Hi, everyone! This is another chapter of Spirit's Light! Sorry for the long hiatus, it just popped up. I will do my best to bring in more chapters!
Disclaimer: I do not own any Yu Yu Hakusho characters or the franchise. They are the copyright of Yoshihiro Togashi. The only thing I own is Miyuki Urameshi and the other original characters, and the story plot.
Summary: Every decade or so, a Shikigami maiden is born. This maiden would have her gift activated when she saves a life of an innocent where the situation would make it where she could lose her life. Her powers would be great, as it would evolve as what most would say "Magic" when it is really very high spirit energy. Yet, she is sought after by demons everywhere, for the woman's abilities is able to empower a low-class demon, to a very high level. Yet, in order for that to happen, the shikigami maiden must be mated, or her soul devoured. The Maiden would be able to protect herself, though, but in most of their lives, they die from being hunted or forced into a matehood, where they kill themselves. Now it seems that the Shikigami is born once again, as Miyuki Urameshi. The little sister of Yusuke Urameshi.
Yusuke never told anyone, besides Keiko, of his sister, because Miyuki was slowly dying of a terminal illness. He did not want her involved with the situation of the spirit world and Makai. Now it seems his acts will all be in vain if Miyuki ever activates her abilities. If that were to be the case, would Yusuke be able to protect his sister, along with his friends, or shall she die within the fate of every Shikigami Maiden?
Chapter Six: Miracle
Miyuki was a bit nervous and scared. Well, who wouldn't? After saving a life of a child, due to a ghost asking for help, one would have felt accomplished or proud of what they had done to save the little girl. Instead, Miyuki was feeling some dread. Miyuki had no idea how she was going to explain this one to Yusuke or the others when they find out what she had done. This was the first time she had ever gotten caught.
Yes, there were times Miyuki would sneak out of the hospital; so that she could help some spirits pass on. They were small tasks, like returning someone's trinket, or leaving a message that it was not a person's fault that they died. This was one of the major things she had ever done for a spirit, and now here she was, getting checked on by Okinawa, her doctor, for any burns or breathing irregularity.
Miyuki fidgeted a bit, as Okinawa had finished the check-up, and had written something onto the clip board. The man looked at her, as he finished writing. "You're very lucky. You didn't suffer any burns or any smoke inhalation. Same with Chizu-san" he said as if he knew that she was about to ask how Chizu was. This made Miyuki let out a sigh of relief. Miyuki had done her best to make sure Chizu hadn't breathed any of the toxic fumes, so to hear that Chizu hadn't suffered any of that made her relieved.
"However… The bruises on your neck will be there for a while. It'll fade away. Can you speak alright?"
Miyuki nodded her head yes. "Yes. It feels a little sore, though."
"Try to rest your voice, dear. We don't want to you to cough and damaging your throat or vocal cords,"
"Y-Yes, sir,"
The doctor than ruffled her hair. "I am surprised you snuck out. You know about your condition. However, if you hadn't, there would have been a tragic end. We're all proud of you. We'll get your blood tested to make sure you're stable. I called your mother. She'll be coming in tomorrow. Just get some rest, Miyuki-chan." the doctor said before he closed the door.
Miyuki lied down on her bed and stared at the ceiling. Her brother and mother were going to come visit her tomorrow. She knew that she would be scolded for sneaking out. Yet, she felt proud of herself. Miyuki had saved Chizu's life and that was all that mattered. Not only that, Hoshimaru was able to move on and go to the after-life. Miyuki closed her eyes, feeling a little tired.
Yet, she couldn't sleep after all the excitement. She lied there, staring at the window, as Saya appeared next to her. "Oh, Miyuki…" Saya whispered. The ghost sat down on the bedside, and stroked her hair in a soothing fashion, and began to hum a gentle song. Miyuki listened to the soft melody and began to hum along. It was then sleep overcame Miyuki, as the small girl closed her eyes and fell fast asleep. Saya continued to hum the melody, and she could hear it in her sleep.
Miyuki opened her eyes and looked around. She wasn't in her hospital room. Instead, she was standing in a middle of a forest. It was dark, and the only light was from the full moon. She looked around her scenery. The trees were surrounding her, and they were very tall and full of green leaves. Miyuki then noticed a dirt path that was in front of her. She stared before she walked in the path. As she kept walking, Miyuki could see the trees were starting to lessen as she took each step.
Before she knew it, she was standing in a field full of white flowers that glowed in the moonlight. Her eyes went wide with amazement, but she noticed someone was standing in the distance. The woman's back was facing her, but Miyuki could see her black hair was long and silky, like a flowing waterfall. She wore a beautiful kimono that was pure white, with many cherry blossom petals printed upon it. Miyuki blinked twice and took a step toward the woman. "U-Um… excuse me… who are you?" Miyuki asked.
"… A distant memory…" The woman responded.
"Distant memory?"
"Yes." The woman then slowly turned, and the girl's eyes went wide, seeing the woman had such bright blue eyes. It was rare for someone of Japanese to have them. Unless they were of the ancients back when. Like the Ainu natives. The woman had a lovely face and soft lips. She seemed to be also curves that can be seen from the way her kimono had fitted her. The woman then smiled at Miyuki and held out her hand "Will you sing and dance with me?" she asked suddenly.
Miyuki was a bit startled by such a question, but she nodded her head and walked over to the woman. The woman smiled as she handed Miyuki a fan. Somehow, Miyuki was able to follow the woman's footsteps, as they both opened their fans, and stretched out their arms. "I stand in a field of flowers, hoping for a miracle." They both sang while spinning around together, as they held their fans close, before stretching out their arms once more "I pray to god for a miracle to come."
As they both waved their hands, the flowers around them began to blossom fully, as few petals began to fly around them, and sparkles of light were surrounding the two of them. "If you allow it, please let it come. Please let a miracle happen. Ah~" the two sang, as they waved their fans around. When they stopped, Miyuki felt herself getting stronger. She looked around at field of flowers and was amazed by its beauty.
"You are of pure-heart, Miyuki-san. You will feel a lot better after this." The woman said with a smile on her face.
"I will…? Oh! Forgive me, but what's your name?"
The woman looked surprised before she smiled softly. "Izumi" she answered in a soft tone.
"It's nice to meet you, Izumi-san!" Miyuki chirped.
"You too… It's time to wake up now, Miyuki-san…"
"Miyuki? Miyuki, sweetie, wake up" a voice said.
The small girl began to stir out of her slumber. Her eyes fluttered open, as she sat up, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She noticed Yusuke there, along with Keiko, Botan, Shuichi, Hiei, Kuwabara, Yukina, Shizuru, Hiromi and Mikoto. Then, there was someone who was sitting on her bed. At first, she thought it was Saya, but she blinked a couple of times, becoming fully awake. Her eyes went wide, as she stared at the person on the bed "…. M… Mama?" She asked.
Her mother smiled before her mother started to cry. Suddenly, Miyuki was hugged tightly by her mother. "Miyuki! Don't ever scare me like that again! I don't want to lose you, but I'm also so proud of you, too!" her mother cried.
Miyuki sat there in her mother's embrace, as tears were streaming down her face. She hugged her mother just as tightly. "Mama, I missed you so much!" Miyuki whispered. Yusuke walked over and joined in the embrace, as he hugged them, just having his cheesy grin on his face. Miyuki felt so happy. The three of them were back together. As a family. Miyuki missed her mother so much. In the corner of her eyes, she noticed Saya standing there, smiling softly at this, before phasing out of the wall so that no one would see her.
The three soon stopped hugging each other, but Atsuko held onto Miyuki, as everyone was making sure the small girl was alright. When she got the phone call last night, Atsuko feared the worst. She feared she lost her little girl. Instead, she was told she snuck out, and saved a life of a child. Atsuko couldn't help but smile. Yusuke saved a life of a little boy, and Miyuki saved a life of a baby girl. She couldn't be more proud of her children. While she made mistakes in her life, her kids were the best thing she ever had. Besides one being a trouble-maker, and the other needing to stay in the hospital, Atsuko wouldn't trade them for anything for the world. They were the most important ones in her life.
Miyuki was sipping tea that Yukina had brought. It soothed her sore throat. "T-Thank you for the tea, Yukina-san," Miyuki said.
Yukina smiled and nodded her head "It's no trouble."
"Geez, Miyu. If you wanted to break out that badly, you could have called us. We would have busted you out." Makoto joked.
Hiromi looked at Miyuki with worry. "Does your neck hurt?" she asked.
Miyuki blinked twice. Were the bruises that bad? It was obvious someone with big hands had tried to strangle Miyuki to death, as the bruises was a dark purple and blue. She reached to touch them and winced a little. "It doesn't hurt as bad…." She said.
Shuichi walked over and looked at the bruises with a frown on his face. "Has your doctor given you any salve for it?" he asked.
She shook her head. Shuichi suddenly went through his bag and pulled a small container and handed it to her. "Just apply it every night. It'll help with the bruises"
"Ah! T-Thank you!"
"It's no trouble," Shuichi said. Though, Yusuke wasn't too happy. If the bastard wasn't in jail, Yusuke would have gone and beaten the living shit out of him. He hurt his little sister. Just seeing those bruises made Yusuke realize how frail Miyuki was.
Miyuki noticed Yusuke and looked a bit worried. "Yusuke, are you okay?"
"… Yeah. Just wish the guy wasn't in jail so we could beat him up," Yusuke answered honestly, ruffling her hair.
"Any guy who does this to a girl is a low-life!" Kuwabara exclaimed angrily. Kuwabara was a chivalrous guy and was protective of Yukina. Miyuki could understand why he was angry about what happened. Hiei also seemed angry about it too, even though he didn't say much about it. Miyako had managed to catch him looking at the bruises for a split-second, then looked away like nothing happened.
Keiko was sitting next to her. She hugged her along with Atsuko. She couldn't scold Miyuki for saving a life but wished that she didn't have those nasty bruises. She was also wondering about the test results as well.
"So… how cute was the little girl?" Shizuru asked, trying to change the atmosphere in the air.
Miyuki smiled at this question. "Chizu-chan is adorable! She can talk well for her age, and she calls me Miyu. She also wears pig-tails too!"
"Aw! That does sound adorable!" Hiromi chirped.
Just as they were talking about Chizu, there was a knock on the door. Miyuki blinked twice. "C-Come in!" she said.
The door opened, revealing Misao and Chizu. "Miyu! Miyu!" the toddler called out, stretching her arms to Miyuki while toddling her way over to the bed. The small girl giggled as she carefully picked the little girl up from the ground, after getting out of bed. She sat down, holding the little girl in her arms.
Misao spotted her mom and walked over. "You're Miyuki-san's mother? I… I want to thank you. I'm sorry she got hurt…" Misao said as she had noticed the bruise marks on Miyuki's neck.
"It's alright. You worry too much. I'm not mad or anything, if you're worried about that," Her mother answered with a cheesy grin and waved her hand around to let Misao know that there was no trouble.
Chizu noticed the bruises as well. "Miyu has boo-boo?"
"Oh… Yes, I have a boo-boo. Don't worry, the boo-boo doesn't hurt." Miyuki answered, reassuring the little girl she was fine.
Suddenly, Chizu had gently patted her neck. "Go away, Boo-Boos," the small child ordered, giving the bruises a frown, as she pouted. Everyone in the room stared at her. They all thought one thing. Cute. Hiei simply didn't pay any mind.
"Yeah. You tell them, kid." Yusuke said, encouraging the little girl, as Chizu continued patting Miyuki's neck, telling the bruises to go away more
"Aw! She is very precious!" Botan cooed, as all the girls went over to Miyuki and were complimenting Chizu. Botan was relieved, though. Chizu was marked to die last night, but due to Miyuki, she got her life extended to a full and happy one. The boys watched the girls. Miyuki made sure Chizu was comfortable, as the child babbled about things. Her mother and Misao were talking to each other as if they been friends for a long time.
Suddenly, Okinawa had appeared in the doorway, holding a clipboard. "Urameshi-san… Can I speak with you?" he asked.
Her mother looked a bit worried but nodded as she went out to the hallway. Yusuke ruffled Miyuki's hair, before following them out. Miyuki was worried, but she tried to keep a happy face, for Chizu's sake. The others wondered what was going on, but hoped everything was fine. Chizu just giggled and babbled on about her day. Miyuki did her best to answer the toddler, and smile. Still… what was going on that Okinawa wanted to speak with her mom? It was probably an update on her condition. Maybe it was her needing more rest?
She hoped.
P.O.V Change: Yusuke
Yusuke followed his mother out to the hallway. Something was going on with Miyuki. He knew it. There had to be a reason that Okinawa asked to see their mom privately. Yusuke wanted to know, and he knew his mother would try and hide it if it was bad. She did that before when she found out Miyuki had to stay in the hospital. Only, she didn't expect him to over-hear the phone call. He followed them to Okinawa's office, and their mom finally noticed him. "Yusuke, go back with Miyuki! I don't want her to get worried…"
"No, it's fine, Urameshi-san. It involves him, too." Okinawa assured as he offered Yusuke a seat. Yusuke liked Okinawa. Most doctors would have told him to leave. Okinawa, on the other hand, told Yusuke about Miyuki's condition growing up. He was honest, and never sugar-coated anything, despite the gentleness he had with Miyuki. In a way, Yusuke saw him as an uncle. His father-figure was Raizen. The bastard was probably watching him from wherever the hell he is now.
"Probably wondering why I never mentioned Miyuki," Yusuke thought. Yusuke imagined the demon falling over and wondering how the hell Yusuke pulled a fast one on him. Especially, when he entered his mind. Yusuke hoped there was no way Raizen would haunt his ass. Yusuke sat next to his mom, as the woman looked anxious and worried.
"Okinawa… Miyuki is okay, isn't she?"
The man adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat. "We just got her test results back… And… There is something you both need to see." He answered. Then Okinawa placed the test results on the desk, and placed the papers in front of Yusuke and Atsuko, for either one of them to take.
Yusuke tensed. He remembered those results. They showed how Miyuki's illness made her almost die each time. They could never detect what it was, but it was cancerous. When Okinawa placed the test results of her blood, he braced himself. He was expecting Okinawa to tell them that Miyuki wasn't going to make it next month or something. He saw his mom trembling, afraid to pick it up. Yusuke reached out and grabbed the paper, bracing himself for the worst.
He began to read but looked confused. He saw the test results all negative for any health issues. "Uh, Doc. This isn't Miyuki's papers. You gave us the wrong one."
"Look at the name."
Yusuke and Atsuko stared before they looked at the name. Yusuke's eyes went wide. His sister's name was on this paper. This was the blood test they took from last night. "Doc… Are you saying…?"
The man gave a smile "Yes. Miyuki's cured. We have no idea, but her illness is gone."
"Holy shit." Yusuke managed to say.
Atsuko then began to cry tears of joy, hugging Yusuke tightly. "She's coming home! Miyu's coming home! It's a miracle, Yusuke!"
"We just need to keep her for one more night, just to make sure everything is okay, and in the morning, you can take her home."
"Thanks, Doc… For putting up with us all these years…" Yusuke said after he stopped hugging his mom.
Okinawa smiled and nodded his head. "It's no problem. I'm just happy that Miyuki will finally be able to go home. Now, we should tell her the good news,"
Both Yusuke and Atsuko nodded, as they left the doctor's office, and headed back to Miyuki's room.
P.O.V Change: Miyuki
Chizu and Miyuki were playing a little game of hide and seek, as the girls were pretending to have a hard time finding the small child. Shuichi watched with amusement, as Hiei looked disinterested. Kuwabara played along too, saying he had no idea where Chizu would be hiding. Misao giggled at the sight. Miyuki made sure the blanket was over both her and Chizu, as Miyuki could hear them running about.
"Man. Those two are really good at hiding!" Hiromi stated. Chizu giggled but tried to muffle it the best as she could.
Suddenly, the blankets were taken off Miyuki and Chizu. "Found you~!" Botan cheered.
"Ah, it seems you did," Miyuki said, as Chizu was giggling the entire time, clapping her hands. That was when Yusuke and her mother returned. Miyuki noticed right away her mother had been crying. This made the small girl look at her mother with worry. Especially after speaking with the doctor.
Keiko had noticed this too. "Yusuke? Atsuko-san? Is everything okay?"
"Yes, everything is fine." Her mother said, before walking over to Miyuki, sitting next to her, and held her hands. "Miyuki. I need to tell you something important,"
Miyuki nodded her head. "W-What is it?" she asked with concern. Miyuki remembered her mother being this serious when she was first diagnosed with her illness. Her heart dropped. Was she… going to die?
"Tomorrow, you'll be coming home. I need to know what color you would like your room to be painted,"
"Eh? I like the color gree- Wait, what?" Miyuki stopped to ask. Did she hear her mother correctly? Was she going home?
Hiromi covered her mouth in shock, as tears were forming in her eyes, as Makoto stood there, processing. "Atsuko-san… a-are you saying… Miyuki is better?" Makoto asked.
"Yep! She's one-hundred percent cured!" Yusuke exclaimed with joy. Keiko began to tear up as well before both she and Hiromi rushed over to hug Miyuki tightly. Botan couldn't help but rush over and hug Miyuki as well.
Makoto gave a grin. "We're going to have to throw you a welcome home party, kid!"
"I can make some snacks, and maybe tea," Yukina volunteered.
"Oooh! I should go get some decorations, too! You like sparkles, right? Yep! I'm getting so many sparkles and glitter!" Hiromi chirped, clapping her hands.
Shuichi couldn't help but smile at this. "Maybe I can ask my mother to make something for this occasion," he said. Hiei simply leaned against the wall.
"Miyu better! Miyu better!" Chizu cheered happily. Misao was crying tears of joy, happy that the girl who saved her daughter's life could come home to her family, and live a happy life. Miyuki giggled and hugged the toddler in return. Miyuki felt lighter. She was surrounded by so much love from everyone. She couldn't help but smile.
Miyuki then realized something. "Mama, would I be able to attend school now?" she asked.
"Ack! Miyuki! Don't think about that right now! Forget school, and just enjoy getting out of this place!" Yusuke exclaimed.
Keiki gave her boyfriend a glare, "Yusuke, you're not telling her to forget about her education, are you?" she hissed. Everyone couldn't help but laugh as Yusuke was trying to tell Keiko to calm down, only to get her to yell at him more. Miyuki was giggling and noticed she wasn't having trouble breathing. It was something she would get used to. Not having to worry about being careful or feeling pain from simply breathing.
"Aaanyway. I think you'll be in the same school as us. After all, Sarayashiki is the best school around!" Hiromi proudly proclaimed.
"Hell yeah!" Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Makoto agreed.
"I believe Meiou high school is the best," Shuichi argued, smiling.
"Hey! High schools don't count!" Hiromi shouted with a pout on her face.
Miyuki simply smiled before looking a little nervous. "Will… everyone be nice there?" she asked with worry. Miyuki knew there were some girls and boys who were downright cruel. She had spoken with spirits who had committed suicide due to bullying. Miyuki was nervous about this. Especially since she spent her whole life in the hospital, Hiromi and Makoto were the only ones she would know in the school.
Yusuke ruffled her hair, "Yeah, they'll be nice. If not, let me know, and I'll stop by for a visit"
"Oi! Just cause you're the legendary Yusuke Urameshi, don't mean I can't handle them. I'm going to take your title soon," Makoto argued.
"Oh? How about I teach you a few things, then. You are going to protect Miyuki there,"
"Really? Huh, alright. After kendo club, you can show me some moves."
"Hey! Don't forget me! I wanna protect Miyu-chan too!" Hiromi interrupted, as the blonde was pouting again.
Botan leaned in and whispered to Miyuki, "You have such great friends. I think you'll be fine,"
"Yes, I think so too," Miyuki whispered back.
Visiting hours had ended. Everyone had to say good-bye and get everything ready for tomorrow. Miyuki smiled and waved good-bye to everyone. Okinawa had entered the room to let Miyuki know to take everything easy, and that she would have monthly check-ups with him, to make sure she was doing well. Miyuki simply nodded but was happy to know Okinawa would be her doctor, even when she was better. He was like a father to her. Since her first day in the hospital, Okinawa had been with her, every step of the way.
Miyuki had never really seen her biological father. She hoped to one day. She was sure he had his reasons for not being in their lives. He does care for them. Miyuki even remembered talking to him for the first time on the phone. However, that was when she was seven-years-old. Miyuki decided to not think about it. Her thoughts wandered on every small thing, due to her excitement of going home. The lights were turned off for the night, as it was time to sleep, but Miyuki simply lied in her bed.
She couldn't help but look around the hospital room. It had always been her room, although she could never really decorate it. It was all she had ever known. She glanced out the window, seeing it was starting to snow again. She gently got out of bed and walked over to the window, and touched the glass, staring outside the entire time. This window had always been her view of the outside. Even though she had ventured outside to help spirits, she would always return here and stare at the window.
Miyuki closed her eyes. She was so excited to be going home, yet she nervous at the same time. To be able to go to school, interact with people during the day-time. To be outside because she could. It was all so exciting and scary. Suddenly, she was embraced. Opening her eyes, she turned her head to see Saya was hugging her. The ghost smiled softly at her "Congratulations on getting better,"
"Thank you, Saya!" Miyuki said, smiling back. Saya was smiling, but then her eyes looked distant, as she looked out the window seeing the snow.
"… We met like this, didn't we? When it snowed?"
Miyuki nodded as she looked out the window with her. "Uh-huh…" she answered, the memory playing in her head, of the first day she arrived at the hospital, and being placed into the room, and meeting Saya. The ghost was so surprised that Miyuki could see her. The two of them simply watched the snow fall. Just like they were now.
"… It's also when we say good-bye" Saya said suddenly.
Miyuki's eyes went wide, remembering Saya would leave when her mother would visit. The small girl whirled around, as she could see Saya starting to glow. Tears were forming in her eyes. "Saya! Don't go!" the girl cried out.
"I have to, Miyuki… I'm so sorry… but… I'm so happy. I am so happy, that I got to meet you." Saya responded back to her. The ghost flew over to Miyuki, and gently brushed a strand of hair out of her face. Miyuki stood there, as tears began to fall from her eyes. It wasn't fair. Saya had to stay with her! Yet, she couldn't do that to Saya. How long had Saya been in this world? She was about to find peace.
Miyaki hugged Saya tightly, as she was trembling. "Saya… I love you so much. I don't want you to go… b-but I know you must. You'll fade if you stay here any longer…" the girl admitted.
"Miyuki. I love you too. Please don't ever forget me…" the ghost whispered, as she too was crying. Saya then placed something over Miyuki's neck. It was a pendant that Saya always wore. Miyuki looked up and nodded her head okay.
"I won't forget you… I-I promise to remember you. A-Always!"
Saya smiled softly, "I'm so glad… I got to see you grow into a young lady. A healthy young lady. Please, live your life to the fullest"
"I-I will," Miyuki promised.
Saya stepped away from Miyuki, looking at the girl who made her happy, one last time with a smile before she vanished in a bright light. Saya was gone. She found peace in the afterlife. Miyuki stood there for a moment, seeing the light fade. She hadn't realized her hand had stretched out to grab Saya. There was a moment of silence, before she slid down onto the floor, crying. Miyuki was happy and sad. Happy her best friend could go to the afterlife after all these years, but sad because she won't be able to see her.
She stopped crying for a while and held the pendant close to her. There was no way Miyuki would forget Saya. Never. Miyuki wiped away any tears that were left before she climbed into bed. She got under the covers and looking out the window, seeing it snow. It was a calm sight. Closing her eyes, Miyuki had fallen fast asleep. Her heart hurt from Saya leaving, but she would recover in time. She would be going home tomorrow.
That was when a light appeared in the room. A small figure hovered over Miyuki, it's wings fluttering as red eyes stared at her. "So… you're here," the figure murmured. Turning out the window, the creature flew over to peek out and tensed. There were more of those demons near one of the rooftops of the building. This wasn't good. The spirit turned over to the girl, who was sound asleep and frowned. There was no way the girl would be safe on her own like this. Luckily, she was getting out of this place. It meant that the demons won't be able to get her here.
However, that didn't mean they wouldn't stop looking for her. The spirit was deep in thought. It would have to speak with its charge when the time was right. After all, the Shikigami maiden needed time to get used to her new surroundings and adjust to everything. Introducing itself and explaining to the girl about her duty would just put too much stress on her. Plus, it would cause so much confusion to the girl, that she might do something foolish and get herself killed. Not that she was stupid. Far from it, the spirit had been impressed with the girl. From what the spirits told her, the girl had been very careful from sneaking out of this place and helping many spirits.
This was already proved the girl would handle her responsibilities as a Shikigami maiden. With enough training, this girl would be able to defy the fate the befell many of the other maidens. At least, that is what the spirit hopes. Add in the spirit detective and his team, her chances of surviving would increase. Not to mention the fact they knew the once rulers of Makai was also a big help. Only the spirit had to be careful. They were still demons, and they could be interested in her.
For now, the spirit had to keep the lower demons at bay. While the girl's spirit energy hasn't increased yet, it would be only a matter of time when it does. Then she will be a shining beacon. For spirits and any other race to search for her help, but a target for those wanting her power. The spirit just had to make sure nothing would happen. Fate will be defied.
