The sandman was constantly sending out dreamsand to bring sweet dreams to young boys and girls. One would think that this would take a lot of effort, which it no doubt did, but over the years Sandy had perfected his methods. He loved protecting dreams, as all Guardians loved doing what they did. But Sandy did his job in a way that no others could relate to. He moved his sand as if it were simply a fluid part of his body, and waved his arms as if conducting a symphony. Unheard music exploded behind his ears as he twisted and turned the sand, careful to make sure he didn't miss a single child. His eyes would flit open and closed slowly as he passionately sculpted his sand into beautiful dreams that he knew the children would enjoy. His body moved with the sand, aiding him in his task. Sandy truly lived and breathed dreams, so much that he wouldn't dare open his mouth in fear of waking the children from such pleasant fantasies.

He was so moved by his own passion that he almost didn't notice the figure draw near him out of the corner of his eyes. He relaxed himself, focusing merely on keeping the sand moving, which, again was not that difficult for such an advanced spirit.

"Sandy!" Jack called to the mute. "Sandy, I need your help, you're the only guardian left." Sandy was shocked by this. Only Guardian left? What has happened? What happened to the other guardians? A curly question mark made by golden sand appeared above his head. This was clearly an urgent matter. "I've already asked the other three, but none of them will help me. I need to know about love." Oh, we'll that was a lot less severe than what Sandy had been thinking. The question mark slowly crumbled into Sandy's hand, the sand ready to be sculpted once again once the golden spirit saw fit.

"Jamie's in love." Jack said, realizing the confusion he had caused. "Can you help?" Jack intended to keep this short and simple, after all, he knew getting anything out of the Sandman would really just be a very intricate game of charades. Sandy raised his hand to his cheek in a pondering motion. Then, with an exclamation point above his head, he began to make a heart out of sand.

"Yes, I need help with love." Jack said anxiously, nodding his head quickly. Sandy scrunched up his face and got rid of the heart, forgetting how dense Jack Frost was. He then made a bow with a heart-shaped arrow in it. "Wait, what's that?" Jack said, confused. Sandy then made the figure of a girl, holding the bow and arrow. Angelic wings stretched from her back. "Is that an angel?" Jack said with ignorant amaze. Sandy scrunched up his face again, but he was too nice to hold it against Jack. He pointed from the girl, then to Jack, then to himself.

"Oh so she's a guardian?" Sandy shook his head. "Like a guardian?" Sandy nodded. "So she'll help me with this?" Sandy seemed confused, and started to think it over again. Then, he nodded without assurance. Jack figured that even without assurance, it was his best bet. He was suddenly out of Guardians he could resort to. "Well, where can I find her?" Jack asked. Sandy let out another stream of sand, separate from the children's, and at the end was an arrow pointing ahead. "Thanks Sandy! Knew I could count on you!" Jack said before zooming off to follow the stream. Sandy waved him goodbye then turned away with a somewhat worried expression on his face. He knew Jack would be okay, but for the latter party… Well, that worry was for another day Sandy figured. He was anxious to resume his dream-giving. He giddily rubbed his hands together and once again began conducting his sand.
