"I choose the Thorn of Thunderbolt!" Willow shouted, pointing the Shen Gong Wu towards one of several training dummies.
A bolt of golden lighting shot out from the artefact's tip and pierced the wooden dummy through its chest, but it continued on to another training dummy standing directly behind it, achieving the same result. Omi cheered and clapped his hands, approaching Willow with another Shen Gong Wu, the Shield of Many Suns.
"Soon you will be an expert at using all the Shen Gong Wu!" he explained as she handed the Thorn of Thunderbolt back to him.
"I'm sure some will be a little tricky to master!" she said with a smile, "Especially those ones you have locked away in the super secret vault."
"Ah, ah, ah!" Omi snapped, wagging his finger at her. "No super secret Shen Gong Wu until you master all the other Shen Gong Wu. And guess the secret combination with tiger instinct!"
Clay came running towards the two of them, avoiding the training dummies by weaving in and out of them. "No time to play around, we've got a new Wu alert!" he exclaimed, already turning back towards the way he came.
"All these new Shen Gong Wu are popping up so quickly!" Omi exclaimed, "We may never get to the super secret ones!"
Dojo flew over the snowy tundra, hoping that the monks would be able to spot the new Shen Gong Wu that had been activated amongst the whiteness. The Xiaolin Warriors had become five; Willow seemed eager to prove herself to the four Shoku Warriors.
"We're going after the Egg of Ogumo," Raimundo explained to the blonde young woman, who was tending to her hair with the Tangle Web Comb. "It has the power to become a giant crystal spider when activated! Are you ready?"
"I'm ready as I'll ever be, Raimundo," Willow replied with a gentle smile.
"I still can't believe there are five of us now!" Kimiko exclaimed, sitting behind the new recruit.
"Perhaps as Willow battles the forces of evil with us, she will manifest her elemental Xiaolin Warrior powers!" added Omi.
"Golly, I'm not sure if I have something like that," Willow chuckled, "But since some evildoers don't know about me as the fifth warrior, I have the element of surprise!"
"I hope they are pleasant surprises," Omi said with a giggle.
Dojo touched down in the snow and shrank back to his original size, sitting on Willow's shoulder. She gave him a little kiss on the end of his nose, causing his green scales to blush bright red. Half buried in a mound of snow ahead was a purple egg with dark speckles, about the size of a soccer ball. However, when the monks approached, the snow collapsed and exposed a deep crevice. It was revealed that the egg was standing on a small pinnacle in the middle of the fissure.
A few metres away, Jack Spicer's Tunnel Armadillo burst from the snow, followed by a swarm of Jack-bots. The Xiaolin Warriors turned to face him as he hopped out of the vehicle Shen Gong Wu's cockpit, along with Tubbimura. After the Jack-bots had finished flying out of the hole, the Cyclops clambered out and roared.
Jack was eating a warm pastry, and began to speak with his mouth full. The Xiaolin Warriors had no idea what he was saying, and continued on towards the Egg of Ogumo, which seemed to make Jack irate. He mumbled what sounded like an attack order to his robots, which immediately opened fire. He and Tubbimura followed the swarm of Jack-bots, but the Cyclops started to play in the snow.
"Mantis Flip Coin!" Tubbimura called out, launching himself hundreds of feet into the air with his enhanced jumping abilities. As he came back down to Earth, he produced a comic book from one of his fat folds and began to read it.
The excessively overweight ninja landed on top of Raimundo, Clay and Omi, continuing to read as they struggled underneath his tremendous bulk. Kimiko and Willow remained, fighting off the Jack-bots that attacked as they ran for the egg. Willow used the Sword of the Storm to send the horde of machines flying, causing them to fall into the fissure.
"Ruby of Ramses!" yelled Jack Spicer after finishing his pastry, using the Shen Gong Wu to lift the wreckage of the Jack-bots in the fissure to form a bridge to the Egg of Ogumo. Jack hopped across the floating robot parts and grabbed the Shen Gong Wu, but was surprised to see that Willow had grabbed the egg too. "Wow, you're actually pretty cute close up!" he said to her, sheepishly.
Willow frowned at him. "I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown, Jack Spicer!" she snapped.
"Make that a showdown trio," said a voice. Willow and Jack looked down at the Egg of Ogumo to see that another hand had touched it.
Chase Young levitated up from the deep crevice, keeping his hand on the Shen Gong Wu. The warriors of earth, wind and water managed to force Tubbimura off of them and were shocked to see the Heylin Warrior's reappearance. While Tubbimura was lying in the snow, Cyclops plodded over and picked up the comic book that the ninja had dropped.
"Willow's gonna go up against Chase Young!" Clay muttered, sounding panicked. Behind him, the Cyclops and Tubbimura began to fight over the comic book.
"Oh, you think?" Raimundo asked sarcastically, "We never got round to telling her about him!"
"I thought Chase would not show up again after his defeat," Omi added.
Jack smiled nervously and waved at the immortal villain. "Hey Chase, long time no see! Something seems a little…different about you, is it a new haircut? Have you been working out? New boots?"
Chase looked at the boy genius coldly. "Make yourself useful; I have no knickknacks to wager, so you will give me one of yours."
With a grin, Jack put the Ruby of Ramses into Chase's free hand. "You'll be wagering the Ruby of Ramses, and I'll be wagering the Wushu Helmet! We can gang up on her!"
"I'll be using the Tangle Web Comb!" Willow announced, "The game will be a race to the top of the mountain! Let's go, Xiaolin Showdown!"
"She said that pretty well," Kimiko thought out loud as she observed the landscape changing.
Chase, Jack and Willow were standing at the foot of a towering pinnacle of ice and snow. The miniature mountain was made of multiple tiers, and was surrounded by many floating stone platforms. It began to snow heavily, slightly obscuring the vision of the competitors. The mountain was situated inside a deep crater, and the people not competing in the showdown stood at its edge.
"Gong Yi Tan Pai!"
Willow was took an early lead, but Jack found a way to overtake her by jumping up several of the lowest floating platforms. She shot some webs at Jack using her comb like Shen Gong Wu, which Jack managed to avoid.
In a flash, Jack was wearing his suit of cybernetically enhanced armour. However, instead of being pink like it was the last time, the armour plating was completely transparent. "I still haven't sorted the colour problem out, okay?" he yelled as he heard the Xiaolin Warriors and his two henchmen stood at the edge of the crater laughing at his visible underpants.
He donned the Wushu Helmet, making a squeaking sound as he squeezed his head into it, and continued to scale the mountain. Jack noticed that Chase was directly above him, and gave the Heylin Warrior a whistle.
"That helmet doesn't match your armour," Chase mumbled as he looked down at the annoying villain. He used the Ruby of Ramses to throw Jack off the mountain and chuckled as he watched the boy genius vanish below him, screaming.
Jack managed to land on his feet thanks to the augmentations that his armour gave him, but he was far behind Willow and Chase. A few rocks fell after him, but the helmet he wore protected him from damage. He managed to catch up with the new Xiaolin apprentice quite easily, however, and pushed her to the ground.
"Hah! Rule number one of the evildoer's code; don't go easy on a newbie hero!" he snorted.
Willow grunted and rolled onto her back, unleashing a stream of webs from the Tangle Web Comb to bind him. Jack tried to break free, but his armour was proving to be ineffective. Willow got back on her feet and smiled deviously at him, gently nudging him with her boot.
Once again, Jack was sent screaming down the mountain as Willow blew him a kiss. She could hear the monks cheering for her as she focussed on getting to the top where Chase was. The immortal warrior was about to reach the top, but Willow managed to tie him up with the Tangle Web Comb from a few metres below him. Chase fell, and Willow used him as a platform to leap to the top of the mountain where the Egg of Ogumo was perched.
The environment returned to normal, and Willow found herself standing at the edge of the crevasse with the four other Xiaolin Warriors. "Wow, way to go!" Raimundo exclaimed in admiration, taken back by the new recruit's performance against the formidable foe.
"I couldn't have done it without you cheering me on," Willow said calmly, handing Omi the Shen Gong Wu she had won.
"I knew that fighting evil would become a piece of pie once we had five warriors on our side!" the warrior of water proclaimed, "You will become a Shoku Warrior like us in no time!"
Chase had seemed to vanish completely, while Jack was retreating back to the Tunnel Armadillo. He looked back at the celebrating warriors and smiled fiendishly, pressing a button on a small remote control he held. A tiny chip he had planted on the Egg of Ogumo, just before the Xiaolin Showdown had started, blinked its lights briefly.
Soon the Xiaolin Warriors were settling down for the night back at the Temple. While the other heroes were in bed, Raimundo placed the Egg of Ogumo in the Shen Gong Wu vault. The device that Jack had placed on it remained unnoticed, and when the warrior of wind exited the vault, its lights flickered to life once again.
"Egg of Ogumo!" said Jack's voice, emanating from the chip. The egg began to pulsate and vibrate, gradually changing shape. It extended eight legs and began to grow, morphing into a purple spider the size of a person. The creature chattered its mandibles quietly and began to ascend the spiral staircase up towards the exit of the vault.
The giant spider scaled the walls and crawled across the ceiling, entering the meditation hall. Hanging down from the ceiling by a strong thread of silk, the spider accessed the main console for the Temple's security system. Delicately manipulating the wires with its front legs and pedipalps, the spider succeeded in deactivating the programming.
Under the cover of night, Jack-bots quietly gathered around the Temple grounds. Several robots, much bigger than the others, were equipped with drills. These large automatons dug underneath the Xiaolin Temple, causing the ground to shake slightly.
Omi was woken up by the shaking and sat up on his bedroll, looking about frantically. However, he quickly placed his round head back on the pillow and closed his eyes, just as a team of several Jack-bots glided silently through the hallway outside. The robots were tampering with the security systems, disabling the cameras so their handiwork would not be recorded, and rewiring it to perform a different function.
The drilling robots underground had finished their tunnelling. Gradually, the Jack-bots began to carry several rocket engines underneath the Temple. The spider creature, finished with its business, slowly crept back towards the Shen Gong Wu vault and transformed into its original form.
"Attention Xiaolin Losers!" yelled Jack, waking all the five of them sprang out of bed to witness a ghostly hologram of the boy genius, being projected by a miniscule Jack-bot.
Omi pointed an accusing finger at the image. "Why do you come to us at this time, Jack Spicer? Both you and I need our sleep tonight!"
The Jack hologram looked baffled for a second before frowning angrily. "Time zones, cue ball! It's morning where I am!" Jack calmed down and resumed grinning evilly at them. "I'm here because I thought it'd be a good time for me to begin my world domination plan."
"Okay, so it seems you've overridden my security system," Kimiko said as anger built up inside her.
"You based it on the stuff I left at the Temple! No wonder it was so easy to hack!" snapped Jack. He exhaled loudly and continued speaking. "Sorry, sorry. I know it's late for you and you aren't thinking straight, so why don't you just let me explain?"
Before he could continue, Omi destroyed the miniature Jack-bot with a flying kick. However, Jack's voice continued to play from several speakers in the room. "Darn it, chrome dome!" yelled the boy genius, "Stop ruining this for me! Can't you see that your efforts are futile?"
The ground began to shake violently, and all five Xiaolin Warriors dropped to their knees for stability. "What have you done?" Raimundo asked the villain angrily.
Jack's cackling filled the air, but it was gradually drowned out by the intense roaring sound coming from outside. "I'm letting you all live out your childhood dreams!" he chuckled, "Didn't you all want to be astronauts at some point when you were little kids?"
Kimiko and Raimundo immediately ran outside the sleeping quarters and into the Temple courtyard, but they were met with a horrifying sight. They saw that their home was being lifted up into the sky, watching the surrounding mountains appear to sink lower and lower. Rocket engines had been fitted to the underside of the Temple grounds, and now the entire complex and some of the surrounding earth was airborne.
The two Xiaolin Warriors were surrounded by Jack-bots, but they immediately readied their elemental powers. Kimiko tossed fireballs while Raimundo summoned tornados, vanquishing a large percentage of the mechanical assailants. However, as the battle progressed, their powers seemed to fade away. Kimiko was finding it hard to summon a flame, while Raimundo found that he had little air to manipulate.
"It's getting harder to breathe!" Raimundo gasped, "How high up are we?"
Kimiko began to run back to where they came, "We need to get back inside! Luckily I still have control over a few features!"
The warriors of fire and wind avoided the Jack-bots that chased after them, regrouping with their friends. Immediately, Kimiko produced her handheld computer and began to tap it frantically. The windows and doors were suddenly sealed shut with reinforced steel, making sure no air inside the buildings could escape.
"What a shame! Didn't you want to go for a spacewalk?" Jack Spicer laughed.
"We can't really be in space!" proclaimed Clay. "We're all still standing! Ain't things supposed to get all floaty?"
Almost immediately after the warrior of earth had finished speaking, the Xiaolin Warriors found themselves gradually lifting up off the floor. "Impeccable timing, Clay," mumbled Raimundo.
Omi waved his arms and legs about madly, bumping his head on the ceiling. Clay pulled him down, but at the same time, he found himself taking the water monk's place. Raimundo folded his arms and frowned, gradually rotating as he flew through the air. Both Kimiko and Willow began to plait each other's hair, ensuring that the lack of gravity would not make their hair go wild. Raimundo floated by, giving the two girls an exasperated look.
Jack laughed again. "I can't see what's happening, but I'm sure it's funny! Would you mind describing things to me?"
"I've got control of the system!" Kimiko exclaimed, showing everyone the message of success on her handheld.
"Big deal!" Jack snorted, "I bet you can't try landing this thing!"
The warrior of fire sighed, letting the handheld computer fall out of her hand and float through the air. "He's right," she mumbled, burying her head in her hands.
Master Fung slowly drifted into the room, sitting in a meditative position on a mat with his eyes closed. "This is most unfortunate, young monks," he said calmly as he floated into the centre of the group, "But no matter what the situation, one must always keep their feet on the ground, or else a plan of action will not come."
"Did Master Fung just try to make a funny?" Clay questioned, "It's pretty hard to do what he just said when there's no gravity."
"It's the air!" Dojo cried, darting about the room. He seemed unhindered by the lack of gravity, as he was used to flying. "The oxygen's running out in here! Soon the space madness is gonna set in!"
"Snip out of it, Dojo!" Omi grabbed hold of the squirming dragon, which was beginning to sob. "I have a plan to get the Temple back on the ground!"
"You're not a rocket scientist, Omi!" Raimundo groaned, "To you, mastering slang is like rocket science."
"And out of all the people here, Kimiko's the best with technological stuff," added Clay.
"It is true; I have no idea how rockets behave, so I will bring back the Fountain of Hui and Eagle Scope from the secret vault!" explained the warrior of water. "Perhaps Kimiko will then be able to set things right!"
Kimiko cheered up, removing her hands from her face. "Omi, that's a great idea," she said, "But how will you go and get the Wu?"
"I'd make an air bubble around you, like a space helmet," Raimundo explained, sounding grave, "But the air is running out."
Omi put his hand to his chin and thought for a second, before grinning suddenly with a sharp intake of breath. "I shall use water to breathe!"
Raimundo and the other Xiaolin Warriors looked at the bald monk dumbfounded. Raimundo floated over to him and gently tapped him on the forehead with his knuckles. "I know we're in space, Omi, but could you try to stick to using Earth logic?"
Omi scowled at him before moving through the air as though he was swimming towards two small objects that were floating around the sleeping quarters; the Gills of Hamachi and the Orb of Tornami. "I can form a water bubble around my head, and then use the gills to breathe in it! I was keeping these two Shen Gong Wu safe as I slept, so I could teach Willow how to use them in the morning!"
The expressions of the other Xiaolin Warriors seemed to brighten up. "That sounds crazy enough to work," Kimiko said, "But there are probably still Jack-bots outside. You'll need some company, and someone to defend you as you access the secret vault."
Raimundo was suddenly hit by a frightening realization. "Oh no, I just remembered something! The regular Shen Gong Wu vault is deep down underground! It probably wasn't lifted with the Temple!"
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Jack and his cronies sped towards the empty square crater where the Xiaolin Temple grounds once stood in an aircraft. The aircraft touched down inside the crater, just beside what remained of the Shen Gong Wu vault. It now looked like a large round hole, with a spiral staircase going down. The cockpit opened, and Jack, Vlad and Tubbimura hopped out.
"This is too good to be true!" Vlad exclaimed, proudly surveying the area.
"Perhaps we could build a shopping centre here, once we take over the world of course," Jack added with an excited laugh, "Or a monument to how great I am!"
The three of them began to descend into the vault hole, removing any Shen Gong Wu they came across from the drawers in the walls and placing them into a sack that Tubbimura held. "Sometimes shopping centres can be dedicated to someone," said the ninja, "There could be a statue of you at the entrance."
"There could be a water fountain in the middle of the place!" said Jack elatedly, "One that shoots water up super high every quarter of an hour or so! I'd call the fountain 'Better than Omi'!"
They made their way to the very bottom of the vault, filling the Shen Gong Wu sack to almost bursting. Both Tubbimura and Vlad had to carry the large back as they made their way up the spiral staircase back to the surface.
"What if Xiaolin Warriors find way to tamper with the rockets attached to their temple?" Vlad questioned the cheerful evil genius.
"There's some Jack-bots up there to keep them company in the depths of space," Jack replied with a sneer, "Plus a little extra surprise!"
Meanwhile, miles above the planet, Omi prepared the Orb of Tornami and the Gills of Hamachi to venture outside. The other Xiaolin Warriors floated around him, waiting to decide which one of them would travel with the warrior of water.
To their surprise, Willow floated towards Omi. "I'll go," she said calmly.
The other heroes, including Omi, were shocked. "No you won't!" Raimundo proclaimed, "You've only just become a Xiaolin Warrior!"
"I know it sounds crazy, but you've lived at the Temple for a long time," Willow explained, "Since it's so important to you, I'm not gonna let another one of you folks risk your lives."
"She's so sweet," Dojo muttered with a tear in his eye.
"Willow, you have proven yourself to be a true Xiaolin Warrior," Omi said to her quietly, "Hold onto me; I shall use the power of the Gills of Hamachi!"
Willow gently placed a hand on his head as he called out the Shen Gong Wu's name, transforming both him and her into scaly green fish people. Omi then quickly used the Orb of Tornami to summon water, and then use his elemental powers to shape the water into two spheres that enveloped them.
"Good luck you two," Raimundo said.
"I'll open the door now!" Kimiko announced, accessing the security system with her computer, "Everyone except Omi and Willow should hold on tight!"
Clay used a lasso to tie himself to one of the rafters, holding onto Raimundo. Kimiko secured herself to a wall with the Silk Spitter and switched her operations to her laptop computer, hitting a few keys. The reinforced steel door was briefly opened, sucking the warrior of water and the new apprentice outside. Raimundo used a free hand to grab hold of Master Fung to stop him from getting sucked outside, as he was still meditating and seemingly oblivious to what was happening.
They finally let go of what they were gripping onto, allowing themselves to drift around the sleeping quarters once again. A lot of objects had been disturbed by Kimiko's actions, causing them to drift around the room. One of the objects caught Kimiko's attention; a small turquoise book.
She grabbed hold of it and carefully studied its cover, realizing it was a diary. "Hey, whose diary is this?" the warrior of fire said aloud, presenting it to Clay and Raimundo.
"Must be someone's secret diary," Raimundo answered, "It's not mine, but maybe it was supposed to be hidden."
Dojo swooped over and rested on the book, coiling around Kimiko's arm. "That's Ping Pong's!" he proclaimed, "I saw the little guy writing in it when he had some time to himself in the rock garden."
"I reckon he'll be coming back for it soon," Clay added, "We'd better cut dirt and get this Temple on the ground as soon as possible!"
Willow and Omi slowly and gracefully bounced across the Temple grounds, sneaking past the Jack-bots that were still patrolling the area. Only Omi knew where the secret vault containing their most valuable objects was, and he hoped that he could still keep it a secret from Willow as she guarded him.
Suddenly, the two scaly heroes were faced with a small crowd of Jack-bots. Omi launched the first attack, using his Shoku Neptune power to freeze parts of his water bubble and send them flying towards the dastardly machines like bullets, shredding them to pieces. The warrior of water noticed that his bubble had shrunk slightly.
"Osu Stone!" Willow yelled, her voice sounding bubbly. She used the small Shen Gong Wu to push several Jack-bots away from her, sending them flying out into the depths of outer space. Some more robots appeared behind them, opening fire. Their lasers seared across their water bubbles, causing them to shrink in size again.
"We must hurry, or else we will have no water left!" Omi shouted, racing ahead. The two warriors in the bubbles bounced along, approaching the rock garden where Omi knew the entrance to the secret vault was. "Unfortunately, in order to be safe, I must reveal the location of the secret vault."
Omi reached outside of his water bubbled and pushed a boulder across the floor, revealing a small manhole like opening. Willow's eyes widened in anticipation and they entered the secret tunnels underneath the Temple. Both of them were unaware that the Egg of Ogumo had been bouncing after them, and it remained unnoticed as the boulder was pulled back into its original place.
"I promise I won't tell a soul it's here, Omi," Willow said softly as they drifted through the tunnel. "Have I mentioned that you look super cute as a merman?"
Omi blushed and made the dots on his forehead glow, providing minimum illumination. They carried on until they came to the great circular vault doors and the monkey statues on either side, where Omi immediately took the lead and drifted over to the statue that had the secret keypad.
"Stand back as I enter the code! If you peek, then you will fail your tiger instincts guessing training!" he announced with a small and haughty laugh.
Willow was watching the Shoku Warrior of water intently, but was then alerted by a scurrying sound in the shadows that only she could hear. She turned around to see the giant purple spider creature leap out of the darkness, floating at full speed towards Omi.
"Omi, look out!" she cried, startled by the spider's speed.
Before Omi could enter the first number, the little monk was battered by the monster's eight legs. His protective water bubble was splattered to pieces and he began to choke, but not before successfully pushing the spider away. As Omi coughed and spluttered, he dispelled the effects of the Gills of Hamachi and returned to his human form. It seemed like there was still a very small amount of air inside the secret vault room, but Omi looked almost lifeless as the supply of oxygen ran out quickly.
The spider creature bounced off a wall and leapt towards Willow, who managed to grab some of its sharp and pointy limbs in her hands to stop it from closing in on her with its sharp fangs. The monstrous arachnid tried to struggle free, but Willow managed to see the strange chip that Jack Spicer had attached to it. Avoiding its fangs, Willow successfully managed to pluck the chip from its body, causing it to revert back into the Egg of Ogumo.
Willow drifted towards Omi and hovered above his face, watching his eyes slowly open. "Willow, there is not much air in here," he groaned, sounding like he was on the edge of consciousness. "The shock of the attack has left me weak."
"Are you too shocked to enter the code?" Willow asked him, sounding strangely excited, but Omi did not notice.
Omi reactivated the Gills of Hamachi and entered Willow's bubble, but he was still too weak. "I will tell you the code," he moaned, breathing the water heavily. "The first number is forty…"
Willow entered the code as he said each number, and the round safe door slowly opened to reveal the extremely valuable mystical artefacts inside. The artefact that was most apparent to her was the legendary Treasure of the Blind Swordsman, but her attention shifted towards the warrior of water she held tight. Omi feebly gestured toward the Eagle Scope and Fountain of Hui Shen Gong Wu, and Willow lifted them out.
"We'll get these back to the others in no time," Willow said to Omi calmly.
Omi's eyes were closed, but he began to frown. "I am sorry I had to reveal the code to you, Willow maiden. I will have to change the combination as soon as the Temple returns to Earth."
Willow took the mind rewriting Quill of Fenghuang from the vault and pointed it at the bald monk's forehead. "You don't have to change that code, Omi," she said softly, but with a wicked smile on her face that the water warrior could not see. "You never told me it in the first place."
The other Xiaolin Warriors were waiting in almost silence, growing impatient with each minute their two friends had been outside. Clay was eating away his worries, pursuing food items floating through the air and trying to bite them. Raimundo was tiredly watching the spectacle, while Master Fung continued to meditate, petting the cowering Dojo.
"I know Omi will be okay," Kimiko said, trying to access the rocket systems on her laptop, but failing each time. "It's Willow I'm worried about. Maybe we should've tried to stop her risking her life?"
"The bravest warriors make sacrifices so others do not," Master Fung said calmly, "The purpose of a fifth chosen one was so that you could become not only stronger, but safer."
"Willow was so kind," Dojo said, "Maybe her Xiaolin Dragon element is the power of her heart."
"Earth, fire, wind, water, heart," Raimundo mumbled, "We'll really be able to save the planet."
There was a sudden loud pounding sound on the reinforced steel door, causing everyone to snap out of their gloominess and begin taking action. After securing themselves, the rest of the Xiaolin Warriors allowed Willow and Omi to enter before hastily sealing the door shut once again.
The heroes were immediately alarmed by Omi's condition, but Willow was quick to inform them that it was nothing to worry about. "He's been deprived of oxygen for a while," she explained, "He needs a little time to rest." She tossed the Egg of Ogumo into the centre of the room and showed them the chip that had been attached to it. "Jack used this chip to control the Shen Gong Wu, and used it to attack poor, brave Omi."
"Kimiko, do you think we could use that chip to access the rockets that Jack strapped to us?" the Xiaolin leader asked the warrior of fire.
"Let's find out," she replied, taking the Fountain of Hui and Eagle Scope off Willow's hands.
Kimiko called out the fountain's name, causing the mystical object to float up above her head. With a burst of light and a crackle of electricity, the Shen Gong Wu projected a dome of lightning around the warrior of fire's body. By calling out the Eagle Scope's name, images formed around her, already displaying information that was of her interest.
"All that knowledge," Willow mumbled, looking at the swirling images.
"I've got it!" Kimiko yelled, deactivating the Eagle Scope and Fountain of Hui. She immediately began to tap away at her computer, and both Raimundo and Clay looked over her shoulders at the screen intently. "I'll need that chip; I can use it to get into Jack's rocket engines!" Kimiko then looked over at the warriors of wind and earth with a frown. "And I'll need you to stop breathing down my neck!"
Clay and Raimundo smiled nervously and drifted away from her as Willow handed Kimiko the chip that had been attached to the Egg of Ogumo. Kimiko produced a thin cable from her pocket and wired the chip up to her laptop, enabling her to access the rocket engines that had been wired to the power grid.
"It's just like hacking in the movies!" Dojo exclaimed, "Lots of typing, text scrolling and needlessly detailed graphical representations of the computer system!"
"I'm in," Kimiko said, completing the process.
"See!" Dojo exclaimed again.
The slight hum of the rocket engines died down, and the Temple became much quieter. Kimiko quietly put her laptop back in its case, but she looked somewhat perturbed. "Good news first; I've managed to stop the rockets, and they're no longer making us go further into space."
"You really should've begun with the bad news," Clay mumbled, "Let's hear it anyway."
Kimiko took a deep breath before speaking. "The bad news is that we're in for a crash landing," Dojo began to panic immediately and bounce around the room before she continued, "But we can stop burning up in the atmosphere if I control the heat with my fire element, and Raimundo can use his wind element to steady us."
"Get moving!" Dojo screamed.
The reinforced door opened once again, and the Shoku Warriors of wind and fire hurried outside into the Temple's courtyard. The two of them were faced with a view of the Earth, glowing blue before their eyes. The two were momentarily captivated by its beauty, but then they focussed on their mission.
Kimiko ran towards the end of the Temple grounds that was facing the Earth, holding her palms out in front of her. "Shoku Fire Shield!" she cried, just as the Temple began to burn up as it entered the atmosphere. The flames curved around the Temple grounds, protecting their home.
Raimundo ran towards the back of the Temple and raised his arms, crying out "Shoku Astro, Wind!" to control the air of the atmosphere. A large tornado was summoned underneath the building, controlling its trajectory as it descended to Earth.
"Where are we landing, anyway?" Raimundo shouted, wincing as he tried to focus his Shoku Warrior powers to their full potential.
The warrior of fire tried to turn her head to face the team leader, but she needed complete focus on her powers as well. "Somewhere fitting!" she replied, gritting her teeth.
Meanwhile, Jack Spicer and his henchmen were in his basement lair after decorating it with party streamers and colourful balloons, each of them wearing a party hat. A banner that read 'No More Xiaolin Losers' was strung from one end of the room to the other, and on the wall was a 'Pin the Tail On the Dojo' game.
"It was pretty cool that the party store just so happened to have a banner with these words on it," Jack said, pointing to the banner above him.
A Jack-bot carrying a punch bowl hovered up to Katnappé's side. "I can't believe I'm saying this again, but I wasn't expecting your plan to work this well," she said, pouring some punch into a glass.
Jack was distracted by Tubbimura trying to limbo dance, while a sniggering Vlad watched. "No, no, no! Limbo dancing doesn't start until after charades!" Jack snapped, producing a schedule sheet from his pocket and pointing at it forcefully. "This is the party I've always wanted and I want it to go exactly as I planned!"
Jack's loud voice made Tubbimura fall over, landing on his rear with a thud. The cheesy music playing in the background was drowned out by a roaring sound from outside, and Jack excitedly ran to the basement window to see what it was.
"That must be Whoopsie the clown's tuck! He's here early!" he exclaimed, pressing his face against the glass. Instead of seeing a colourful clown's truck, Jack saw a flaming object in the sky hurtling towards the house. "Everyone, outside!" he shrieked.
As each villain exited the Spicer house, they were handed a small party favour each by a Jack-bot standing by the door. Jack continued to run while his henchmen stampeded after him, running as far away from the house as they could. They turned to face the way they came and saw the Xiaolin Temple falling out of the sky directly above them. The crowd of evildoers was awestruck; Vlad's jaw dropped and caused the party horn in his mouth to fall to the ground, while Le Mime quickly pulled the lampshade on top of his head over his face.
Just as the Xiaolin Temple was a few metres above the house, it seemed to pause in midair, held up by a tornado whirling around its base. After a few seconds, the building suddenly dropped, sending a cloud of dust and debris towards Jack and company. The villains shielded their faces from the intense dust storm, and when the roaring had stopped, moved their hands away from their eyes.
Jack's house was no more; in its place stood the Xiaolin Temple, still as pristine as it was before it took off into space. "Karma is a cruel mistress," whimpered Tubbimura.
The boy genius's face was completely expressionless, and seemed paler than it usually was. "My house," he gasped, "They dropped their house on my house."
"Ooh, bummer," Katnappé mumbled, still taking a drink from her glass of fruit punch.
Jack dropped to his knees, propping himself up with his arms. "I didn't have time to take the pizzas out of the oven," he whispered distraughtly. He suddenly got to his feet, grabbed Katnappé by the shoulders, and yelled at her in exasperation, "We were literally two minutes away from pizza time!"
There was another roar, but this time it was the roar of rocket engines. The Xiaolin Temple slowly lifted off the ground until it hovered a hundred feet in the air, gradually floating over the horizon. The villains began to grumble to one another over their disappointment in the party's sudden end, but Jack ran over to the crater where his house had once been.
Jack crawled through the rubble of his home, tossing debris to the side as he searched for what he wanted. "They took most of our Shen Gong Wu!" he cried as he lifted the few remaining mystical artefacts out of the wreckage.
Something caught his eye amongst the wreckage; the remains of his oven. The boy genius crawled on his hands and knees towards the destroyed kitchen appliance, prizing its door open. Jack pulled out a mangled pizza tray, covered in the gooey remains of the pizza.
"I need some time alone," he whispered, looking back at his fellow villains.
Miles away, on the other side of the globe, the Xiaolin Temple neatly dropped back into its original position. Kimiko had perfectly managed to gain control of the rockets that Jack had attached to the Temple, temporarily converting their home into a spaceship of sorts. The Xiaolin Warriors and their wise master stepped outside, breathing in the fresh Earth air.
"What a marvellous journey!" Omi exclaimed, finally returned to his senses.
"It was probably scientifically inaccurate," Dojo added, "But fun nonetheless." It seemed like the diminutive dragon had forgotten he had been scared senseless by the ordeal.
Master Fung approached Willow and Omi, smiling warmly. "Without your efforts today, Kimiko would not have been able to liberate us from Jack Spicer's grasp," he said, handing Willow a dark blue sash he held on his arm. "Willow, you have proven that you are a worthy Xiaolin Apprentice. Not only did you risk your safety for your new comrades, you also managed to keep calm when doing battle with Chase Young. The other monks chose wisely," he continued.
"Golly, I don't know what to say!" said an awestruck Willow, wrapping the sash around her waist immediately.
Kimiko looked at the diary of Ping Pong in her hands, remembering how excited that the little monk had been before declining the chance to be the fifth Xiaolin Warrior. While Raimundo came to Willow to congratulate her on her ascension, Omi approached the warrior of fire.
"I'm afraid I revealed the secret location of the secret vault to Willow," the water monk mumbled unhappily. "Please understand it was a life or doom situation."
"Don't worry," Kimiko said with a wink, leaning towards Omi. "The vault has multiple entrances, but only one remains functional at a time! You just need to change it," she said quietly.
"It is fortunate that I did not reveal the secret code to her, either!" Omi whispered back.
Willow, however, had managed to overhear the conversation between the warriors of fire and water. She frowned at the news that the entrance could be changed, but smiled slyly when she realized that Omi did not remember what truly happened.
In the meantime, Jack Spicer travelled up the same mountain road he had used to reach the mystical ley line where his secret project was hidden. He was driving a battered looking recreational vehicle, one of the few things that had survived the destruction of his home.
"Those losers will pay," Jack mumbled to himself as he looked at a photograph propped up against the dashboard; an image of himself looking pleased with the pizza he was placing in the oven.
The sky was beginning to darken with rain clouds as the road became more treacherous. The RV came to a bend with a billboard, and Jack produced a remote like device from the glove compartment, pressing the largest red button. The billboard collapsed, forming a bridge that connected the road with a hidden route that led deep into a mountain cave.
Jack pressed the button again, opening a secret doorway within the cave. The RV emerged inside a large laboratory, with computers and other machinery constructed from pitch black metal and illuminated with foreboding red lights. The vehicle came to a stop, and Jack hastily hopped out, walking towards a platform.
He pressed a button on the console attached to the platform's railings, causing it to rise upwards. The secret lair's ceiling opened up, and the dim sky above provided enough light to reveal the towering figure before him.
Jack had built the colossus in the shape of an image he had seen in an inspiring dream, and it was almost a perfect match, standing around fifty feet tall. The metal giant was vaguely draconic or dinosaurian, with a hunched posture, elongated neck and clawed hands.
"Nice weapon you've got there," said a feminine voice from behind him.
Jack looked back to see Shadow standing on the platform with him, smirking slyly. Jack shrieked in alarm and lost his balance, falling over the railings. As the cowardly boy genius plummeted, he felt a strong hand grip him by the legs and place his feet on the ground.
He found himself looking into the eyes of Chase Young. "Having fun with your little project, Spicer?" he questioned bemusedly.
Coughing and spluttering, Jack attempted to reply. "Yeah, I've been doing some things!" he said with a stutter, trying to recover from the fall he had experienced and trying to keep his cool in front of the powerful Heylin Warrior.
"I see you've mastered the ability to combine mystical powers with modern technology. I have to say, I'm fairly impressed," Chase said, briefly looking at the cylindrical tanks of bubbling liquid that were illuminated behind him.
Jack was taken back, trying to keep a straight face and trying not to burst out into a celebratory song and dance. "Wow, really? You think my stuff is cool?"
"It is a step in the right direction," Chase replied, folding his arms.
"Too bad he couldn't send the monks drifting out into the cold darkness of space," added Shadow, followed by some devious sniggering.
Jack looked up at her, still standing on the elevated platform. "You seem familiar," Jack said to her, squinting his eyes.
Shadow smiled and briefly transformed into Willow, startling Jack before reverting to her dark persona once again. "You didn't want to go easy on me, even though I was a 'newbie'. Your combat tactics are devious, but everything else about you needs to change," she said with another chuckle.
"Oh, I get it!" Jack exclaimed with a grin, "You're a mole! Those Xiaolin losers are way too trustworthy!"
"We came to you because we're in need of a little assistance," Chase continued to explain. "The monks are keeping their most vital possessions in a secret vault, separate to their other precious playthings. We need to locate the entrance of this vault, so we're here to ask you if you can place a tracking device on Omi. The warrior of water is the only one who knows its location."
Jack raised an eyebrow and put a finger to his chin. "I thought you weren't interested in the Shen Gong Wu."
"With their most prized possessions gone, the monks will lose all morale!" Chase snapped, his reptilian eyes looked like they were burning. Jack's head retracted into his coat like a frightened turtle's. "We need their power!"
"Whatever you say, boss!" Jack stuttered, peeking out from his coat, "I'll plant a bug on Omi when I next see him!"
"Very good," Chase calmed down significantly, "You shall receive a small reward for your efforts. Do not disappoint me."
Dark green smoke began to spiral around Chase's body until it enveloped him completely, and with a sudden flash of eerie light from within, the Heylin Warrior vanished. Shadow smirked, and like her namesake, transformed into a dark spectre and slithered out of sight.
When Jack was confident they were out of the secret lair, he resumed gazing up at the colossus. "Don't you worry Chase; I'll be the one who finishes the Xiaolin losers off!" he said quietly to himself. "You can't even beat the dweebs anymore. It's about time for you step aside and let me take the spotlight! With my Doomsday-bot, I'll be invincible!"
