The day was as frigid as broken glass with sharp winter winds biting at everyone's faces with little exceptions to even Hinata who raucously bit down on her quivering lip, " If only I had woken up on time-" She barked at herself. It was like 30 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside and she was wearing what you might ask? A thin pullover jacket she found lying on the floor, a pair of flimsy black leggings she was already wearing when she was abruptly awoken and sandals.. because they were the fastest to throw on.
Hinata shrugged, as she made her way in the "helpful" shade of the large tree coverage at the edges of the streets, only making her shiver slightly more aggressively. "Everyone must be out then right?" She thought. Hinata kept to her pace, a speeding hurl as she enjoyed the awfully beautiful weather.
" Naruto-" She paused as she sighed. "He-he said that I was the only one here-" She but her upper lip, " So, I wonder if he went to pick up his scroll?" Hinata murmured and rose a single finger to her lip. She bit down on it lightly, " Probably.." She bickered in her mind. " Why in the world do I have to go with him!" She stopped in her place. "He's done nothing, but spoils everything!" She bit the words with as much venom as the kind young girl could spew. "Gosh.." She blew a heavy puff of steam as she kicked forward. Hinata could just tell him to buzz off, right? He only worked alone so he would do all the work and leave her trailing behind or force her to see, "How it's done-" instead of actually redeeming herself from the previous "accident" as all the higher ups claimed. She knew her families name had worked its way into the picture, making it absolutely absurd for her to be punished for any other reason then by sheer misinterpretation. Hinata hated this corrupt system, the clans would never change and she would never be allowed to claim hold of something on her own terms. She smirked a bit as she slipped her hands over her mouth. " That's probably why they're sending Sasuke." She lowered her hands to her waist, " Oh yes…" She mocked- " He may be a traitor, he may have once killed his only living kin, and even planned to destroy the whole Konohana village, but hey-" She shrugged. " He came from a scary family, and has an even scarier skill of his own." She thought something ungraceful as she walked up to a familiar curve in the road that had announced to her that she was close to her home.
" At least that bastard made a name for himself.." Hinata thought as she passed up the curve in the road. " I hope he already knows that I'm going with him." She mumbled to no one in particular. She passed a couple large buildings that were okay, to say the least. She knew absolutely no one who lived close to her and she had made sure of it so that any unwanted or unprepared encounters were to be always avoided, with great precision she might add. Hinata finally approached her building, it was huge just as she expected for what she paid in rent. It sat close to the east entrance of the village so it was namely quite here, no trace of the destruction from Paine or rather anything else but the older residents. She was fine with living here, but it bore her sometimes because it always seemed asleep at this time. The only noise that flew around was probably just old folk talk or rather wealth adults buzzing rumors and what not. Hinata reluctantly climbed the steps gleefully as she came to her floor the second floor. There were seven floors in total and she was just happy to have gotten room to even consider how she was going to climb the stairs when she was drunk. She passed the little old couple who were always delighted to see anyone as gave a great wave to her, which she promptly returned. Hinata turned the corner to the stairs as she climbed steady, she gripped the cold metal pole she wasn't dizzy but her head ached to the point where she heard double barks from the strolling dog below. Miraculously Hinata reached her floor she almost stomped to a stop but continued on down the corridor. Hinata's apartment was the to the right, the sixth room and she took her sweet time as she plucked out a familiar stack of keys from her pocket. Hinata flipped through them firmly until she reached her front door, Hinata paused as she continued to forge through the stack. Finally, she found the shiny golden key she dangled it with delight, " My motor skills aren't that shitty-" She paused for a moment looking at the door.
It was open. Not thrown open to notice it but she could make out the cracked just a smudge, " I could have sworn locked this before?" She thought still Hinata brushed it off. "Maybe I was a little off then?" She pondered still she pushed open the door with extreme care, flipping on the lights as she expected the place to be rampaged, but to her surprise, nothing was out of place in the living room so she ventured on to her bedroom. Hinata poked her head in, then slowly parted the door further just enough for her to slip in and shut the door quietly behind her. Then as fast as she could, Hinata switched on the light illuminating the well-furnished room, her bed sat unmade as she had expected. Her nightstands held its preferred pens, and lighter, her closet was still thrown open from her earlier dash, her bathroom door as well. She sighed, " I did guess I did just leave it open." She hummed; settling her nerves. Hinata jumped to her bed spreading her face down she laid as she sighed, " I don't want him close to me.." She wrinkled her nose, " I thought I would never ever have to face him ever since then." She rolled her eyes and scratching her cheeks as her face burned red, " He did it in front of everyone." She whimpered.
Hinata stood facing her couch. She had packed everything she would need, right? Toothbrush? Check. Anbu clothing? Check. Comb? Check. Shoes, knives, coat, scarf, paper bombs, gloves, a change of clothing, scroll, mask, and money? Check.
" I guess-" She pondered, " Oh." She paused in remembrance, " My headband, right?" She thought. " Now where did I leave that trash?" She grumbled lowly. Hinata went back to her bedroom inspected her now well-folded sheets, a lovely ivory trace pattern with matching stain white pillows, and an elegant ebony headboard. " Not on the bed." She traced her eyes on the over to her bookshelf, it's cherry wood appearance let the bland colored books shine, " Not there." She let her eyes flow to her closet, " Haven't even been in there in a week." So she turned her gaze elsewhere straight ahead to her nightstand again nothing sparked, irritated she pressed her eyes closed. Within a split second Hinata had begun her hand signing it was quick or rather quicker than when she had first learned it but the veins still bulged from around her eyes just like then enhancing her sight. She turned her head upwards as she checked her bed, her shelf, desk, closet, the bathroom as well, " Nothing." She slumped down on her bed, defeated. Hinata looked at over her to her nightstand again quickly yet she caught glimpse of what was in the small drawer. Puzzled, she slowly slid it open observing it's shiny metallic head, " I swear.." She knit her eyebrows together, " I've never once used that drawer." She thought Hinata took up the silvery item slipping it in her pocket as she stood quickly exiting the room. Hinata starred one last time into the room, observing everything before slammed the door behind her shut making it out as fast as humanly possible to her living room. She lowered her gaze releasing the sign as her eyes faded back to it normal sight. She zipped it all up in her backpack, this time making sure everything she needed was inside. She gleamed at the thought of finally being prepared, maybe even over prepared. She toppled to her couch sighing at its lugubrious comfort, but at the thought, Hinata sat up. She bit the inside of her mouth with a fierce grip, she dug her hand into her pocket. The metallic end fell on her hand, as she wrinkled her nose at the sight, " I may hate you." She spoke to it softly, " But you've given me everything I love, and loved-" She let a thin smile come to her lips, but it soon deflated, " and you've also taken most of it away- but I guess I should just hate myself the most for still working for you." She said letting out a wheezy sound as she gripped it tightly with both honor and shame. Taking it up she harshly strapped it to her neck, " As long as the village needs me-" She smirked a bit knowing she wasn't the only one who has felt this way, " I will do my duty." She let her smirk fall and a more determined smile rose. She took up her bag, letting it rest on her shoulders, as she slipped out of her apartment and into the bitter cold. " Okay, maybe I need that jacket now." She thought.
They sat in the middle of an old-fashioned Japanese room, complete with tatami floors, translucent sliding doors and a large kotatsu in the middle that draped a seemingly soft blanket. Mikoto and Mrs. Hyuga conversed about the recent chilling weather both thankful for the warm table that awaited them.
" So, how.." Sasuke sat up scratching his cheek a bit, " How old are you again?" He asked a small grin in place as he tucked the blanket around himself. Hinata rolled back to her mother's side speaking quietly,
" Six.." She muttered, barely audible to anyone. Sasuke stared at his Mother and back at the girl, seeing this Hinata's Mother rose,
" She's six, and very quiet, speak up sweetheart-" Her mother sang in a lovely melody as she pointed out, " Or you'll be left behind." Hinata gave a curt nod.
" Ha! Mum?!" He asked, giving Mikoto a devilish grin.
" Yes, honey?" She asked, looking at the bubbling boy.
" I'm older than her! Does that mean I can boss her around a like big brother?" He asked, eyes gleaming at the frantically giggling mother,
" N-hah-o, Sasuke.." She wiped a tear that had formed, " She'll be turning seven in December, so then you'll be the same age again."
" Yes, Sasuke..." Mrs. Hyuga announced, " Now go on, and play." She said, taking Hinata by the hand as she leads her to the waiting bubbly child.
" Hi, Hinata!" Sasuke proclaimed. " You'll be like my little sister-" Mikoto cut him off,
" No, nothing like that.." She lowered her head.
" Yes, think of her as a team member?" Mrs. Hyuga suggested looking at them both.
" 'Kay." Sasuke solution he pointed to himself, " I'll be the leader, you'll be my backup, got it?" He asked, Hinata frowned, but quickly nodded.
" Y-yes." She mustered head hung low.
" Okay, now.." He pointed to the sky, "Let's go build a snow!" Hinata's eyes widened.
" Playing in the snow is for C-children-" She stopped as he flashed her a menacing look, " A-and us too." She sprang up in fear.
" I thought so." Mikoto gave her child a scolding look,
" I told you to play it nice." She mumbled under her breath, giving Sasuke an enormous aura his eyes enlarged in horror.
" I'm the leader?" He asked, to which Mrs. Hyuga shrugged off,
" Yes, now go.." She waved both of them off, "I and Hinata's Mother have much to discuss." She added a be safe but Sasuke had just practically dragged Hinata from her spot and pushed her out the door, with him leading.
" So, future-in-law?" Mikoto asked, to which Mrs. Hyuga gave a pressed lip smile. " When are the drinks coming?" She asked winking a bit.
" Soon, but?" She paused looking out of the open screen doors,
" What?" Mikoto asked following her gaze.
".. I wonder.." She shook her head, " Which one will start to ask questions? I mean- " She shook her head, " Seeing Sasuke, he might just already like Hinata.." She looked at Mikoto who smirked,
" Probably-"
" We are forcing them to-to get-" She stopped herself, head hung low. Mrs. Hyuga rose a hand to her face covering u her shame,
" What do you think we'll call their first baby?!" Mikoto asked giving her an eye, Mrs. Hyuga sprang at the sudden question in wonder but excitement.
" Depends?" The pale-eyed women beckoned, biting her lip looking back over to the dark-eyed woman.
" On what?" Mikoto asked as she gave her a, " What do you know, that I don't" look.
" If they get the Sharingan or byakugan." She pondered for a moment as the entrance door slid open,
"Your drinks, Mistress." The young man announced,
" Just leave it there." Mrs. Hyuga pointed to the ground in front of them, " Oh, and please hurry with the food, the children will be upset if it's not done soon." She spoke gently to the man, who gave a curt nod and slid the door closed. The pair heard the light steps fade,
" Why not both?" Mikoto replied brow risen, Mrs. Hyuga smirked at the thought.
" Why not both." Mrs. Hyuga agreed to pull in the tray of sake.
To be continued...
Well hello there you've reached the end of this chapter, congrats I hope you had a wonderful reading sit? If not, I do so very much apologize. -But was it my writing? Spelling? Grammar in general? Please let me know so I may fix it! Am I wrong, tell me? I really care. But besides that, I honestly want some raptors, like Blue, Delta, maybe Charlie? Heck even Echo! Hmm... I just rewatched the movie and was still angry... The T-rex and Raptors are like my all, and to see them both get hurt? Well, that hurt me... I know they're wild animals, but hey I can love something, right? Geez, and now I'm gonna rewatch the Hobbit because I want to. Yeah, I do what I want! So, what? Okay I'm getting off topic, and I do that a lot lately, so umm... I want to go to the bookstore, but like I still have to do my driver ed course online, and I sleep all through the day, so like I don't want to read boring stuff at night, so I'm totally trying to preoccupy myself with movies, until it's a reasonable time to sleep, like 6 pm, right? Then I'll slowly start to change my sleep schedule... Yeah... Thanks for reading sorry if you read this, and now think I'm an idiot, but hey just tell me what you think, then I'll think of a way to fix it, and then we won't have trash! Yah! No trash!
Thank you! Sorry for my Bull-avv90
