Chapter 15

Across the street the party was going full swing and you could hear the noise from deep inside the house not that Prue was caring. All she wanted to do was stay home in fuzzy pyjamas, a coffee and the time to do some research tomorrow. On the plus side she didn't need to worry about Sam with him Kat's Mom dropping him off later tonight.

With the girls having finished getting ready, Dean and she waited for a couple of minutes for the girls to get their shoes on.

A couple of minutes later and all four of the oldest Halliwells were making their way outside of the manor. The porch light coming on as they left the house and Phoebe closing the door behind her as Dean jumped down the stair all to ready for a party.

"So we're agreed twenty minutes." Prue told the others as she walked down the stairs with her jacket in her hand wearing a dark red top and a black knee length skirt. Not high class but enough to turn heads.

Dean groaned in irritation. He wanted to have a party now drown in Prue's desperation not to have fun at all in her life. He was dressed to impress in his favourite faded jeans and a white shirt,

"Prue you can't do a party in twenty minutes." Piper argued her sister with a roll of her eyes as she walked down the steps grabbing a hold of Phoebe's arms as she walked just so that she wouldn't fall on her ass.

"Watch me." Prue growled out to her sister. Just daring the younger woman to argue with her on that matter.

Dean rolled his eyes at the actions of his big sister. Prue was known for being a party pooper and that even extended to her own parties in which she would be there for seconds before ditching to do something for work.

"Prue's party tips; meet, greet and bail." Phoebe jumped out to her brother and sisters as they all, bar Dean, stepped carefully down the stairs weary of falling especially when the party was just across the street, and all their neighbours would be there.

If anything Phoebe was more afraid of falling in her heels than going by her sister's believes of meet, greet and bail.

Prue however rolled her eyes at her youngest sister, it wasn't like Phoebe had anything that she needed to do the next day while she herself had a lot of work to do for her new job. "Hey I'm sorry but some of us have a job." Prue growled out to her sister while inwardly wondering when it was Phoebe would join the employed.

Both Dean and Phoebe rolled their eyes at their oldest sister because it was just like her to take the fun out of life by bringing up her job.

"And some of us have fun." Phoebe growled out to her sister in annoyance, more than ready for this party and hoping it would make her elder sister at least a little lighter.

Dean rolled his eyes at the fighting women more than used to their squabbles whenever he wanted to have fun. "And some of us have both." He added to the conversation because on second thought he had a job and he loved to have fun.

"And some of us are having a really bad hair day." Piper groaned as she nearly tripped on her very high shoes.

"You know that is a sign, let's turn back now before it's too late." Prue responded as she made a move to go back up the stairs before being stopped by her brother and Piper.

"No." Piper and Dean yelled out as they both grabbed a hold of Prue's arms before the witch could make a break for it. Already one of them had decided to ditch the party and Prue really needed a good party at least once in his life, for all of their sakes.

Phoebe turned to gaze at her sister with a more than cheery look. "Prue it's never too late for a party." She responded and it was something she truly believed because if there was anything that Phoebe Halliwell was u for then it was a party.

"It's never too late." Piper mimicked her sister.

Dean however ignored them all, all to ready for a party even if it was a neighbourhood thing but hey at least he might get the chance to meet a cute girl and get his mind off of Lisa Braeden.

"Remember my sweet sixteenth…" Phoebe suddenly mentioned with a giggly tone to her brother and sisters as she thought of that day with glee never noticing as her siblings all looked to one another with deep frowns on their faces in response.

For Dean he could still remember the bruises he received on Phoebe's sixteenth birthday.

The four witches walked across the road unaware that they were being watched as they went. In between a pile of bushes by the Halliwell manor a Rottweiler spied the four going into a house across the street from their home, his eyes glowing yellow.

Dean and the sisters ignorant of them being watched walked into the party full of smiles, although Prue's smile was more faked than real.

Upon getting to the party, Phoebe was struck by a great idea, something that could help them in their never ending money struggles. "Hey I have an idea why don't we throw a party and charge admission. It would be a great way to get some more cash." She voiced out to her siblings in delight. This had to be one of her more better ideas as they get to party and get the cash in the end.

Unfortunately only her brother seemed to agree with her plan.

Rolling her eyes at her baby sister, Prue faked enthusiasm. "Hey I have an even better idea why don't you just get a job." She jumped out at her sister.

All three of the younger Halliwells rolled their eyes at that one mostly because Prue had been getting at Phoebe to get a job for a while now. In defence Phoebe was looking for a job but after the embarrassment of her jobs in New York she wanted something a bit more Phoebe.

At soon as they entered the party, Dean's eyes quickly became besotted by some blonde in a short dress as he snuck away from his sisters to find his own entertainment.

"Dean?" Prue called out when she noticed that her brother had disappeared the moment they got in the party however she was soon distracted when her sisters dragged her further into the house.

"Oh, the sisters Halliwell now the party can begin." A male voice yelled out as the sisters all turned around to be met with the new house owner and his brother and sister. All three of the new neighbours were a little bit creepy but what are you gonna do.

"Oh it's about time you chick showed." The sister spoke with a grin and a bounce.

"Hey Prue, I'm glad you made it." The other brother spoke as he looked to the eldest Halliwell as if she's hung the moon.

Prue smiled back at the younger brother, trying her hardest to be chipper even though she felt more and more out of her element when she was with the three siblings. For some reason they just creeped her out but then again she did promise to be good. "Wouldn't miss it for the world Fritz." She replied with a smile.

Noticing her sister's discomfort Piper tried to think of a way to sway the conversation some, if only for Prue's sanity against these siblings. "Marshal the place looks great." She suddenly said as she looked around the house that used to belong to Piper's friend's parents.

It wasn't long ago that the couple had left town wanting to get away from San Francisco for a quieter climate, not that Piper blamed them after finding out that she was a witch and her city held a lot of things that go bump in the night.

Marshal, the oldest brother, smiled happily at that. "Thank you. We're mostly just restoring it, I didn't want to change it too much." He rambled as the sisters all tried to follow the conversation and it looked like his siblings were too. "You guys knew the old owners didn't you?" He then asked, breaking away from his rambles.

Phoebe smiled brightly with this being a subject that she actually knew something about. "Oh we basically grew up with their kids. We probably know the house better than you guys." Phoebe replied with a giggle.

Everyone else gave a small bout of laughter at what Phoebe had said although for some it sounded more than a little bit forced.

"Ohoh. Hey how's the bar?" Marshal then asked his brother after finishing with the joke that the youngest female Halliwell had said.

Having gotten the meaning of the words down to a t, the younger brother gave the older a nod. "Oh a dry. I'll take care of it." He spoke with a small apologetic smile to the three woman although before he could make a move his sister grabbed his arm.

"No. My turn." The female spoke with a testy tone as she pushed her brother back a little and turned to look at the sisters before pulling up her finished can and crushing it in her hands in one swoop causing the sisters to give a small gulp, as well as a little bit of joy that their brother hadn't even shown the slightest bit of interest in the woman.

Marshal gave another forced chuckle after his sister began to move away from the five. "Try and behave Lucinda, we have guests." He yelled out to his sister as if terrified she was going to ruin the party tonight.

Fritz gave a roll of his eyes as he turned to give Prue a sideway glance. "You know sisters." He spoke with a you know tone as if sisters were the root of all that is wrong with the world.

Prue nodded her head in replay to Fitz words, more than agreeing with them, what with her own sisters having dragged her to this party. "Tell me about it." She replied to him and Fitz gave her a note of agreement.

However Prue's sisters both turned to give the older one a glare. It wasn't their fault that Prue acted so superior half the time.

Having seemingly noticed the effect of the small conversation between his brother and the oldest Halliwell, Marshal decided that now was time to take his leave. "Eh so listen enjoy the party," He voiced with a smile before walking away with his brother in tow.

"Okay." Phoebe replied cheerily to Piper's shyness of the same word as they both turned around to face their oldest sister head on.

Stepping towards her sisters, Prue gave them both a hopeful glance. "Okay, I came, I saw and I was perky. Now I just want my head on a pillow because I have to wake up early." She begged her sisters hoping that they would go for it if only to help her sanity.

Both of the sisters turned to glare at the elder one with looks of annoyance at the thought of their sister trying to make an escape when the fun was about to begin.

"No." Phoebe yelled out to her sister, a little louder than expected as people gave her a small glance. "I mean not yet." She then spoke in a more revised tone of voice as she tried to look above her sister and into the crowds with a frown.

"Yeah, Prue, we just got here." Piper continued with a nervousness to her tone as she tried to think of a good excuse for keeping her sister here. "It wouldn't look good." She finally said as she too tried to look around the room.

The eldest sister frowned at the two wondering who they were both looking for, and why they were keeping her here because she knew they wouldn't be keeping her here if it was just to look for Dean or at least she hopped not. "Alright what's going on?" Prue asked her sisters with a suspicious tone to her voice.

Phoebe turned back to look at her eldest sister with her own version of nervousness, reminding the eldest sister that Phoebe couldn't keep a secret to save her life. "Going on? What do you mean?" Phoebe rambled.

At hearing the replay Prue began to give her siblings the Prue death stare, much more effective than Sammy's puppy dog eyes or Phoebe's pouts.

Both of the younger sisters each gave a gulp as they gave another glance around which proved to be beneficial as Phoebe finally smiled brightly. "Oh what a co-inky-dink, look who's here?" She spoke pointing behind her sister with the use of her childish wording.

Prue turned around to see what had caught her sister's interest and froze when her eyes found that of her sort of maybe boyfriend, no ex-boyfriend, Andy. She watched sheepishly as the man gave her a smile and a wave before she quickly turned to face her sisters with a look of pure death in her eyes and if looks could kill.

Phoebe and Piper were only happy that Prue's powers went reacting to her emotions.

Having turned back to face her little sisters, Phoebe glared and them both before turning her daggers on the youngest. "Phoebe you didn't." Prue warned.

Phoebe pouted at her oldest sister, not so happy that the eldest witch wasn't taking a hint as she shrugged her shoulders. "Well since your fingers weren't doing the walking, somebody's had too." She groaned out in self-defence.

Piper seemed to be nodding her head in agreement with the younger witch.

Prue however gave them both a deep dark glare, wishing that she could appreciate what her sisters had done for her but knowing that she couldn't. "We've been through this; cop witch, it's not a love connection." She growled out at her sisters, knowing that being a witch would always come in between her love life and Andy being a cop just made that all worse. Even if she wished it didn't.

Phoebe rolled her eyes again at her sister cause Prue was treating this like a life and death situation. "Boy girl, lighten up." She replied to her sister with irritation running through her every word before she grabbed her sister's hand and they both made a move away from the oldest.

"Hi Andy." Both sister spoke as they passed the man that they had all once and hopefully would be again very best friends with.

Andy smiled at the sisters before moving closer to Prue with a bright smile on his face and a drink in his hands.

"We're eh, working on their subtlety," Prue told Andy with a sheepish look, wishing that her sisters were here so that she could kill them and also wishing that she could kill her baby brother too.

It was Sam's fault after all that Andy knew so much about her.

Andy laughed at what the eldest Halliwell said. "And then it's onto ending hunger and creating world peace right?" He joked to his once upon a love, the passion in his words well and truly noted as he joked like old times.

"hm, what will I do with my Saturday?" Prue replied getting into the joke.

"Funny you should ask, I don't mean to push it but I was wondering if you're not doing anything I kind of have these tickets." Andy then replied with Prue giving him the perfect opening. However on second thoughts Prue was a girl and she might not be so into this kind of thing. "But there for a Warriors game and you probably wouldn't be interested so." He continued self-consciously.

Seeing the look on his face, caused for Prue's reply despite her not wanting to get to involved with Andy. "Well the team can't do any worse than they did last year, I mean did you see them get creamed by the Lakers." She spoke with disbelief over how truly bad the team had been in their last big season.

Andy looked to the witch in a new light after that enlightening having never expected it from the witch. "Impressive. Is that a yes?" He asked hopefully.

It was only then that Prue seemed to catch herself and felt sad because of it. "You know I need to check my book because I might have a thing." She responded wishing that she had worded it even a little bit better than that if only so that Andy didn't think that she was just blowing him off which technically she was but she had her reasons.

Cocking his eyes in response he gave a small huff of disbelief, clearly not believing what the witch was telling him, not that she was surprised. "A thing?" He asked her, as Prue bit her lip and wanted to hide.

Thankfully if there was ever a time to be thankful to pesky neighbours, Fritz came over to her. "So Prue I hear your friend's a cop." Fritz asked curiously.

Or at least he sounded curious but Prue could see that he wanted something from the police inspector and at his words, the witch couldn't help but feel defensive. "He's an inspector actually." She voiced which caught both Andy and her by surprise having not expected herself to have been so protective of a man she couldn't even date.

Why did she agree to come to this party again?

Fritz gave a nod of understanding at that. "Oh yeah, well I got these parking tickets." He then spoke as he looked to Andy.

Andy turned away from his dazed view of Prue to look at the young man that had interrupted their conversation with a monotone gaze. "Well my focus is mainly homicide, robbery." He told the man, not that he would do anything for the guy in the first place, he seemed real weird for even asking.

"Yeah, yeah," Fritz responded having seemingly understood what the inspector had said before he tried his luck again. "So I have these parking tickets." He continued.

Prue glanced between the two with a light smile having finally found a way to get herself out of this situation. "Gotta go." She told the two men before taking her leave. She was going to go home, grab her key, pick up Sam and then go to bed.

"Maybe you could." Fritz continued obnoxiously behind Prue.

"Hey Prue wait." Andy yelled after the witch but Prue continued on her way as if not hearing the man, passing her brother in the process who didn't seem to want to look up from his tongue lock with some blonde from the neighbourhood.

Walking out of the house, Prue walked past a group of people that were talking about god only knows what and began to make her way across the street with her bag tucked into her hands as she fumbled about with the strap of her handbag. Today had already been such a long day and she couldn't wait to go to bed with the knowledge that Sam was going to be dropped off later.

The witch walked up the stairs towards the front door, her heels making slapping noises against the pavement as she stepped up the stairs.

On the last set of stairs the brunette frowned when she noticed that the door had been left open. She knew that they had left the front lights on, a habit since childhood, but quickly she was cautious of anyone that could be inside their house.

Checking her watched she noted that Sam wasn't due back home for another hour.

When she noticed that nothing seemed untoward other than an open door, her thoughts automatically tried to think of who had been last to leave the house. "Phoebe." Prue growled out with her thoughts having quickly went towards her little sister.

Closing the door behind her Prue stepped further into the manor with a roll of her eyes at her sister. She paused however when she began to hear the sounds of a dog barking.

Cautiously making her way towards the stairs, Prue's green eyes came face to face with one heck of a dog. He stood barking viciously towards her and slowly Prue made her way slowly back towards the front door, fear itching in her steps. The dog then started to make his way towards the brunette witch as if charging her and Prue rushed towards the door opening it clumsily and running out, leaving the door wide open.

The dog marched towards the open door growling and chomping towards where the witch had run off too. His eyes soon glowing bright yellow as he continued to bark after the witch.

Across town Sam sat on the floor of his best friend's bedroom, with the blonde sitting right across from him with a flashcard in her hands. In the middle of the two was a whole hoard of cards all with spelling words for class and so far Sam was really winning this game, with a smile printed on his face.

"Okay spell ambiguous." Kat spoke with a grin, knowing he couldn't possibly get this one right, not after all the others, and this one would be hard.

So far Sam had been doing better than her, something that truly annoyed and irritated the girl as she flipped a loose blonde strand behind her ears.

Sam smiled in delight, causing the blonde to stutter with a frown, a smile from Sam meant a loss for Kat. "A.M.B.I.G…U.O.U.S. Ambiguous." Sam dropped out and he watched, smirking, as Kat followed his letters with the ones on the card, and nearly laughed at her expression when he noted the girl's flabbergasted face.

Throwing the card against the floor, Kat looked to her very best friend with amazement. "Oh my god, you're a genius." She through out to the brunette as Sam gave her a sheepish smile.

No matter how many times people commented on his intelligence, he always felt embarrassed, believing that there was no possible reason why he could be considered as such a smart individual. All he did was study and yet everyone considered him as a genius.

Rubbing the back of his neck to keep his small blush at bay the young Halliwell shook his head. "Hardly that is actually quite an easy one if you thing about it." Sam responded to the blonde.

Kat rolled her blue eyes at the expression in Sam's face, it was hard to believe that a boy who was related to both Dean and Phoebe Halliwell could look so self-conscious whenever someone gave him a compliment. Sam had always been a shy geek type but he was seriously smart and he had to learn to take the compliment.

Thinking of a way to make him feel a little better she decided to follow through with their current conversation. "How?" She questioned.

Sam frowned giving his best friend a suspicious gaze before soon relenting to the believe that she only wanted to ask a question with no misconceptions. "Am…big…u…ous." "Like I said pretty easy." He expressed as a bright smile suddenly appeared on his face at those words. He loved spelling and getting things right at least for this.

For the last couple of weeks he had felt more than a little withdrawn from not having powers like his brother and sisters, but at least he could say that he was smart. If possible he was smarter than all of his siblings, or at least that's what Prue said, with her believing that he would be the only one to get a scholarship.

Kat seemed to agree with him being really smart as she glared at her friend. "Says the guy with the 4.0gpa." She remarked with a sarcastic tone, something that Kat seemed to do a lot of especially recently. "Seriously though Sam I don't know how you do it." She continued with a serious tone of voice. Even though she joked a lot with the older boy she knew when to be serious.

The two were soon quickly distracted by another voice entering the conversation. "Well unlike you, he actually tries." A woman's voice spoke out to the group as they both turned around to find Kat's Mom. "Hey Sam." She continued when she noted Sam was looking at her.

Mrs Taylor was a lovely woman, and who treated Sam like a second child. She looked the double of her daughter with their shared blonde hair and sea blue eyes. She was also a nurse at San Francisco memorial hospital, and still wearing her nurse uniform.

Giving his best friend's mother a big smile, he sat up a little. "Hi Mrs Taylor." He expressed.

The elder woman gave Sam a pointed look when he had called her by her surname. "Sam, please call me Sarah, Mrs Taylor is my mother-in-law, and I don't really like her much." She told him and he nodded he had met Mrs Taylor senior and the woman seemed to really hate Sarah. They argued about practically everything which annoyed Kat but what could she do.

"Okay Mrs… I mean Sarah." Sam stuttered as he spoke to the blonde.

Kat gave him a look of her own, noting Sam's fluster with an impish gaze. Her Mom always told Sam to call her by her first name, and nearly every time she had to remind him of her Grandma.

Getting away from thoughts of her mother-in-law, Sarah moved towards Sam's family. "Now how are Dean and your sisters?" She asked her daughter's best friend with genuine curiosity, it was the same question every time since Grams died.

A huge smile came across Sam's face as he thought of his brother and sisters. "They're great." He voiced to them both in a cheerful tone. "Phoebe just came back home from New York a couple of weeks ago." He continued telling the blonde all about his siblings. It was funny he would always rather speak about his siblings than he ever would himself and it was something that Kat had noticed whenever they talked too.

Sarah smiled lightly taking in what the youngest Halliwell had said, "Yeah Kat mentioned," She spoke with a very maternal voice as she looked between her daughter and her friend.

Kat seeming to have had enough with being ignored by her mother and friend decided to but into the conversation. "And Hello to you too Mother." She called out with a wave of her arms to express her distaste.

Sarah rolled her eyes at her daughter's attention seeking knowing it was just like the dramatic teenager. "Katharine, don't be so dramatic." She called out making use of Kat's full name as she spoke. "I knew there was a reason she picked drama." She snarked out to Sam as Sam tried to stop himself from laughing at poor Kat's expense.

Ignoring the look on Kat's face, Sarah quickly moved on. "Well I'll have to say hello when I drop you off." She voiced out as she thought about the teenager's family knowing that they were all amazing adults especially after what they had gone through the last couple of years.

The group stayed quiet for a couple of minutes, awaiting for Sarah to leave, or at least Kat was waiting. However it seemed like Sarah was waiting for something as well. "So how was work Mom?" Kat finally asked the woman, as Sarah let out a huge smile.

"Oh it was actually good for once," she replied with a light tone as she began running her fingers lightly through her little girl's golden blonde hair. "I didn't lose a patient."

Sam frowned at that, he had never thought about how hard Sarah's job must have been. He thought he had it tough being a witch, well the brother of a couple of witches and yet Sarah saw trauma every day. "That must suck." He voiced to the woman. "I mean seeing death every day." Sam continued, if only to clarify once he received a frown from Kat and her Mom.

Sarah gave him a small smile of appreciation. "It can be, but then I think of Kat… and you and it's all worth it." She responded sappily and it made Sam's hazel eyes flutter with a hint of a tear.

The brunette had always known that Kat's mother had been very loving and protective over him, hey sometimes she had been another mother in his very long line of maternal figures. Sarah had been a rock to him in ways that his Grams, brother and sisters could not be, even more so than his Dad had been when he was a little boy.

Standing up, Sarah moved towards the door. "Remember not to stay up to late tonight Kat." She voiced towards her daughter with a knowing glance before she made a move towards the door however paused when she got there. "Do you guys want something to eat?" She asked as she turned back around to face the two teens.

Kat looked back to her mother with wide and joyful eyes as a though occurred to her. "Did you order take-out?" She asked lovingly trying to put on her sweetest voice.

Sarah returned Kat's look with a mocking one of her own. "You gonna pay for it?"

The teenager groaned with a roll of her eyes, thinking it was typical of her mother. "We'll have whatever's on tap." She then returned.

The mother let out a laugh at that one, and Sam found himself looking to Sarah with slight confusion. "Your father's daughter I swear." She voiced out to her daughter and it truly made Sam smile to hear that one.

Kat's Dad was a Man very similar to that of his own father. Both of their fathers had been marines and had met when they had fought in the Korean War. It was actually the reason his father had came to San Francisco, when he'd lived his whole childhood in Lawrence, Kansas.

Dad had met Mom when he was out on a night in the town with Kat's Dad and it was one of the reasons why he was so close to Kat, through their fathers. His Dad had eventually quit the marines in order to open up a garage with his friend and to live with Mom and his sisters, while Kat's Dad had decided to stay in the Marines. Flash-forward twenty years and Kat's Dad was still a marine, deployed at the moment in some strange place and his Dad had died nearly seven years ago. Kat's Dad had taken personal leave in order to come to the funeral.

Shaking his head he wanted to get his mind off of his Dad. The man, like his Grams, had always made him feel sad.

Sarah then gave her little ward a loving smile. "So Dean is fine, your sisters are fine; how are you?" She questioned him with a maternal tone.

"I'm fine." He answered.

With that said, Sarah smiled said her goodbyes and then left the room while Kat turned to give her best friend a sharp glare. Kat then scoffed at his answer and then moved to whack him across the chest in which he replied with a sharp ow.

Kat ignored the exclamation that Sam had given out. "Sam you fell asleep in class, you have chronic headaches. You are not fine." She called out to him and Sam squeezed his eyes to try and keep the screech out of his ears. If he didn't have a headache at the moment then he would certainly have one after that.

Giving out a soft sigh, he gave into his friend's questioning. "I've just not been sleeping well." He explained to her, although he made it clear in his mind that he would never ever tell Kat his dreams about her. "Since Grams." He finished.

"Okay." Kat relented.

Sam then smiled deeply towards Kat, more than happy that she was letting this go. If only for his own peace of mind. "Okay spell contagion." He then asked as he picked up another flashcard.

At hearing those words, Kat gritted her teeth and moved to glare at him. "Oh my god, I hate you." She growled out heavily and Sam smiled knowing that his best friend would never be able to answer this one.

* *P *D * P*S * P* *

"How big was this dog again?" Phoebe asked her sister curiously from her place a top the counter as she began eating chips, seemingly unaware that her brother was also sneaking out some of the chips from his sister as the eldest stepped into the kitchen and past the youngest two in the room.

Turning to glare at her baby sister, she gave her a small pointed look. "Huge. Did you see the scratches on the attic door?" Prue questioned her, the fear of the stupid dog still rolling off of her.

Still Prue could remember back when she was twelve and a dog, similar to the one that had been in the house had bit her arm. She still had a small scar, and when Sam had begged their Grams for a dog, she had remembered vetoing the thing rather quickly.

Although that didn't stop Sammy from running away when he found a stray golden retriever, and thinking that she would take the thing from him, even though she wasn't living in the same house anymore, he ran. The kid was found three days later after a bad storm with the dog by the police. Grams had nearly killed him, and if Grams had been bad then Dean had been ten times worse. Sam had ended up keeping the dog for four months till the dog's real owner had turned up.

It had been a terrifying three days and Grams had grounded Sam for a month, although the kid did it all over again after Grams had died and Phoebe had left. That time the kid had been trying to get to New York, with him having wanted to go with Phoebe. The social worked had had a field day.

Ignorant of Prue's wandering thoughts, Dean put in his own two cents to the conversation. "Well you're lucky Sammy wasn't here or he might've wanted to keep it." He voiced as the three sisters turned to give him a glare, all the glares telling him he had said the wrong thing again.

Dean shrugged, as he snuck out another chip from the box, still leaving Phoebe unaware.

"What was it doing in the house?" Piper asked her brother and sisters with curiosity as she began trying to unscrew one of the top of the jar as she went about making something for them all to eat. She also had to begin making something for Sam's lunch tomorrow unless they wanted him to starve. Checking her watch, she noted that he was due back soon.

Dean and Phoebe both spied an eye at Piper, and found themselves trying to stop from giggling at Piper. Piper had always been knowing to cook when she was worried or cautious about something and the dog had certainly ruffled the woman into cooking.

"Well someone obviously left the front door open again." Prue remarked as she turned to glare at Phoebe and Dean with a look of annoyed irritation towards the two of her siblings.

It was always one of them that did things they weren't supposed too, like leaving the door open or leaving food out, finishing the milk and then putting it back in the fridge. It was super annoying and something totally Dean and Phoebe.

"Hey I was first one out." Dean yelled out in his defence.

Prue rolled her eyes at her brother's response it was something very typical of the younger boy. Although she did seem to realise that he had been the first one to leave the house.

"Why do you always assume it was me what about Piper." Phoebe retorted to her sister in annoyance, seeming to be shifting the blame on the other sister.

Piper turned up from the food she was preparing to glare at her sister. It was so typical of her to even think about blaming someone else. "Not it." Piper yelled out to her siblings with a glare to the youngest woman.

"Well it's not a big deal, we checked the house and nothing is missing except for my Pat Bloom Christmas CD." Phoebe pointed out to her sisters with a small frown on her face as Dean kept sneaking chips from her even taking the one in her hand before she realised.

The two older sisters gave one another a pointed look as Piper continued to make up the food while Prue stepped over to the curtains. Both found it very unlikely that anyone would want to steel Phoebe's CD let alone a dog. She probably left it somewhere knowing Phoebe.

Thinking about that caused for the middle witch to twist her shoulders, as a shiver rippled through her body. "Now this is really creepy if there was a dog in the house, then it had to have an owner, no dog I know can open that front door. Let alone reach a top shelf." Piper complained to her siblings, moving her hands to express herself, her tone making it very obvious of her fear especially with demons now being involved.

Piper's words caused for the other three siblings to pause and think over what the witch said.

"Hey maybe we should get a security system?" Phoebe then put out to her siblings in curiosity as the idea came to her. It was a good point. Not many people didn't have security system nowadays and especially when they lived in a house filled with three women, a kid and a Dean.

The thought of money being involved in this thing caused for Dean to stutter. "Not it." He yelled out to his siblings with a slightly scared voice as they girls all glanced to him with a look.

Prue shook her head before turning so that she could look at her siblings. "No they are way too expensive besides after what happened Andy will be checking on us every five minutes." She told them all before she thought about it, and it was only afterwards that she realised her mistake.

"Great another babysitter for Sammy." Dean pronounced.

The sisters all ignored their brother as Phoebe and Piper turned to one another to give out a small looks of gush. "Oh you told him." Piper asked the eldest with a caress to her tone as she spoke.

"Covenant." Phoebe continued on from Piper with a mischievous smirk. "So what should we do?" She asked, reverting back to their previous conversation as she took another chomp from the chips, just realising that Dean had left her side to go and pester Piper.

Prue returned Phoebe's glance before she made a move to fold some of the clothes. "Well either we could rely on our vicious guard cat to protect us or we could remember to lock the doors." Prue voiced out to her sister with a desperate expression as she tightened her hands around the sweater she had been trying to fold.

The eldest Halliwell walked out of the room and into the laundry room to finish up with another round, it really was annoying to have five people in this house, with five lots of clothing all the time.

Getting up from the counter, Phoebe put the chips down as Dean quickly grabbed them. "That is a really good idea Prue." She spoke with a small smile on her face as she walked over to the door, much like a front door quickly shutting it and locking it before moving away.

At hearing the sound of the lock Prue rushed to the door and tried to open it to no prevail. "Unlock the door Phoebe." Prue called out with irritation towards her sister.

The three other siblings began to laugh at what Phoebe had done as Prue continued to try and get back into the house making no headway with the lock. It was just her luck that only know Phoebe had felt the need to learn locking the door.

The siblings all continued to laugh as the fifth Halliwell entered the kitchen. At seeing Prue banging on the door, while the others laughed their heads off. "What did I just walk into?" Sam asked the other four with a roll of his eyes. Why was that he was the youngest and apparently the most mature out of all of his siblings.
