Shadow of the Jedi
Chapter 4: The Calm Before The Storm
Nico was standing in some kind of desert, Miles and miles of sand all over the place. He looked around for a few minutes and sighed in frustration, 'Great, another one of those stupid dreams.'
"Ghost King…"
Nico whipped around, only to see three old ladies sitting in rocking chairs in the shade of a maple tree. 'That was not there before and neither were they,' Nico thought to himself cautiously. the three old ladies were knitting the biggest pair of socks he had ever seen.
The lady on the right knitted one of them. The lady on the left knitted the other. The lady in the middle held an enormous basket of black and white yarn.
All three women looked ancient, with pale faces wrinkled like Master Yoda, silver hair tied back in white bandannas, bony arms sticking out of bleached cotton dresses.
On first sight Nico would have thought of them being as dangerous as the yarn that they were knitting. But looking into their eyes Nico could see wisdom and power, more than even Master Yoda.
"You're fate has been decided…" The old lady on the right rasped out.
"…No matter what," the old lady on the left rasped. "You're prophecy will come true,
Enemies of old will aid enemies of today,
Neither light nor darkness only grey can be decided,
The army of one will betray all that is light,
And Seven old Heroes will answer the plight,
The Fate of a Galaxy will be changed,
And it rests in the hands of the sibling of Revenge."
"Be prepared Ghost King." The on in the middle stated, before everything started to go all fuzzy...

Nico woke up in a cold sweat. What in the name of Hades was that? Nico thought to himself as he looked around his quarters, Enemies of old? Sibling Of Revenge? Nico groaned in frustration, Why does my life have to be so frustratingly cryptic?
Right now Nico was in his assigned quarters on the Resolute. After he had woken up in the Temple infirmary he was told that he had to help Skywalker and Ahsoka clear the Separatist blockade on Ryloth, and to say he was excited would be an understatement. The Jedi trusted him enough to send him off on his first assignment, oh, he could have shouted in glee.
After Nico had gotten dressed into his black (surprise surprise) Jedi robes and clipped his lightsaber to his belt, he decided to head towards the hanger to modify his Jedi Starfighter.
As he was going around the corner Nico walked into someone, and they both fell to the ground with an 'oomph', Nico was back on his feet in an instant, offering his hand to the person he had walked into.
"Sorry, I wasn't watching where I wa-Ahsoka?" Nico interrupted himself, as he raised an eyebrow at the teenage Togruta. Ahsoka rolled her eyes and accepted the offered hand.
"Yeah, I was just looking for you. Skyguy wants us both on the bridge for the briefing." She said. Nico just nodded and started walking to the bridge with Ahsoka while asking random questions like 'Have you ever seen Windu smile?'

Ahsoka and Nico reached the bridge which had Admiral Yularen (Still looking at Nico with distrust) and Skywalker, with the holograms of Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Once everyone was standing around the holo table, Windu and Obi-Wan began explaining the plan. Anakin was to command the fleet from his flagship the Resolute to attack the enemy fleet over Ryloth, and hopefully break through their defences.
"Tano, you will be the one to lead Blue Squadron to attack the fleet, and Di Angelo, you will be flying under her command." Windu said.
"I'm ready Master!" Ahsoka stated enthusiastically, though if you looked closely into her eyes you could tell that she was nervous to be leading her first fighter squadron.
As for Nico, he was slightly miffed about the fact that he's going to have to follow the orders of a Padawan when he barely followed the orders of the Dark Lord of the Sith, but decided not to object, not wanting to be the main focus point of Ahsoka's glare right now.
Anakin, noticing Nico's miffed expression, smirked slightly. He's made it his goal to try and make Nico's discomfort the most amusing thing possible.
"Very well, go and prepare for battle, we will be coming out of hyperspace in six hours (Sorry I don't know the star wars equivalent of time)." Skywalker ordered. The two teens bowed and left.

Nico was in the hanger bay making some upgrades to his black and grey Jedi Starfighter, with the help of his new black and grey astromech droid R5-G9. It took Nico a while to learn how to fly the Jedi Starfighter, but eventually found out how the controls and buttons work.
"R5 how's it looking?" Nico said from underneath his ship. He heard R5 responding with a bunch of beeps, which Nico took for 'It looks good'. Nico was finishing up putting some upgrades onto his ship when he heard footsteps coming towards him. He looked to his right and recognised that the brown boots belong to only one person. Nico slid from underneath his ship and was greeted by the smirking face of Ahsoka.
"By the Force, we better not have another mechanic on our hands," Ahsoka said under her breath while shaking her head, thinking about her Master.
Nico just raised an eyebrow, "When did you get here?" He asked as he got up and cleaned his hands with a towel.
"About five minutes ago." Ahsoka responded, then she grew an irritated expression on her face, 'Oh great, What'd I do to piss the princess off?' Nico asked himself. "Where were you? As soon as we left the bridge you basically disappeared, I was talking to thin air for nearly an entire minute before one of the clones asked me who I was talking to. I swear he looked like he was ready to take me to the medical centre." Ahsoka said, with a full on glare now, Nico inwardly winced as alarm bells started ringing in his head, Alert. Alert. Female glaring. Change the subject. RIGHT NOW!
"I was upgrading my fighter to try and make it more faster and agile. What about you, excited?" Nico asked, hoping she would drop the subject, the glaring stopped and he was met with an enthusiastic grin.
"Definitely, it's the first time I'm going to be leading a fighter squadron," After she said that her smile faltered slightly, and she started biting her lip nervously, which Nico picked up on.
"Are you nervous?" Nico asked curiously, Ahsoka rolled her eyes in exasperation.
"Why do people keep asking me that? No, I'm not." But Nico could see right through her.
"You know, when I was with the Separatists, and I had to lead my first battle, I was probably just as nervous as you are right now." Nico stated, and it was true, even though he had terrifying looking armour and he didn't have to worry about the loss of life because he was leading droids into battle, it didn't change the fact that he is a teenage boy, and he wanted to impress his 'Master', before he realised he doesn't have to impress him, and started to do stuff that he wanted.
Ahsoka's face went from exasperation to curious straight away, "Really? You?" She asked incredulously, from what she knew about Nico when he was Lord Reaper was that he was honourable, confidant and arrogant, she can't exactly imagine Nico being nervous.
"Yeah," Nico nodded, "nerves provide me with energy. They work for me. It's when I don't have them, when I feel at ease, that I get worried. " Nico said, this was also true, ever since he could remember he feel's nervous all the time, never at ease, he's too strung up on events of the war to feel like that, whenever he tries to meditate he just ends up thinking about what could happen if he does something stupid in one of his strategies.
"How does that work?" Ahsoka asked with a confused expression.
"I don't know, I'm just used to it, you know leading a giant droid army that cost millions of credits kind of does make you at least slightly nervous," Nico said with an amused smirk, but then became serious. "But I don't think the 'converting you're nervousness into energy' thing will work for you. Just relax Ahsoka, I'm sure you'll do fine, you're a great leader when it comes to leading the army, I'm sure you'll do great leading a squadron of fighters."
Ahsoka blushed at the praise of The Ghost King, "Thanks Nico, I just hope that I don't do anything wrong," Ahsoka said, as she gave Nico a small smile who returned it with a smile of his own.
"Well now that we got that out of the way, I'm going to find Slammer, word has it that he's the Clone to go to if you want upgrades for your ship." Nico said as he grabbed his towel and headed off down to the next hanger.
"Nico, you know there is such a thing as too much upgrading!" Ahsoka yelled as he walked off.
"Yeah well for me, there is no such thing, as too much of anything!" Nico yelled back.
Ahsoka shook her and smiled in amusement. She looked back at Nico's Starfighter and rolled her eyes, 'Of course it's black.' She then had a look inside the cockpit. She had to admit the ship's control panels looked much more advanced compared to her Starfighter's one, and the handle looked different as well. Instead of one handle there were two on both sides. 'They look like podracer controls.' She decided to get inside and try out the seat. The seat was soft and warm and the headrest felt good as well. She looked around and had to admit about what Nico said, 'there is no such thing, as too much of anything.' Ahsoka laid back and decided to close her eyes for a second. 'Well he did tell me to relax.'

Just as Ahsoka fell to sleep, a certain Ghost King came back to his ship, once he reached his ship, upgrades in hand, he stopped dead in his tracks and looked at Ahsoka with a blank face he blinked once, then twice.
"Umm…" Nico looked around, noticing that there were quite a few Clone engineers in the hanger and some of them were looking at him with smirks on their faces, to which he rolled his eyes at.
Nico looked back at Ahsoka and couldn't help but notice how peaceful she looked. Only then did he notice that he started smiling slightly, and he immediately stopped. 'What in the name of the Force is wrong with you Di Angelo?' Nico mentally berated himself. 'Ever since I told her my name she has been getting to me more and more, I've even been acting differently, more open.'
Nico sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, 'Damn it, what kind of disease have I caught?'
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I know, I know, I've been a terrible author, keeping you all waiting for the next chapter, but the thing is I had to do my mock exams, I'm pretty sure some of you can understand.
As for this chapter, it isn't really a proper chapter more like a filler full of fluff, humour and crap like that, but it is also very important as you can see with the Fates and the prophecy at the start of it. Also what did you think of the prophecy? Was it cryptic enough? Was it unique enough?
And as for the next chapter, the space battle is coming up...Damn I'm really crap at writing space battles so you'll have to bear with me when it comes to the next chapter, I'm going to make Nico hate flying so I don't have to do as much space battles.
Now I'm going to clear some stuff up, first of all thank you for all the support you gave me when it came to my girlfriend. Second of all, yes I did punch the idiot doctor in the face (And it bloody hurt my knuckle). Third of all, no I did not kill him. And fourth of all, yes the doctor no longer works at the hospital. (He confronted me in the parking lot...I'm going to let you use you're imagination on how that turned out).
Now onto the reviews, and might I say, there are quite a lot of reviews, you have made me very happy indeed.

I have put you're idea of a reunion into consideration, and you're basically the reason on why I made the prophecy. You may be a little late, but to me, everyone's opinion matters.

I still can't believe people haven't star wars and PJO crossovers yet, I know that there are some, but if I'm honest they are kind of rubbish and make no sense what so ever. and I'm going to be frank with you, it made me laugh outright when you spelled the word Tartarus as Tardus, The one thought going on in my head was 'I think we're talking about a completely different doctor.'
