Chapter 5
**Star's POV**
"Why does cookie dough ice cream taste better when your upset?" I asked myself.
Laying on my couch hugging my body pillow, covered in a blanket, eating ice cream and watching NCIS. How to know when you've had a bad day, I'm prime example. After leaving the museum I called Aris and told her to cancel any of my appointments she couldn't take care of. I proceeded to stop buy as much cookie dough ice cream as I could fit in my freezer and went home. I have sense been watching Netflix. Until Kaiba's face showed up on my TV to which I screamed.
"Quiet down Sanders, I needed to discuss things with you and your secretary said you took the rest of the day off. I can plainly see that you're just stuffing your face," he growled out.
"Look I had a pretty shitty and overwhelming day after I left the museum. So-," I started.
"Museum? Wait, did Ishizu talk to you?" he asked and I nodded. "What crazy things did she tell you?"
"So she did talk to you?" I asked.
"She's how I got Obelisk, and tried to get me to believe some duel from 3000 years ago, which was obviously staged."
"She tried to tell me that I'm some reincarnated queen from ancient Egypt. This Pharaoh was her husband and this priest was her true love. I said it was bullshit went to leave, when she told me my grandpa loved me and if I didn't believe her to ask you," I said raising an eyebrow. Kaiba had a look shock only for a second before he was once again emotionless.
"Well in this duel, this priest said something about taking back his love, so you cleared that up," he said taking a deep breath. "And yes, your grandfather did love you. He helped me out a few times when I was trying to get Kaiba Corp. in the right direction. He mentioned how smart and talented his granddaughter was and he hated not being able to see you do anything that you loved and begged him to come to. He said it was for your own good, this way he knew once his time was up, he could leave the company to you and not your parents. He told me also to never say a word of it until you asked. Which became easier since you found new ways to piss me off."
I was shocked this time, I never believed my grandpa to love me, since he had an excuse to miss out on everything. I understand though, my father was rich because of my company. So my parents were well off putting me into boarding schools, so they didn't have to really deal with me. When I took over the company I cut my father off completely making him sell everything and actually get a job to survive. It may have been heartless, but so were my parents my whole life. I felt like I was alone in this world, until I met Aris.
"Well thanks for telling me. Ishizu also dueled me, according to her, since I'm supposedly some queen this is why I use the Dark Magicians in my deck and why I'm not scared to stare down your Blue Eyes either."
"Please tell me you don't believe this shit."
"I don't, but I find it strange that more and more things keep occurring that she mentioned. Anyway what did you need? I'm in the middle of re-watching NCIS."
"Right, is there any way with your systems we can launch a website so people can watch the Battle City duels live?"
"Yeah, it's pretty simple. I'll just need some information from you like IP addresses and frequencies to match up and it should be done."
"Also if you have some of your employees help out, I'll list you as top sponsor," he said and I smirked.
"Am I hearing this right Seto Kaiba asking me to be a sponsor of a Kaiba Corp. event?"
"Keep talking like that and I retract the invite," he said narrowing his eyes at me.
"Fine, you're no fun; I'll go through employees tomorrow or tonight, since I have it all and make a list of employees who would be perfect for this."
"Good, I'll be in touch tomorrow since Battle City will be announced tomorrow," he said and I nodded. "And Sanders don't think too much on what Ishizu said, stupid doesn't look good on you."
I chuckled and he cut out of my screen was back on my show. I sat up setting my ice cream on the table and reached for my laptop. I instantly went into my systems and started tracking how he hacked into my systems.
The next morning my limo pulled up in front of my building and I got out yawning. I didn't sleep well, I tried to listen to what Kaiba said, but with what he said about my grandpa and the fact that Ishizu knew about it bothered me also.
"Hey Starry Eyed," Aris said coming up to me when I walked in.
"Hey Airhead, so what happened yesterday?" I asked as she handed me a stack of papers.
"Nothing too big I couldn't handle, it was mostly people wanting to become partners, but they didn't have anything together, so I told them no," she said as we walked to the elevator and I sifted through the papers.
"Sweet, did you hit them with the door on the way out?"
"Star," she warned and I chuckled. "So what happened yesterday if you don't mind telling me?"
"Aris you know I don't mind, you're basically my sister," I said before explaining to her everything.
I was sitting behind my desk when I finished explaining it all to her, including my talk with Kaiba.
"No wonder you took the rest of the day off, I don't blame you. So do you believe that you're a reincarnated queen?" she asked.
"I don't know what to believe, to be honest. There's no facts to back any of this up, but so many coincidences," I sighed.
"Gibbs rule number 39, there's no such thing as coincidence."
"I know, right!' I shouted before falling back into my chair.
"Anyway, do you have the employees you want to be a part of the tournament?" she asked trying to take my mind off everything.
"Yeah, I can email you the list since I did it all on my laptop. Can you put through a call to Kaiba? I need the stuff to create the viewing site."
"Already, on it," she smiled before running out the door to her desk.
About twenty minutes later, my office phone was ringing.
"Sanders," I said, getting back to being professional.
"Umm Kaiba's here to see you," Aris said and I chuckled.
"Send him in Air."
The door opened a he walked in wearing all black and a white trench coat. If he wasn't such an ass he'd be attractive, but you know I can't get a date anyway. He also had a large white box shoved under his arm, with his traditional briefcase.
"Hello Kaiba, I was actually trying to call you," I said standing up from my desk and walking around to meet him.
"I figured you'd need the codes, so here those are. How long will it take you to get it up and running?"
"Should take me more than a few hours, sine it's top priority. I will need to test it to see if it really does work," I said leaning against my desk crossing my arms thinking.
"Well here's you official duel disk, you should be able to use that and test it to see," he said handing me the huge box.
"Thanks, I'm assuming the locator card's in here?" I asked.
"I forget you hacked my system and know as much as I do, but yes it's in there. By tonight all duelists in the system should have a registered duel disk. You have all the codes they also include photos and duelist level."
"Ok so the registration numbers of duel disks are linked to the person, ok then that should be simple. Can I have access to your duel monsters database? I'm trying to hire better lawyers so Pegasus will give me access, but as of right now I don't have it and can be sued for using anything duel monsters related."
"Since you're a sponsor and short term partner with Kaiba Corp. that should be no problem I'll double check with my lawyers to make sure you will be safe and email you the codes once I get word. Should be about an hour tops."
"Ok and I also need work hours and locations for my employees to go to, so they can help out. Aris is currently contacting all them double checking availability."
"I gave it to Aris when I walked, I assumed she'd be contacting employees since you're working on the site," he said.
"When you making the announcement?" I asked.
"Noon, so I have a few hours to get everything done. How soon can you get me a web address to put on flyers I'm giving out?"
"No time at all," I said going back around to my desk and motioned for him to follow. "DO you want it to be a part of the Kaiba Corp. website our its own entity?"
"If you can do Kaiba Corp. that would work better."
I nodded and it took me a second to hack his website, which I heard him grumbled about. I instantly made a page for it, now I have somewhere to start.
"There you go, I'll make it public when it's done. For now I'll just have a timer till noon for the announcement," I said.
"That works, do you need anything else to make this work?"
"No, I think I got it."
"Good, get it done."
