A/N: Hello again!
With Sanji's words in mind, Luffy is at a crossroads of sorts. He may need a bit of professional help to get him through it, or at least as close to it as he can get.
I do not own One Piece, It belongs to Eiichiro Oda
When Luffy got back to Whole Cake Island, he started thinking about everything he has heard over the course of the day. Bege and Sanji's words swirled around in his head. As much as he hated the thought of what Bege was saying, he might be right about Big Mom and this whole situation. Even for how dense Luffy was, he knew enough about Big Mom to know she definitely would not just let this go. But to kill her? He could do it, he would not want to, but he could. He knew he could, he was sure of it. But not only would make enemies out of the Big Mom Pirates, who he still hopes to befriend, it would crush Galette. He did not want to see that, let alone be responsible for it. Which of course reminded him of what Sanji said. He could not let his crew mate down, he put a lot of his value in the trust his crew could put back in him. He was running out of time and he told Sanji he would make a decision and stick to it for his and Galette's sake. He would need to make a decision and come up with a plan, and fast. Faster than fast. Luffy could not think, he could not find another way out. Was this the power of an Emperor's influence? He had been thinking about that "way out" since he talked with Galette, he told her he would find a way to get what they both wanted, but right now there were exactly and exclusively two options. Either Galette gets what she wants, Big Mom gets her way, and they are married. Or, Luffy tries his luck at assassinating Big Mom and running, devastating Galette (and likely making an enemy out of her), and Luffy gets out of the marriage. This situation is less than ideal, but Luffy cannot seem to shake that "mystery feeling" that he keeps feeling, either. He cannot explain it, and he cannot pinpoint why it makes him feel this way, but it makes him want the marriage to go through. Why are feelings so damn complicated?! Why can it not be more like fighting someone, where all you needed was to punch stuff! He could over throw a devious dictator and save a country (twice), but he could not even figure out his own feelings! He needed help, someone who understood complicated stuff, someone who was "in-touch" with their feelings! It hit him, he does know someone like that! Well, he knows two people that together, could do both things.
When he arrived back at the castle, he bolted for the door of the room the ones he believes can help him, and knocks on the door over and over and over. The door swings open and he catches a fist to the back of the head immediately.
"LUFFY! QUIT KNOCKING! I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME!" Nami shouts from the inside the room.
"Sorry…I just needed to talk with you and Robin about something important.!" Luffy protests. The anger in on her face disappears,
"Really? Well, okay…come on in." Nami says, opening the door wider to let him in. When he walks in, he sees Robin reading one of her books in the corner, and she looks up at him and gives him a small smile when she notices him out of the corner of her eye.
"Hello Captain.!" Robin says as Luffy enters the room. There is still someone he was expecting to see in the room, though.
"Hey, where's Alvida, anyway? Isn't she staying in here with you guys?" Luffy asks, not seeing her anywhere.
"Don't know, she left a few hours ago. Why? Did you need to talk to her too?" Nami answers.
"Nah, just wondering." Luffy replies as he takes a seat at the table in their room. Robin marks her book and puts it down while Nami closes the door behind her and sits on the bed to listen.
"What's on your mind, Luffy?" Nami asks him as he seems to wriggle around in his seat a bit, a telltale sign of his nerves acting up. It is a sight to behold, neither Nami nor Robin have really seen Luffy nervous about anything, so it must be some sort of important dilemma.
"Well, you guys are both really smart, and you know a lot about how people and emotions and stuff works, so I was hoping you guys could help me understand this 'mystery feeling' I've been trying to figure out." Luffy confesses. Nami seems quite pleased with Luffy's description of her, as does Robin, but she seems more interested in finding out what Luffy's so called "mystery feeling" is.
"Well, why don't you describe it, and we'll see what we can do to help." Robin requests. Luffy nods his head and complies with an expression that is both serious and as close to embarrassed as he probably is capable of feeling.
"Okay, well I don't know where it came from or when I started feeling it, but I think it was during the Tea Party or around that time? But it didn't feel like it does now back then. It makes me feel like…I want to help someone, even though what they want isn't what I want. But…even then, the feeling makes me want I don't want, too.! Argh, it's so confusing!" Luffy says in frustration. Robin has a pretty good theory already, one that she cannot help but smile at, but remains silent for now. Nami already has an idea of her own, as well.
"So it's a feeling that came about because of a person, yes?" Nami asks. Luffy confirms, so Robin goes with her next inquiry.
"Admittedly, you do a lot of crazy things for other people, and I cannot imagine you enjoy every single one of those things, Luffy. However, you say it also makes you want to do it, even though you are against it?" Robin adds.
"Uh-huh!" Luffy says, hoping she really has figured it out now. Both are pretty confident in their theory by now, and Nami throws in her two cents.
"That sounds like love to me." She says confidently with a smile.
"Indeed. You have a large capacity for love in you, Luffy. You show all of us your love quite often, but I believe what you are feeling is an advanced and very specific form of it." Robin adds. Both girls figured out pretty much immediately who it is directed to, but they both send a knowing look and decide not to say it outright, even if it is obvious.
"Oh? Are you sure? I guess it does kinda feel familiar…But it's putting me in a bad situation! What should I do? My head can't seem decide what it wants! Do I want to do it or not?! I don't know.!" He says. Nami chimes in to try to put her Captain at ease,
"I can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but I think you should just do what you normally do. Follow your heart, your gut! Do what the feeling tells you if you think it's right." She says.
"Mmhmm, I think you should just take some time to understand it and follow the instinct in you." Robin concurs. Luffy actually looks assured, nodding to himself and a smile gracing his lips,
"Okay, I'll do that! Thanks you two! You're both the best!" Luffy says as he stands up, the wraps them both of them up in a quick hug before rushing out of the room. As he leaves, Nami cannot help but laugh,
"Haha.! Can you believe it, that goofball finally found love, huh?" Nami says with a fond grin. Robin chuckles,
"I suspected, but honestly, who would've thought? How adorable.!" She adds.
A/N: It looks like Luffy has come to a conclusion, relatively quickly for the rather dimwitted pirate, I must say (though not without some help, of course. It wouldn't be One Piece without some guidance from his crew). Now that he has decided to follow his heart, the question still remains, what truly is his heart telling him? Is it love, or will his self-preservation instincts kick in once and for all? And finally, the wishy-washy "arc" can come to a close, and Luffy finally has figured out enough about himself to decide how he can still come out a winner, but how exactly will he have his cake and eat it too? All I can say for now is that we'll be getting that big revelation next time. Until then, don't forget to Follow, Favorite, and Review!
