Changing Faith
Do not feel spoiled at 2 chapters in one night. This one is a little bit shorter than the last but it was a bit dark for me to write.
Chapter 7
We continued to run, weaving in and out of trees and brush until he stopped in a clearing. One that seemed very familar to me. Along the run I had asked him if I could name him. he seemed amicable. So we decided on a name worth his majesty. Sleipnir, Odens great war horse. A creature of myth, noted for his fearlessness in battle and his untameable nature. We setteled into the clearing, fresh grass and water that ran through a stream that was setteled under a glowing pink tintied tree. Sweeping trendles of rose white that touched the water. This was the place from my visions. Seeds setteling down from the ethereal tree, once again kissing my skin with light feather like caresses. Slei, laid down in the tall grass next to the cool water and I couldn't help but join him as a wave of tiredness fell over me. I slipped easily into sleep but I didn't go back like I had expected to. A soft humming woke me form my sleep, only for me to open my eyes to that humid summer haze. There she was, just as ageless as she had always been, sitting next to the water. She looked up and smiled at me as she moved to my side. She didnt say a word, just continued to hum the tune. It was like a half forgotten memory, pulling a feeling of contentedness from deep within my soul. She was braiding a section on my hair and tied it with a painted feather. "Time to wake up child" she whispered as I was jolted awake by a swift kick to my side. A strangled gasp was ripped from my lips as I tryed to take in breath. My eyes flaired open to see red beads and amber eyes. Still strugling for breath I was forced into standing by a set of hands not familar to me.
Bindings were once again applyed to my hands, and before my feet could be bound Slei stomped into my personal space and essentally demanded that the treatment be stopped. He knelt again and I climbed on before anyone could stop me, he would keep me safe. Slei made the bond with me, searching out my Que as my hands were bound behind me. Guards were all around me. Tsu'tey's hunting party apparently turned into a head hunting party. Soul seeds settled on me as we left the clearing, resting on Sleipnir's back and head, tangleing with my loose hair and trailing behind the now nervous group of hunters. Still Tsu'tey marched on, a harsh frown locked firmly to his face. Things started to get a bit fuzzy as thick warm liquid started to drip from the tearing bandages on my back, colouring brightly against Slei's dark patterned skin. I lurched foreward onto the sail that arked gracefully over his long neck. Startled noises started to come from around me, shouts and out crys of fear. I managed to open my eyes once again long enough to notice that we were back in the shelter of Hometree. A halo of white surounded me now, I had picked up passing Soul seeds along the way.
Sleipnir kneeled down as gently as he could, until he was finally laying on his stomach. Sill I lurched dangerously from side to side as he did. My blood now settling into the tan dirt floor infront of the fire. Mo'at was enraged. My bandages had ripped and were falling to the floor, the entire community seeing the damage and knowing just how I was marked. Not many had these scars and lived. Mo'at moved to help me stand, as I had managed to slide of Slei's back and onto the floor. I gently shook off her hand, as my binds were cut away, reveiling only more brusing. I didn't see Jake among the grouping, Neytiri either, they must have been else where. I stood straight, no matter how much it hurt or how much blood I had lost already, unwilling to look away from the man who had done this to me. I took steps towards him, refusing to be unnerved by his stare. My hand settling on my thigh, blocking a stream of blood. Red foot prints were left in my wake as the people took further steps back away from me as I passed.
Finally I reached him, seeds still hovering around me like an arua of white. A voice that was mine, yet not, came foreward, "You are not a cruel man Tsu'tey. However you in this moment are jealous and hateful for reasons that are unknown to me. I have done nothing wrong, only followed the path layed out before me." breath was begining to be a struggle but I continued, blood begingin to pool at my feet. My eyes were fuzzy and I could only see outlines as my voice became more gravely. "In this moment when you wish nothing but my death, I will forgive you, I can forgive any mistreatment." my blood stained hand raised to his chest and placed itself over his heart without my volition. A gasp rippled through the crowd. "My blood has been spilt in innocence. It lies now upon your heart, a cruelty committed and a dept to be paid. You are bound to this Tsu'tey, it is Eywa's will." at this point I couldn't see or hear much of anything, a flash of white was the last thing I saw as I collapsed foreward into him. The light feeling of arms around my waist and a tickle of seeds on my skin, the brush of a feather across my face and the clacking of beads. Darkness was all I knew.
Lost in the sea of the void, so much like the place of Her own birth. Endless empty darkness. A soft sound started, a buzzing that followed a tune. It was familiar, foggy in the memory. It was humming, a song my grandmother used to sing. So old that the words had long since crumbled into dust as the language died. Holding only the sting of sounds that kept it alive. I ran toward the sound as fast as my feet could take me. Still nothing but the void, the sound faded out softly, followed by the tinkling laughter of a fine glass bell. The language of the people, a murmer of a chant that grew louder and more distinctive. A voice as soft as water sounded out from the darkness, " its time now my child, you have journeyed far enough. Ease your troubles now my love, for you are finally home with me. Go and live the life I ment for you, My Daughter." Colour, as far as the eye could see. Bright swirling masses of light, a rainbow hurricane behind my eyes. And a tugging feeling, like being pulled through a key hole, and a single monotone continuous beep. Then it was dark again, soft white light through cyan eyelids.
