And I crash and I break down
Kagome went to her room and shut the door, her heart was racing "Stop it Kagome, just stop it, first his brother and now him, what is wrong with you!"
She was mad at herself. She could do her job, but it would take time to get use to seeing him with other women, she was not use to him with women anyway. Tomorrow she would try to avoid him, it was clear to her that he was looking.
She would not let him get to her, regardless of why he wanted to.
So the next day she did what she need to and got it done quick. Apparently Sesshomaru was making changes to the hotel. She decided to go shopping and eat out, that way she didn't have to see him. But of course fate hated her and he was in the lobby when she was getting ready to leave.
"Where are you going" He stopped her,
"Out" She didn't look at him.
"Where"
"I'm sorry I was not told I had to tell you everything"
"You are working for me"
"Then take me off the clock"
"I will not say it again miko"
"Shopping and to get lunch, is that ok with you" She snapped,
"Do not go far" He was shifting through what looked like to be mail.
"Ugh!" She left and began her shopping. Shopping always did make a girl feel better. Of course fate really hated her and she spotted Inuyasha and Kikyo, she quickly dodge that and ate some place else. The rain was off and on, the streets were dirty but she didn't go to far, it was New York.
She went to a few stores and got a text from Hojo asking her if she had been thinking about what he asked her. She did, and then she recalled what Sesshomaru said to her, which made it all worst.
"Maybe I should go look at bridal stuff, maybe that will help"
She found a cute dress shop, she just wanted to look and not be bothered, of course the over pushy women wanted to know details, dates, price range, everything and they kinda looked down on her, so that was a bad idea, she quickly left.
But not to far off from the hotel was a small jewelry store, kinda hidden but well kept with police on the outside.
She had to give her address and her Id to them before they would even let her in. Kagome walked in, it was a nice quite place and no one bothered her for the most part other than to offer her wine, which she didn't take.
"Let me know if I can help you dear" A nice tall woman stated,
"Oh, I'm just looking, thinking"
"Oh, someone proposed and you don't know what to do?" She smiled,
"Sorta"
"It's smart to come look, if you see something let me know I'll pull it out, sometimes just putting it on your hand makes things set in"
Kagome smiled and looked around.
She had been gone for 3 hours and he was getting pissed and she was not picking up her phone, didn't she know this was New York. So he went looking for her.
"This one please"
"Nice choice, it's an only one" The lady pulled out the ring Kagome picked out and handed it to her.
"It's beautiful"
"Very different"
It looked like a Victorian ring, the white gold looked old and not to glossy but it was also mixed with gold-gold and the the diamonds stood out. It was not one large one but lots of small ones, it was kinda in the shape of a dinner ring, she loved it "Can I put it put it on?"
"Sure"
Kagome slipped the ring and instantly wanted to cry, this was her ring, it fit, but the girl was right, it made everything real, she would never get this ring, never marry Hojo and never be happy with him.
"Whats wrong?" The girl looked concerned,
"It's the right ring, but wrong guy" She said softly.
Kagome looked at it up in the air on her hand for a little bit longer then she lowered it, she went to pull the ring off when her hand was grabbed. She felt him behind her and wanted to die.
Sesshomaru raised her hand and then looked at the price tag "Your boy will never be ever to afford this"
Kagome tried to pull away,
"You better start looking at silver bands" He turned her hand, it did look like a perfect fit on her, it looked like her.
"Let me go Sesshomaru" She wanted to run away,
"Day dreaming are we miko?"
"Trying to decide demon"
"And"
She snatched her hand away "I was just seeing how it felt, I don't even like the ring that much, I knew it was out of my range, but thank you for pointing it out" She snapped.
She slid the ring off and handed it back to the now sad looking girl "Miss?"
"Thank you, ill be going"
Kagome quickly left without him.
He eyed the woman "Your thoughts?"
"About what?" She backed up,
He eyed he ring "Right ring, and if your the guy, the way wrong guy"
"I am a man"
"It's one of a kind"
He plucked it from her hand and looked at it "Her male boy could never afford it" He handed it back,
"She does not hate it, I believe she likes it more than she does me" He told the girl, who was slightly confused.
Kagome raced to her room and packed her stuff, that was it.
Sesshomaru left the store with her bags, that she forgot and headed back. She never did tell him what she was going to do, and he wanted to know.
