It's me, The Tiny Dangerous One. My new pen name matches other accounts I have so I don't get confused, lol. I know you guys are dying to see Leo and Khan's reunion, so I won't keep you any longer.

Leo was back to pacing her cell. It had been almost three hours since Wendy told her that Khan's pod had been beamed up and Dr. McCoy was starting the waking sequence. What was taking so long? Maybe something had gone wrong. Maybe they couldn't get Khan to wake up. Maybe Khan would never wake up. Her worrying was cut short by the hiss of the door opening. Leo spun around to see who is was and stopped dead.

There he was. Right in front of her. Escorted by half a dozen guards along with Spock and Captain Kirk. Leo couldn't move; she was frozen in place. Her eyes locked with Khan's and she saw the corners of his mouth curve into the slightest smile. The group stopped in front of Leo's cell.

"Alright, open it up and un-cuff him," Kirk ordered.

One of the guards took off Khan's cuffs while another opened the cell door. The two Augments never looked away from each other. Once the cell was open, Leo launched herself at Khan. Everyone else in the room readied their phasers, expecting an attack. Instead, Leo threw her arms around Khan's neck, causing the taller Augment to have to take a couple of steps back to balance out the force of her tackle.

Khan wrapped one arm around the small of her back and his other hand cradled the base of her skull. He held her tightly, as if he still couldn't believe that she was really there in his arms again. Everyone else in the room was in shock. Kirk's jaw almost hit the floor. He wasn't sure what he expected Khan to do, but he certainly didn't expect such a display of affection.

"God I missed you," Leo murmured into Khan's shoulder.

"I missed you as well," he replied, holding her even tighter. After another moment, Khan pulled away and rested his forehead against hers. Kirk cleared his throat.

"I hate to break up this little reunion, but you need to step all the way into the cell," he said.

Khan looked over his shoulder at the captain and nodded. He lead Leo farther into the cell, and the two lovers never broke eye contact as the cell door closed.

Khan leaned against the wall as he sat on the bunk. Leo had climbed into his lap and rested her head against his chest. The two usually didn't show such obvious displays of affection in front of other people but, right now, neither of them cared. They sat in silence for a long time. Khan was the one to break the silence.

"You spent six weeks locked up in this cell?" he asked her while massaging the back of her neck.

"Uh huh," Leo replied lazily.

"And you never left at all?"

"Nope."

Khan looked down at her quizzically, "How on earth are you still sane?"

"I have no idea."

Khan chuckled and Leo closed her eyes to relish the sound and the way it reverberated in his chest. Another few moments of silence passed.

"You've lost weight," Khan observed.

"Must be from the cryo sleep," Leo murmured.

Khan paused, glancing down at the top of her head. Leo grumbled when he stopped massaging her neck.

"Did you honestly think I would believe that?" he asked.

"It was worth a try," she shrugged.

"You've lost at least ten pounds," Khan pressed.

At that moment, Wendy entered the brig, sparing Leo from having to reply. Both Augments turned their attention towards her, and Wendy was surprised by just how different they were. Leo was laid-back and approachable as usual, but Khan fixed her with a cold gaze. It was quickly becoming apparent just how protective he was of Leo. Both women ignored him. Leo got up and walked up to the glass as Wendy opened the portal.

"I found this book buried under a bunch of crap in my room," the science officer explained, holding up a paperback with a picture of a shirtless man and a woman in a Renaissance dress looking at each other in what Leo guessed was supposed to be a steamy expression.

"I didn't know you were into dime store novels," the blonde replied. Wendy shrugged.

"They're pretty entertaining in a train wreck kind of way," she replied. "Anyway, I figured that since you've read through the library twice, you'd like something new to read."

"Gotta love a good train wreck," Leo joked, taking the book.

"I'll be back in a couple of hours to take your stats," Wendy said to Leo, then turned to Khan. "You too Rambo."

The Augment leader glared at her, "Why me?"

"I want to compare your stats to Leo's. See how they stack up."

"I'm the brains, he's the brawn," Leo replied, winking at Khan. He didn't look too happy.

"How are Bonnie and Clyde doing in there?" Bones asked Wendy as she entered the med bay.

"It's weird," she replied. "Khan's supposed to be this deadly super-warrior, and he's letting Leo drape herself all over him."

"I agree it's kind of weird, but you have to remember that Khan went through some pretty crappy stuff in the year and a half he was awake," Bones said.

"Like what?" Wendy asked. She'd never been told the details of their last encounter with Khan.

"Well first, Admiral Marcus used her and the rest of his people as a way to control him," Bones counted off. "Then he tried to smuggle his people to safety in torpedoes, but ended up having to escape alone, and figured they'd all been killed. And finally, he thought she–and the rest of the human popsicles–were still in their torpedoes when they exploded on a giant ship Admiral Marcus had built for combat. It's no wonder why he's letting her climb all over him."

"Wait a minute. You let him believe that his people were still in the torpedoes when they went off?" Wendy asked.

"I mean, it was really Spock, but yea," Bones replied, trying to deflect any anger that might be coming his way.

"Well that was a dick move."

"Oh yeah," Bones agreed, nodding quickly.

"You're a shitty liar, Bones," Wendy said flatly.

"Ok, so I agreed with him," he admitted. "Just don't hit me. But more importantly, don't tell Pointy I said that."

"Sure thing," Wendy agreed, rolling her eyes. "Hey, has Leo had a full med check since she woke up?"

Dr. McCoy thought for a moment, then said, "No, she hasn't."

"We should bring her in for another check."

"Bring Khan in, too. I'd be interested to see how his stats measure up to Leo's," Bones said.

"I was thinking the same thing."

Leo flipped through the pages of The Sun Ever Rises at a rate which would be considered speed reading for normal people. She was stretched out on the floor, leaning on Khan's chest. A certain section made her pause. She tilted her head to the side and read it again.

"Hey, can we try this sometime?" she asked, holding the book up for Khan to see.

"No," he replied without bothering to look.

"Oh come on, you weren't even looking."

Khan glanced down for a brief moment, then said, "No."

"You're no fun," Leo pouted.

"Oh come now," he purred. "We both know that's not true"

Khan pressed his lips just behind her ear, making Leo shiver.

"That's not fair," she grumbled.

"All's fair in love and war," Khan murmured in her ear.

Leo closed her eyes, trying hard to keep herself from squirming. She could practically feel Khan smirking behind her. Damn him. He always knew just what to say to make her putty in his hands.

"There are people watching," she said through gritted teeth.

Khan was about to reply when Wendy walked into the brig. She was followed by half a dozen guards with phasers already out of their holsters. Leo calmly marked her place in the book and set it aside. She and Khan stood up, both of their faces passive and unreadable. Wendy noticed that Leo appeared a lot more at ease now that Khan was here.

"We haven't done a full check up on Leo since she woke up," the doctor felt the need to explain. "And Dr. McCoy and I would like to do a full work up on Khan, too."

The Augments nodded in understanding and moved toward the glass wall that was the door to their cell. The two were handcuffed without incident and the guards escorted them to the med bay.

I started the companion story to this the other day, but this story has priority, I promise. Co-writer of this story is TheWooze19. Please don't forget to review!
