I'm back once again! I'll try to get one more chapter out before my spring break ends so enjoy!

"This is my room," Devin said as he opened the door to his bedroom. Annabella glanced around the room and noticed that it looks like a generic boy's room.

"Your house looks so generic," Annabella sighed as she sat on Devin's bed.

"I'm sorry," Devin said, "What does your house look like?"

"Huge," Annabella said, picking up a random object then discarding it immediately, "Anything but normal."

"I see," Devin said as he picked up the item she tossed. "Hey, do you want to play some video games?"

"We're supposed to be doing that science project, remember?" Annabella reminded with a raised eyebrow.

"One game wouldn't kill us," he said as he put the game in the gaming system and started everything up. "Besides, you said we would be done in no time so we can waste time."

"It will still take time, jackass!" Annabella pointed out.

"Hey, I need you to tone down the profanity. My mom doesn't like cursing."

"Okay, Mama's boy," Annabella said with a smirk, "Are we playing a fighting game?"

"Do you like fighting games?" Devin asked with a raised eyebrow. Annabella smiled.

"Perhaps…"

"Okay, then," Devin said, changing the game and handed Annabella a controller, "Are you ready to lose?" Annabella smirk.

"I think you should yourself that question…" The two played video games for a good hour before Devin decided to ask a question.

"Why do you always choose the villain?"

"What are you talking about?" Annabella said, distracted by the game.

"You keep picking the villain of the game," Devin continued, rapidly attacking the why?"

"I don't know, I just like the villain," Annabella explained, "The villain is usually far more interesting than the hero."

"Not true," Devin argued, "Heros are much more interesting than villains because they always win." As he says this, Devin delivers the final blow to Annabella's character, where she throws down the controller in anger.

"Shit!" Annabella yelled then thrown herself onto Devin's bed. "Besides, that's doesn't make them interesting; that makes them boring. Villains are the ones that improve and do different things whereas heroes do the same, exact fucking thing-"

"Language," Devin sighed.

"-And they somehow win, every time!" Annabella finished. Devin got up and sat down next to Annabella on the bed.

"That's because heroes always win, justice will always prevail, and all that extra stuff…" Annabella rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, Mr. Goody Two-Shoes…" Devin had opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Yes?" The bedroom door opened revealing a middle-aged woman with a short, red-headed bob and vibrant green eyes.

"Devin," the woman started, "did you finish your homework?"

"Mom," Devin said, "Not yet."

"Well, I heard your video game so I assumed your homework would be done." Then his mother looked over to Annabella. "You must be Annabella. Devin talks about you nonstop..."

"Mom!" Devin said, blushing in embarrassment, and Annabella laughed at his embarrassment.

"I'm not at all surprised," Annabella said. Devin's mother chuckled in response.

"I hope you have fun tonight, Annabella," his mother wished, "But not too much fun…"

"Mom!" Devin's mother laughed as she closed the door. Devin's eyes were wide with shock and then it returned to normal.

"My mom is so embarrassing…" Devin mumbled.

"It could've been worse, she could've shown me your baby pictures," Annabella said with a malicious smile.

"Don't tempt her, please," Devin sighed, still embarrassed, "We need to…" he coughed, trying to change the subject, "uh, do that project."

"It took us an hour but it's done!" Devin said, victorious.

"I was done in 15 minutes," Annabella said pointedly, "it took the other 45 minutes explaining why I knew what I was talking about and why you were wrong."

"Look, Anna, this isn't a contest." Devin explained.

"Whatever, goodbye," Annabella grabbed her stuff and walked over to the bedroom door.

"Wait, wait, wait," Devin grabbed her hand, "I have to show you something." Devin walked over to the curtains in his room and pushed them opened. It turned out that Devin's room has a balcony attached and opened the sliding doors. "Follow me."

"Why?"

"Just follow me." Annabella gave an annoyed sigh but followed the boy anyway. When she walked out to the balcony, she saw Devin climbing up to the roof. "Up here," Devin beckoned. Annabella sighed and climbed up to the roof. "Don't try to push me off, now."

"No promises," Annabella said as she got on the roof. Devin sat down and patted next to him. Annabella rolled her eyes but sat next him anyway. "What is it that you wanted to show me that you dragged me up to this roof?"

"You act like this was against your will," Devin snorted.

"You are holding me hostage in your house," Annabella said pointedly but with a smile. Devin laughed.

"Please, if you truly wanted to leave, you wouldn't have followed me up here," Devin said with confidence.

"And miss the opportunity of possibly pushing you off the roof?" said Annabella with her hand on her chest in a mocking way, "Dear Devin, how little you know me."

"And I keep trying to."

"What are you? A masochist?"

"And you're a sadist," Devin turned to face Annabella, "See how well we work together?" Annabella laughed.

"No, we do not. I just threatened to push you off the roof."

"I would rather die tonight than live a hundred years without knowing you, Anna." Then Annabella immediately frowned at his statement but this kid kept trying his luck. "See, if you look up, you would see what I was trying to show you." Annabella released an annoyed sigh but looked up to the night sky.

"It's just a bunch of stars," she said in an irritated tone.

"Yeah, I guess you can say that but it's constellations! Isn't it beautiful?"

"You dragged me up here for some stars?" she pushed through clenched teeth.

"Well, yeah, but doesn't it look nice?" Annabella immediately stood up and started walking away but Devin grabbed her hand and pulled her back down next to him. "Wait, please...just calm down. Just enjoy the view with me."

"We're looking at stars," Annabella said, slightly aggravated. Devin sighed as if he was about to give up but looked over to her.

"Why are you always so irritated?"

"Because I have to deal with people like you, Devin," Annabella said, raising her voice.

"Well, if you got to know me better, you would learn that I'm not that bad."

"I won't because you infuriate me," Annabella said loudly.

"You don't think you do the same to me?" Devin asked.

"Obviously not, because you keep bugging me, Annabella said, turning her head away from Devin.

"Well, you do. You infuriate me when you stay behind your walls. You infuriate me when you put my life in danger almost every time we talk. You infuriate me when you-"

"If I infuriate you so much," Annabella yelled, interrupting him, "why won't you leave me alone?"

"Because I like you!" Devin yelled, "Is that so hard to understand?"

"Yes!" Annabella yelled, "I don't understand why! I don't know why anyone would like me! I've tried so hard to make sure no one did!" Devin suddenly got quiet and looked her in the eyes.

"You truly don't know?" Devin asked quietly. Annabella gave an exasperated sigh.

"No," Annabella said a bit calmer. Devin hesitated for a bit.

"You're...not that bad when you get to know you…" He finally answered. Annabella rolled her eyes.

"And you're not a complete asshole. May I go home now?"

"Why do you want people to not like you?" he asked, ignoring her statement. Annabella gave another exasperated sigh.

"This is not a venting session, Devin."

"But why?" Annabella hesitated for a second, mentally cursing herself for letting him get to her.

"Because it's much easier, that's why," she said quickly.

"That doesn't explain why," Devin pointed out.

"Yes, it does."

"Why is it easier?"

"Because I don't have to worry about anyone other than myself, that's why! I honestly don't care for anyone other than myself so it's easier if it's just me. I don't have to worry about their feelings because I don't care, I don't have to worry about about their pain because I don't care. I only need me, myself, and I. Understand?"

"You must get lonely," Devin mused aloud, partially ignoring Annabella.

"I don't get lonely because I don't care about other people," she explained.

"Everyone gets lonely."

"I'm not everyone."

"I know." Devin and Annabella looked over to each other at the same time then immediately looked away. "You know, you're kind of a sociopath."

"Yeah, I get that a lot," Annabella grumbled.

"A wonderful example of antisocial personality disorder…"

"Your point?" Annabella asked annoyed.

"Well," Devin started, "You're very violent and everything else so maybe I can help you."

"Help me what?"

"Stop having ASPD." Annabella scoffed.

"You can't end a personality disorder like that, Devin."

"Anything's stoppable for a Stoppable," Devin shrugged.

"What?"

"It's just...a thing my family says." Annabella gave him a skeptical look then looked up to the sky.

"I'm still contemplating pushing you off this roof…" Annabella said idly.

"You are overly violent," Devin pointed out,"You need help."

"I don't need help," she confirmed. Devin sighed.

"Yes, you do, Anna. Just know that I will always protect you," he looked over in her direction, "Even if it's from yourself." Annabella snapped her head in his direction, at a lost for words while mentally cursing herself for not knowing what to say. Then, when she gathered her thoughts, she snorted.

"The last thing I need is a hero."

"It might be what you need," Devin said in vague tone. Then Annabella rolled her eyes.

"Like you can save anything…" Annabella started, "You probably can't even-" The words suddenly died in her mouth as Devin crashed her lips upon hers. Annabella's eyes widen, not knowing what to do in this situation. Does she push him away? Continue kissing him? Think she's insane for even suggesting the latter? The kiss ended on its own when Devin moved his lips away. "What the hell? Why did you ki-" She was cut off again by Devin's lips. The kiss was abrupt like the first kiss, but a bit softer, much calmer. Annabella could practically taste the mint that was on his breath and wanted to melt right into it. The kiss lasted only for a few seconds longer before they finally separated.

"I, uh…" Devin started awkwardly before looking at Annabella's face, which was now a deep, deep red, a contrast from her normal pallor. "You're as red as a tomato."

"You think?" Annabella tried saying in a rude tone but it came out nothing more than a squeak. This was highly embarrassing for Annabella and her pride, which was killed the instant he kissed her. She didn't like being vulnerable, which came with being a teenager and a villainess.

"It's, uh, late…" Devin started, which gave Annabella the cue to flee the house. As soon as she was at least 10 minutes away from his house, Annabella's hand went up to touch her lips in shock. She didn't believe the event that just happened and now she just wanted to forget it. She slammed her hand against the dashboard of the hovercraft.

"Damn it! Why are you always ruining everything?" She yelled to the rushing air around her. As much wanted to forget, she knew she couldn't forget that kiss. What makes the situation worse, and it vexes her so, is that a part of her doesn't want to forget and wants it to happen again.

Another chapter done! That's all until maybe next week. I'll try to get another chapter out by then but I do have school so I hope enjoy. Remember to read and review and I'll see you next time.
