Now, most people who play the game might not pay the scene any attention. However, Soul wasn't anyone and has explored, memorized and made his own personal map of the digital world, so seeing a new region complete with Digimon was a sight to behold. Catching his partner's gaze, Bearmon was also shocked.
Smiling slyly, Demi started to go on about how easily humans will get surprised. "Listen, okay, bat brain? I don't care what you say, but the new area is enough to at least consider believing your damm story. Especially since..."

Soul had stopped the video to skip about 5 seconds, which earned him a complaint from Red and Agumon. However, he didn't want someone he only met yesterday to know that his father was one of the game developers. Heck, the only person that he has told was Dream, and that was only because he had a slight crush on her in the real world.

"Okay, great. So at least you have a reason to believe us," said Patamon. "So will you help?" He looked skeptically at the two. Personally, he wanted to throttle Demidevimon for all the insults he had thrown during their little talk. However, he could see the pleading in their eyes.
"If I understand this properly, then maybe if I get you a little sample of your data stored into my D-Phone and I log out the two of your programs should be able to leave the program." Patamon nodded and Soul took out a few strands of fur from Patamon's back. Demidevimon instead chose to offer up a small syringe filled with glowing green liquid, presumably his data. Soul was about to take it when a laugh started from the portal that should have been closed a while ago.
Looking towards it, they all saw a black shapeless blob with glowing red eyes appear on the other side. Demi and Pat quickly flew a little farther from the entity and, taking the example, both Bearmon and Soul took a few steps back.
"Ohhh, fear, my favorite. I've never tasted a human's fear before, though, and I must say that it tastes delicious. Now, what was I hearing about entering the real world?" The voice was almost as commanding as Meramon's own. However, instead of the evil that radiated from him, this voice had more of a jovial side to it, which was ironic considering that the aura of death radiating from this creature could be felt from the real world . It was alarming considering that Soul had basically just explained how to leave the game world.
After stepping through the portal, the creature lunged straight at Soul causing him to tremble and stumble backwards. Trying to keep his partner safe, Bearmon jumped in front of it and was swallowed by the shadow. Soon the cub was clutching his head in pain and screaming for help. Soul wanted to run to his partner and help. However, he got the sneaking suspicion that if he touched it, the entity would have an easier entrance to the real world.
"USE A DIGIMON CARD!" Staring at the scene of his best friend apparently get torn apart from the inside out, he tried to figure out how a modify card would help him separate from the shadow and then it hit him.
"DIGI-MODIFY! Flarizamon activate!" And with a quick slash of the card, Bearmon started to glow. But instead of the normal effect of the Flarizamon Card - the user gaining a flame around his/her body - the dark glow from Bearmon started to form into Darklizardmon, holding the cub by his neck and smirking.
"Now, now, child. I know you wanted to save your little friend. However, couldn't you have given me a more powerful form than this?" That was the last straw, he could handle threats, he could handle getting beat up but NO ONE hurt Bearmon and got away with it. The hand holding his D-Phone started to tingle and he glanced at it. Now was Soul's turn to smirk. He pulled up his D-Phone and thrust it out towards Bearmon and made a loud cry;
"DIGIVOLUTION!"
A purple light was pouring from his hand into his D-Phone, which caused the screen to project a bright glow of the same color. Bearmon's eyes shot open as soon as his partner cried out and was no sooner encased by a sphere of energy. "Bearmon digivolve to….. Grizzlymon!" Out of the sphere burst a purple grizzly bear with a white crescent moon birthmark on its forehead, an angry look on its face and red gauntlets on its front paws and sharp silver claws ripping through the material.

Much to the dismay of Soul, Red scanned the new form of the former cub.
Name: Grizzlymon
Level: Champion
Type: Vaccine
Attacks: Maul Attack, Crescent Dawn
This Digimon's fangs and claws contain a hidden ability that no one knows. Even though its body is extremely massive, it contains the spirit of an honorable martial artist. While its speed is not top class, it can certainly make up for that in the power department with its Maul Attack and, while this Digimon is suited for close range combat, it can shoot a beam a pure white light from its birthmark called the incredible Crescent Dawn. Its name and design are derived from the Grizzly bear.

Grizzlymon charged at the lizard with the help of a speed modifier card from his partner. Bringing up its black flame covered arms in defense, Darklizardmon was ready for the force of the grizzly. However, he did not expect a burst of air slightly dimming his flames. Taking the moment of surprise as an opening, Grizzlymon's claws started to glow a dim red light.
"Maul Attack!" he yelled about an octave lower than his previous form, and with one quick punch to the head, Darklizardmon was sent flying.
"Don't attack!" Soul yelled to the pair of winged rookies. "If he gets your data he might be able to come out with you." They nodded in understanding and flew off. After being granted the few seconds to recover, he stood up and opened his mouth, blasting out pitch black flames.
"Snipe Fang!" How he was able to say that with the extreme mouth burn, Soul had no Idea, but the effects were certainly received as a scent of burned fur was spread throughout the forest. With Grizzlymon ducking it out against Darklizardmon, Soul tried to even the odds with a Ranamon Card, figuring that maybe the 'Draining Rain' attack would help their situation given that their enemy was covered in flames. However, his theory was proved wrong when it just shrugged off the rookie level attack and charged again.
"Dark Pain!" Darklizardmon surged out both arms and had its claws gestured as if it was holding a sphere. At that moment, Soul knew he was in trouble. Grizzlymon, however, countered by having his birthmark unleash its power with a ray of light in the shape of a crescent moon.
"Crescent Dawn!"
As the two attacks hit, they had a power struggle for about 30 seconds before Soul thought it best to use another upgrade. "DIGI-MODIFY! Power Strike Activate!" Soon the odds were in the pair's favor. And that was when Soul saw the second portal. He figured that with the battle they would be shut off from the rest of the game, but since the Hell flame wasn't technically a Digimon, the auto-bots didn't feel the need to use the barrier system. This was all he was needed. "DIGI-Modify! Raptradramon Activate!"
With that, Grizzlymon gained a metalical helmet, his gauntlets gave off a more robotic feel and stainless steel eagle wings formed on his back. "Get him to the portal," Soul explained, "He can't stay in champion form in a safe zone." Grizzlymon smiled, and made a comment involving a few swear words that were blocked out by the system. Soul climbed on his back and they took to the skies. Now with this being a game, most people wouldn't normally feel the wind, but with his family connections in the real world, Soul was in a room that gave him complete control of his avatar using a motion figure system and a neural control attached to his Oculus Rift. It was also supposed to make the game feel more immersive. He enjoyed the feeling for a few seconds before he started to feel extremely warm as his partner grabbed Darklizardmon, kicking and screaming. All of them tumbled through the portal.

"So that's why you were chasing Vi-Elecmon," Agumon said impressively calm while his partner was just gawking at the ended video. Soul figured that it was only a matter of time before the kid needed to be shut up and he figured Dream would have fun while doing it. And even though he had told everything to her at school that day, she thought he was making things up. Now seeing it through her own screen, she seemed speechless until she marched up to Bearmon and started inspecting him as if checking for some disease.
Now it was Soul's chance to be speechless. He asked what she was doing which she replied to with, "A hero is always prepared, you idiot. You said you got the data so won't it be somewhere in those two?" When Soul started to worry, Red looked relieved and groaned with approval.
"At least I know my Oculus wasn't malfunctioning when I saw that shadow." Catching on, Soul fast forwarded to the end of the clip which showed Darklizardmon disintegrating and in the corner was a pitch black shadow leaking out of the incapacitated Digimon. After that was settled, Red decided to ask something that got Soul's attention to return to his crush.
"What were you and Kotemon fighting about when I met you?"
With all of the eyes on her and her partner, Soul could make out the slight nervousness in her eyes only from years of knowing her as a friend. It was clear she didn't want him to know. However, even if she didn't want to tell them, he was going to bring it out of her with his special powers of persuasion, aka blackmail.
"If you don't tell us, I'll tell Chris what you said."
Suddenly, her face was growing redder by the second, a clear sign that he had gotten past Dream to Emily. She waved her glove covered hands and yelled,"OK, OK! Just don't tell him. We were fighting a BlackGarurumon and it sounded a lot like that Darklizardmon." They locked eyes with each other and came to a silent agreement: we should make a guild.
"Neverfail," Soul said which left Red completely lost. Dream smiled and nodded. They turned to the new kid that Soul met yesterday and asked if he wanted to join a guild, to which he replied by jumping into the air and shouting, 'Yes!'. And so it was agreed, they would make a guild called 'Neverfail,' named after the tv show Level UP, and Stop the Leaks, a title also taken from the corny, cancelled show.
