p style="max-height: 999999px;"Fluttershy was violently thrown into a large room before the door was slammed shut and locked from the outside. Inside was nothing too out of the ordinary: a bed, a few couches, a television set, and so on. But something about it made her shiver continuously./p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""Ah… if it isn't my pet," a voice spoke as the figure showed himself. Sombra was standing in the light of one of the few windows in the room, but he was no longer the shadow he had been. His body, in the form of an old man with black clothes that matched his black hair and facial hair, had been reformed, the moon rock acting as his base./p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"Stuttering, Fluttershy began to back away. "You… you aren't going to…"/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""What? Kill you?" He laughed harshly at this. "Of course not. Not yet, that is. Besides, I have not enough power to do much more than speak and walk at this point. I am still rebuilding."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""Rebuilding?"/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""I know. The very word gives me a chill of excitement. My body is nearly complete again. Already I have taken a true form, instead of that mist I have for so long been sentenced to. But that is a little off of topic." He began to step towards her, eventually taking her face in his hand. "I wonder why you have returned. I thought that when I had let you escape you would have stayed from me."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""I… I…" Fluttershy gulped and backed away from his hand. "I just want… I need to see Paul."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""Why? Do you feel the need to be forgiven? Did he not already save your life? I believe he has forgotten that you crossed him."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""Th-That isn't all he f-forgot."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""Oh?"/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""H-He… He forgot me."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"This made Sombra laugh again. "You? You are the reason that he is currently in my service. So he forgot the exact details of his role in this bitter war. At least he chose a side. That is unlike so many that lie oblivious to my true means."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""You… still want the Fruit?"/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"Sombra looked at her with amusement. "Maybe I should allow you to stay. Yes, I am still after the Fruit. When I get so much as a single drop of the juice in my mouth, I will gain the power to live forever. Immortality. Then at last, I will be able to stand to the rulers of Equestria and take the thrones for myself and my grandson, should he remain useful."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"This last phrase confused Fluttershy, making her even more scared than she already was. "Useful?"/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""You don't honestly believe that I am just keeping him around because he is of my blood, do you? He has been taking care of a few odds and ends for me. Yet all of his training has led him to a bigger and grander goal than he would have believed. Every task he carries out, the draw from his Amulet will be so great that he will lead me to Eden. That's where my goal lies." Fluttershy began to say something when she heard footsteps come up towards the door. At this, Sombra backed into the shadows, saying, "Tell him nothing, or I shall make sure that he cannot catch you next time."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"The door opened, and Paul stepped through, still deep in thought. He walked past Fluttershy without giving her even so much as a passing glance. He walked right over and sat down on one of the couches, his head down. When Fluttershy began to walk towards him he spoke./p
p style="max-height: 999999px;""Why do I know you?"/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"She stopped in her tracks, caught by the question. "I… I…" Then, she took the question for what it was: a chance. "You don't remember how we first met? I was unconscious on the side of the road. You carried me to your house and there I lay until I woke up. You became my first friend in this strange world."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"Paul put a hand to his head. "This does seem correct. But I feel there is more to it than that." He looked up into her eyes, and that's when it happened. The door that had cracked the last time he did that flooded. All of his memories, from first seeing the unconscious girl with pink hair to the end of his training under Chaos Blade./p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"The flood seemingly threw him back against the couch, his hands flying to his head. "Paul!" Fluttershy knelt on the floor in front of him, placing her hands on his arms./p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"After a while, his pain passed. He slowly dropped his hands and looked at Fluttershy. "You… you are the reason..."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"She dropped her eyes in shame. "Paul… I'm… I'm so sorry."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"Before she could react, Paul grabbed her arms and pulled her towards him, placing his lips on hers. They stayed that way for a while before finally breaking apart. "You are the reason… that I am back."/p
p style="max-height: 999999px;"strongChapter Complete. And that is where I'm going to leave you for a while. I hope this chapter, while smaller, does fit with the rest of them. And again, thank you.
