I'm not even going to bother with the formalities.
Firstly, my son may be an idiot, but I love him more than I love myself. If something were to happen to him, I wouldn't be the same.
Second, Yes, I admit I'm too reliant on alcohol, but I'm not a hopeless drunk. A little in need of counseling maybe, but not beyond help.
As for Yusuke and his relationship status, I'll accept whatever person he chooses to be his significant other, as long as it isn't some trashy whore. And, as far as I've seen, Keiko is far from that.
Also, I'm not stupid, I know about my son's "detective job." If some pretty girl with blue hair came in and brought your injured son home and they had a conversation in his bedroom with a closed door, you know damn well you would listen in on their conversation.
Just saying.
