Sorry it's been a while, but sometimes real life is important. For both me and my Beta. Speaking of which, once again, thanks to Blonde-And-Quirky (correct name this time) for beta reading this for me.

Because I left you guys for such a long time let's play a game. I made a number of references in this chapter, some clever, some not, some you just won't get. Find three of those references. PM me with the title 'Let's play' and establish a DocX connection with me and I'll send you a one shot of a story I wrote of the aftermath of episode four from vol. 2 that I likely won't publish unless I get a good reason to. And don't worry if you don't get them. All attempts are rewarded. Here are some hints.

Three are of technology companies; two are of animation studios; one is of an actual place that exist which one of the setting in this story; one is of a published Fan Fiction I read; and one is an actual thing exists in real life. Good luck.

Ruby came to Beacon expecting a number of things, with her goal set to be the very best huntress Remnant had to offer. It was nothing short of a blessing when she ran into the headmaster of one of the oldest but also the most prestigious institutions of the world. And he, Professor Ozpin, personally offered Ruby Rose a place at Beacon Academy two years ahead of her peers. Two years! This fifteen year old girl was a student at Beacon and the youngest ever allowed into the school.

Ruby had the biggest; cockiest grin one person could produce on their face. Now she was about to fly head first into a giant bird frozen to a rocky cliff side by its tail. With her feet resting on a strange circular symbol and a surprisingly elastic black ribbon held in place by her older sister, the blond beauty in gold and her mysterious assassin partner clad in black Ruby tried her best to calm her heart from beating out of her chest.

But this was just too much fun!

The fight up until this point had been intense and the young scythe wielder was fortunate enough to see it. That's when she noticed it, that these next four years would be the best four years of her life. Her team and the four comrades that they were locked in this death battle with would be one of the best teams that Beacon Academy would ever have to offer to the world. She was living the dream!

And all she had to do was fly into the crying beak of the massive bird shouting promises to end them swiftly. Then drag it up a cliff using the recoil of her massive death trap before slicing its head clean from its neck.

The plan was suicidal but in the grand scheme of things this would definitely prove that she was more than prepared to be here. Besides that with all that happened today and even the fight up to this point, she considered her plan to be almost too tame. Running her hand over the rifle-scythe combination weapon, Ruby took this opportunity to review the battle in her mind. Time felt incredibly slow and since it was offering some reprieve she thought to admire all that happened.

The fighting was intense. The eight of them were attempting to run from a scorpion-like Deathstalker and the avian Nevermore to rendezvous at a specific meeting point out of Emerald Forest to complete their initiation. But the creature of Grimm had other ideas, and for trespassing into their territory they required a sacrifice.

Ruby and her comrades; however, were unwilling to be said offerings. While Jaune, his partner Pyrrha and two other students, a boy clad in green and a much shorter hammer wielding girl, killed off the hulking scorpion like creature Ruby and they remaining four left tackled the Nevermore.

And now it came down to this moment. Ruby came up with the idea to launch herself into the air from a makeshift slingshot. Now her life was in the hands of her new skeptical ally and partner Weiss Schnee, who stood right beside her with a smug grin, but not one that wasn't welcomed. It was more of confidence than arrogance and Ruby couldn't help but feel she and Weiss were thinking the same thing.

"Think you can make the shot?" Ruby asked, but lacking the any fear one would expect to have in this situation.

Almost as if it was rhetorical to ask Weiss replied, "Hmm, can I." And they knew Weiss had to make the shot. If she missed she'd be sending Ruby to an early grave. Ruby was mostly calm about what was to happen, but at the thought that her plan would fail a small shadow of worry crossed her face. She had to ask.

"Can you—"

"Off course I can!" Right, well that was settled.

Shifting focus back to the struggling Nevermore Ruby cocked her gun once. This was it; she was really going to fly. She and her sister had foolishly tried it numerous times when they were kids and she had pictures to prove it. Let's just say a cardboard box and semblance that produces fire as an after effect does not make for a good fuselage and propulsion system. But now she was going to soar. Almost bursting with glee Ruby began a mental countdown.

At three she gripped Crescent Rose tighter. At two she could feel Weiss shift the circle behind her to a new position. At one she was flung into the air, shooting rounds behind her to increase her momentum to keep forward and travel longer. At zero she was at the beast's neck and—

"RUBY GET UP!"

Ruby's eyes bolted open wide, said girl snorting as her eyes tried to adjust to the daylight peeking through her window. It took five minutes for the young girl with short black and red hair to become conscious of her surroundings, all the while a boisterous feminine voice kept calling her name. Ruby wished they'd stop long enough for her to gather her thought and put them to use in instructing her body to move.

When the voice wouldn't let up long enough for her to actually wake up Ruby clumsily reached out to grab her alarm clock. Focusing her eyes on the LCD screen in blue she noted the time being exactly seven fifty-eight in the morning. Well that as odd. She was usually up by this time, albeit more grumpy and sluggish than she was now, and if the given time was correct she'd usually be going to her second class of the day.

That meant one of two things: either she was late to school and one of her assignment effectively marked an entire letter grade down, or it was the weekend and she didn't need to get up.

"RUBY YOU ARE WASTING PRECIOUS SUNDAY DAYLIGHT!"

Not that she was really asking as she didn't care at this point, she was nonetheless thankful for the correct answer to question she didn't bother asking. But that didn't pose a new question. Why was Yang waking her up at this ungodly hour on a weekend? Throwing her alarm clock on the floor Ruby moaned and flipped over in her bed, pulling the sheets closer to her chin to secure more warmth.

Ruby was only able to secure ten more minutes of sleep. By this time Ruby had drifted off and was well on her way back to her dream, a gloriously battle against a giant avian creature. Just as shapes and colors were forming to pick up the story where she last left off Ruby's eyes bolted open again as she let out another groan, this time from the pain of something heavy crashing on top of her.

"Yang, get off! You are too freakin' heavy!" she groaned suppressing the urge to curse.

"Oh so what, you callin' me fat now?" said person responded giggling.

"Sí, eres gorda y muy fea! Baja ahora!" the smaller girl commanded as she could feel her sister hold a pillow against her face. Yes, you are fat and very ugly! Get off now!

The older blond laughed as the younger girl struggled under her weight. Ruby knew Yang didn't know much of any Spanish but could understand what she said. While they lived in a multicultural household of three languages Yang simply never took the time out to learn a lot of it, preferring what Ruby thought was language of insults and complaining. At least that's what it sounded like when her father and sister spoke in Chinese.

That said, between the amounts of time their mother spent complaining in what was unintelligible tongue for the blond and Ruby's habit of speaking both English and Spanish in the same sentence, Yang knew enough to know when Ruby shouted commands; and when she was being insulted.

"I am totally not fat and ugly! I am a beautiful blond goodness and you are just jealous this is all muscle." To illustrate her point Yang flexed her bicep despite Ruby's vision being block by her pillow. "Now get up. You have to help me with stuff today."

As Yang removed the pillow from her face Ruby gasped, finally breathing. "I have things to do too Yang! I can't help you with whatever work or personal problem you are having today!"

"Which is why I got you up early; you can still help me and go on your play date with Weiss", Yang joked, though she fully aware it was less of a play date and more of slave master Schnee forcing the girl to give up four hours of her Sunday to study. "Seriously, we need to go shopping so I can purchase a new phone." Yang then stood up and hovering over Ruby's bed held out her hand. "Ol' faithful is out for the count."

Ruby examined the broken mess that was the antiquated technology of a flip phone in Yang's hand with amusement. Yang was a scrooge, a scrooge that absolutely hated replacing anything that worked by her low standards or could be fixed for cheaper, unless it was her bike. The motorcycle was valued as close to the cost Ruby's tuition because Yang built it by hand.

This was also the same reason why she mocked her sister now. "I told you to replace that flip phone with something current years ago but you just refused you old hag. ¿Fue una planificación seria para mantener en el teléfono hasta que murieras?" Were you serious planning to hold onto the phone until you died?

Yang rolled her eyes and walked towards Ruby's door to leave. However, the younger sister wouldn't let up. She was content to lie in bed, head resting on the open palm of hand, arm held up by her elbow. "Or were you planning to dismantle it and use the parts in Bumblebee when they need to be replaced? Or pass it on to your children along with you stories about the war? ¿Cómo se te rompas el teléfono? (How do you break your phone?) I never thought it would break since you duct taped it enough so that it had its own bullet-proof vest for a phone cover!"

The snickering that followed implied Ruby thought she was clever. But Yang did not take to kind to the insults. And Yang knew she could outdo her sister. "Get up now or I'll tell Jaune and Weiss about your more sensual dreams direct from your dream journal."

Ruby's eyes widen at the threat. "You wouldn't!'

From under the yellow hoodie Yang wore the blond produced a small black leather bound book with no writing or distinguishable markings, but a red silk book marker. Flipping open the book Yang grinned as she licked her thumb and turned a page. "This one is from two weeks ago and, oh, it's my new favorite, for obvious reasons." Yang waggled her eyebrows as Ruby stared on in horror. "Let's see… 'I didn't understand what was happening but as I watched I felt a primal instinct in me rise as I felt myself growing attracted to her. '"

"STOP! I'm up! I'm awake!"

Yang heard her sister's cries but continued with her torment. "'It seemed like I was in some sort of trance. The way she moved was corrupting my mind and I could feel my senses being overwhelmed by her perfume as she danced. Sweat and vanilla was a potent combination and with each whiff I grew hungry for—'"

"Yang, come on! Stop reading it!"

"'She was so damn beautiful; her out of place smile intoxication. I wanted to run my hand over every piece of skin on her petite and fit body and explore the forbidden regions of her—'"

"OH MY GOD YANG, please stop reading! I'm getting dressed now, see!?" Ruby cried out, face turning red as she tugged at the bottom of her tank top.

Yang watched in delight at her sister tripping over the various object around her floor taking off sleepwear and throwing them wherever to replace them with other articles of clothing. Pleased by said turn of events Yang closed the book and threw it on Ruby's bed.

"Shower first then get dressed. Oh and next time you call me fat I will be having a private reading for our friends." Ruby then watched as Yang winked then walk away with a grin plastered on her face declaring victory.

Time and time again Ruby hid her journal from her older sister ever since she started to keep one, afraid she'd use it as leverage into getting her to complete chores or do something Ruby refused. At first it wasn't an issue of wither or not Ruby had a dream journal. Yang didn't know she had so many frequent dreams and nightmares. But when Yang discovered her secret the blond often stole her book just to read it for entertainment. And no matter how creative Ruby would become hiding her beloved journal, Yang always found it.

Ruby may have been able to recount her dreams long enough to document them, but Yang was the one with the photographic memory. Things she read or saw that left a lasting impression on her or that she needed to remember, she never forgets. Even if Ruby burned her tome, it would forever be engraved in Yang's mind like a picture taken from a camera or a popular often quoted movie.

Plopping back down on her bed Ruby sighed and glared at her book. She then slowly reached for it and a pencil conveniently on her floor. Ruby went back and quickly read over the one Yang was reciting.

'Finally she leaned close to me and whispered in my ear…'

Ruby blushed and after an awkward cough turned to a fresh page to start her new entry.

Last night I had another Beacon Academy dream. It was initiation day…

Forty minutes. It took Ruby forty minutes to get ready. Ten minutes to shower, five to get dressed and pack whatever belonging she need for the day, and the rest of that time was devoted to recording her dream. When she was finally ready Ruby exited her room only to be greeted by her sister's sunny smile and a breakfast spread that would make the fattest man jealous.

Eggs with cheese and smoked sausages were arranged on a platter with buttermilk pancakes and biscuits. Oatmeal was off to the side sitting by an arrangement of various fruits and jellies, most notably grapes, strawberries and bananas. The meal was complete with her favorite drink, milk.

Yang may have enjoyed her fair share of pranks but always made up for them. And her borderline motherly nature towards her sister made sure of that. Almost every day Yang made sure she cooked breakfast for Ruby and it was one of the many reasons why she loved her sister dearly. She often overdid it, like now, but they both knew that in comparison to how much they could store in their stomachs, this spread was quite tame.

But Ruby was grateful. No way would she survive shopping with Yang and studying with Weiss. The heiress appeared to drain reserves of other's energy from complaining and her usual demands just as much as Ruby could from her overzealous personality. Yang must have cooked such a meal so Ruby would be full, happy, and prepared to deal with the princess.

I guess I can forgive her, again...

No words were exchanged. The two sat, and with unspoken exchanges made with eye contact, filled their bottomless pits before the duo headed out to complete today's task of buying Yang a new phone.

Ruby wasn't sure why Yang needed her to come along for the journey, but a small inquiry the younger sister made as they rode on Bumblebee made it clear Yang intended to use her sister's student discount to reduce the cost of the new hardware she was soon to get. She then went on to explain the story behind her broken phone, which resulted in the blond recalling the terrible set of events at Jaune's restaurant.

Ruby sighed, her light voice being heard through the microphones in the motorcycle helmet. "I'm sorry Yang. Really, I am. If I had known Miltiades had been sneaking about and stalking you I would have done something..."

Pulling up to a stop light Yang waved her hand dismissively. "I doubt there was anything you could have done to prevent it. She was drunk and while Melanie still acts…cordial around you, any mention of my name throws all pleasantries out the window."

Inside her graffiti colored red and black helmet Ruby frowned and hummed in agreement. "So what are you gonna do? Try again or sit back and come with a new strategy?"

The light changed green and after a minute of silence Yang responded, "Let my setback fuel my comeback."

"Uh… what?"

"I'm going to try harder! Use this failure as motivation to for my second attempt."

"And just what is your second attempt?" Ruby asked curiously.

Yang was silent for another minute before responding, "To be honest, I haven't though that far ahead yet."

Following Yang's admission the duo pulled up into a parking garage two blocks away from the location of the building they needed to go.

"You really have no clue about what to do?" Ruby curiously asked as they pulled into an empty space on the first floor.

"Wasn't it you that said I should just wing it?" Yang responded, standing up and swinging a leg over her bike, removing her helmet.

Ruby spent a good minute recalling the advice she had given her sister and relented, humming in agreement once again.

"So, since you dragged me out here, do you know which phone you are going to buy?" Ruby asked, ready to change to topic of conversation as she removed her own headgear.

"Simple. I'm buying the cheapest one."

Ruby sighed. "Yang, you did not drag me out of bed early on Sunday so that you could buy a five year old basic smart phone for forty lien, which you will get another five percent off of!" The way Ruby spoke told Yang that while she was waiting for confirmation it was more of a statement as she finished with, "Because if that's your goal then you are sorely mistaken."

Sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck Yang replied, "Actually kiddo, I kinda did get you out of bed early on Sunday so I could by a forty lien phone with an additional five percent off."

In the parking garage the two stood, their body language reenacting an old western film. Ruby was throwing glares at her sister like bullets, while Yang tried to avoid them by looking away in every direction that wasn't close to Ruby. At this point Ruby was considering two options. She could go into the Vale Union, the student union building, but mostly the main recreational activity center on campus to sleep on one of the many couches or recliners until Weiss arrived; or she convince her sister to buy a phone within the recent year or something that wasn't be the equivalent of a walkie-talkie.

Ruby chose the former, or at least tried to.

As Ruby started to head for the stairs that lead inside the building Yang grasped her by the hood of her red light jacket, chuckling and pointing in the opposite direction, "Whoa there sis! Exit out into the streets are that way. Now let's go so we can get this shopping done!"

And like a grumpy grandfather whose grandchildren refused to buy his favorite cigarettes, Ruby complained as Yang literally dragged her sister outside, down two blocks, and inside a modern stylized research laboratory that appeared more as an art center and small theater.

It was inside The Oum Center for the Arts that could be found a small café and art store on the bottom floor. Inside the store they sold a variety of products. It was mostly books on contemporary art, DVDs of Japanese cartoons, vinyl records of Brazilian music, and odd knickknacks that were the wet dreams of hipsters. But it was inside the small store that one would find a registered retailer of Grape Incorporated, a registered retailer that also conveniently sold many phone brands on top of the various electronics the company sold yearly.

The moment the duo got close to the store Yang regretted bringing Ruby to this hipster utopia, for no sooner had Yang crossed the threshold did Ruby run about the store as if she had drank one hundred cups of coffee.

Ruby jumped in front of the counter and exclaimed, "Yang! Yang! They have the new iSeed S in stock!" Two seconds later she was at the back of the store crying out "¡Dios mío! Bossa Nova and the Rise of Brazilian Music in the 1960s; la tienda vende los discos de vinilo por treinta lien!" Oh my God! Bossa Nova and the Rise of Brazilian Music in the 1960s; the store sells the vinyl records for thirty lien!

Yang groaned and slapped the palm of hand to her face. Leave it to Ruby to enjoy hipster paradise. Ignoring her sister's cries of excitement and squeals of joy at finding another Studio Sirocco film the blond turned to attending store clerk who was watching with an amused—or was it a bewitched grin? An enamored smile? Yang wasn't sure. But she could clearly see the light pink on his cheeks and goofy smile as his eyes—or lack of eyes, given his eye lids didn't look open—followed her sister's throughout the store.

"Hey, you mind helping me? I want to buy a phone." Yang casually greeted, wisely choosing to keep her thoughts, including a series of nicknames and jokes she came up with at the boy's expense, to herself.

The student behind the counter didn't respond. All of his attention was focused on the Ruby zooming throughout the establishment laughing and gather a rather large pile of books, toys, and DVDs—presumably to buy.

Yang was quite curious as to why he was watching Ruby with such interest but was more interested in purchasing a phone. So in her second attempt to gather his attention she walked in front of his view as Ruby hovered over another table of movie and coughed twice. This time he did notice the taller woman and chose to direct his gaze at Yang.

Leaning slightly forward to read the name on his name tag hanging from his neck Yang greeted the student again. "Hiya Dove! I was wondering if you could help me out. I want to buy a phone."

Dove lifted his hand to rub the back of his neck. "Well, what kind of phone would you like to buy?" he asked.

Before Yang cold elaborate Ruby appeared right beside her, startling her sister and Dove with her sudden appearance. In her arms she held what looked like a grocery list of items that were spilling on the display case of electronics. "My sister wants the best smartphone you have in store," she interrupted, "like an iSeed or Mindows phone or— Dove?! Hey, I didn't know you worked here! Aren't there football practices you should be at right now?"

The blush on Dove's cheeks returned as he flashed an awkward smile, once again rubbing his neck for comfort or to have something for his hands to do. "Well, I work here during the off seasons and spring training. But I'll be quitting soon into the summer. Coach Meijer—"

"Hey that's wonderful and all but I just want to get a phone and my sister here has plans today", Yang interrupted. "So I just need the cheapest one you got and I'll be going. You two can exchange phone numbers and go on a date later."

With both parties blushing Dove bent down a pulled a small case from behind the counter. Setting it in front of Yang the young man explained that inside was a Blueberry Z10, the oldest but cheapest model phone they had. Depending on carrier it came with a reduced price in lien, otherwise it was five hundred upfront or twenty-five lien on top of one's bill for twenty months.

Yang looked at the phone then back at Dove with a scowl. "You're joking right? That's the cheapest you got!? "

Dove frowned, his eyes slowly shifting to an inattentive Ruby before snapping back to Yang. Feeling rather guilty he explained it was the best he could do unless the blond took advantage of a promotional deal that was currently running. Yang perked up once she heard promotional deal and prompted Dove to continue.

At this point Ruby had tuned out, her interest having peaked then dropped. She was not as tired as she had been but the weary feelings from lack of sleep did not completely leave her. Only half concentrating on the task of picking out a few items to buy from the grocery basket of things she caught snippets of the conversation Yang was having with her classmate. Apparently her neo-luddite of a sister had been convinced to buy a phone from last season's lineup of electronics. And in doing so she would receive a free scroll, a tablet like device meant to serve as an in between or alternative to computers for those who could not afford better.

Having settled on what she wanted Ruby turned her full attention back to the matter at hand. Before her sister there were four different phone cases with each holding a different phone. Without a clue as to which fit her needs best, Yang was hovering over each, reluctant to pick one up, trying to use her visual examination of each object to decide. Ruby knew there were more choices, but after a quick examination of each phone she knew Dove had picked the best he could offer. Perhaps he was intent on really selling one today.

"So um, other than style I really see no difference in these phones. How do I pick?" Yang spoke.

Ruby chuckled and picked a random phone from the four, turned it on, and placed it in her sister's palms to hold. "Just try them out Yang. Not every phone is the same."

Without much acknowledgement to Ruby the blond poked around the phone settling while asking question about what type of phone each was, what the icons on each screen represented, and other features each had. She wasn't completely out of the loop when it came to things like these. She did know her way around a computer, but as Ruby often joked, if it wasn't motorcycle related Yang knew nothing about it. So after running through the remaining phones she still appeared unconvinced.

"Just don't see myself needing any of these. I love gadgets like these as much as the next guy, but all these features just seem unnecessary", Yang admitted.

"Well you don't have much of a choice. I told you that you'll be sorely mistaken if you think you could just buy another cheap one." Looking among the choices Ruby picked up a bright yellow phone and asked, "Why not buy this one? It's your color and the cheapest one here. And it's got a ton of useful applications preloaded; financial apps to check banking accounts, free games to play on the go; a dictionary, thesaurus, and translation app—"

"The phone has translation app; as in a translator?" Yang interrupted to ask.

Before Ruby could confirm Yang had snatched away the device to look for the program her sister was referring to. Indeed, under a tab marked "Education" on the device was a translator, the simple application instructing Yang to input two languages or return to the home screen to configure settings. The wheels in Yang's head started turning, the expressions on her face telling of a debate she was currently engaged in with herself.

"Ruby, say something in Spanish that I would know!"

A bit startled by the sudden request Ruby responded with the first thing that came to mind. "¿Cómo te llamas?" What is your name?

Having recognized a language that was not English the little device beeped and Yang's face lit up once she read the translation on screen. Impressed but not yet sold Yang again asked the same question but in a different language, one she spoke fluently. "Nǐ jiào shénme míngzì?" she spoke and again the phone beeped having heard Yang. This time the blond squealed in delight, "It works!"

"Was it not supposed to—", Ruby began.

"I'll take this one!"

"Um, okay. Wow, I actually sold my first phone here", Dove exclaimed.

"Wait, you're buying this phone, because of a translation app? Why?" Ruby inquired.

"All in due time sis, all in due time."

Ruby didn't understand her sister's logic in the reason purchasing this phone, but they had set out what they intended to do. And they completed it with less complications than either thought would come from shopping. There was no real reason to complain right? Well unfortunately the most entertaining part of this trip was over. Now that Yang had settled on a phone, she'd begin the arduous task of haggling, something which Ruby despised with every fiber of her being. Tuning her sister out once again as she attempted to bargain by any means necessary Ruby waited near the front counter to prod through her sister's new phone.

She wanted to see what the fuss was about this application that pushed Yang to make this purchase. Haphazardly Ruby began typing phrases into the phone for translations. She started with Chinese, then Russian, followed by French, and lastly German. It was then that a thought occurred to Ruby. Shifting her eyes to her sister she could see the blond still bartering. Turning her back towards her Ruby held the device close her lips and spoke some rather awkward German. Once again the little device translated the phrase, only this time Ruby blushed at what appeared.

'So this is what she said in my dream.'

Coughing Ruby exited the app and placed the phone next to her sister, along with a few items she intended to buy and some money. Walking out the store Ruby called out, "If everything is alright here I have to go meet Weiss now. Do you mind buying that stuff for me?" Ruby looked back to see her sister wave her hand lazily at her before pushing her junk towards Dove. Satisfied Ruby disappeared from sight.

Meanwhile Yang was positively giddy. This new phone was going to be doing wonders for her. As Dove rang up the purchase for the device and Ruby's items Yang could practically imagine the things she could do with her new smartphone, like her taxes and looking up new cooking recipes while at the store. But most importantly that translation application would be one huge step in the right direction with Blake. She could finally talk to her and understand whatever the Faunus would say in French!

Watching as Dove lazily packed everything in bags she could only repeat one thought in her mind. This was the best decision she had ever made.

This was the worse decision she had ever made. How could a simple smart phone cause so much trouble for her sister? Looking around the group she read the various expressions of everyone she could see. The kitchen staff looked either shocked or confused, minus Mr. Port who was neutral. Jaune looked abashed, his head turning away from her as he blushed, like he heard something private surely not meant for his ears. But he also looked like he was struggling.

Oh right, he was struggling with Blake.

He was holding on Blake, his arms snaked under hers and curled around her shoulders, as she too was blushing but not with shame. It was with fury and embarrassment. In front of Blake sat Yang, limp and hunched over. Her hair hid her face pretty well but Ruby knew the expression her face. She wore the most broken defeated expression Ruby had seen, with her own cheek a blaze in embarrassment and shame.

In fact the only happy face around them minus the patrons not paying attention was Weiss. Weiss was, if you believe it, laughing! She looked positively delighted and tears were forming in her eyes from being so entertained. And God it was beautiful, to see her white teeth, her sapphire eyes wide with joy, her voice full with glee and her lips in anything but a frown. Her lips were a main focal point for Ruby. She felt so drawn to them and—

"Only an idiot would dare to ask a woman something like; a very perverted, desperate idiot", the white haired girl choked out. "You got what was coming to you Xiao Long!"

Right, Yang got in trouble again, because of a mistake Ruby made.

Rewinding to the events of just twenty minutes ago Ruby and Weiss were enjoying an evening in Jaune's restaurant, still discussing homework. The duo hadn't finished a lot of their work together, Ruby lacking a little more energy than usual to do it despite the heiress's determinations to finish. Yang was there as well, and after her sister and the Ice Queen exchanged their usual banter that had become more friendly and less insulting over the years, she was now enthusiastically showing off her new purchase to Jaune.

Eventually Blake came in to work a late shift, despite Jaune insistence Blake didn't have to work at his restaurant every day. That's when Yang made her supposedly calculated move.

"Hey, Blake, um…I was wondering, do you have a moment to talk?"

The Faunus' face was set into a scowl, clearly not wishing to spend her time talking to the woman; not after the events of yesterday. Blake opened her mouth to answer, probably with another aloof response meant to make her disdain very clear. However after an obvious cough by Jaune to gain her attention, followed by the blond chef mouthing something in French, the Faunus thought better of it. She instead nodded she would listen.

Yang tried to explain that last night's events were a misunderstanding. From what Ruby recalled Yang said Jaune had spoken to Blake to clear her name. Ruby thought now her sister took the opportunity explain what happened herself.

"But for now on, I think we can avoid such things, because I have this!"

Yang then went on to showcase her phone, and specifically the translation application that she claimed would allow her and the Faunus to talk easier. And fortunate for Yang, the Faunus seemed very interested in what she had at the time. Much like how the blond acted in the store Blake examined the device as if she had never had one before. It was comical to watch Blake visually examine the device and gingerly handle it, not quite sure if it was durable. But the usual tense atmosphere that existed between the two was nowhere to be seen. It seemed this would turn out well for her sister.

Then she went and asked Weiss for help.

"Hey Weiss, you speak German right?"

"Of course, as well as Italian, French, Dutch, and—"

"Great! Well look, I don't what's going on but this entire app is in German. Think you can change it back to English so I can show her?"

Weiss huffed but with a gentle shove from Ruby agreed to assist. She was aware of the situation with Yang's desperate desire to ask the French chef out on a date. And while she couldn't care less how well this was working for the blond she was willing to play nice just to see how far things would go.

That's when thing started downhill. Maybe Weiss saw something she did not like. It looked that way when Weiss first took the phone and read what was on screen. Blushing furiously and staring at the yellow phone with an angry glare Ruby could note the beginnings of an furious rant forming in her frosty friend's mind ready to drip from her lips. Then, just as quick as Weiss anger came it disappeared, replaced with a mischievous glint in her eyes instead of the usual tongue lashing.

Maybe Weiss took this opportunity to play a cruel prank on her sister. It seemed that way when the girl in white returned Yang's phone this time in French. Confused and annoyed as to why Weiss didn't do as request Yang tried to argue but Weiss rebuttal declaring, "Blake would be infinitely more impressed…" leaving it hanging as to how. Yang foolishly took the bait and eagerly returned to a surprisingly interested and patient Blake. Meanwhile Weiss stuck close to Ruby, all focus on the duo ahead of them.

Whatever it was going on it Weiss's head, it was the start of a very bad situation for Yang. Ruby asked what she was thinking, but the only reply she got was "Showtime."

Blake examined the blonde's phone with a small smirk on her lips, slowly deforming into a neutral glare, her cheeks burning up hot. She bowed her head letting her bangs hide her face as she rested the phone on the counter to her right. The tense atmosphere was returning but Yang didn't notice. Missing the tipoff she wandered just a little too close to Blake's personal space.

"Hey Weiss, what does Je veux avoir le sexe sauvage avec vous really mean—"

What happened next no one really saw coming, but should have. Blake raised her hand and with quickness akin to a viper and slapped Yang across her face. A sharp gasp escaped Ruby's mouth as Yang staggered on her feet, clearly not expecting this reaction. Poor Yang had the audacity to ask why Blake hit her and again Blake slapped her other cheek, sending the blond staggering against the counter.

Jaune jumped to Yang's rescue and placed the furious Faunus in a hold to keep her from unleashing her fury on the other woman while Yang jumped right in Weiss' face demanding what she did. Weiss claimed innocence as she boldly reprimanded that Yang should know better and honestly attempt to keep her perversions to herself.

That led them to the current situation at hand.

"In what world did you think it was a good idea to tell a woman you want to have wild sex with her?!" Weiss chortled. Ruby buried her head in her hands. "And you thought you could embarrass me by putting it in German? What kind of prank is that you blond bimbo?!" Ruby groaned, calling for Weiss' attention. It was ignored in favor of Yang's ranting.

"Why the hell would I even ask something like that?! I know I'm forward but believe it or not, I have some decorum."

"Well you were clearly thinking it!"

"No I wasn't", Yang yelled, "I'm telling you I didn't put that in there—"

"I did." All eyes turned to Ruby. "It was an accident. I was just playing around with it in the store and at first I was just checking out all the other stuff, but then I got to wondering why you liked that app so much and it started out innocent and then—"

"Wait", Weiss interrupted, sparing them from the rambling, "So this is your doing? You were just playing around?"

Ruby looked to Yang then back at Weiss. "Yeah…You see, I kinda heard the phrase before and I was curious as to what it meant…"

A pregnant silence settled between the three of them before Yang spoke up.

"I'm going home."

And with that Yang turned towards the door, careful to give Blake a wide berth. While considerably calmer the Faunus still appeared very irate. Just as Yang walked out the door Ruby allowed her head to drop on the table. Another long period of silence passed before everyone decided to return to their schedule, minus Blake. Still frustrated and embarrassed she walked out, presumably back to her living arrangements or out into the city to clear her head.

"Well I don't think I'm going to be stopping by your apartment tonight", Weiss sighed. "Knowing how temperamental your sister can be she probably plans to break my face in with her fist… And here I hoped I wouldn't need to keep a weapon like Myrtenaster on my person."

Ruby weakly chuckled at the idea of Weiss trying to fend off her older sister with her prized fencing sword. "No way would you be able to fend off my sister with that toothpick…Sin ánimo de offender (No offense). She's probably venting her frustrations into our walls." Again Ruby chuckled. She vividly remembered the last time Yang was angry and was confined to her living space.

Weiss remembered it well too, for she hummed in agreement adding, "Your landlord threatened Yang for the last incident." However, a thought soon occurred to her that made the young heiress pause. "Wouldn't he be extremely upset if Yang punched another hole in his walls?"

Recalling the threat the old man made Ruby bolted from her seat and out the restaurant, backpack in hand as she hollered Yang's name down the block like a Siren. She was screwed.
