Slowly waking up I felt really warm and comfy. Deciding I was still sleepy I rubbed my head against the warmth. Wrapping my hands around my pillow I pulled it closer to me breathing in its musky scent. It smelled like when my tree was still healthy and if there were multitudes of it. "Wait. What!?" I bolted upright, wide awake, just to see a man garbed in blue. "Wow… He's pretty handsome. Where did that come from," I blushed, trying to get rid of my thoughts.

While I was rapidly shaking my head trying to clear it, I must have woken up the other male. I froze and held my breath, hoping this wasn't a dream, at the same time I was hoping it was.

My eyes felt like they were glued shut, and I really wanted to keep sleeping, but my instincts were telling me something was wrong, and my instincts were never wrong. So I forced my eyes open quickly, startling the man in front of me. I observed him more thoroughly now that I was tired, "Whoa. He looks really handsome."

"Bad thought! I'm the hero of time I have to save the Hyrule. I can't be having thoughts like this. What is he doing anyway? He's just kneeling there with the cutest little bit of pink on his face. Bad! Wait! He's not embarrassed is he? Oh! He could be angry at the whole lap pillow thing… I better apologize." My internal rant stopped when I noticed he was getting ready to get up.

I stood up and grabbed his wrist, stopping him from moving. This in turn woke up Navi, who floated out from my hat lazily. The other male looked at Navi in fascination, like he had never seen a fairy before.

"Whoa, what a pretty color," The man whispered so quietly I almost didn't catch it, still staring dazedly at Navi. This woke her up, and she flew around him in circles, "Thank you!" she giggled. He jumped when she did this, but then held his hand out for her to sit on it.

I used this chance to look around the room again, seeing that it had changed. It now looked like most of the other rooms in the temple, blue tile on the floors and walls, no more water on the ground, and thankfully no more endless mist. I came back to the conversation going on in front of me when I heard my name.

"Link? That's your name," the shadow me asked. Navi had probably told him, so I wasn't too shocked he knew. I simply nodded in answer.

"So, do you have a name?" Navi asked, flying off the shadow's hand, and onto my head. I noticed he looked sad by this question, looking down on his feet, shaking his head in a negative.

"Hmm. How about we call you Dark? At least for now! Why are you here anyways, Dark?" Navi said excitedly flying of my head to do circles again. He quickly looked up, with a surprised look on his face, and smiled at the new name. I didn't realize but my face had turned into a soft smile.

"Well, I'm stuck here. I don't know for how long, but I do know that I've grown. When I first got here, that tree was healthy, and I was half as tall as the doors." The newly dubbed Dark said sadly. "About half the size of the doors huh? Wasn't I like that seven years ago?" I pondered to myself.

"Oh my gosh! You must have been stuck here for years, you poor thing. All by yourself?" Navi floated down on top of Dark's head, giving him a semi-hug. Dark smiled up to the top of his head, "Not always, sometimes Ganondork would send his Phantom here. Although, I haven't seen him in a while now." Dark said.

I couldn't help it, when he said Ganondork, I snorted, loudly. I put my hand up to my mouth, to cover my smile, and stop any more sounds. "Link! You laughed, I haven't heard that in forever!" Navi said floating over to me. I looked away, trying to hide my embarrassment of laughing in front of Dark. Dark just looked at me in wonder, I noticed he does that a lot.

"You can talk!" Dark suddenly pointed to me, I just nodded, while Navi explained for me. "It hurts him to talk, that's why I'm the designated Link Translator!" She giggled flying around again. She was way too hyper for her own good today, must have been that nap, I glared at her.

Navi noticed and just giggled some more, floating down to talk to Dark about nonsensical things again. I took this time to explore the room again, without the fog it was much easier. "Where's he going?" Dark asked. Navi said uncaring, "Oh! He can't sit still for more than a few minutes. It's all this dungeon crawling we do." "Dungeon crawling?" I heard Dark say confused. I went over to the door I came in, noticed it was still barred and went to the other one. This one was also barred. "Great. Just great. This must really be the mini boss room. Which means…." I looked at Dark, thinking how innocent he was. I mean he couldn't be the monster right? Although, the key to this room was a master sword, and he does look just like me…. The other keys pertained to the villain, the lantern keys for the Forest Temple, and the fireball keys for the Fire Temple.

"Oh Goddesses what should I do?" I don't want to kill Dark, he's funny, Navi likes him, and to be honest, I don't think I can hurt him.

I walked over to where Dark and Navi were sitting and watching me. "Did you find anything out Link?" Navi asked floating up to sit on my head. I shook my head in a negative, and Navi's wings drooped in sadness.

"Dark, can I try something?" I asked the other male, even though it hurt to speak.

XxDarkxX

My jaw dropped at hearing his voice, it was husky and quiet, like my voice when I first wake up. Though I guess that's to be expected with him not speaking very much. I nodded my head in answer to his question. He held his hand out and gestured for me to put my hand in his. I was embarrassed by this, I mean, why does he want to hold my hand. I did so shyly, with Navi awwing in the background. Then he pulled his sword out of his sheath, I tried grabbing my hand back, but he held it tightly.

"Link! What are you doing?" Navi gasped in fear. "Relax, I'm not going to hurt him, I'm just testing something. I'm just going to give you a small scratch, ok Dark?" Link looked me dead in the eye, waiting for my consent. I was hesitant, but after a moment, decided to trust him. I watched in slight dread as he took his sword and held it above my arm. He sliced quick and true, I almost didn't realized it had happened.

Link was intently watching the scratch, as if he expected it to start doing something besides bleed. After a moment when nothing happened, he sighed in relief and put his sword away. "Link, really, what was that for? Dark are you ok? It doesn't hurt to badly does it. Get the red potion Link." She floated over to me to check on my arm. She landed on my arm and then gasped, "Wait! Where did it go? He did cut you right?" Navi started flashing red. I jumped back in shock, not expecting that.

"Uhm, Ganondork made me go through a ritual to heal super fast. I guess he hoped it would give me an advantage when I had to fight the Hero." I said kind of mumbling. I noticed Link didn't laugh when I said that name this time, though he did narrow his eyes at me. What did I do this time?

"He's here to kill me? He was put here by the Dark King? That means that he's evil then.. Right? But the Master Sword didn't try purifying him, when I scratched him." All this stress is giving me a headache. I pinched my upper nose between my fingers, hoping to dispel the headache forming. Navi floated worriedly over me when she noticed, "Link, what's wrong?"

"Dark, I have something to tell you, don't interrupt. Or I don't know if I'll be able to finish," Dark slowly nodded his head in affirmative, "The Hero of Time is the reason you're here correct? The reason you were put here by Ganondorf?" Dark nodded his head again in affirmative, when Navi saw this she gasped, loudly.

"I have some news for you then, I am the Hero of Time, I am the person you are supposed to kill," I could see Dark to panic at these words, but I saw he didn't immediately reach for his sword which was good. "This sword," I grabbed the Master sword's hilt, " is the Master Sword, it put me into a seven year slumber when I found it, because my body wasn't big enough to wield it yet." I rubbed my throat, it had started to throb, Dark noticed this.

"You don't have to speak anymore, just nod yes or no for my next questions ok?" Dark said holding his hands out to stop me from speaking. I nodded my head in affirmative. "You are the bane of my master," he spat the word out with venom. I nodded. "When you scratched me with the Master Sword, were you checking to see if I'm evil," I nodded again, Navi gasped again.

Dark was silent for awhile, I had thought he was done talking so I got ready to dig through my bag for my medicine, the creepy, old, potion lady gave me for my throat. Hey, she may be crazy, but it works for the pain. I was so intent on medicine, I almost missed his last question. "Am I evil, Link?" I gasped, then twinged in pain when it hurt my head more.

I shook my head frantically, trying to make his sad expression go away. I got close to him, and grabbed both his hands in mine. I waited till he looked me in the eyes, which wasn't hard considering we were the same height, the smiled softly and shook my head no again. He smiled at me in reply, and Navi took this opportunity to sit on our hands and hug them.

I reluctantly let go of his hands, "Why am I so attached to him already? It feels as if I know him. Though I guess you could consider him my other half." I shook those thoughts out of my head and gestured for Navi to ask the questions, while I dug for my medicine again.

"So, Dark, do you know the way out of here?" Navi asked floating around again. "No, why do you think I was so desperate to get to the door, when you guys got here?" Navi drooped in sadness again. I made hand movements to Navi and she bounced in understanding.

"Do you possibly have a weapon or item of some kind in here?" Navi got really close to Dark's face. He stepped back in surprise, then looked at the dead tree, or more specifically the hollow in said tree. Navi saw where he was looking and zoomed over to it, looking inside. The light from Navi's glow was lighting the tree from the inside, making the tree seem magical. I went over and looked inside, "Link, help me! This is heavy!" Navi groaned out. I reached in, avoiding Navi's wings, and grabbed something cold and metallic.

I pulled it out and looked at it, it was the hookshot! That means, I looked over at the doors and sure enough, the bars lifted like they were never there to begin with. I grinned widely, looking at Navi who was circling rapidly, then at Dark who smiled back in reply. I walked to the door, not noticing that Dark wasn't following. I looked back and gestured at Navi, then pointed at Dark. "Dark! Are you coming or not?" Navi yelled, as I held my hand out towards him.

Dark grinned widely again and ran towards me. "I'm going to be with you every step of the way right?" Dark asked excitedly, yet hesitant, afraid of the answer.

"Of course." I said as I lead Dark out of his prison cell.

Annnnndddd done :D

I know that it's different than the other version, like how they kissed and all, but I reread that and thought that it just moved waaayyyy too fast. So I'm writing this version instead, I honestly like it better, it makes me feel more accomplished than the other version did.

Anyways please review and let me know what you think!
