Chapter .2.
Clara was in no hurry for the day to begin. She didn't care if the Doctor had a surprise for her. She just wanted to be left alone. Clara finally deciding she is hungry gets herself into her wheelchair dressing gown around her.
"Clara I told you 10am", the Doctor says from her kitchen, "Do you want breakfast?"
"I told you to leave", Clara says
"Not getting rid of me. So breakfast here or do you want to go out?" the Doctor asks
Clara sighs, "I'll get changed but we are just getting breakfast"
The Doctor just shrugs. Clara wheels herself into the bedroom and changes in takes her 20 minutes but then she was done.
"I am ready", Clara says making an appearance in the living room
"Now Clara I said I have surprises for you today. Here is your first one", the Doctor says handing her a box
Clara frowns but up does it in it was a silver sonic screwdriver.
"I don't need this", Clara says
"Well you do me the honour of allowing me to push you Miss Oswald?" the Doctor asks ignoring what she said
"Fine faster I get this over with the faster I get on with my life", Clara says as the Doctor pushes her to the lift
"Clara you need friends who understand…", the Doctor says
"How can anyone understand? I can't travel anymore", Clara says
"Well the TARDIS did something for you and I got everything else. If you still want me to take you home after this trip then so be it", the Doctor says, "I bought some friends together in the TARDIS who are dying to meet you my Impossible Girl"
"Your taking me in the TARDIS?" Clara asks
"Yes", the Doctor says wheeling her near the front of the TARDIS
"I can't get in that", Clara says
"Use your sonic. Press the button numbers xx and watch", the Doctor says
Clara looks at the silver sonic in her hands. What was the Doctor doing? Who were these friends? Clara plucked up her courage and pressed the sonic the doors of the TARDIS open and a ramp comes out.
"Go on wheel yourself in", the Doctor says to the shocked Clara
Clara hesitantly wheels herself up the ramp to find the console room all on one level besides from the ramps leading to the west wing and the east wing.
"Let me show you your bedroom", the Doctor says knowing that everyone else was in the kitchen
The Doctor walks down the ramp to the west wing and waits for Clara. Who was still looking around the TARDIS humming in welcome and comfort.
"I still have a bedroom?" Clara asks wheeling herself down the west ramp
"Yes. The TARDIS has placed it next to mine in case you need something. This way", the Doctor says leading her down the halls of the TARDIS
To he comes to a room saying Clara's Room. A silver lock was in place.
"Use setting xx on your sonic to open your room", the Doctor says
Clara does and gasps the room had been transformed to something she could move around in a wheelchair easily. The king bed had a bar to pull herself up onto it like she did at home. Everything was in touching distance ever the light switch.
"There are two light switches the one next to you bed and the one by the door", the Doctor says, "TV and DVD player can be turned on by remote or sonic. Made sure of that. I just bought your new laptop this morning down here and set it up so it will work all over the universe the TARDIS is supplying the internet. I believe Mickey set the computer up to link in with the TARDIS computer and the battery never runs out. Donna, Martha, Jenny, Amy and Amelia have made you a wardrobe with the help of the TARDIS. And it has all the make-up you could ever need", the Doctor says opening one of three doors in the room
Clara wheels herself in.
"It goes around. So you don't have to get help to reach the higher clothes. The sonic does that on setting xx. There is also a button there", the Doctor says next to the big clothes rack the was about as huge as the Doctor's
The Doctor leads her back out.
"The TARDIS has built in air condition and heater for you the setting are xx and xx. But if you can't remember Jack made the remote up for it", the Doctor says handing her a remote
Clara was speechless.
"If you can't reach anything just ask the TARDIS to move it down. She did some of the work but my friends/companions did some too. Your bathroom is through there", the Doctor says to a door
The bathroom was complete with everything she would need to get in and out of the shower or bathtub from. The sink was at her level so where the cabinets.
"The TARDIS and my friends set up an intercom system for you. Just say one of our names twice and it actives. Now your Martha and Donna picked up all your female products they are in that draw I think they told me", the Doctor says
"Who are these companions? And what am I?" Clara asks
"These companions travelled with me with a different face the tenth and eleventh me. You have travelled with me all my faces. Your MORE than my companion Clara like I said. Your my best friend and the person I love beyond others. I will wait forever for you to be ready and as we do don't you think you want to see some places?" the Doctor asks
"I do but…", Clara says
"No buts. Now the third door leads to my room. If you ever need me just yell out or come get me. Now Jack and I took a trip into the future and bought you a wheelchair before you say something it is clocked to look like any wheelchair in the era we visit. It has pockets which you can put all you need in it because the pockets are bigger on the inside then outside. It also has a cooling and heating tired into it", the Doctor says bring out the new silver and purple wheelchair
"Doctor it is beautiful", Clara says tears in her eyes
"On the arm of the chair is a Vortex Manipulator. It will take you where you set it to go. You know how to work it from your time with Kate and the paintings and my past selves. It also has an emergency teleport to the TARDIS. The TARDIS set up a teleport room for you to land in when you use it. What to sit in it?" the Doctor asks
"I will need help", Clara admits
The Doctor smiles, "That is what I am here for to help. Come on lets get you in this more respectable wheelchair"
The Doctor gently lifts Clara out of her old chair and into her new one.
"How is that? I say it is a perfect fit", the Doctor says, "It works over all terrine too. If you get tired of pushing you just use your thoughts to direct it. As it has now bonded with you it will only obey you"
"I don't know what to say Doctor", Clara says crying
The Doctor kneels down in front of her.
"My Clara, My impossible girl. You don't need to say anything. You have put up with my faults in all my lives. I will look after you to my dying breath. As the Vortex has made you like me. So together we have all the time and the world to get used to this", the Doctor says
"How did I change?" Clara asks
"I don't know. But you will stay the same age now till I die. We are linked. Can you hear my voice in the back of your head? That means we are truly linked", the Doctor says
"I can feel it. Good. It will come in handy if you don't want anyone but me to know if you need help. Now I have a gifts for you made from a jewellers far ahead in the future that River recommended I added some touches too", the Doctor says handing her over the box
Clara gently opens it to find a two blue sapphire necklaces that were pulsing.
"That one goes on you. I put an emergency teleport into it just in case you are without your chair. It will take you straight to the TARDIS. It also has a tracking chip encase we are separated. The stones change colour depending on what each other is feeling and sometimes what we ourselves our. So I know if you are alright where ever we go. It can't be taken off once it is locked but by mine or yours sonic", the Doctor says
"Please put it on me", Clara says trembling
The Doctor puts it around her neck and locks it into place.
"I can do yours", Clara says shyly
"Here you go then Miss Oswald will you do the honour?" the Doctor asks handing her his necklace
"I will", Clara says putting the necklace around his neck his was lick a pendent
"This Clara is another present that Jack got luckily at a jewellers. I was going to by one separately. But Jack said this would be more girly", the Doctor says, "And the other agree with him"
Clara opened it to find a silver Vortex Manipulator.
"It is a wrist Vortex Manipulator like Jacks. But this one shows times as a watch would too. The top clock is for earth so you will always know what day and time it is on earth. The second clock is for all other planets. And of course the other bit is the Manipulator. I know you have one on your chair but just encase someone takes your chair you can use that. It locks the same way as the necklace. Can't be taken off but by my sonic or yours", the Doctor says, "It has voice built in phone too that is the next bit. Everyone helped me put their numbers into it. The TARDIS is first, follow by my phone, yes I do have a phone and everyone else's"
"It is so light", Clara says picking it up
"That is what you get from that type of jewellers. Do you want me to put it on?" the Doctor asks
"Yes", Clara says
The Doctor takes the watch out of Clara's hands are puts it on her wrist locking it into place before he could move back and let Clara have some space. Clara pulled him in for a hug.
"No one has done as much as you have to help me. You, the TARDIS and everyone else. Thank you", Clara says spilling tears on him
The Doctor hugs her back knowing she needed it. The Doctor said she needed to feel her emotions more instead of bottling them up. The Doctor was going to put his quirks about feelings aside and do that for her.
"Now Clara I have to tell you I have three living children…", the Doctor says starting the story and finishes with Amelia and Brian so Clara wouldn't be surprised
"Thanks for telling me now I might have freaked out if I had known before", Clara says
"Now Miss Oswald everyone is waiting in the kitchen. Would you like to meet them?" the Doctor asks
"Yes. I want to say thank you", Clara says
"This way to the kitchen then", the Doctor says as they leave her room
"Doctor I still don't know how I am going to travel and help", Clara says
"We will take one thing at a time. Together. Put some faith in me", the Doctor says
"I will. It is still difficult to accept", Clara says
"That's why you need lots of support and all my companions want to help. You have one huge family right here to help you", the Doctor says
They get to the kitchen and everyone in it goes silent.
"Everyone this is My Clara the Impossible Girl", the Doctor says
"Hello Miss Oswald I am Captain Jack Harkness pleasure to be at assistance", Jack says bowing
Donna hits him over the head.
"No flirting. Sorry about him. I am Donna Noble-Harkness his wife. As you can see it is a full time job to make sure he doesn't course trouble", Donna says
"I am Martha Smith-Jones. I am a doctor. I was a companion of the Doctor for a short time. Sometimes I think I am his own physician", Martha says coursing the Doctor to scowl and Clara to laugh
"I am Mickey Smith. Martha is my wife", Mickey says
"I am Amy Pond. It is so great to meet you. Thank you for helping us in the Dalek Asylum", Amy says
"I am Rory Williams. Amy is my wife. Thanks to for saving us", Rory says
"Thank you for helping me all of you", Clara says
"Hi Clara. I am just a hologram. Can't leave the TARDIS. But I can travel back and forward to the Library and the TARDIS that is about as much as I can do", River says
"Nice to see you again River", Clara says nervously
"Clara I am not the Doctor's wife anymore. I am dead. We should have a talk soon. I can tell you need my help", River says
"Thanks River", Clara says softly blushing
"Hello Mum, I am Jenny. Do you mind if I call you Mum?" Jenny asks
"It will take some time getting used too", Clara says
"We have all the time in the world. I am not going anywhere any time soon. You are my first Mum and River is my second Mum. That is the way I would like it to be", Jenny says
"Hi I am Amelia Song and this is my twin Brian Song", Amelia says shyly from behind her grandparents
"How old are you both?" Clara asks
"8. Will you be our second mother? Since Mum is just a hologram", Amelia asks
"It is alright with me Clara", River says
"I guess. As I told Jenny it will take time to get used too", Clara says
"That's ok. We are part Time Lords too", Brian says
"Cool", Clara says with a smile
"Breakfast anyone? I made it. A breakfast before we get started", Martha says
"Where are we going first?" Clara asks
"That is up to you Clara. Anywhere in time and space. You can even stay on earth and see all those places you wanted to see", the Doctor says
"I will think on it. And these my favourite foods?" Clara asks in surprise
"The TARDIS stocked up on everyone's favourite foods. Especially yours", the Doctor says
"The Doctor told us want you like for breakfast. So I cooked it up is that alright?" Martha asks
"It is. But I want to make you breakfast tomorrow", Clara says
"Deal", Martha says knowing they needed to make Clara feel as normal as possible
"When did you all join the Doctor?" Clara asks actually feeling like talking for once
So everyone around the table shares their stories. Clara felt more herself then in ages. But she still didn't feel right. Maybe she had to talk to River. But she would leave that for now. She just was excited to see if she really could travel again.
"Clara I am going to teach. You, Jenny, Amelia and Brain how to fly the TARDIS. So everyone hurry up and we can be off", the Doctor says glad to see a smile on Clara's face
He beat she hadn't really smiled in ages. Looks like the doctors advice was right. Clara needed a supportive network and to let herself feel as normal as possible. While still being paralysed…
