A/N: Hello friend. I was thinking of rewriting the first two chapters but decided against it because I might change my mind in how this story will go. Anyway, thank you all for the reviews. I take note of the things that all you lovely readers say about the story. Hopefully this chapter will be sufficient and not cause anymore confusion. Also, I had a hard time matching the length of the chapters. Let me know if this chapter's length is okay, because if yes, I will try my best to maintain.

This story is set in an alternate universe. So, no appearance of magic or cards will take place.

DISCLAIMER: Card Captor Sakura is owned by Clamp. Plot is mine. Enjoy!

Stay With Me

Chapter 4

It's always busy when you see a Starbuck's, let alone a branch near the airport. Everyone seems to be minding their own business, or patiently waiting for their drink before hurrying away to catch their flight, or lounging like him. He stood out from the crowd with his long gray, silver almost, hair. He always got stared at whenever he went home. He loved Japan, but when the opportunity presented itself to be able to study in England, he said yes in a heartbeat.

He settled his arms on the table, joined his hands together and rested his chin above it as his gaze set upon Sakura. He missed her. She was very dear to him. It was her cheerfulness and optimism that draws people to her. She's the ray of sunshine that their lives needed during the time when they were younger.

Life had not been easy for Yukito and him. But that didn't stop them from pursuing what they passionately wanted, and it was all because of her and Touya.

His eyebrows raised at the thought of the older Kinomoto. He took out his phone and texted him.

Hey Touya, I'm with Sakura now. Yukito filled me in with what happened. I'm sure you already know. I'll see you soon. Let's have dinner together with Sakura. Is tomorrow okay? –Yue

He already knows that he won't be getting a reply soon if ever he was on duty. Tokyo General Hospital is known for their all around services. He also knew that Touya graduated top of his class in med school. There was always that healthy competition that he and Touya has, but it didn't get in the way of their friendship. He also graduated top of his class, but his mind is still not set on which field to specialize in which brings him back to Japan.

He wanted to make sure that what he had in mind was the right choice for him. He knew that Touya's heart lies in the Trauma department. He was the wild spirit among the three of them. Yukito was the laid back person, and he, well he was there. He couldn't help the slight frown that marred his face because he was so plain in almost every way. Sure he excelled in academics and some sports because when he sets his mind to a task, he makes sure that he gives it a hundred percent shot.

He put his phone back in his pocket and went back to looking at Sakura. She was still in line, her back was to him but there was something different in her posture. He saw her look back and smile at him, it was an automatic response that his face would light up whenever he saw her smile. Maybe that was everyone response when it came to Sakura. She raised her hand and turned her back to him again.

Years of training in the medical field will no doubt train a person's clinical eye. And right now, his instincts were telling him that something is not right. He almost made his way to Sakura when he saw her make her way in front of the barista. He saw the kid take their orders. That was a good sign, but there was still something off. Then he saw the barista waving his hand in front of her. He immediately stood up and made his way towards the counter. Damn, these people with large suitcases, he grumbled in his mind. She was holding the counter with one hand, and she seemed out of it. Her eyes were unfocused and glazed. He held her waist when he reached her. She managed to take a look at him before losing consciousness.

He sighed. His back was starting to ache given that he was slouching off of another man's porch. He knew that his presence was not welcomed in this premises but he didn't mind waiting, for he knew that whatever hope he had left of fixing his relationship with the love of his life will be left in the hands of Sakura's guardian in the absences of Touya.

He ran a hand through his hair. How did it come to this? He sighed. The sun was shining in the sky. He could hear the birds chirping. It was a good day in New York City. This was the dream country, the dream city, the dream life they used to daydream when they were still in university. He was top off his class and she was too. Even though they had different major, that didn't stop them from being faithful to each other and being respectful of each other's time.

He shouldn't be reminiscing about what was their relationship. He should be thinking about how to salvage what was left of their dream. He was an asshole. He knew it. It was majorly his fault. He thought back to when he first got so engrossed in his work. He was a highly respected accountant. And being part of a worldly renowned clan helped with his acceptance in one of the most influential firms in the big apple. He was always competitive.

Sakura was the artsy person in the relationship. They balanced each other well. He knew that having two majors was a great feat in its own for he majored both in business administration and accountancy. But Sakura was spectacular in managing time and focusing on what she wanted which made her finish her two majors with ease which is journalism and literature, in addition her minor in psychology and other extracurriculars.

She was the light of his life as well as the whole university. She was in organizations throughout the campus, she was part of the council in her department, she was part timing in an orphanage. She was perfect. His train of thought was interrupted when he saw a car pull up in front of the house. He could hear the engine still on and he could make out Yukito's silhouette in the driver's seat.

Here comes the other overprotective brother.

Two minutes passed and the engine shut off. He saw movement and before he knew it he was staring face to face with the tall man who was Sakura's first love and heartbreak. His eyes were stony and was staring right at him.

"What do you want?" Yukito said in exasperation.

"Don't you think you've done enough damage, Xiao Lang?"

He stood up. He couldn't take the intimidation of Yukito towering over him. It took what's left of his pride to not openly cower before the obviously angry man. His presence was surely not welcomed.

"I want to know where my wife is."

He wasn't sure if he heard him clearly. His voice sounded so raw to him. He heard him chuckle.

"Your wife will no longer be your wife soon."

This sparked something inside him. He was definitely not giving up on their marriage.

"No matter what you say now, she is still my wife and I deserve—"

"You deserve what you are feeling right now, and I sure hope that you are down in the dumps because from what I've heard, you are not deserving of knowing anything regarding Sakura anymore."

He knew Yukito was right. He knew he was wrong in almost all accounts. He knew that he was deserving of the hurt that he's currently feeling. But despite all his emotions, he still wanted to fix this. He was still determined.

"She is still my wife. Please, Yukito." He implored him.

"That's Tsukishiro to you, you bastard."

He winced. He settled his eyes on the pavement. This is a mistake, she must have left some clue as to where she went. His shoulders slumped involuntarily, as if his body knows it is high time to admit defeat. He almost didn't hear Yukito sigh until he heard the words he said next.

"Come in, Li."

He was stunned. If it weren't for his two hour sleep the night before he would have been floored.

"As much as I hate you right now, I cannot erase all the good things you've brought out of Sakura. And I now that she's hurting too right now."

He smiled a small smile. This was not the end, he knew it. This should mean something. He knew he had a long way to go, but this is something to hold on to.

"I have questions and I want them answered in the most honest way possible. No excuses, Li. I don't want to hear bullshit so early in the morning."

She heard her phone ring. Her heard skipped a beat, hoping it was Syaoran. It was not.

"Tomoyo, boss is already here." The call ended.

She had to be thankful for Chiharu for being such a good co-secretary to the biggest bitch of a boss known to man kind. She was not the type to be late, this was her first tardy day in the office maybe Cruella will be forgiving today. She rolled her eyes and inwardly screamed. She was not to be dismissed by anyone, not even Syaoran.

Where the hell is he? She almost screamed that out loud if it wasn't for the ding of the elevator. She already made her way to her building. She was living the high life. Any paralegal would be delighted to have landed a job in K & K. It was, after all, the law firm to aim for.

She stepped inside the elevator. Her coffee in one hand while her back was ramrod straight, her bag slinging in one of her shoulders. She had an image to uphold inside this building. She psyched herself. Today is a great day. Today is a great day. I am confident. I am beautiful. I am confident.

She closed her eyes for a few seconds, took a deep breath and willed herself to move out of the elevator. It was another work day for her, but she made a mental note that as soon as she could, she will get a hold of Syaoran.

Syaoran was looking at the house he was currently in. Yukito was an architect, right? No, he's a lawyer? He sighed. He couldn't even believe how little he knew of Sakura's loved ones. He should know this by heart because they are one now. He realized the gravity of his neglect. He's very grateful that Yukito was the one with them during their happiest moments, and yet I don't even know what he does for a living.

Yukito came back with two cups of tea in his hands and placed them in the table. He sat and looked at Syaoran straight. "I will not tell you where she is exactly, you should know her better." He was searching for answers in Yukito's eyes. Then it clicked.

"Touya."

Yukito smiled, "You're not so hopeless after all, Syaoran."

He looked up at the silver haired man and saw the glint in his eyes. He knew he needed to let everything out. He wanted someone to be on his side even though he's not deserving of it. He wanted them to know that he's ready to grovel at his feet for Sakura to be back.

"Thank you." He whispered. He swallowed the lump in his throat and straightened himself on his seat. He repeated his gratitude with conviction this time, hoping that Yukito would hear the sincerity in his voice. He rubbed his palms on his lap as he watched Yukito sip his tea.

"I didn't mean anything by it, you know. It was just meaningless sex." He could feel his palms sweating because what he just said sounded better in his mind. Yukito's gaze never wavered. "I mean, Sakura's my wife and I intend to keep our marriage alive." With that said Yukito raised an eyebrow.

"I love her, and I will fight until I get her back."

"I just have one question," Yukito said calmly, "who initiated the relationship?"

He grimaced, reliving the stupidity he made was very hard for him. It was like baring himself naked in front of Yukito. He was going to be open for probing. His brows furrowed, he sighed. "It was just random coffee breaks at first being that we were in the same building. But then she made her advances clear when we had dinner after Sakura's birthday last year."

Tomoyo was seated in his car, they were parked outside her apartment complex. Her hand trailing dangerously close to his inner thighs. His hand was still in the gear, gripping it tightly as his mind was racing if he should stop her advances or not. The better part of him won, and he swatted her hand away.

He glared at her, "What do you think you're doing?!"

She was looking out the window. He heard her chuckle before opening the door. She looked at him and smiled slowly before making a beeline to her apartment.

"I knew then that she was trying to seduce me. I knew that it was wrong, but she also knew that I was weak. I was tired, I was craving for Sakura more and more."

Yukito nodded. "That was during her second exhibit, right?"

He nodded, "I was lonely. But that's not an excuse to be a deceitful husband." He bowed his head and his hands curled to a fist. I am a stupid ass.

"You should prepare yourself," the tone in Yukito's voice was firm and serious "Touya won't be as calm and willing to listen as I am."

Sakura woke up to the sound of a faint voices surrounding her. She tried to shake off the sleepiness but her eyes were not cooperating. She tried to make sense of what was happening around her. There was warmth surrounding her right hand, as if enclosed by a familiar touch. She tried to open her eyes again. She succeeded and she felt the warmth in her hand leave and a feather like touch graced her face. She saw light, and a silhouette that's too familiar. A smile crept up her face, "Hello, onii-chan."
