There were a lot of things wrong with what her friend just said.
One she was gonna go talk to Mako.
Two what if Mako thought differently of her.
Three Korra needed a way to get back at her friend for doing something like this.
"No! No! No! There is no need for you to do that Bianca. I can talk to him myself." Korra said with a flustered face.
"If you say so can here comes Mr. Big Shot right now." Bianca said with a smirk. The blue eyed girl turned her head ever so slightly and her friend was right. Mako and his brother were walking right up to them and they look to be deep conversation about something.
"What are we gonna do?"
"Where is this we coming from?"
"I hate you."
"I love you too Kor."
"I don't know what to do Mako. I mean I think I'm starting to fall for Bianca." Bolin expressed to his older brother.
"Why don't you just ask her out?" Mako question. Normally Bolin would have no problem getting a girl to fall for him and taking them out on dates, but Bianca changed something in his brother.
"Ask her out?! Are you crazy?"
"Not really."
"I just can't ask her out. I just met her even though she seems like an amazing, nice, talent, smart young lady I don't think that she'll want to go out with someone like me."
"Well Bo you'll never know if you never ask her."
"Thanks Mako and I'm sorry about what happened between you and Asami today." Mako sighed as he remembered the tragic scene from lunch today.
Flashback
Asami wanted to meet Mako by her locker today at lunch. It was their senior year of high school and even though it was just the first day, they needed to have a serious talk about their future together. As he rounded the corner to her locker he heard other voices.
"You know you need to go Mako could be here any minute." The voice that straightly sounded like Asami said.
"I don't care about him. Why haven't you broken up with him yet?" The other voice said. The raven haired girl sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Iroh it takes time to break up with someone."
"You know I can take care of you better then he can."
"I know but just give me a few days we just got back to school."
"Okay." The raven haired boy leaned down and kissed Asami on the lips and circled his arms around her as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Unknown to them, Mako heard every word and there was an actual tear that ran down his face.
"It's okay Bo it's not your fault."
"I know but you don't deserve that especially not from her." When Mako reached to say something they were already in front of Korra and Bianca.
"Hello ladies." Bolin said as he sat next to Bianca with a smile, leaving the amber eyed boy to sit next to Korra.
"Hey Bolin." The blonde said back with a smile.
"So what were you guys talking about?"
"My party that I want to throw."
"Oh cool. When is it?"
"It's Friday and Bianca wanted to invite you and Mako." Korra said with a smirk.
"Don't worry we'll be there, right Mako?" Bolin asked his brother; although Mako saw right through his asking. Partying wasn't really something the brothers did often only because it wasn't their thing, but Mako knew that his brother wanted to go to the party to spend time with the girl he had a crush on.
"Of course Bo." The girls smiled to themselves as the boys' coach called practice to resume. This party was going to be amazing.
Practice ended around 6:30 and the four teenagers walked home from the school and decided to stop at Chick Fil A for their dinner and to do homework. Mako paid for everyone's meal and although Korra and Bianca tried to talk him out of it, it was too late.
The lady told them that it would take a minute for their food since they were short staffed and the drive thru line was wrapped around the building and their order was large. The four teenagers nodded their heads before finding a large table to support them. Bolin and Bianca sat on one said and Mako and Korra on the other.
"Who gives homework on the first day of school?" Bianca asked as she took out her social studies text book and her notebook.
"Bei Fong." The other three teenagers answered her question. Sighing they all got to work. Bei Fong probably hated teenagers of all kind or anyone that walked in her class and didn't want them to have any social life due to the fact that she assigned four pages for them to read and answer the short questions before assigning them an extra twenty chapter questions.
Once their food arrived the young adults put away all signs of their homework and began to eat their food.
"You know Korra I don't know what to wear on Friday." The blonde told her friend before she popped a fry in her mouth.
"Just wear a skirt or something I don't really know."
"We should go shopping afterschool."
"Ugh do I have too?" The brunette asked her friend with her pouting face. At that moment Mako decided to declare that her pouting face was the cutest thing he ever saw in his face.
Wait what? He just broke up with his "girlfriend" not too long ago and it was no time for him to jump into another relationship.
"Yes you have to go. I'm going to get the car from my dad tomorrow and were going shopping and that's final."
"I don't see you forcing the boys to go." Korra said under her breath before taking a slip of her tea.
"Well if you want Korra we'll go with you so you won't have to be tortured." Mako stated and give Bolin the look.
"Yeah, it'll be fun to go shopping and get to know you guys better." Bolin said with a happy tone.
"Fine. They can go too."
The other three teenagers smiled before finishing their food. Once their food was done they continued their homework before calling it a night and the restaurant was closing anyway. Since they walked from the school they had to walk home from Chick Fil A, but thankfully the street lights were on.
"So where do you live at exactly?" Bolin asked as they walked through the neighborhood.
"Trying to stalk me I see." Bianca said in a teasing voice.
"Haha no. I want to make sure you get home safely."
"I live around the corner. It's the fifth house to the left."
"Lead the way m'lady. Hey Mako I'm gonna walk Bianca home okay? I'll meet you at the house."
Before Mako could say anything his brother and the blonde were gone.
"I shake my head at him sometimes." He said pitching the bridge of his nose.
"Aww but it's cute." Korra replied causing Mako to smile.
"So umm where do you live?"
"Not too from Bianca, it's just we take a right turn at the stop sign instead of the left."
"I'll walk you home."
"You sure?"
"Of course." Mako said as he smiled at her and she smiled right back at him. As they continued to walk towards her house they talked about everything and anything that came to their mind. Korra learned that Bolin was two years younger than Mako but his GPA is high enough to help him graduate a year early. His favorite color is red and he never lets anyone touches his red scarf due to the fact that it was his grandfather's before he passed away.
Mako learned that Korra's favorite color was blue and that she grew up in the South Pole before moving to Republic City to live with her Uncle Tenzin, his wife Pema, and their three kids Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo with a fourth one on the way. Sadly their conversation had to come to an end because they were right in in front of her door.
"Thank you for walking me home Mako." The blue eyed girl said with a smile.
"You're welcome. Anytime." Before anything else could be said between the two the front door flew open and revealed a small child no younger than five staring right at the two teenagers.
"Korra do you know what time it is?" the child asked her and all she did was roll her eyes before bending down to pick up the child, who wrapped his small arms around her neck.
"Meelo this is Mako. Mako this is my little cousin Meelo."
"Hi Meelo." The amber eyed boy said towards the little child.
"Hi. Whatcha doing with my cousin?"
"I'm just walking her home don't worry."
"Meelo! Who's at the door?" a young woman's voice could be heard as she walked, wobbled, to the door. She was around eight months pregnant and looked somewhat tired.
"Oh hello. I'm Pema, Korra's aunt." She said as she stuck her hand out to shake his hand as he did the same.
"I'm Mako."
"He was just walking me home. We were doing homework at Chick Fil A with his brother and Bianca." Korra explained before Pema could question him.
"Oh well that's very nice him. Anyway I'll take Meelo so you two can finish talking," Pema said as she reached for her son who willingly went into her arms. "It was nice meeting you Mako. I hope I'll being see you around a lot."
"It was nice meeting you too." Pema closed the door and Mako could have sworn that he saw her wink at Korra before going in the house.
"Well I'm glad it wasn't Ikki or Jinora at the door because otherwise you would never go home with all the fifty million questions they have." The teenage girl said with a small laugh causing the boy standing next to her to do the same.
"Well I should get going and make sure Bolin is home."
"Okay, but really thank you walking me home."
"No problem. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright good night."
"Night." Mako walked away from her house and started his walk to his house with his hand deep in his pockets; although he and Asami broke up on the first day of school, he found his happiness by hanging out with Korra and that made his day a whole lot better. And for the third time that night Mako smile was very real and he liked it like that.
"And then we had to run with flour on us because the guard was chasing us." Bolin said as he told the story about how he and Mako were chased out of his father's very important dinner party when they were six and eight years old. Bianca was laughing so loud that she could have sworn her neighbors were going to wake up.
"Sounds like a fun life."
"Yeah it was. Although I need to get home before Mako kills me."
"It's okay. Thank you for walking me home."
"You're welcome. I'll see you tomorrow." Before Bolin started to walk away he turned back to wave good bye to Bianca one last time before she closed the door.
Today was a good first day.
A/n: Hello everyone! How are you? I know I haven't updated this story in forever and I'm really sorry but 2017 and maybe some of 2018 will be the year(s) where I finish all my stories (hopefully my laptop behaves) I know that many people aren't into Mako and Korra anymore because of Korra and Asami but guess what I will forever be a Makorra shipper in my heart but I will support Korra and Asami. Anyway until next time.
