Chapter 23

Captain Marine pointed at the steep hills "Over there. That be where the light fell from."

Some stepped next to her and in a raspy voice responded "I bet that's where the fox and Sonic is. We need to hurry." The figure ran off.

Captain Marine threw her and back then forward "Come on lads! Charge!" The Coconut Crew ran after the strange man.

Sonic watched in horror at the limp form of his buddy Miles 'Tails' Prower. The fox's two robots were leaning over and trying to help him "Master."

This was not making sense. Tails turns evil after years of being good, he leaves clues for them to follow, helps them solve riddles he made as passwords, ordered Ralph's death, Eggman says tails is not good at all, and now Tails is shot even though he just destroyed the planet.

Anonymous suddenly raised his arm and pushed a button and the four soldiers staggered up. He turned to them and said "Prepare for battle."

They were confused "what? You want us to fight you again?"

"Master, you alright?"

Sonic turned to see Alpha One helping a staggering Tails up. The fox still had tears streaming down his face and was breathing hard "Huugh… What?" He looked around in shock "What?" He looked at Alpha One "Alpha One?"

The robot looked at his master in confusion "Master?"

The fox stumbled over and looked down at himself in shock as if he was surprised he was wearing something at all like the coat he had on. He, however, only turned and picked up two brief cases. "Master, you shouldn't exert yourself." Phi walked over to the fox.

Tails looked at the robot "Phi?"

"Yes. I am Phi."

The fox nodded and walked up to the balcony to see Sonic's confused scared face "T-Tails."

The fox flinched at the sound of the name, pain drenched over his face. Tails put down the cases "Sorry Sonic."

Sonic's ears perked up "Sorry?"

Tails suddenly moved so fast Sonic barely saw it. He pulled out two needles and jabbed them right into Phi and Alpha One. It was those needles he invented. The two robots froze and roared as they got electrocuted. The fox then grabbed the suitcases and leapt over the edge and crashed into the ground next to Sonic.

"ATTACK!" Anonymous voice, still in a monotone, seemingly roared.

The robots that gathered around were stumped. Suddenly there were thousands of gunshots and robot after robot got hit with needles making them electrocuted. Anonymous' men came leaping out behind metal parts and rocks firing their strange weapons at the robots.

What shocked Sonic's group the most was "JET, STORM, WAVE!" Eggman bellowed.

Jet the Hawk, Storm the Albatros, and Wave the swallow came riding on their boards into the fight. Wave was holding a sniper riffle which she tossed at Anonymous. The terrorist leader caught it and threw her a pistol like the ones her team had. She began shooting at the robots like everyone else.

Blaze looked around "What's going on?"

Tails helped Sonic up and lifted the two suitcases he had "It's all part of my plan."

"Plan? Wha-?"

Tails interjected "No time to explain! Open this!"

Sonic took the case and opened it. His eyes widened and his heart leapt. The chaos emeralds. Tails then turned to Blaze who was staring at him with a concerning look of apprehension and compulsive anger. Tails trembled with his ears lowered down to his head as he handed her the next briefcase. She took it with her cold hands and opened them and to her shock it was the sol emeralds "But-."

Tails waved his arms "N-no time to explain! Shadow, Silver, Knuckles, Sonic you need to turn super!"

Sonic looked at Tails "What about you?"

The fox shook with fear again "I-I don't… trust myself."

Sonic shook his head "What?"

"I don't have time to explain. Turn super before-!"

There were two giant crashes; Phi and Alpha One landed on the ground "You have placed our master under your control hedgehog! You will die for that!"

There was a sudden flash and the two robots looked to see Super Sonic, Super Silver, Super Shadow, and Super Knuckles. All for glared at the robots. Silver raised an arm and blasted the two at the base smashing them into it and inside of it. The hedgehog looked at his hand in shock "WHOA! I had no idea being super would increase my telekinesis like this. This is awesome!"

Tails smiled as he watched the four rise into the air. Sonic pointed at the base "We need to destroy it. Come on!" All four blasted at the base and smashed into it.

Tails turned to see the rest of the group looking at him. The fox raised a hand and rubbed his head "H-hi guys… I'm sorry… There's no point in apologizing since no one will forgive me, but I feel compelled to."

Cream and Cheese came running out and suddenly almost tackled the shocked fox. "I'M SO SORRY!" The rabbit cried.

The fox, who usually hates hugs, was to shocked to do anything but pat her back "Err… I… what?"

The rabbit stood back, tears rolling down her cheeks "W-would you ever forgive me for being so mean and rude to you?"

The fox was not expecting this "I… I forgive you Cream, but I should be apologizing to you. I was-."

The chao suddenly covered his mouth and shook its head "You've already apologized." Cream looked up at him nicely.

The fox froze, but a smile formed on his face "You found my box I guess."

The rabbit nodded and hugged him again "Thank you for those flowers."

Tails could not help but smile at the hug, but at the same time he blushed a deep shade of red "Y-your welcome."

Anonymous walked over and picked Seven up. He then pulled out the device he used to turn off his limbs and pressed it. Seven sprung back to life and ran to his master and hugged him. Tails was now getting really uncomfortable "Uh… guys we're in the middle of a war zone."

Sally walked up "Yes, but we're so glad to see you as yourself again."

As Tails was put back down by Seven the fox patted himself "Yah… glad to see myself again." The fox then saw a shadow looming over him and he looked up nervously.

Eggman towered over him looking enraged "You messed with something that could have been more than your death fox. Instead of a clever way to trick us you could have killed yourself. I can hardly speak because of such stupidity. Especially from you."

Tails looked away and traced the ground with his foot "I know… but this was the best way to win."

The ground suddenly shook and Seven was suddenly plastered onto the floor as Alpha One towered over him "I am tired of seeing your face Seven. How many times do you have to die to stay dead?"

The robot seemingly smiled and hummed "SEVEN! WHAT KIND OF JOKE IS THAT!" Roared the massive robot as he kicked the smaller robot away.

Tails jumped on his creation "Stop this, One! It's over!"

The robot grabbed Tails and flung him at his feet smashing the ground. Tails coughed and looked up at Alpha One who raised a fist "I have no choice, master. The hedgehog has put you under his control. I must stop you before you do something against us." Suddenly a hand came up and a raspy voice spoke up "Round two bolt head."

Alpha One was raised over the newcomer's head and thrown across the crator. "What?" Alpha One scrambled to his feet and turned to look at his opponent "IMPOSSIBLE!"

"Can't believe it myself." Was the only response.

Anonymous just reactivated Metal Sonic before he was suddenly thrown off his feet and his force-field went off. Phi stood their shocked at the field "Impressive design, terrorist. But I will prevail!"

The terrorist soon stood "As long as I have this shield you cannot move faster than me."

Phi suddenly disappeared and then Anonymous' armor was nearly ripped off and the shield suddenly blasted. Phi staggered back "Almost cut me off."

Anonymous suddenly staggered back. Phi walked up to him "Technology only moves so fast. Yours is not like my masters. It's slower. So such primitive technology has electricity moving around a hundredth of the speed of light. All I have to do is move faster than that then your sensors will not be able to pull up the shied in time to stop me." Phi rammed Anonymous again and pulled away before the shield came up.

Lee, Alber, Nike, and Deen jumped on Phi "Stop it!" Phi threw them off with ease "I am much stronger and faster than Anonymous. You are powerless to me." A sudden hand tapped his shoulder and the robot turned around.

Blaze the cat was floating there; the only thing that was the same was her eyes and the red jewel on her forehead. Her fur was now pink, Her clothes now burned hot red, and her body was covered in abnormally red fire "I believe I've had enough of you!" She punched him and the robot went flying across the area and smashed into the wall.

She flew down and landed offering a hand to A struggling Anonymous. The leader took the help with no hesitation and stood. Blaze looked at him confused "Being a leader, I thought you would refuse help."

"Being a leader, one must know when they need help."

Blaze looked away and nodded.

Sonic was having the time of his life. Tails was actually good and now he was beating up robots in his super form along with his friends… kind of. Shadow and Knuckles were tearing down the foundation of the base and Silver was only flipping it upside-down thanks to his enhanced telekinesis. The hero flew out of the base with the others as it blew and the hero turned around. Shock plastered all four faces before Sonic's was filled with a smile "This day just keeps getting better and better."

Alpha One pointed at his new foe "I killed you!"

Ralph the dog and ex-agent stood there and pointed at himself "I thought so too, but then they pulled me out of the water helping me."

Alpha One turned to see Marine and the Coconut crew throwing rocks at him "Take that you big waffle iron." The badger yelled.

Alpha One charged at Ralph only for the dog to elbow him in the face, reach his hand in, grab Alpha One's face, and slam him into the ground "Not this time robo-gut! No more Mr. Nice Ralph." The dog then kicked the robot away. Alpha One jumped to his feet and attacked. Ralph blocked everyattack and punched One away. Alpha One then fired his fist and Ralph dodgehed it and grabbed hold of it as it pulled back in. Ralph then kicked Alpha One sending the robot flying and smashing into Phi.

Both robots scrambled to their feet and froze as Super Blaze, Super Sonic, Super Silver, Super Shadow, and Super Knuckles floated down and walked up to them. Sonic crossed his arms and shook his head "You lose Alpha One."

The robot glared as the entire army of terrorists brought down the remaining robots Alpha One pressed a button on his armor and Sonic froze "What did you do?"

"Activated your inevitable death, hedgehog!"

Sonic snorted "Right."

Tails stood and ran to Ralph "Ralph, what happened?"

The dog turned to see the fox "Tails… you acting normal again."

Tails stopped hearing the raspy noise of Ralph's voice "Wh-what happened to you?"

"Alpha One nearly killed me and dropped me into the ocean."

Tails looked sadly down "I thought that might happen."

"Well you did something that saved me."

"Yah. When I built your armor I added a feature to where if something were about to kill you your body would go limp and vital signs would be suddenly protected from any means of finding them."

Ralph shrugged "I'm still alive."

The fox pulled Ralph over and sat him down "I need to fix some of you before you pass out."

Ralph cocked a now visible eyebrow "What?"

"Your mask is not working right. You're not getting needed oxygen. Here."

There was a click and Ralph suddenly took a regular breath. His eyes widened and then closed before suddenly falling back ontop of Tails. The fox pushed him up and slapped him "Ralph."

The dog shook his head violently "Sorry." His voice now sounded normal "That was the most precious amount of air I've had in a long time."

Marine and her crew came up "Well skippa'. We win?"

Ralph put a thumbs up "Yep. We won."

Marine then narrowed her eyes to Tails "Still want your golden pelt."

The fox paused and looked at her "What?"

"Ralph!"

The turned to see his friends running toward him. The dog stood and lloked at them "Hey guy- whoa." Alber nearly tackeled him in a hug.

"Thank goodness you're not dead."

Ralph patted her back quickly "Uh, happy to see you too."

Alber seemed to snap out of her spell and shoot back away from him "So, how'd you survive?"

Ralph laughed lightly, but decided to go with it and pretend to be ignorant to what happened "Well you can thank the Coconut Crew here for that." He indicated to the kids behind him.

Marine and her gang watched the two curiously. Tails took this time to run off to avoide marine's strange gaze.

Eggman looked at the three Babylon Rouges as they flew up to him "Hey, Eggman. Long time no see."

Eggman crossed his arms "I thought you left."

"We did." Storm lifted the case Tails gave them "There were strange instructions inside this thing."

Jet indicated to the case "Inside it Tails told us he had a plan and needed us to do something for him in order to save this and our world… and Wave just… loved what the fox needed."

Wave held up the sniper riffle, blew on her knuckles, and rubbed it on her new possession. "You shot Tails?" Eggman stated bluntly.

Wave shrugged "Hmm. It was fun. Besides. It came with the case." She pressed a button and the riffle suddenly shortened and became able to fit in the case.

Eggman scratched his head "I understand Tails able to do things in such short periods of time, but this is just extraordinary. Wait, 'it was fun?' HAVE YOU STILL NOT GOTTEN OVER THAT ACCEDENT!"

Wave rolled her eyes "Pff. Sure. Accident."

Eggman rubbed his glasses into his skull "Oy vie."

Tails ran up and offered his hand to the birds with a smile "Thank you guys so much. I don't know how to thank you. You've done so much."

Jet shrugged as he shook the fox's hand "Oh, it was nothing… could we keep the case?" The fox cocked an eye brow. Jet held it up and nearly hugged it "Please. It's awesome."

Tails smiled "Sure. I don't have a use for it anymore except for that thing I asked for." Jet took out two braclet like objects and handed them to the fox. The fox looked sad for a moment as he looked at them but suddenly perked up and pocketed them in the coat he wore.

The fox then shook Storm's hand and then looked at Wave "I would shake your hand, but I'm guessing your tired of me touching you."

Wave scoffed "Whatever, Shorty."

Tails shrugged and as he walked off he called back "And yes you can keep the gun."

Wave looked surprise, but smiled as she looked at the gun in her hand.

Sonic walked over, still in his super form, and smiled "Good to see you're back little bro."

Tails smiled "Yah. I'm sorry for suddenly betraying you guys, but I had a plan and had to carry it out." The fox gulped as he looked over to see Blaze glaring at him, she is still in her super form. The fox looked at Sonic with a nervous grin "Sh-she's mad at me isn't she."

"Well… evil you wanted to take her as his own after destroying her world."

Tails looked shocked "What?!"

Sonic shrugged "That's what he was doing."

Tails grabbed his head "That must have popped up in there somehow. I did not… jeeze."

Sonic bent down "You know. You can still try and get Blaze-."

Tails backed up "No, Sonic. There's no point."

Sonic stood "Why?"

"Because… haven't you noticed."

"She may be mad at you, bud, but-."

"Not that. Wow. How can you be so oblivious. When did she start calling me Tails, after you kept telling her to do so. Who did she only listen to? You." The fox smiled, closed his eyes, and shook his head "What's with you and princesses."

Sonic threw his hands up "Wait, wait, wait. You're saying Blaze has a thing for…" He pointed at himself.

Tails nodded "Haven't you noticed?"

Now that Sonic thought about it. Blaze seemed nicer and more open to him. She even let him carry her to the base… of course she really had no other option, but she did blush at it. Sonic rubbed his head "Okay… first of all, don't be too sure of yourself."

Tails smiled smugly "Why? Its not like I'll go extreme and say a princess will kiss your dead body." Sonic looked revolted at the idea.

"I'm sure desecrating a corpse is illegal."

"'Desecrating?'"

"It is a violation of my dead rights."

"That doesn't make it desecrating."

"Yes it does."

"You have no clue what the word means, do you?"

"Master." Tails looked over to se Alpha One crossing his arms next to Phi, both being guarded by Silver, Shadow, and Knuckles.

The twin-tailed fox sighed and replied "What?"

"I wanted to keep this a surprise present for you." The ground suddenly shook. Tails looked around worried. Everyone was looking around now. "I told you we could not fix his shell." Tails blinked in worry "I did not mention that we took him out and made him a new one."

The ground suddenly tore open and a demonic head the size of the base they all just destroyed came out with a mighty, trembling growl.

Blaze looked at it in shock and looked around. Everyone looked pale and terrified now. Even… Tails? She turned and spotted Silver who fell back on the ground seemingly crying "Ahh-ahh."

Tails spun to look at Alpha One "Behold. The 'moving base' that 4.0 Mega Destroyer told you of. Welcome the return of DESTRUCTOR!"

The giant robot roared causing the ground to shatter into pieces.
