CHAPTER SIX-WHAT A MESS
Elizabeth yawned and stretched her body into the morning sun.
'What on earth am I gonna do all morning while Paul is practicing for the show? Maybe Claire would want to-' Elizabeth's thoughts were cut short when a girl headed towards her. Elizabeth recognized her almost immediately after she set eyes on her despite the hideous tattoos that now covered her face. Penny.
''Excuse me but I'm looking for Paul. Have you seen him?'' She asked nervously.
''You must be Penny,'' Elizabeth stated. Penny slowly nodded. Elizabeth let a bright smile appear on her face.
''Paul is actually busy right now but you look like you've got a lot on your mind so why don't we go for a walk first to pass the time?'' Elizabeth suggested softly. Penny gave a thankful smile and headed towards the woods.
She didn't even notice the cold, cruel look in Elizabeth's eyes behind her bright, fake smile.

'Beth has been gone all morning. How long does it take to take a walk in the woods?' Claire stopped her thoughts and headed towards Jimmy and the others coming out of the tent. Jimmy wrapped an arm around her shoulder and kissed her cheek.
''What have you been doing babe?'' Claire sighed.
''Absolutely nothing. Elizabeth hasn't been around all morning.''
''Is she alright?'' Paul quickly asked.
''I'm sure she's fine. She left me a note saying she was going on a walk and she'd be gone for a while,'' Claire shrugged.
''Claire-bear.'' Claire stiffened and slowly turned around to see Elizabeth.
''Claire-bear? That's adorable! Can we call you that too?'' Eve asked excitedly.
''No! Elizabeth is the only person who calls me that and I'd like to keep it that way. Sorry,'' Claire turned back to Elizabeth and silently voiced her outrage.
''I'm sorry Claire-bear but I made a mess,'' Elizabeth shrugged. Claire pursed her lips together and stiffly walked away with her.
''I'll be back later I promise. Please don't follow us,'' Claire couldn't look Jimmy in the eyes. Jimmy's eyes furrowed in confusion.
''What was that about?'' Eve wondered.

''What happened Beth?'' Claire asked. Elizabeth shrugged.
''That Penny girl came by Paul's trailer and we started walking. She told me how her father disowned her after he pretty much disfigured her face against her will and it hit me that no one would miss her, so I killed her.'' Claire sighed and observed her sister's dress.
''How did you manage to avoid the blood?'' Elizabeth tilted her head slightly.
''I wanted to strangle her instead. That way I could see the life leave her eyes.'' Claire nodded.
''Makes sense. You're branching out.'' Elizabeth smiled.
''I know. Last time when I killed that little boy next door, that older lady in Washington, that couple in Germany, and dad I always enjoyed all the blood.'' Claire nodded. Elizabeth suddenly stopped and pointed in the bushes on their left.
''She's in there. How will we get rid of her body without making a mess big sister? I'd prefer not to get blood on my new dress.'' Claire tilted her head and looked over Penny's lifeless body and stopped at the wide eyes that seem to be staring back at her.
''Don't worry, I have an idea.''

''This bonfire was a great idea Claire! It's been a long time since we've all spent quality time together,'' Eve smiled. Claire smiled back and leaned in closer to Jimmy.
''That fire sure is roaring. What did you two put in it?'' Paul asked.
''Wood.'' ''Garbage.'' Claire threw a look at Elizabeth who smiled secretly back. Elizabeth smiled at Paul who just looked at her with confusion.

Elizabeth and Claire followed slowly behind Jimmy and Paul to head to bed.
''Promise me something?'' Claire asked. Elizabeth nodded.
''Of course big sister. Anything.'' Claire nodded.
''You never touch any of the other performers. Anyone else is fair game, just try and be smart about it baby sister.'' Elizabeth nodded.
''I understand.'' Claire nodded.
''Good. Night darling.'' Elizabeth smiled.
''Night honey. Thanks again for your help.'' Claire kissed her sister's cheek.
''Anytime Beth.''
