Risley sat at her desk and poured over her work again. Evelyn ran into the office and plopped down on the chair in the office. Risley looked up at her and then back at her paper.
"Don't give me that look... I need to know" Evelyn said and Risley took a breath and looked up at her.
"Tit for tat...Agree?"
"Agree"
"It was a wonderful night..." She began to gushed "He picked me up and went to a fancy restaurant and ate dessert and had wine. Then he took me back to my apartment. We were saying goodbye and that is when it happened. We kiss... this firecracker kiss." Her cheeks were red and she smiles brightly. "But there was a moment right after the restaurant as we tried to get into the car where there was paparazzi taking pictures and Mark was acting funny." She paused and looked at Evelyn "He keeps telling me he is into politics and I want to know what type of politics have paparazzi following them?"
Evelyn was all smile and knew that she made a great match. "Ris, I hate to be blunt, but you do know who Mark is?"
"No," She tilted her head " He keeps telling me he is in some type of politics."
"Well, politics is part of it... Ris Mark is a Prince... you have to know this?"
"I had no idea, I must be under a rock."
Evelyn typed Mark's name into Google and then handed the phone to Risley. "Don't be upset for what he did. He did not want the paparazzi to see you because you mean something to him. He is a very private guy and almost every picture that you see here... he is posing for something there are not a lot of pictures of him and his ex-girlfriends."
Risley took her phone and scrolled through the pictures. She looked at them and smiled and Evelyn could tell even more that she was in love. "I am sure you are right," She said with a smile and slowly handed the phone back.
"So, what is your next move?"
"I am not sure..." She smiles "I want to see him again. I want to know where this path leads me"
"Then do it!" Evelyn said and smiled "You only live once," She said and grabbed her things with a smile and headed out to start her day.
Risley turned to her phone and texted Mark. "Dinner?" She placed her phone down and returned to her work. She smiled to her self and remembered what Evelyn said... 'You only live once'
Mark sat at his desk as he poured himself over his paperwork and looked down at his phone and seen a message. He looked at it and smiled at himself. Joe stood in the room and continued to talk to Mark as he listens very little.
"Sir," Joe said and waited until Mark looked up at him "We are departing tomorrow."
"I am well aware of that," Mark said a bit annoyed but knew what he was trying to tell him. "Tonight I am going to go see Risley again."
"Sir" Joe bow his head to him and waited almost like he wanted to hear more about this woman.
"There is something about her Joe. I can not get enough of her" Mark's smile grew on his face and Joe could tell it was something different than his normal antics. Mark picked up his phone and texted Risley back. "Joe, is there some free time before dinner?"
"Well, Sir, If the meeting with your mother is short you should be fine to make a stop." He paused "But you do know how your mother will be."
"Oh yes, I do," Mark said with a sigh in his voice.
Risley made sure to leave right on time this Friday. Evelyn smiled and shook her head as Risley said goodbye as she left the office. Risley went straight home and started to get dinner ready. She bounced around the apartment as she danced to the music on the TV. She was excited to have Mark coming over and could not wait to see what this path will lead.
"Markus, why are you in such a hurry?"
"Mother, we have been talking for an hour," He said to her as he continues to doodle on the paper in front of him while he was on the phone.
"I am telling you things that you need to know and get ready to complete once you are home" She began to get irritated. "What has you so preoccupied?"
"Don't start, mother, if I tell you I do not want you to start with the 20 questions"
"Oh Markus," She said and he put his pen down and leaned over his desk a little
"I found someone that I am connecting with" He paused " I am meeting her for dinner"
"Can I have a name?" She paused
"Risley Johnson" He paused "You won't find a lot about her mother. She is a normal person who works with Evelyn... you remember Tom's wife"
"Yes yes, well get going. I won't keep you any longer, but when you get home you will fill me in" She said and the two said their goodbyes and Mark dashed out of the room to get ready.
Buzzer began to ring and Risley ran to the door and hit it "Hello?"
"Its Mark," He said and she jumped and up and down a big smile came across her lips
"Come on up," She said with a smile and popped open her front door. She ran to her bedroom quickly and made sure that her hair still in place. She fixed her sundress a little and then went out to the kitchen and got the dinner plates out and placed on the kitchen bar. She also took out two beers and placed them out too. Mark knocked on the door and then slowly opened the door.
"Risley?" He called in and closed the door behind him.
"Over here in the kitchen," She said and walked over to the small hallway and he smiled. She wiped her hand on the towel and placed it on the counter. Mark carried a small box in his hand and places it down next to the towel and gently pushed Risley's hair back and kissed her softly. He felt it deep inside of him the fireworks were still there.
"Hi" He smiled and she smiled and blushed back
"Hi, I-um- need to get the chicken out" She and gently ran her hands over his chest. " I hope you like peachy chicken." She giggles a little "I was not sure what you like and don't like, but it is just lightly breaded chicken breasts, a can of peaches, and I just have to put the dinner rolls around the dish"
"It sounds really good. I hope that you were not in the kitchen so long" He smiled and looked around her small apartment. It had a defined living room and kitchen. He took the time to look around at the little details as the two started to chat.
"Dinner should be ready in about 10-15 minutes." She said and smiled " Here its nothing fancy, but it is a good beer" She handed him one and he popped it open and handed it back to her. She took it and smiled and he took the other beer and opened it and took a drink of it.
The two sat down on the couch and started to talk about everything from what has been going on to today's event. The kitchen buzzer went and Risley got up and placed her beer down next to her plate and took out the casserole pan. "Dinner is ready," She said with a smile and placed the pan between the two plates. Mark joined her over at the kitchen bar. The two sat down and continued to chat and severed dinner.
" I have to tell you a few things" Mark started and looked Risley and she smiled at him as she cut into her chicken to let it cool off.
"Okay," She said softly and focused on his eyes. She wanted to not forget the looks he had in his eyes and the feeling in her stomach.
"I am leaving the country tomorrow. I have to go back home and continue on my job there" He paused "But I want to keep in touch and see where this leads us."
"I do too," She said with a smile and her cheeks blushed
"Good," He smiled and " Also my job being a politics..." He paused longer than normal almost like he didn't want to tell her what he was "I have a large following and with that has the press following, female followers, and well the world following." He slowly spoke to Risley "I want you know I am serious about what is happening here between us and I will make this work between us." She placed her fork and knife down and tilted her head. He stood up and walked over to pick up the box and then sat back down. "I am a prince and have several countries to help run until the unfortunate event might happen when my mother passes. I will be next in line to rule." He paused a bit more "If you want to end it here. I completely understand this life is not for everyone, but I really do hope that this works out for us."
Risley smiled "Evelyn told me this morning. I had no idea that you were... well is a prince at all. It does not change how I feel about you. Whatever happens, will happen we can get through anything."
Mark's eye lit up and a smile on his lips. He pushed the box over to Risley as she took it from him and placed it on her lap and gently took off the top and placed it on the counter. She pushes past the tissue paper as Mark began to speak "I want you to know that every time I look at the night sky. I will be wishing that you are looking at them too."
"It is beautiful!" Risley was so excited as Mark took the gold necklace that had a star and a moon charm on it and places it around her neck. He gently put it on her and kisses the back of her neck her warm vanilla scent filling his nostrils with delight. Risley blushed with such delight.
The two continue to talk bearing each other souls to each other into the late night hours. Mark was already regretting having to go back home without her.
