Chapter 13

"Okay Dez you claim that it t isn't what it looks like. I mean you are Austin's best friend. Which means you would never hook up with Ally...right", Trish said to the two boys who seemed very frustrated.

"Right", Dez said. Austin calmed down a little and looked at Dez like he was sorry. Dez looked at him back. "Look guys this has to do with Ally and lately we're keeping her out of everything."

"That's not true", Austin shouted. "I promised her no more sneaking around and lies."

"Then what do you call this", Dez said gesturing to Trish and the bag.

"Well this time we're not the ones sneaking around and lying", Trish butted in. "Now are you going to tell us why we found those there. I mean we trust you Dez...I mean...Austin trusts you...but still, just tell us already." She was started to get impatient. "Do you guys trust Ally", he asked.

"Yes", Austin said.

"Of course", Trish replied.

"Then why aren't you guys asking her what happened and why you found those in her room." Dez was making a good point. They couldn't imagine how Ally felt. Too much was happening all too fast and the fact that Austin and Ally were pretending like the kiss didn't even happen bothered him slightly. "Because then she'll know I took it from her room."

"Why did you take it from her room again. It's not it really concerns you", Dez asked her. And for the first time ever Dez saw Trish blush. He looked over at Austin to see if he noticed but he was lost in thought about Ally most likely. When Dez' eyes traveled back to Trish's face her red cheeks were gone and a scowl was on her face.

"Well sorry for panicking when Ally came back into the room. Plus I was only thinking of Austin. You can imagine we were imagining the worst about this whole Dez' underwear hidden in Ally's room. And now that I know it's yours for sure. I hope Ally washed that thing before I it in my hands."

"Wait...is that a rip", Austin said pointing to it. Dez and Trish leaned in to look at the rip. "Yupp", Dez said and Trish just shrugged her shoulders knowing as much as Austin at this point. "Alright things might not be adding up but I think I can imagine what happened", he said.

"Like I said. Why can't you just ask Ally about it?"

"And what give you time to tell her we're on to you guys or something", Trish said starting to get suspecious agian.

"I already told you guys it's not like that!"

"No he's right", Austin cut in right as Trish and Dez started arguing.

"What", they both said at the same time.

"I think you guys should leave this one to me. Even though you did find the...evidence...Trish. Do you mind? I need to talk to Ally about something anyways", Austin said getting kicking his sneakers against the table getting most of the food off. "Sure Austin. If you think you can get anything out of her", he said.

Austin smiled at Trish and she found that weird. How could he possibly be happy about this? "Wait! Are you finally going to tell Ally about the dreams", she said excited.

"I might. When it comes down to one of our conversations. You have no idea what might happen", he said.

"Good luck buddy", Dez told him as Austin got up and waved to them and walked out of the diner. Trish shrugged her shoulders and sat in the booth next to Dez. "After all that excitement I'm starving", she told Dez grabbing the menu.

He smiled, "Yeah me too. We should order."

...

Ally pulled the door knob of her house but it wouldn't bulge. She was getting frustrating and she was already starting to sweat. She couldn't get Austin out of her head. This kiss kept replaying in her head. She didn't know what came over her or why she did it. She knew it was wrong. It had to be wrong. But if it was, then why did it feel so good?

She gave up and leaned against her door. She didn't have the energy to go around to the back because she ran all the way here from that diner. She wiped her forehead from the sweat. Oh how attractive, she thought to herself. She frowned and slid down and sat on the concrete.

She played with her keys until she just dropped them in between her legs. The way she was tempted to feel his lips against hers. She felt like he was the whole reason she was doing this. Not for curiousity or trust or the partnership. It was because he was always there for her when she needed him. His blonde hair and warm eyes. His smile. Ally was head over heels and she just realized it.

It was all her fault. She would be the one to ruin their friendship. She couldn't tell anyone. She might tell Trish if Trish comes clean with her about all the sneaking but it's not like Ally didn't know everything already. Everyone thought that Ally was absolutely clueless to what was going on, but the truth is that she's been doing a bit of sneaking herself.

The secret meetings, Trish getting in on Dez' and Austin's little secret, Dez having an unknown crush, Austin acting strange every time he falls asleep. Every time they didn't think she was there listening; she was. She was surprised they didn't figure it out by now. She was so close to what Austin's secret was, she could feel it.

But something felt wrong about sneaking around like this. She's been trying to get the gang to tell her so she could stop. But Trish was totally and 100% on their side. At least she thinks they are on sides...Well because she overheard Trish talking to one of them on the phone. It was supposed to be girl-time and she kept bringing it back to the boy drama.

She almost got it out of Dez that time she followed him to the beach. But he got away. Dez seemed to be the only one in the situation that didn't want to sneak around, he just wanted everyone to just tell the truth. Ally wanted the same thing, but Austin was sure keeping his lips sealed pretty well.

"Ally!?" She looked down her block and she saw Austin looking about as hot as she was right now. "Austin?" He looked he was about to pass out so she stumbled over to him. "What are you doing here? I thought you were having lunch with the guys?" He stopped and bent over putting his hands on his knees, trying his best to catch his breath.

"I came", he said taking a deep breath. "To talk to you."

"Well why were you running", she asked.

"I'm not sure", he said still breathing fast. For some reason she found this funny and giggled at him. He loved her laugh, he couldn't help but smile. "Come on nuckle head", she said grabbing his arm and leading him over to her house. They were sure that things would be awkward after that kiss but for some reason it wasn't the first thought that came to their mind.

Ally picked up her keys from the steps and Austin leaned against the railing watching her unlock her door. "Oh now you want to work", she yells at it turning around to give Austin a quick smile. He chuckled and they both went inside. They both felt the cool air from the air conditioning. "Yes", Ally said she closed the door behind him loving the air.

"It feels so nice in here", Austin said walking over to the ac and standing right in front of it. He looked a bit sweaty and Ally felt the blood rush to her cheeks when he closed his eyes and pulled up his shirt to let the air blow on his bare chest. Ally didn't mean to stare but she quickly turned around before Austin opened his eyes. She walked into the dining room and put her keys in the little dish.

Austin followed her in there and she asked him if he wanted any water but he said no. "So...why did you want to ask me so bad you ran all the way over here instead of just waiting until tomorrow", she said playfully. His thoughts were everywhere, even though she was outside her house sweating she still managed to look beautiful.

"Erm...it's about Dez", he said. Ally creased her eyebrows. He had never asked her for advice about Dez before, she wondered what it could be about. She walked over to the living room and sat on the biggest couch. Austin followed her still thinking about how adorable she was. He really was puddy in her hands.

He sat next to her and continued, "Well...Before I get into what happened with Dez I want to tell you something."

"Sure", she said seriously.

"I want to say sorry for keeping secrets from you Ally. Lately it's been feeling like the three of us are keeping you out of the loop", he said making quotes with his fingers. "There aren't any secrets between us but two. And I think we should get them away so there can be no more problems and drama and stuff."

Ally was surprised by from what he had to say. She never expected him to just come clean like this. Her eyes widened and she almost dropped her jaw. She looked into his warm brown eyes and she felt her heart start to flutter again. How could she fall for her partner like this. It was clear that he was doing this to save the friendship. He obviously didn't feel the same way.

"What two secrets", she stumbled out. Austin then noticed what he was doing to her. She seemed so vunerable at the moment. WIth that tiny speech he said he managed to get her to melt before him. He never saw Ally let her guard down like this. "That's what I came here tp talk to you about", he said.

Her face imstantly changed, she had no idea where this was going. "Ally...Trish found something in your room...It was pair of boxers...that Dez claimed to be his...now I'm not saying you two hooked up because that's the last thing I think you would do because you're such a sweet girl. But that's the only secret I know of that you haven't told me. If it has anything to do with what I got you to admit when we were in the practice room. But I just need to know Ally."

Ally felt like the air was trapped in her thoart. She was supposed to be mad at Trish for not coming to her instead of telling Austin but she couldn't smooth around this. She needed to tell him. "Austin", she said after for what it felt like years of silence. "It has everything with what you got me to admit in the practice room."

His eyes sparkled waiting for her to go on. "To be honest here...I've been trying to find out that stupid secret that leads back to the day you said something about me on the phone to Dez. I don't know why it's driving me crazy but it is. I need to know...so I followed Dez one day to the beach when he was talking to himself or you on the phone...or someone about this. I thought he was going to say your secret. It felt so wrong Austin. But it's not like I could come out and straight out ask you because you won't tell me. I mean how are we supposed to trust each other and keep these this partnership when we're hiding things from each other. So Dez started to hear footsteps behind him and he freaked out and started to run from me. I was going to let it go but I heard a crash. I ran over and Dez' boxers were hanging on some guys car I saw him running away pulling his shorts up. I started to laugh when I heard this guy shout to get away from his car. I panicked and grabbed Dez' boxers...I must of not been thinking that night...and raced home. I hid the boxers so my dad wouldn't find them and I sort of forgot about them...until now..."

Austin smirked at her story and he believed every single word she said. "That's so good to know. It's kind of cute when you're a rebel." Ally blushed and he laughed on the inside wondering how he can still do that to her. "That's one secret down", he said. He was prepared to tell her the whole start of this. To think this whole thing started over a dream he had.

He opened his mouth but the words didn't want to come out. He had no reason why this was so hard to do. Then words stumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them, "What was up with that kiss?" For some reason it sounded very playful coming out. "Oh that", Ally said with a nervous giggle. "That was for the camera."

A smirk appeared on his face as he completely forgot what he was about to do. "Yeah right! You so want my lips", he said making a kissy face.

"Eww", she said laughing and throwing a pillow at him. He laughed trying to catch it, the pillow fell on his lap and he pushed it to the side. "Hey you're the one who grabbed my face!"

"I only grabbed it because I wanted to get the kiss over and done with. You were going to kiss me first anyways", she said with a giggle.

"No I wasn't!"

"Yes you were!"

"I really wasn't!"

"Oh my god! I saw you leaning in", she said trying to be mad at him but the smile wasn't leaving her face.

"I was going to kiss you on the cheek. But with that acting Ally, I'm positive we won't be needing to do anymore fake couple interviews for a while", he said leaning back smiling at her.

"Well that's good", she said. The room got quiet again. "Austin?"

"Yeah?"

"Was the kiss good..."

"Actually it was really good", he admitted. They both started blushing really hard at that moment. "Well thanks...considering it was my first one", she said.

"Wait. I was your first kiss", Austin asked surprised.

"Well yeah", she said looking into his big brown eyes.

"Sorry you wasted it on me", he said.

"Actually...I don't mind..."
