Tails' robot has finally exploded and fallen into the ocean to rust. The fox goes to his new home so he can live a happier life, or so thought. No one is willing to accept the world's most dangerous criminal. Two years latter someone is back. And yet his name is still the Mysterious Villain. Has Tails gone back to the dark side? (Sequel to Sonic's Two Tailed Mistake)

26. Chapter 25

Chapter 25

Before With Wave

Wave the Swallow, engineer for the Babylon Rouges, blasted by the utter ruins of a city. There were only a few skyscrapers while everything else was piles of rubble or pieces of ash still descending from the sky. She could see why Anonymous told her to go after the fight instead of him. Even if he could go super fast there were multiple jumps and falling derbies.

She squealed as one of the skyscrapers fell and smashed right in front of her. Her riding instincts kicked in and she jumped up and flipped over the fragmenting rocks and into the open building still crumbling around her. The bird then used her foot to kick away from a falling boulder, then step up through a window, and out just in time as the building completely fell apart. She did, however, bash her foot against that ledge of that window and she mentally cursed at the pain.

It was not her lack of skill that caused her to take that hit. It was the stinking board she was on. It had a huge amount of kick resulting in strange bursts of speed that was completely unpredictable to her. She did invent it, but it was meant for Storm. Being the biggest brute on the team she had to give it a much better stability and proper kick so he could keep up. Being the lightest of the group however means she needs to put in more effort to turn it and a faster mindset causing her judgment to be haywire as she kept trying to go back to when she had her board.

She made a mental note to add a device in the boards that would read what kind of person is riding it as to allow more comfort to the person riding in case something like this happened again… the using someone else's board, not the apocalyptic, word ending scenario going on right now.

The purple bird swallowed as she began to finally near the giant robot of which she could see was throwing off five blurs that continually kept trying to advance on it. The bird had to pry her eyes away from it and look for her intended target. There he was. Miles 'Tails' Prower, the Mysterious Villain, the extreme intelligent kid (not that she would ever admit that), the very person who invented the robot they were trying to destroy was watching the battle with wide worried eyes.

Wave jumped off her board right behind him and landed on her feet. This was not such a good idea however, her foot still hurt from ramming the window and she stumbled a bit and mumbled out a few choice words. Tails did not hear her though. He was too distracted. She kept an eye on him just in case as she sat down and fiddled with her foot. She did not want to appear weak next to this freak.

The swallow stood back up picked up the board, pushed one end into the ground, and then leaned on it. After a few seconds she spoke "Any ideas, brainiac?"

The fox yelped and turned around "Wh-what are you doing here? Go away! This is a battlefield!"

She huffed out in annoyance and placed a hand on her chest "Excuse me! Anonymous told me to come here to help, brat!"

"Who?"

"Besides, it's not like you're coming up with any good ideas for this. So My assistance is needed."

The fox's eyes narrowed and her rounded on her. In shock the swallow backed up and dropped the board "Well EXCUUUUUUSE ME! I'M THE INVENTOR OF THE THING, I KNOW IT INSIDE AND OUT! BUT WHAT DO I KNOW! GO AHEAD BIRD I'M JUST AN IDOT! SHOW US HOW GOOD YOU ARE!"

Wave growled and stomped the ground "DON'T TAKE THAT TONE WITH ME! I'M JUST TRYING TO HELP!"

"YOU CALL THAT HELPING! YOU'RE ONLY DESCRATING ME!"

"LIKE I NEED TO DESCRATE SOMEONE LIKE YOU! YOU'RE ACTIONS COVER EVERYTHING FOR ME, 'MYSTERIOUS VILLAIN'!"

Tails flinched at that and looked away with tears in his eyes. Wave only crossed her arms and smiled in victory, but what came next was a shock to her. The fox whispered to her "You know… You know what it's like… being yelled at… screamed at… every good thing I try to do frowned at… no matter what I do I always do something wrong… even if I never did anything wrong… save a village from my robots people run and scream… I save an island from invading birds and they disown me… Turned on my robots after they think I destroyed the planet when I never did and I'm still the villain. Hated for the things I've done in the past." Tails covered his face with his hands and began to weep. Wave watched with confusion "The past is the past and I can't change it. I'm not the same person those years ago… why must you judge me for that?" He looked at her with those teary blue eyes. Wave could only look away "I know what I did to you was just… completely wrong but I am truly sorry. When you're going super fast on your board can you aim so accurately with blurs everywhere?" Wave blinked "L-l-look… It really hurts… hurts so much when you just judge me for what I accidently have done and then ignore any good I do… why must you see me so negatively? Why must you judge me so? I only want to make everything right again… and…" Tails whimpers and shuts his eyes "… and I can't ever do it!" Tails turned away and began sobbing.

Wave looked back at him blinking furiously. She was so lost at the moment. Her emotions were everywhere: guilt, hurt, pity, but none of it anger or spite that she usually carried for the fox. The swallow uncrossed her arms and began tapping her beak in thought. She stepped up and grabbed Tails' shoulder "Shorty." The fox stiffened and his sobbing stopped, his sniffing however continued. The bird grimaced as she tried to force the words out "I-I'm sorry."

Tails gasped and turned around "Wh-what?"

Wave released his shoulder and stepped back throwing her arms in the air "I said I'm sorry, okay! Don't let it get to your head!"

Tails smiled a bit and closed his eyes "It's okay. I won't… just… thank you."

"For what?" The bird replied bewildered.

"For understanding me… it means more than you think." He looked at her, tears no longer filling his eyes.

She looked away not able to handle looking into the now joyful irises that use to hold so much pain "Like I said. Don't let it get to your head!"

The fox only giggled at that and nodded "I won't… Friends?" He held out a hand.

Wave glanced at it in suspicion and then up at the fox. His smile fell slightly and he began making an awkward expression as he tried to hold the smile. The bird sighed and took his hand "More like mutual acquaintances working together under certain circumstances."

Tails nodded "I can work with that. What did you need?"

"I was sent here because Anonymous thought you could use a second brain since you probably cannot think of any weaknesses on your own against your own creation."

Tails ears fell "well… yah, but what weaknesses could I have overlooked? I spent years looking for some so I could make it impervious to such a thing. I mean, I made it so being upside-down will do nothing."

Wave batted his shoulder as she walked past him "Please. Even as smart as you are not a single person can think of everything. There has to be something you overlooked." She looked at the giant robot, studying it as best as she could.

Tails grabbed his head "I can't think of anything!"

Wave sighed "If you couldn't think of any more weaknesses then how could you now? This is why I'm here. Run me through a list."

"Well the best way is to get inside, but I don't know how to get in. It won't let me in thinking I'm mind-controlled by Sonic, you can't teleport inside it because it's using the Master Emerald to combat it, full force won't work because of the Master Emerald again, the crack on its back is gone, and there is no sneaking up on it without it detecting you. It hasn't spotted me because I'm far enough away."

Wave looked at the robot thoughtfully "Let's try not to think about everything about it at once, let's try something more specific."

Tails sat down and massaged his head "Like what?"

Wave looked at the robot as it threw Blaze away "What about the head? It seems thinner… The mouth! What about its mouth?!" Wave spun around excitedly.

Tails froze "That won't work, its mouth is the most dangerous part of it. Even if you get passed its defenses there are powerful blades inside that would tear you up."

Wave walked up to him pointing a finger at him "But is it a weakness?"

Tails began to mumble "Well… if you can get past the blades you will get to the control station in the head. That would be the easiest part of it to break through… but-."

"No 'buts' it's our best option and it is an actual weakness."

Tails grabbed his face "You're right. You're right." He stood and began rotating his tails "I need to tell Sonic then." He leapt up and began to fly up to it as Wave watched.

The fox leapt up; rising and rising… and then stopped. What was that noise? Destructor suddenly began making a whirring noise and it was getting louder and louder. Tails' eyes widened "Oh no."

The massive monster then made a loud bang and the creature roared as it threw its head down. Tails frantically began to wave his arms in pure panic "IT JUST DOWNLOADED SOMETHING NEW! WATCH OUT!"

Blaze turned around and spotted him before looking back at Knuckles and flying away from him. Suddenly his golden hue began to be pulled from him and up into the chains. Tails froze as he continued to stare "That's impossible." Knuckles' super form then disappeared and he was tossed away onto the ground.

Tails remained there in shock, his tails beginning to slow down and he began to descend to the ground. Wave jumped up, grabbed the fox's foot, pulled him to the ground, and shoved him onto a stone to sit "What the heck was that?"

"It used… It"

Wave slapped him and the fox grabbed his stinging cheek looking at her in surprise. "What did it do?"

"I-I had a theory that since the Master Emerald could control the chaos emeralds and turn them off, if I could get someone in super form to touch it I could drain their form away and make them normal again. If it can touch them it will drain their powers away."

Wave blinked "Great."

They both looked up in time to see Shadow lose control after being hit by energy. Then he teleported before being grabbed only to be grabbed anyways "Oh… well this is just getting BETTER!" Tails leapt off his stone and kicked it "It downloaded chaos energy manipulation. It can see the energy so it can see where they will teleport and if its blasts hit them they'll lose control temporarily!" Tails grabbed his head "This is terrible."

Wave stumbled back into a stone "Wh-what can we do?"

Tails shrugged. They looked up and saw Blaze pushing Sonic out of the way and got grabbed by its tail. "No!" Tails stepped forward but stopped "It's not doing anything…" he smiled and threw a fist in the air "YES! She's using the sol emeralds. They don't use the same energy the Master Emerald has so it cannot control her! We have a chance!"

Suddenly the tail smashes her into the ground and stomps on her with its foot right in front of Tails and Wave as they stared in horror. It lifted its foot and the spotted Blaze shaking in pain and looking at them. Just as she was about to get up it stomped again and the two watched as her arm, the only thing visible, goes limp. Its foot rose again and her super form disappears. The fox blinked and then widened his eyes "NO!" He dashed forward, grabbed Blaze, and pulled her right next to Wave just as its foot smashed into the ground again. It then stood on its hind legs and grabbed Sonic.

Tails grabbed his head "Ohhhhhh- this is bad- this is bad!"

Wave could only watch. Destructor separated its 'hands' to reveal a stuck blue hedgehog. They then watched as its mouth open and a giant blast began to from. Then it fired and shot the hero off and away. Wave blinked and pointed "Y-you're right. The mouth is really dangerous."

Tails dashed off into that direction. Wave ran, grabbed Storm's board, and followed by blasting after him. Tails could not remember running off or even using his Tails to blast himself forward. He could only think about Sonic and the amount of danger he was in.

The fox cleared the dust and ash looking around worried. He then spotted Sonic laying on the ground his super form fading in and out. Tails dashed over to him and picked up his head "Sonic!"

Wave came zooming in and hopped off her board off her board. She stopped seeing Tails right there holding Sonic and crying. She then heard him speak in a cracked voice "Just hold on… Just hold on."

She covered her mouth as she watched. She could not here Sonic but she watched as he reached up and grabbed Tails. The fox suddenly tried to get out of his grasp "Sonic – SONIC NO!" Tails slowly began to glow. The swallow then realized what happened. Sonic just transferred his super form to Tails and now the fox was the only one able to fight Destructor now.

Sonic then went limp and his breathing ceased. Wave stumbled back nearly falling over. Sonic the hedgehog, hero of Mobius, is now gone. Tails raised a fist which began to glow brighter than normal. Then the small fox slammed the hedgehog's chest and the hedgehog began coughing but did not get up.

Wave sighed but froze when there was a stomp and a roar. She turned to see Destructor right there staring at Tails. The fox got up and faced his old creation "You're not going near him! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO KILL HIM!" Wave looked at Tails in surprise. Was he really challenging the thing that just took down five people in their super form? The fox took a step back and tossed his coat off him and onto the ground. "Now you're going to fight ME!"

The robot stared at him for the longest then lowered its head and growled. Tails jumped up and flew up into the sky ready for a fight. He had no idea how he was going to defeat the very robot he created to be undefeatable. The fox flew right at it and teleported behind it and continued. Its tail nearly smashed right into him. The fox flew up and looked at it with panic all over him. What can he do against the strength of the Master Emerald. It's like ten times stronger than the chaos emeralds combined; he was too weak to fight it equally.

Tails blasted away drawing it away from Sonic and it roared at him. It was probably very hesitant to harm Tails because he was its master, but soon it will muster the courage to actually harm him. The fox flew over the forest and turned to make sure it was still following him. It was not, in fact, it was not even behind him anymore. The fox stopped and looked around in confusion, but then his mind flashed him a warning and he remembered… it can cloak itself. The fox tried to fly away but shouted as something hard grabbed him. Slowly the robot came into view and it was growling at him. The fox watched as its tail revealed to be the thing grabbing him. The fox tried to pry himself from its grip before it did what he knew it was going to do. He could feel it beginning to drain the power from him and there was nothing he could do.

There was a sudden flash and a laser exploded into the tail forcing the robot to release the fox and roar. It turned to look at its attacker. Tails looked too and smiled. Right through the trees that were destroyed by the laser was the Eggcarrier and right on top was Eggman holding his glasses he used to find out who Alpha One really was. That must have been how ho aimed that giant cannon he used, otherwise he could not have seen through the trees.

Eggman turned and pointed at the ground "HURRY! RELOAD. USE UP ALL THAT CHAOS EMERALD IF WE HAVE TO!" The entire army of terrorists pushing a giant rotating lever that was connected to a strange device that held Silver's chaos emerald from the future. Those not pushing and pulling the giant lever were there tweaking the Eggcarier. One of the terrorists pointed at the robot and shouted "FIRE!"

The entire side facing Destructor fired and a wave of missiles blasted out and at the robot. The giant leapt up as it was struck deafening everyone with a deafening bellow of anger. The entire army began to work quickly to refill the weapons. Eggman then pointed and shouted "FIRE!" the canon blasted at the robot once more.

Destructor dodged to the side and opened its mouth to fire. Tails lifted his hand and the blast Eggman fired suddenly curved. Tails then directed it right back and struck the robot on the back. It stopped and turned to face him. The fox then began to fly back a bit. He figured he could control it since it was made of chaos energy and he was able to change the direction of another chaos energy blast he used against Sonic.

The fox decided it was time. He had to try going into its mouth like Wave said. He flew right at it and the robot watched. He flew right into it. He spotted the glass and the insides to the control room. His heart began to beat fast. He was going to make it. Suddenly blades came out and batted him. He felt his body begin to be batted around and slashed. He was even grabbed by the blades and rotated all around its neck. Suddenly there was a blast and he was thrust out and smashed into a clearing.

The fox moaned and pushed himself off the ground. He turned to see Destructor's mouth starting to glow green. It was charging up the Master Emerald. It was going to blast him with its energy… wait… maybe he could use it to his advantage. That is the full force of the Master Emerald so his power level was too weak for him to control it but... if it can take it could give.

The blast shot across the air and slammed into the fox. Eggman stiffened "TAILS!"

The blast stopped but the whole area began to glow a strange color. The genius fox stood and instead of a golden form he was shining in rainbow colors. Destructor reeled its head back in surprise. Tails stood tall and looked at himself in awe. It worked. "I knew it!" He shouted. He blasted up and right into the face of his robot in speeds he could barley control "You may be able to take energy because of the Master Emerald, but you forget the Master Emerald powers the chaos emeralds as well. If it can power the emeralds it can also super charge them." Tails floated back and did a little bow with his arms outstretched "You're looking at all seven chaos emeralds charged to Master Emerald level." He straightened up and pointed at it "You were ten times stronger than me-," he then pointed at himself "-But now I'm seven times stronger than you." The fox pulled a fist back and threw it at the robot. It connected to its chin. After a giant explosion that shook the entire planet Destructor was thrown up and flipping through the air.

Tails smiled in victory. Now there was nothing Destructor could do for a change. For once, there was something stronger than it for once. He heard as giant eruption of cheers were heard. The fox turned to see the entire army and Eggman were hopping up and down. Eggman even cupped his mouth and shouted "GO KICK THAT ROBOT INTO DUST, TAILS!"

The fox nodded and fired off after the robot. Destructor landed and began to roll around in uncontrollable frenzy. Blaze just woke up and looked around. How did she get here? This was where she saw Tails and that swallow. She heard banging and turned to see that giant robot beginning to roll toward her. She screamed and jumped up. There was a giant flash of rainbow and Tails was there and raised a hand. The robot struck the hand and instantly stopped.

Blaze blinked in shock at the fox's appearance and sudden strength. Even in her super form she could not do that. The fox then flicked causing the robot to fly back. Tails then landed and turned to Blaze "Blaze, you okay?"

The cat blinked "Wha-bu-wha the? How?"

Tails shyly smiled and rubbed his head "I don't think I have time to explain."

"Tails?" the fox turned to see Silver, Knuckles, and Shadow staring at him in disbelief. Silver blinked "What form is that?"

Shadow pointed "LOOK OUT!"

Tails spun to see Destructor firing a blast from its mouth. Tails pulled an arm back and threw it forward sending a rainbow blast. It struck his robot's and blasted through it like it was not even there. It struck the robot causing an explosion. The smoke cleared to see the robot in shambles as if it should have been destroyed.

Silver's and Blaze's mouth hung open in shock while Shadow and Knuckles stared in shock "How are you that powerful?" Knuckles cut the silence.

Tails ignored him and growled as the robot began repairing itself and in seconds was complete again "I forgot about that trick." Remember what Wave told him he stepped back and shouted "OPEN WIDE BIG MOUTH!"

The robot stood up and roared. The fox shot forward and before the robot had time to react broke through the glass. He landed on the inside and turned around pressing multiple buttons. "Let's see how much chaos energy you can absorb from the Master Emerald before your head literately explodes." Tails hit the last button and flew out. He zoomed behind it. He grabbed its tail and threw it. The monstrous creature flew over and crashed near the crater it crawled out of. Tails landed right in front of it and crossed his arms smugly. Blasts fired from his eyes and struck its head and then its entire head detonated. This time when the smoke cleared it held no head.

Tails huffed "Without that control station that thing can never function again. You've lost Alpha Omega One."

Tails turned to face the damaged robot limping toward him "What have you done?"

"Destroyed that monstrous being for good."

The Alpha robot then pointed at the fox "Whatever that war-hog did to you… he will pay!"

Tails felt the anger rise inside of him. He appeared right in front of him, grabbed him by the neck, and brought him close to his face "No you won't!" He then turned and tossed his old creation. Alpha One tore through sky and smashed right through the armor of the destroyed 'undefeatable' mechanism. The remains shook violently and to end it all the fox used both arms to fire a blast. The entire body collapsed inward and fell into the canon.

The fox's eyes widened "Oh shoot. I probably shouldn't have done that." That robot was about to explode entirely. Since it was so gigantic the blast could decimate everything within a hundred miles.

Tails had to think fast. He raised his arms and fired something new: a shield. The shield quickly spread out across the entire canyon just as the flames and burst soared into the sky only to be stopped by Tails. The fox hands shook violently as he tried to hold the blast. The ground began to shake from the pressure building up. Miles had to release the pressure slowly so as to prevent the destruction… unless…

Tails lifted his shield to rise into the sky. The blast quickly followed. Once it was high enough the fox released the top and the blast quickly shot up into the sky. The fire stretched across the sky until it outshined the sun above. Tails placed a hand over his eyes to shade them from the sight and as it disappeared he looked to see so much smoke the entire sky was dark. The fox sighed and fell into a sitting position.

With Sonic

Sonic continued to lay on the ground still unconscious. Wave was kneeling over his body looking at it up and down. She could see no way Sonic could be seriously injured. When Tails hit him with that energy it must have healed everything. Though she could not see the energy any more, but she searched for a sign that it use to be there. The swallow felt the ground start shaking. Fire suddenly began growing as a pillar to the sky. It was then released and flew across the sky. The bird had to turn away and lift her arm to clock out the raging fires. When it was over she looked up to see only smoke across the sky.

She blinked and smiled "Shorty destroyed that thing then. It's over then."

"Wave?"

She turned to see Silver flying in with Shadow, Knuckles, and Blaze. The cat was shocked to see Sonic lying on the ground "Sonic! What happened?"

Wave took a step back and raised her arms "After you went down Destructor got Sonic, but instead of taking his energy it used all the energy it stole from you three combined with the Master Emerald to hit him. He died."

Shadow stepped forward "How is he still breathing?"

"Tails-."

"Is Sonic alright?" All turned to see Tails lowering to the ground in his new form with the Master Emerald in his hands.

"What the heck! How are you-? Yah Sonic 's fine. What happened?"

Tails smiled calmly and pointed at his coat after tossing Knuckles his powerful, giant gem "Could you?" Wave looked down spotted the accessory. She picked it up and tossed it to the fox. Tails caught it with a smile that seemed to be masking something to the bird but before she could say anything Tails answered her previous question "I destroyed Destructor… by going into its mouth."

"Is that how you look like that?"

"Heh, no." Tails looked down at himself and closed his eyes. With a slow exhaling of breath the glow faded away and his normal fur was seen once more. The smart fox then put on his coat "I got it by absorbing the energy from the Master Emerald."

Knuckles blinked "What? When could it do that?"

"Well… it could take away powers from it. Why not give it more energy until it reached Master Emerald status. So when it used the Master Emerald to perform a blast I let it consume me and took its energy. It gave me even more energy and then I was powered by seven small Master Emeralds."

"The Master Emerald could power up the chaos emeralds that way?" Knuckles asked disbelievingly.

"Yep. Thanks to that I was seven times stronger than Destructor. Reason I could simply punch him over a few miles away."

"I didn't know that."

Wave scoffed "So you had so much energy you could defeat the 'undefeatable'. What cha going to call it? The Hyper Form?" Wave then threw her arms out mockingly "You had so much energy you were 'hyper'."

Tails cocked a brow "You mock but that name does not sound bad."

Wave's smile fell and she crossed her arms "Don't patronize me!"

"I wasn't."

Blaze suddenly stormed up and slammed a finger onto the fox's chest making him stumble back. "You have some nerve fox."

"What?"

"I'm hearing that you killed Sonic, then you play this…" She threw her arms out angrily "Fiasco and play the hero? You are such a… there is no possible word capable of describing how…" Blaze could not finish. She only pulled a fist back and punched the fox onto the ground.

Silver glared at her "HEY!"

Knuckles huffed out a laugh, but Shadow stared at Blaze with what looked like contempt "That was unnecessary!"

Blaze glared at him "Unnecessary? Look what he has done!"

"Looks like he saved the planet to me."

"THEN WHY DID HE KILL SONIC? WHY IS IT NOW OUT OF ALL THE OTHER TIMES HE'S 'STUDIED' THE CHAOS EMERALDS HE FINDS A FORM MORE POWERFUL THAN SUPER FORM?"

"First of all Wave never said Tails killed Sonic! She was explaining why Sonic was still alive before being interupted and second we figured the most powerful form WAS the super form! Why would he suspect an even stronger form? No answer? THEN BACK! OFF!" the two stared at each other with spite almost like a stare down "Besides… I want to hear the whole story before passing judgment. Tails?" He turned to see the fox walking off toward a cliff edge.

Blaze growled and stormed off to follow "Oh no you don't! I'm not through with you!"

Shadow shook his head but followed while Wave jogged off after her shouting "Come on, that's enough catty!"

Silver was about to follow but a hand came up and he turned to see Anonymous along with Lee, Alber, Deen, Nike, Ralph, Amy, Cream and Cheese, Jet, Storm, and the entire Coconut Crew "You need to find Eggman and Sally. They might need your help."

"But-."

"Just go. I will take care of this." Anonymous then ran off after the group. Silver only blinked in response and took off toward the Eggcarrier.

Tails felt as the tears began to soar down his checks. He just had enough of this torment. He stopped at the cliff edge and looked down. He had flashbacks to when he looked down at the sea to the sharp rocks. The first day he actually flew… hovered actually. Tails heard risen voices and he turned to see Wave having a row with Blaze "He brought Sonic back to life, 'your highness'! He saved Sonic's life, he saved everyone! He does not need this… baloney from you!"

Blaze growled "You expect me to believe that?"

"You can hardly argue cat! You weren't there!" Shadow butted in.

"Neither were you!"

"Yes, but I'm not the one acting like a lunatic and passing judgment where it might not even be due! I don't know Tails well, but I doubt he's this heartless freak everyone keeps making him out to be!"

"This is MY world and HE brought them here only to destroy everything!"

Wave jumped in front of Blaze "Well here's another thing, catty! When you passed out from that giant's foot Tails ran in and grabbed you to pull you out just in time because IT'S FOOT… nearly crushed you! You would have died if it were not for him!"

"DON'T CALL ME, 'CATTY'!"

Tails sniffed and looked down the cliff "What is going on?" Everyone turned to see Anonymous standing there.

Tails nodded "Yah… just fine." He had no idea who this person was.

The man walked up to the fox and grabbed his shoulder "You sure?"

The fox flinched at the touch, his shoulder stung. "Yah… h-how about Sonic? Did you check him?"

"He seemed fine." He replied in a monotone.

"He-he still hasn't woken up. Could you check on him to be sure?"

Anonymous turned to look at the unconscious hero that seemed very small at this distance. He turned back and nodded "Sure." He then spun around and marched away like a soldier finnaly letting go of the fox's shoulder.

Tails sighed. The last thing he needed was someone like that to make him rethink what he was about to do. He took out his bracelet objects and attached them to his pair of tails. The two then snapped together making it near impossible for Tails to move them. The fox then looked at the group as they continued to fight: one attacking Tails, one defending, and the other trying to be understanding to the situation before doing either.

Smiled lightly and turned. There it was. A 4.0 walking along side the cliff edge just as he hoped. Tails turned to the group his eyes empty, his smile there, and his body relaxed. This time… his tails will not save him.

He spotted the strange man in armor helping Sonic up and then looking at him. Even though his mask prevented the fox from seeing his expression he just knew the man figured out what was about to happen. The man suddenly jumped forward all the while causing Sonic to fall back down and began to dash toward him at speeds he did not think the man had. The man pointed at him and with a raised voice from what sounded like a microphone still in a monotone boomed out "TAILS."

The group arguing stopped and turned to see the man running at them. Then they looked at Tails. The fox smiled at them and with a tear falling from his face he waved and whispered "Good-bye." Then he fell back.

Wave figured out what those cuffs, not bracelets, were when she first saw them, and in that moment it clicked with her. She leapt forward with an out stretched arm as the fox fell back. She missed. As she landed she tired sweeping her other arm to grab the fox's foot, but again… missed. "TAILS?!"

The 4.0 below heard the name and looked up. Right there falling to the ground was its master. The robot zoomed forward running s fast as it could. Wave heard the echoes of footsteps and saw the robot. She prayed that it would actually catch him in time. The 4.0 was dove forward and with an outstretched arm caught the fox in its hand and landed on the ground creating a path of crumbled destruction in its hurried attempt of rescue.

"TAILS!" the group turned to see Sonic now blasting at them. They got out of the way and the hero dove down the cliff. He landed and rolled forward and jumped to his feet. He then stared as the robot opened its hand to show the fox… not breathing. The 4.0 then scanned the body and then its head bowed. Gently placing the fox down the robot turned and began to walk away.

The hero ran to Tails and grabbed him "no-no-no-no! That is not what I think it means! That is NOT what I think it means!" He felt for a pulse. There was none. He checked for breathing. None. He even placed his ear against the fox's chest… nothing. He sat up and sobbed "Tails."

The hero then flinched as an unexpected flash of an explosion appeared right before him and the 4.0 blew up into debris. All around the world every robot began to explode into shards and pieces none was left standing or functioning. Sonic watched all the explosions in surprise. What was happening?

Something landed right behind him and he turned still clutching Tails to see Anonymous walking up to him "He did it then. He tricked the system."

"How can you be so… so relaxed about this?! He's dead!"

"That is what it appears to be."

Sonic lowered the fox's body unable to look at it any more. Anonymous walked up to it and picked it up. He turned, fired a grapple and zoomed up the cliff and next to the three watching above. Once he reached there Wave looked at him "Is he… alright?"

Anonymous laid the body on the ground and placed a hand on the fox's head "Rest now, Tails. Be happy your plan worked."

Wave covered her mouth and backed up. Blaze however shook her head "What?"

Sonic then appeared right next to her as Anonymous answered "He planned for his death here. He recently added a program where if any robot was to be the reason he loses all signs of life every robot created would self destruct. At first I thought he did that because I proved to be a much more profound hacker than he originally thought, but those nanites must have given him the idea all along."

"Nanites?" Shadow asked.

"All a part of the fox's plan. Would you like me to explain?"

Sonic shook his head with tears in his eyes "No! I don't want to hear it!" The hero then blasted off past Ralph and the others who were rushing over to see what was wrong.

Ralph got there "Tails?!"

Wave turned to leave "Dead."

Jet blinked "How?"

Anonymous answered "He programmed his robots to self-destruct if they are at fault for his lack of vital signs."

"But… but the robot tried to save him." Blaze looked at Anonymous.

"What did the fox hit to stop his vitals?"

"The robot's hand."

"Then what technically killed him?"

"… Oh…"

"Wait a minute!" Shadow stepped up "You're being very broad!" Anonymous looked at him with a blank expression "And from what I've learned through this whole ordeal is that we should never trust your words even if they are truthful! What was your plan all along?"

Anonymous did not even move or hesitate to respond "Let me just say that I have tricked everyone here, including every robot on this planet."
