Winter vacation! Merry Late Christmas And Late Happy New Years! It's been over four months and I feel so bad but I've got some excuses. Is laziness valid? But I've had projects, essays, and reports but mostly, I lost my notebook that had all my ideas in it. It was in my locker before gym, I forgot to lock it and it was gone when I came back. The teachers only said "Your stuff is your responsibility. You are old enough to realize your own responsibilities." Sigh. This is all I typed up before I lost it and also what I improvised.
"But if she is a demon and you have purification powers, why didn't she turn to ash like Lucy said?"
Kagome looked down to the bow in her lap. "I don't know. Maybe demons evolved in the last couple hundred years." Lucy added to her explanation as everyone gathered around. "The books also stated that demons existed over a hundred years ago and they were slowly wiped out and dragons became more focused on by the people. It also said that dragon slayers often mistaken them for dragons and they became extinct." Erza who was thinking with her hand on her chin.
"If demons are extinct, but she is here, then there is a possibility of even more demons that managed to survive." This single line put everyone on edge. "Erza, are you saying that there is more?" Lucy asked incredulously before looking down at Kagome who had her head in her hands. "I don't know. I don't think I know anything anymore." Mew. She looked up. Kirara jumped out of Gray's lap and ran over to Kagome's side, rubbing against her leg and purring. Kirara had crawled into Gray's lap until he subconsciously started to stroke her fur. Kagome picked her up but Kirara jumped out and made the 'follow me' movement.
Kirara led the group through many broken walls when she suddenly stopped and pressed one of her back legs on a stone that sunk into the floor because of the applied pressure. A thunk, a gasp, and a loud creak later, a wall opened from next to them revealing a hidden room. Curious, they all obviously entered. All except for Natsu. "Wow. Look at this room!" And so on until a "Natsu." Erza's stern voice had stopped him in his tracks. "She can be kind of scary." Kagome whispered.
"She can be even more scary if she's mad." Lucy whispered back. "When she's mad, she becomes a monster that can destroy a mountain in a kick." Gray had added, arms folded, nodding his head, They finally arrived at the end of a hallway. It had led to a large circle room made of stone. "Woah." They whispered. Lucy's eyes gleaming and wide. Inspired.
At the center of the room, a pedestal bathed in the moonlight that shown through a whole in the ceiling. They walked closer. On that pedestal held one thing, a long string of prayer beads. Kagome saw it, gasped and reached for it. In her hands, a long string of large beads all similar in size, covered in dust. Something occurred to Lucy. "Do you think these are the beads Kagura was talking about?"
Erza crossed her arms and turned her head to the side, "It might be but why was she trying to get it while suspecting we wanted it?"
Kagome cut in, her staring down at her hands that stayed cupped holding the beads. "These aren't ordinary beads, they're magic."
"But there is magic all over Fiore. Almost everything is magical." Natsu, serious, suddenly appearing and peeking over Kagome's shoulder to look into her hands. His arms propped on his hips.
"You have a point, you loud mouthed bastard. But maybe there is a soul trapped inside it. Or life energy." Gray doing the same thing as Natsu, peeking over her other shoulder.
"But what would she do with these? I don't think relics are used for spells anymore." Lucy wondered.
"Maybe it was for her guild." Erza muttered to herself. "What?" Everyone looked at Erza, eyes wide and blinking. Maybe it's the dust? "Earlier in her escape, I saw a guild tattoo on her back. It's a small but powerful dark guild that specializes in dark magic and treasure."
Kagome places down the beads. "Wait! Hold on, you think Kagura, the one who has been attacking us, did that to take a bunch of beads for a guild?" Erza nods.
Lucy crosses her arms under he chest. "I guess it does make sense. There aren't that many relics anymore and they still give an enormous boost of power." Her eyes narrowed, "Depending on the amount of energy left behind by its previous user. As in the more it was used, the stronger it would boost."
Natsu's and Gray's eyes pop out like bugs. "You mean using old used stuff can make us stronger?" Natsu shouted. "..." Was the reply. "... I guess so?" Kagome answered looking back at the other girls who shrugged. "Then let's find more!" Gray suggested and ran off into one of the dark hidden tunnels.
Kagome looked back again with a face that asked, "Are they usually like this?" Not long after, the boys came back, tired. "Nothing." Natsu muttered laying down on is chest. "We couldn't find anything." Gray continued. He was laying on his back. "...Umm, Gray, your clothes."
bluepheonixflame98: Thanks
KaeterinaRomanov: I haven't came up with a name yet so I would probably make one up by the next chapter or you can help come up with one. I will probably have Kagome use swords I'm going to borrow or menti: on from other series, mostly Bleach. Kagura didn't die probably because demons changed over the 500 years so they're bound to get stronger. Thanks for reviewing
unicornmeat3: Thanks for the compliment! I really dislike Naraku so I definitely won't bring him back but I'll slowly start bringing back some characters from Inuyasha.
animecutylover: I'm so happy you're always so consistent with reviewing and always being so encouraging!
Guest: I'm so glad you like this story so much! Sorry it took so long
jujubug712: Thanks for the compliment!
Guest: I know and I'm sorry about that. I won't give any excuses but I'm just lazy and take a while to come up with ideas.
Nameless Angel 00: Kagura most likely became stronger through the years. I remember Sesshoumaru was once hit with one of Kagome's arrows and he was kinda fine because he was strong
