"Hello." I said. Edward came up behind me and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Carmen. Eleazar. This is my mate Bella." He said. Carmen stepped forward and hugged me.
"It is so nice to finally meet you." She said as I hugged her back and glanced at Eleazar who was looking at me curiously. I stepped back and looked at Edward.
"Bella. Eleazar is amazed at you as it seems you are a special vampire." He said. I looked at him incredulously.
"I better let Eleazar explain." He said and I looked towards Eleazar.
"Well, Bella it seems you are a rare case in the vampire world. You have not one but four almost five talents. You are a mental and a physical shield, you can tell if someone is lying …" he paused to see how I was doing. When he saw no confusion on my face he continued.
"You can also get pregnant, as you may already know. There are very few vampires who can get pregnant. The pregnancy is a normal pregnancy except you show earlier and takes about half the time so you will only be pregnant for about 18 to twenty weeks. Also, you will not be able to see the baby with any equipment so make sure to use your sense to see if there is anything wrong. The delivery should be a normal delivery." He finished explaining. Looking at Edward I saw he was as dumbstruck as I felt.
"Anything else?" He asked us. Silence.
"Well, we should probably get going. Please feel free to call if you have any more questions." He said. Carmen and Eleazar hugged everyone that had come into the room while we were talking and left. After they left we all stood there like statues for a few minutes.
"Alright. Emmett, you need to be nice to Bella for the next few months." Edward said.
"Why?" He asked. Rosalie hit him over the head.
"Because she's pregnant and emotionally vulnerable." She told him. Emmett nodded. Alice came bouncing up to me.
"Bella, Esme and I need to grow grocery shopping to keep up appearances. Do you want to come with us?" She asked me.
"Sure." I said
"Awesome. We are going to leave in about an hour." She told me. I nodded and went to sit with Edward who had moved to the couch.
"I wonder what this baby is going to be like. Will it be immortal?" He said. I laid my head on his shoulder.
"Most likely. I mean we are both immortal. What I want to know is will it age?" I said. He hummed in agreement.
"Maybe. While you are out I will call Eleazar and ask him a few more questions." He said. I nodded in agreement. We sat in silence for a few moments, just enjoying being with each other. All too soon our moment was interrupted by an over-energetic pixie.
"Come on, Bella. Let's go. While we are out we are going to get some maternity clothes for you." She said. Knowing better than to protest I nodded my head before standing up to leave. Edward stood up with me and gave me a chaste kiss on the lips.
"I'll see you when you get back. I love you." He said.
"I love you too." I said as I ran out to meet Esme and Alice in the car.
