So this chapter will kinda show why and how Xavier became evil in the first place, and I wanted to write it all out before I forget. Enjoy!

Natsu's POV

As Lucy fell asleep, I carried her to Wendy, so she could treat her. Erza, Gray, Gramps, and Mirajane all surrounded Xavier probably wanting to question him.

I walked over to them because I was furious at what he had done to Lucy.

"HAHAHAHA! You think you can defeat me? I will take over this world and you won't interfere my plans any longer!" His face showed how much darkness had taken over him.

"Requip! Heaven's Wheel Armor!"

Suddenly, swords appeared out of nowhere and pointed directly to Xavier. His face immediately became pale and sweat started to cover his face.

"P-please.. d-don't..hurt me..please." He said weakly as his eyes started to water with tears.

We all looked at each other in confusion. Why was he crying?

"I'm sorry...please.. forgive me. I just want to see my family again."

Suddenly, I remembered Igneel and how he left me. I guess everyone could sympathize with him...kinda.

"We will let you go... on one condition... Tell us why you did this, and never do it again." Erza said as she gave him a death glare.

"O-okay.."

Flashback

Xavier's POV

I woke up to screams and fire everywhere. I ran outside to find the whole village on fire. Who would do this?

"Xavier! Get out of here! It's too dangerous!"

I saw my parents running towards me while I could see a group of people not far behind them.

"Mommy... Daddy. What's going on?!"

"Nothing, dear. Just get to safety. Damien will get you to safety."

Damien was my big brother that I loved so dearly.

"Come on Xavier!"

Damien took my hand and ran out into the forest. I looked back and saw my parents fighting the bad guys. I knew my parents haven't practiced their fighting in years. Our village was supposed to be very peaceful.

"Damien, what's gonna happen to Mommy and Daddy?"

"I don't know. Let's just get outta here."

I could hear rustling the trees. They were catching up to us. I knew Damien wasn't a fast runner, so I took the lead and ran up to the front.

Men in black jumped in front of us. We were trapped;they were behind us, to the left and the right of us, and in front of us. What could we do now?

"Get outta here Xavier. I'll deal with them. Hehe."

He charged at them. With his water magic, he summoned a wave to wash them away.

"What about you?"

"I'll deal with them while you run..." I didn't want to go though. "GO!"

I ran and ran as tears fell out of my eyes. What if I never see my big brother that I loved so much again? What if I never get to see my family again?

I knew that Damien's magic wouldn't last long. I used my telepathy to find out what he was thinking.

"Water Pulse!" He yelled out.

'I have to protect my brother. For him'

I could hear his yells of determination. I ran more and more as I got faster and faster. Tears ran faster and faster down my face.

'Sorry Xavier. I got captured, but surely I will see you again.'

"WAAH! Damien!" I yelled out.

(Time Skip)

A few years after that, I gave up my magic because I was too depressed.

"Wouldn't you want to repay them for protecting you those years ago?"

I hear a small voice behind me. I look back but can't see anything.

"I am the soul of Zeref. Why don't you repay them for protecting you by taking over the world and showing them how thankful you are."

"No thank you. I don't think I would be a good leader for the world."

"No, you must," he said as I suddenly started to feel darkness surge throughout my body.

"Mwuahahahahahahahaha! I will take over the world." He said in my body. I could no longer feel.

As the years went by, I could see all the bad things Zeref did through my body. He was a truly evil man.

"All I need is that Lucy Heartfilia and my work will soon be completed. Mwuahahahaha!"

'Damien, I'm sorry.'

End of Flashback

Natsu's POV

As I listened to the story, I thought that it was just like Erza's childhood. I look at Erza as she is in deep thought.

"I think I knew Damien during the Tower of Heaven. He was a very kind and strong boy though not the fastest. Right now he joined a guild called the Blue Dragons. I bet you can find him there."

Xavier's face lit up.

"Thank you so very much. I hope that you forgive what I have done to your friend over there."

He pointed to Lucy on the ground.

"It's fine. Zeref was controlling you." I said gently as I held an arm on his shoulder. Tears went down his face onto the ground.

I heard Lucy start to stir. I ran over to her.

"Lucy! Can you hear me?"

"You're so loud.." She said weakly.

"I will never let this happen again. I promise." I hugged her close to me and squeezed her tightly to my chest. I scooped her up in my arms and started to walk over to her apartment where she could rest.

"Wait! Your friend is still in danger. Zeref's spirit is roaming around and will take over anyone to get her.

"I'll be sure that she stays by my side at all times. She wouldn't leave me." I was pretty sure. I continued to walk to Lucy's apartment. I jumped up to the window and leaped inside. I gently put Lucy down on her bed.

"Thank you, Natsu."

"Shh. Just rest for now." I will protect you, no matter what.

Zeref's POV

I will find you Lucy Heartfilia, if it is the last thing I do.

Well there you go. I am sorry about updating so late. I hope that I will have the time to update in the next week or two.
