Hey guys! I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE 98 REVIEWS OH MY GODDDDDDDDD! THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH! As promised, here's Chapter 15.
Tucker's POV
I was still trying to get one of the radios from the broken plane to work. No matter how much I tampered with it, it never seemed to cooperate with me. I got one to work for about five seconds, but somehow I picked up a Spanish radio station. Ever since then, I still had hope that someone would rescue us.
"Hey Tuck!" A cheery voice form behind me caused me to jerk up and turn around. It was Jazz, Danny's hot sister. I felt sort of weird thinking of her in that way, but it was sort of true. I didn't try flirting with her like Dash would with Paulina. Believe me though, I'm still a stud.
"Hey Jazz. What's up?" I asked her, putting down my piece-of-junk radio.
"Not much. I was going to collect more fruit. Are you still trying to fix that radio?" She asked, frowning.
"Yeah, but I only got a signal for like five seconds! And that was from a Spanish radio station." I said, sighing.
"Dude, you need to get up and walk around. It's not healthy for you to just sit around and fix a broken radio all day. Come walk with me."
Without arguing, I got up and walked next to her. I stared at the ground and kicked any rocks that were in front of me. I felt kind of nervous. Even though I was a stud, as my best friend back at home jokingly called me, I didn't want to hit on Jazz. She was different from the other hot girls I tried to get to notice me. I looked up and stared at her long hair, which was shining with the sun. It looked so soft and straight, I just wanted to touch it.
"Can you climb up that branch and pick off those bananas?" Her voice broke my thoughts. I nodded and climbed up to the closest stable branch. I picked off the bananas and threw them down to Jazz, who caught them easily. I climbed back down and continued walking with her silently.
"You know Tucker, I never really got to know you. What was your life like before we ended up here?" Jazz asked. Damn! No girl has ever asked me about myself.
"I lived in Manhattan before the crash. I was on the plane because I was visiting family all over the country. I was going to attend my cousin's wedding, and then my aunt's baby shower after that. At school, I'm sort of a 'technology geek'. I definitely wanted to go to college for engineering. Though I hate school, I tried to do well because I need good grades to get into a college." I rambled on like an idiot. God, I couldn't make myself sound any less of an antisocial tech geek.
"That sounds really cool! Do you have a dream school?" Jazz asked, actually seeming interested in the topic.
"Yeah, my dream school was MIT." I realized I hadn't even thought about school or grades or college. For all I know, all of these dreams can just be kissed goodbye. I missed so much school because of this stupid plane crash, I'd probably need to repeat junior year to make up for it.
"MIT sounds amazing! I'm assuming you're 16? Danny is 16 as well. I turned 18 a few months ago. I was a senior in high school and recently accepted to Yale, which was my dream school." Jazz looked down sadly.
"Don't worry. We'll get out of here eventually, and you'll go to Yale." I tried comforting her. I never really talked to girls much, so it was kind of awkward.
"Hopefully. And if we do you'll be at MIT." Jazz gave me a sad smile. I smiled back.
"Hopefully."
We walked back to camp after collecting fruit and sat at the campsite. I glanced over at Danny, who was sitting against a tree with Sam. The two were talking quietly and laughing together. They seemed to be sitting a little too close for people who were just friends.
"What's going on with them?" I asked Jazz, motioning to Sam and Danny. Jazz smiled.
"They got really close I guess. They never seem to split apart or go off anywhere without each other." Jazz replied, sighing softly.
I had to admit. They did look good together. And they definitely had chemistry. I saw two people walking from the woods back to camp: Paulina and Dash. Dash's hair was messy and he was putting on a jacket. Paulina had a wrinkled shirt and was adjusting it.
Oh god. Were they…?
Paulina had messy hair as well. She sat down and tried to fix it. Dash had a huge grin on his face and he sat down next to her like a champion.
Well damn. I was just glad I didn't run into them while collecting fruit with Jazz.
I looked back over at Sam and Danny. Sam was trying to get up and Danny kept pulling her down. They were both laughing, but eventually he let her get up. Sam walked over to Dash and Paulina.
"Where have you guys been?" She asked them, raising an eyebrow and trying to stifle her laughter.
"Uh, exploring in the woods?" Dash responded.
Sam's POV
I was doing a lot of thinking. For some reason, Dash and Paulina seemed really familiar. They didn't go to my high school or my middle school. I went to a public elementary school for a year before transferring to a private school. I met Valerie in elementary school.
'Where have I seen them before?' I thought to myself. I was staring hard at Paulina, who was still trying to fix her hair. I suddenly jerked up.
Shit.
Dash and Paulina were the snobs who bullied me early in elementary school. Maybe first or second grade? That was how I met Val, she defended me. Then we both transferred to Northland Academy and stayed friends.
What a coincidence that they're here with us now.
'They literally have not changed since first grade. At all.' I thought, laughing to myself. I suddenly felt an arm around my shoulder.
"What's going on here?" Danny's voice filled my head. My stomach churned a little and I smiled to myself. I looked up at Danny and saw him glaring at Dash. Dash seemed oblivious as usual, shoving food in his mouth.
"I just remembered the weirdest thing ever. Dash and Paulina bullied me in first grade." I announced. Both Dash and Paulina looked up at me in confusion. Danny looked surprised.
"What? How did you guys know each other?" He asked.
"We went to the same elementary school before I transferred to a private school."
"I don't remember you." Dash said, scratching his head.
"As if I'd have time to talk to you, goth freak!" Paulina exclaimed. I rolled my eyes.
"Don't talk to her like that." Danny said, glaring daggers at Paulina. I smirked at her.
"Let's just go." I took Danny's arm and dragged him away.
"It's so weird you used to know them." Danny said once we were out of earshot.
"I know. However, I did my best friend thanks to them." I responded, smiling at the thought of Valerie. I missed her so much. She probably texted me a million times asking where I was or what happened to me.
She probably thought I was dead.
"I have to go." I let go of Danny's arm and ran off to the beach. The last thing I wanted him to see was me crying.
Since it was getting dark, I found a spot on the beach that wasn't visible from the camp. I sat down and put my head between my arms. Hot tears flowed down my face. I hate crying.
I probably will never see Valerie again.
My head was suddenly flooded with memories. The first concert we went to, our first crushes on stupid airhead guys, our thousands of trips to the mall and the park, complaining about EVERYTHING together, damn I really missed her.
I heard a voice above my head. "Sam, are you okay?" Of course Danny found me. I looked up and saw him in his ghost form. He was sort of glowing in the dark. He flew down next to me and turned back into his human form.
"How the hell did you find me?"
"Uhh, ghost eyes are really strong."
"Of course they are." I rolled my eyes and rested my head on my knees. Danny forced me to look up and saw the tears. God, they were STILL falling. Without saying a word, he used his thumb to wipe them away. His hand felt warm against my cheek, and I had to use all of my willpower to stop myself from leaning into his touch.
"We should get back. It's dark." I quickly stood up and ran back to camp.
"Sam, wait up!" Danny yelled behind me, running.
I walked over to Jazz and sat down next to her. "What's for dinner? Fruit? Fish? I'm a vegetarian but now I don't care. I'm starving. I don't want to eat stupid coconuts again. I want burgers. And fries. And a shake. And pizza. And cake. And cookies. I hate eating fruit all day. I want to leave. I want to LEAVE NOW!" I was rambling like a total idiot. I couldn't stop.
"Sam, you're having a mental breakdown!" Jazz cried out. She tried to give me some water, but I refused it.
"I want to see Valerie. And never come back here. I hate this stupid island. I'm starving." I suddenly burst out laughing.
"I—I just HATE everything y-you know?" I was laughing hysterically. Tears were rolling down my face, and I attracted everyone's attention in the camp.
"Jazz, what's wrong with her?!" I heard Danny cry out. I continued laughing, my stomach was killing me.
"She's having a nervous breakdown! This is really dangerous! She's having a full blown panic attack! We need to calm her down now." Jazz yelled.
Danny's POV
Seeing Sam in hysterics was the scariest thing I have ever seen. She wouldn't stop laughing and crying at the same time. Jazz tried to grab her and give her some water, but she refused it.
"I can't calm her down!" Jazz cried out, exasperated.
"Wait, I have an idea!" I exclaimed. I dragged Jazz and Sam to the woods, leaving Timmy, Paulina, Dash, and Tucker in confusion.
"What are you going to do?" Jazz asked. I went ghost and lifted Sam up. Jesus, ten minutes later and she's still in hysterics. Without saying a word, I lifted both of us off the ground and soared straight up into the air.
Ignoring Sam's laughter, I continued to fly through the cool air. I dodged the highest trees and tried to make Sam aware of her surroundings.
Slowly but surely, Sam started shaking less and was more calm. I flew slower, hoping that she would say something, or give some signal that she was alright.
She looked up at me and I noticed that tears were no longer streaming down her face. She just had a blank look.
"Sam, are you okay? You really scared me!"
"Don't stop flying." She mumbled. I wasn't sure if she passed out or fell asleep because she was so exhausted and tired. Within five minutes of flying, she was out cold. I continued to fly through the trees and we passed over the lake that we discovered. The moon was shining on it, and the water was glistening. After about twenty minutes, I flew down to the foods, turned back into a human, and carried her back to camp.
"Jazz, she calmed down while I was flying and then passed out in my arms. Is that normal?" I asked. My sister was the psychologist here.
"She's going to be fine. You calmed her down and she passed out because she's extremely stressed and exhausted." I smiled and gently set her down. I took a sweatshirt I found and lay it on top of her like a blanket. I used Jazz's backpack as a pillow. Though it wasn't the most comfortable arrangement, she seemed okay.
Jazz walked over to the others. "Okay guys, don't make too much noise. We don't want Sam to wake up, okay? She really needs the rest."
"You really like her, don't you?" Jazz said softly. I blushed and didn't say anything. She chuckled. "I'm going to get some rest too." I nodded and she went off.
Unknown POV
About three hours after Sam's panic attack, everyone else was asleep as well. I had another meeting with Clockwork about the mission. I really hoped he brought food again. I quietly got up and escaped the camp. Well, time to find that tree again.
I started climbing up the branches when suddenly I heard—
"Hey! What are you doing?!" Two bluish teal eyes were staring directly at me.
Shit. Tucker caught me.
Uh oh, Tucker caught the "mystery" person sneaking out! I feel so bad for Sam. The poor girl had a full blown panic attack. She's such a strong character, but even the strongest break at some point. It's pretty weird that Dash and Paulina were the ones who bullied her in first grade, and now they're all stuck on that island together. Anyone else ship Tucker and Jazz? Hehehe. Anyways, PLEASE PLEASE REVIEW! Let's get the review count to over 100! We're very very close! Chapter 16 is FULL of reveals. Secrets will be told. Action will take place. Shit's gonna get real.
