Okay, guys, I'm back once again! Did you guys miss me in that short time period? No? Okay, than. Either way, let us continue the story of Annabella Marie Lipsky: The Truth Behind Indigo! Enjoy!

"You can't avoid me forever." Annabella glanced over the rim of her glasses to see the boy of her discontent sitting next to her in the school library. Annabella sighed and looked back down to the book that barely held her attention in the first place.

"Watch me," she replied but had no intent of getting up and moving to a new seat. She was fully capable of ignoring Devin though, under his gaze, she wanted to squirm but didn't at all cost. Squirming to her showed weakness; it showed the effect he had on her and she refused to let him win. Devin stared at her a bit longer before sighing.

"Why are you like this?" Annabella didn't answer at first because she was trying to ignore him but chose to give a snide remark.

"Because I can," she said, looking up from the book. "If you have an issue, there's the door."

"Anna…" Annabella looked at book once more. She wasn't actually reading, she was merely flipping to give the illusion of reading. She was actually thinking of the persistent child next to her. It has been more than a month since that forbidden kiss and it has been driving Annabella insane. Rather than showing that she could be vulnerable, Annabella opted for the option where she avoids Devin until he forgets about her. Unfortunately, that was never the case. After 5 minutes of awkward silence, Annabella started to think that this boy fully intended on staring at her until she acknowledged him. "Whoa!"

"What?" Annabella said as she was ripped from her thought process.

"Something just came out of nowhere and pushed your glasses up, like a vine or something!" Oh, shit. Annabella didn't mean to do that. She accidentally, subconsciously, used her powers to push up her non prescription glasses. She needed to draw attention from that little detail.

"Maybe if you weren't staring so hard," Annabella tried but it didn't give the edge she wanted. Instead, it came off as if she was scared and that pissed her off.

"Why are you avoiding me?" Devin asked.

"Why did you kiss me?" Annabella asked instead in a flippant tone but she wasn't exactly sure if that was the best question to ask.

"Because I like you."

"You give me that same bullshit answer every time I ask you a question."

"It's not bullshit if it's true," Devin countered. "I really do like you, Anna…" Annabella looked back down to the book, its contents long forgotten. Annabella was never in a situation where a boy likes her. Her automatic response is to decline but with Devin, she doesn't know if she could. Sure, the kid is pretty annoying, acts like he knows everything when he obviously doesn't, among other faults. There was some qualities that she actually like about him like...Annabella's mind hesitated. What did she like about him? Honestly, like every other person she knows, she finds him annoying so what is stopping her from declining? Maybe she can use him...or something. She didn't know.

"Why?" She then decided to ask. She didn't know why she asked. Maybe she wanted to know why this boy was so persistent.

"Well," Devin sighed as tried to compile a list in his head, "You're smart…"

"I already know this."

"Wait, let me finish," Devin said, "You're smart, you're witty, you're funny when it's not aimed towards me, not to mention that you're dropdead gorgeous. You have a lovely smile when you actually do smile. You have a wonderful laugh when it's not from malicious intent. You also have mesmerizing, rare, blue-violet eyes that look like the night sky when you get that glint in your eyes. What isn't there to like about you?" Annabella rolled her eyes.

"Please, you're making that stuff up and you're being way too poetic."

"But it's all true," Devin said. Annabella then got up from the table where she was sitting then immediately left the library.

"And so, with this magnetic polarizer, I will-"

"Isn't that for cameras, or something?" Indigo gave an annoyed sigh.

"Why must you always interrupt?" she asked a tied-up Kid Vincible. Kid Vincible shrugged.

"You make it so easy." Kid Vincible immediately broke out of the bindings and pulled out the blow dryer grappling gun. "And you suck at tying knots."

"What are you? A boy scout?" Indigo asked, pulling into a fighting stance.

"I was," Kid Vincible admitted, "Until I told my mom I was too old for it. My dad disapproved."

"Oy, you are such a goodie-goodie," Indigo said, rolling her eyes then shooting a blue-violet fireball at Kid Vincible, who quickly moved out of the way. Then Kid Vincible shot the grappling hook at Indigo, who dodged it this time. Indigo then flipped over Kid Vincible and shot 6 fireballs at him along with lunging at him. Kid Vincible jumped out of the way then, when Indigo landed on him, kicked her off. Indigo slid across floor but hopped up from it. Than she aimed a kick towards Kid Vincible's face. Kid Vincible recoiled in pain. Indigo then ran across the room and turned on the magnetic polarizer. The machine started shaking and spinning. "Yes, it's working! Victory is mine!" Kid Vincible grabbed the grappling gun and pointed it at the machine.

"Oh, no, it's not." Kid Vincible then shot the grappling hook at the machine and it started malfunctioning.

"Come on, now," Indigo yelled. Then the machine started shaking uncontrollably before it blew up. "You think you're all that, Kid Vincible, but you're not!"

Indigo sighed as she walked into the lair. She thought doing something evil would make her not think of how Devin is an idiot and how she doesn't want to deal with that boy. Then she took off her mask and plopped herself onto the couch. "Ugh…" Then Dante walked into the room with a book in his hand.

"Foiled again, Hannah?"

"Don't talk to me," Annabella grumbled into the pillow that was on the couch. Dante sighed then sat down on the other couch.

"Maybe you should stop being a villain if you're always foiled."

"I said don't talk to me." Annabella sighed.

"Did you do your homework?"

"Hell no."

"You can't be in advance classes and be lazy, Hannah."

"Yes, I can." Annabella sighed once more. "I can do what I want."

"Whatever…" Dante said, deciding to leave the room. Annabella groaned then wondered why she had to deal with people at all. The next day, everything seemed completely normal. Shego had even came home from an expensive all-inclusive spa trip, courtesy of her kind of husband. She walked into the lair in a very good mood but found Annabella laying upside-down on the couch. Shego immediately pulled out her phone and checked the time. It was noon on Thursday.

"Um, Annabella?" Shego started. Annabella glanced over to her mother.

"Hi, Mom." Shego rose an eyebrow when Annabella continued doing what she was doing before, which was nothing.

"Don't you have school or something?" Shego asked, putting her stuff down next to the door and walking over to where Annabella was. "Why are you here?"

"I didn't want to go to school," Annabella shrugged.

"You can't just decide that," Shego pointed out.

"Hey, Mom, I need to ask you something."

"What?"

"Well," Annabella hesitated, "I have this friend…" Shego accidently let out a snort in response. "Mom!"

"Sorry, sorry," Shego apologized in between chuckles, "I didn't know you had friends."

"Mom!"

"Okay, okay, what about 'your friend'?"

"Well, so there's this boy…"

"Oh, your dad's gonna kill you," Shego interrupted.

"Mom!"

"Oh, yeah. I am supposed to be pretending you have a friend." Shego sighed. "Continue."

"Well, so there's this boy and he's kind of an idiot and he's really annoying," Annabella explained, "My friend want to get rid of him."

"So what's the problem?" Shego asked. Annabella looked up to hands, as she was still upside-down, nervously.

"There's a slight chance she...doesn't want to get rid of him."

"Ah," Shego said in understanding, "I know what this about…" Shego then decided to sit next to Annabella on the couch. "Sit normally on the couch, please." Annabella obeyed then looked at her mother expectantly. "Does 'your friend' like this boy?"

"No," Annabella said quickly. "I mean, she doesn't like him at all."

"Well, what's wrong with him?" Shego asked.

"He pisses me off! He's annoying and bossy and self-righteous and clingy and dorky and so not cool and, and-"

"And you're starting to worry that you're running out of excuses?" Shego finished. Annabella released an exasperated sigh.

"Mom…" Annabella whined. "What do I do?"

"I was in the same situation with your father," Shego started, "As you know, he's a dork but I ended up liking those qualities that I found annoying at first."

"But I don't want to like him," Annabella sighed.

"You don't get to chose who you love, dear," Shego pointed out, "It just happens."

"I don't love him," Annabella said.

"But you like him."

"No, I just find him interesting sometimes. That's all." Shego gave a knowing smile.

"Then why are you hiding out at the lair?" Annabella turned slightly red as her mother's accusation.

"I'm not hiding out!"

"That blush says otherwise, Hannah," Shego said, smirking. "You should just go for it."

"What?"

"Just go for it. What do you have to lose? Otherwise, you are going to be thinking what could've been. If you don't like him, okay then. If things don't work out, move on. If things do work out…"

"I'll end up clawing my eyes out then I'll shoot him in the face," Annabella grumbled. Shego shook her head.

"Just give the kid a chance." Annabella rose an eyebrow at her mother's suggestion.

"This doesn't sound like you, Mom. You sound like you have an ulterior motive…"

"What? No," Shego in exaggerated shock, "It's not like I want you out of the house more often because you always cause problems…"

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree…"Annabella mumbled. Shego narrowed her eyes.

"Look, I don't want to hear your father continue to whine about you burning more stuff in the lair."

"Whatever," Annabella rolled her eyes.

"If you keep rolling your eyes, they'll get stuck up there. And I would watch who you roll your eyes at, young lady. Glad we had this talk." Shego said as she left the room.

"Anna! You weren't here at school yesterday." Annabella rolled her eyes and slammed her locker door.

"Well, doy." Annabella said in a snarky tone.

"Where were you?" Devin asked, ignoring her snarkiness.

"At home."

"Were you sick?"

"No, I was just at home."

"Oh," Devin said. The two then stared at each other in awkward silence. "So…" Devin started, trying to break the silence.

"Don't you have class or something?" Annabella said, trying to get rid of the awkward dork.

"Don't you?" Devin asked back.

"No, I'm just gonna go smoke in the girls' bathroom." Devin's eyes widen in shock.

"Seriously?"

"No." Devin rolled his eyes.

"Don't joke like that."

"But you said I was funny," Annabella said, who feigned being hurt by his statement.

"I think I pointed out that you're sometimes funny," Devin retorted.

"I think I'm always funny," Annabella countered. Devin sighed.

"We need to go to class."

"No, we don't," Annabella suggested, "We can skip it."

"What? No!" Devin said disapprovingly, "My mom would kill me if she found out!"

"One," Annabella started, "The point is for her not to find out. Two, what is with you and your mother?"

"I don't want to disappoint her!"

"Geez, cut the cord, Devin. What about your dad? You barely mention him."

"My dad doesn't bug me much about anything. He just says, 'Do your best', while my mom would say 'Be the best'." Annabella shook her head and clucked her tongue.

"Life must suck for you then."

"No, I'm fine with my life, thank you," Devin said, crossing his arms. Annabella started laughing at his defensive response. Devin looked over to Annabella and stared for a bit. Annabella stopped laughing then looked Devin.

"What?" Devin shook his head.

"Nothing." Annabella rose a skeptical brow.

"What?" she said, urging him to answer.

"I was just thinking...that you're very beautiful." Annabella sighed. This boy never stops.

"Whatever…" Annabella said and started walking away but Devin grabbed her then kissed her. Annabella's eyes widen but Devin quickly separated from her.

"Sorry, I, uh…" Devin said awkwardly. "You kiss kind of weird…" Annabella scrunched her face in response.

"Maybe if you didn't always surprised kiss me, I would kiss normally," Annabella said before realizing what she said. Devin gave a goofy smile.

"What if I tell you I'm going to kiss you?"

"Nope, that's not what I meant by that stat-" Annabella was immediately cut off by Devin kissing her. At this moment, Annabella had two options: Push Devin away from her or stop fighting against that part that actually wants this. Annabella then started kissing Devin back fervently. She was suddenly intoxicated by his scent and taste and wrapped her arms around Devin's neck. Devin's hand slid down to Annabella's waist as she made a sound of encouragement. Devin then deepened the kiss and Annabella released a moan in response. Then the both of them started to run out of breath and broke the kiss. Annabella sighed as rested her head against Devin's shoulder.

"That was…" Devin mumbled.

"Hmm…" Annabella hummed as she stroked of Devin's hair. Devin sighed, trying to gather his thoughts.

"Anna?" Annabella closed her eyes and sighed.

"Hmm?" she responded.

"I'm tired of walking on eggshells with you, Anna," he whispered into her ear, "Please...I really like you." Annabella gives an annoyed sigh but gave in.

"Fine," she whispered, "I give you a chance but no promises that it would last a long time." Devin smiled then kissed Annabella on the nose.

"Is there a chance that I'll get another kiss?" Annabella gave a genuine laugh that was much more gentle and soft than normal and Devin loved the sound of it.

"Not in your lifetime."
