Question: Should I put Max in here? 'Cause if it was in the Mundane world than he wouldn't be dead rigghht? Leave me Answers please:).
THey had been doing Jace's tour for roughly half an hour, he had stopped at every turn, asking Clary what simple things were. Such as: a water fountain, bulletin boards, a P.A. system, and art work throughout the school. They had come up to the courtyard by then, a stone section in the school. It had no roof, stone walls and instead of doors, clean-cut marble arches. Inside was a small grassy field, to study in, sit and talk or even read a good book on some memorial benches. Clary had come to remember all the names:
James Carstairs. Ave Atque Vale. The steady flame alongside the brightest, burning star. The one who realized that there is more to living then not dying. The one who lived without his other half. 1861-Present
Clary always frowned at the last bit, She didn't understand it. No one could possibly live to be over a hundred and fifty years old. She had the same feeling with the next plaque, dedicated to a Theresa Gray.
Theresa Gray. Ave Atque Vale. Also known as Tessa Herondale. If no one at all cares about you, in the entire world. Do you really exist? Be brave, even if it's a duck. Do not seek revenge and call it justice. 1862-Present
All The rest were more plain to Clary.
Jessamine Lovelace. Ave Atque Vale. A lady does not read the newspaper! Life is full of risks. Death is much simpler. Will is being absolutely ridiculous in the dining hall. Goodness, my nose is enormous, why didn't anyone tell me? 1861-1878
William Herondale. Ave Atque Vale. The brightest, burning star amongst the steady flame. Bloodthirsty little beasts. Never trust a duck. They say time heals all wounds, but that presumes the source of the grief is infinite. 1861-1937
Those were all four benches in the entire courtyard. James, Theresa, William, and Jessamine. Clary had nicknames for all four of them. James was Jem, Theresa was Tessa, Tess, or Tessie. William was Will. And Jessamine was Jessie. She imagined these people would have been a cheer to hang with. Jem would be quiet, sweet, and very caring, He wouldn't hide his emotions. Tessa would be a reader, always carrying a book with her, She would laugh and make jokes, not afraid to say things and comfort others. Will would be extremely funny, he would act like he doesn't care, he would throw his life away, be rude to others- but didn't mean any of it, he just had to protect them. Will was the kind of person to walk into a room with some random person and get hit on the hed with a water jug. Jessie was a girly girl, who hates her nickname and most people hate until it was too late.
Clary shook herself out of her daze as Jace sat down on Wills bench. She sat down beside him, he looked as if he was about to say something, when his phone Chimed from his back pocket. Jace quickly shut his mouth and pulled out his phone, he had two unread messages. He didn't even try to hide them her as he opened the first one sent from an: IzzyBelle
J-J-J-JACE MA HOMEDOG. WASSSSSUPPPPP? Actually don't tell me, I don't care. Moms mad at you by the way, she saw you go into some redheaded chicks cab. I DIDNT TELL HER! MAYBE. Anyways she's more mad at me for trying to skip our first day at school, I'll be coming around lunch, Kay?
Jace smiled and Clary took her opportunity to say something before he started to read the other text.
"Who is it?" she asked, biting her lip.
Jace smiled "My sister Isabelle, she doesn't really have much respect for school. But sports, oh she loves sports, and history strangely enough."
Clary nodded, imaging what this "Isabelle" looked like. She expected short, page-boy hair cut, Brown hair and Jace's trade mark golden eyes. She was going to definitely be beautiful. "I know an Isabelle," Clary blurted not thinking, "Her last name is Lightwood not Wayland though."
Jace looked away, staring at this clouds it seemed. When he answered his voice sounded a bit gruff, "Thats her Clary." HE turned back to face her, his face tightly clenched together, " I'm adopted."
Her image of what Isabelle looked like, floated out of her head and landed with a crash and a boom.
"Oh im so sorry! Jace i dont know what came over me! I shouldnt have said that! Oh no oh no! Jace This is not fair on you, I'm just going to go an-and- Oh im so Sorry! Jace i- She said all this very fast but Jace interrupted her.
"Calm down Princess. I dont care about blood. What really makes a family is the bond they share. Me Izzy, Alec and Max have a bond greater than most real family's."
She blushed, "Dont call me Princess."
"Alright. Angel."
Clary rolled her eyes, "Open up your phone and let me snoop." She said commandingly.
Jace grabbed his phone, Swiped it to his messages, and pulled open the other text. This one from an Person Labeled "Becca" with hearts around the edges.
