"What the hell are they doing now?!" Cid cursed, jumping out of the way of a particularly nasty looking fluffball. "Do they realize we kinda need them?!"

Vincent narrowed his eyes as the wolf roared closer. "They… somethings changed."

He was right. Fenrir lurched to a stop in front of the group, a clearly changed Cloud and Lightning looking down on them..

"Just in time."

Lightning nodded, pulling off her shades as the shocked group looked the two over. Armor gone, the two now wore strange clothes that left their friends confused.

"What-?"

"No time." the shield on the woman's arm fully extended as if on its own. She pulled a large, strange red blade from her back, turning to face the army that seemed to regenerate two fold every time one soldier was felled. "We didn't miss a thing Cloud…"

"I noticed." the blonde smirked, lifting a strange blade of his own to his shoulder as his shield extended as well. The new stubble along his chin and glow in his eyes left the others wondering what had happened, but they weren't about to get an answer from the pair.

"Let's go, 'Savior'."

"Of course, 'Champion'."

The duo exchanged a smirk, charging back into the fray only to display a new strength that left the others struggling to comprehend what they were seeing. A crystal was left in place of every enemy defeated by the two, and as more fell to their blades, the stronger the two seemed to become. Without a glance at the others Vincent leapt back into battle, sniping every enemy that started for the Wolf riders. Not that they needed his help, Lightning used her magic to defend them from any that got too close for comfort.

However, even they were caught off guard by what happened next. Fenrir darted off course, heading for his sister. He leapt past her, and that's when they saw it.

Loki was hiding in the shadows just behind the battle, a twisted grin on his face as he watched the fighting continue and worsen. Jormund hissed and flicked his tongue as he reared up, wrapping himself around Cloud's friends once more. However everyone, but especially Loki, was shocked to see the snake protect the group as Hel reeled in her army. The monsters that had been fighting the skeletons vanished back into the fading chaos swarm, no longer needed. And when the swarm disappeared, Jormund slithered away, heading quickly to his sister's side with Cloud's friends now on his back.

"The two have changed the outcome of thisssss." he hissed. "They are no longer mere warriorsss of godssss. They have become equal to the godsss themsselvesss. Our father doesss not know hisss fate hass been sssealed."

Hel looked over the confused mortals as her brother slide them to the ground. "Our father has no chance to win this battle. My brother and I will return to our own world. Fa- Loki will be dealt with harsh enough without us here to be caught in it."

Cloud glanced over his shoulder at the vanishing creatures, but steeled his yellowing gaze again when he saw the frightening anger twisting the God's features.

"You idiots! Get back here and fight! I command you!"

Fenrir howled. "We are no longer under you command Trickster God!"

Lightning leapt from the wolf's back. "And they never will be again!"

Cloud grinned wickedly as he, too, leapt from his guardian's back, straight into the air to bring his blade down on the confused God. He snarled with a viciousness resembling that of a wolf, watching Loki just barely manage to evade his attack. However, his evasion lead to a severe miscalculation.

He had dodged, right into the waiting jaws of his son. Fenrir ripped his father's arm from his body, his scepter flying off elsewhere, allowing Cloud the perfect opportunity to run his sword through the wounded God's chest. Loki screeched in pain, blood free-flowing from his mouth and wounds as his suddenly delicate looking hands grabbed the top of the large broadsword.

"No!" he spat. "How could I, Loki, be defeated by you?! You're nothing but a mortal playing God!"

"No, Loki." the brunette shrieked as the sword began to twist. "I'm a human protecting my friends, my family, and everything I cherish from a man living in his own fantasy world."

Cloud jerked his sword, the blade slicing straight through the body of the green clad man, and watched his fall to his knees in the dirt. The rest of him followed soon after, and it was only a moment before the shredded God's body faded: dissolving into millions of glowing orbs that vanished into the sky. Lightning ran to his side, leaping into his arms as Fenrir bowed his head to him, fading back into the crystal.

"Thank you, Cloud, for helping free me from this curse."

"No, thank you Fenrir." his eyes returned to their normal shade as his friends dashed over, confused but overjoyed.

"Cloud! You did it!"

"Way to go Spiky!"

"Well, well, you didn't get stabbed for once!"

"I wouldn't say that…" Cloud scoffed, looking down at his side, only to pull a sharp dagger out of his skin. "But to be honest, being stabbed by Loki didn't hurt nearly as much as being impaled by Sephiroth."

A chorus of laughter made the blonde smile, his gaze turning to his pink haired lover. Lightning barely gave it a thought before she kissed him, pulling away when he began to blush wildly. But the good mood was killed in a split second when Vincent frowned.

"So, what happened to you two?"

"Oh uh," the blonde rubbed his neck. "Kinda got pulled to Light's world by the chaos."

"Apparently the time flow is very different though. We were over there for a while actually."

"Yeah." Cloud nodded. "You could say that."

"Didn't you say something about savior and champion?" Yuffie piped up.

"Don't ask." Lightning chuckled, shaking her head. "Come on, we better go make sure Edge is cleared out."

"Yeah."
