Be Your Everything
Dinner was quite, they ate in a dark place, they drank wine. They just were. Kagome sighed as she finished dinner, watching the couples pass by in the windows, the light romantic music playing.
Sesshomaru kept his eyes on her, she paid him no mind, she didn't even notice him watching her. She had always made him think, and even now. When he first caught on that his father wanted Kagome from him, he was confused, and thought his father was dying. Sesshomaru was not fond of humans. That next day at school he watched her, really watched her, as he does now. She was charming, people adored her, and he found that verbal sparing was entertaining to him and not infuriating.
He watched her grow, saw that she could indeed be a match for him in the most odd way. When he went away he was not worried, and even ponder how to get a rise out of her when he returned. But he didn't need to, because like her he had grown to, and he noticed her blush the moment he arrived home, this would be fun, she was a challenge. But things just did not add, and she was still unsure of her self, young, immature and while he found her, cute, for a lack of a better term, she was not yet ready to be a woman, or she didn't want to be? He found himself up set at her act.
Kagome looked at him and his thoughts went away like a passing of wind. "When are you leaving?"
"Why will you miss me Ka-go-ma" He said with all seriousness.
She blushed ever so lightly then side smirked, a defensive passive move that he did not like at all. "I miss everyone"
"I am not talking about everyone"
"Sure, Ill miss you" She said it as if they were talking about cheesecake!
"Why do you do that miko?"
"Do what?"
"Pass things off as if they were nothing"
She looked confused, was she really that dumb? surely not? She folded her hand in her lap "Iv upset you?"
"You have been hanging around the half breed to long"
"What is that supposed to mean" She snapped,
He signed the check and stood up and pulled her chair out "Come"
Kagome took note of people watching them as they walked out. The streets where glossy with wetness from them being cleaned and you could hear a church bell ringing off in the distance and the clop of horses feet with the wheels of a carriage. Kagome smiled as one went by, she always meant to take a ride.
"You want to ride"
She looked at him "I was hoping to before I left, not sure I will have time"
Sesshomaru waved and one came close "You have time now"
He helped her in and got in himself, he would never admit it to her, but he like horses. "Around, anywhere" He said,
"Yes sir"
"You don't have to do this"
"I a aware of that, when will you be"
Her smile slipped and she looked away in thoughtfulness.
"What are you thinking miko"
"That the press is going to have a field day with this" She had noted a few camera men following them,
"My bride will not care for such gossip"
She looked at him, hurt in her eyes "She is perfect for you"
He rose an eyebrow,
"Your just a like, she's beautiful, tall, smart, cold"
"Are you saying I am those things?"
"Yes, you are, you are tall, you work to much and play to little, your rich, handsome, to smart, and scary sometimes"
"I scare you?"
"No, not me"
"You find me attractive"
"Who doesn't Sesshomaru"
"My money and power mean nothing to you"
"I guess Iv been around it all this time"
"You are correct"
"About what?"
"She is all those things"
Kagome looked away, she knew it, he really did like his bride to be.
"But she lacks one basic thing"
Kagome didn't look at him "Oh really, what's that"
"Your mouth"
She looked at him quickly "Did you just make a joke!"
He could not help but smirk "I do not desire her"
"Why are you getting married then?"
"Its diplomatic"
"You mean your afraid your brother will have a son before you"
Well, she was sorta right that and his mother had the bet with his dad, she owned his marriage rights if he was unable to find himself a mate.
"Tell me Kagome, would you have my child, if I asked you tomorrow"
Her first turn red and a tomato and turned away "I think you drank to much wine"
"Answer me"
"I don't know how!" She yelled, "How can I answer that!"
"Stop" He told the driver, he got down and yanked her out "Sesshomaru?" He yanked her down a path, went into a door, threw down some cash, grabbed a key and pulled her along some small stairs, that place made of old wood, a bed and breakfast style home hidden. He pushed her inside and slammed the door "I am sick of your games miko"
"You asked me a insane question!"
"I would give you children" He stated loudly,
There is was, her heat skipped a beat,
"Why is it so hard for you to answer, perhaps you are still to childish"
"Asks me a different question, anything!"
"Marry me?"
"Sesshomaru, I, I cant be your everything"
"Why"
"Because, I'm only human"
