I do not own.

"Why are you sending Rex to get the doctor?" Al asked Sam.

"I think I would be better at understanding what Fell is doing. Besides Holiday may be miffed at me… I mean Six, but they both have a soft spot for Rex." Sam explained.

They stopped walking; Gregor's office was just down the hallway.

"What are you waiting for?" Al asked when Sam did not move from his spot. Since they were on the same wavelengths, Al was still able to see Sam even though he was invisible to everyone else. It was easier than trying to follow Rex in his stealth suit.

"Shhhh." Sam hushed Al. "You're going to blow my cover."

"How can I blow your cover?" Al asked. "No one can hear me."

"But I can and I keep talking to you." Sam whispered.

"Then don't answer." Al said matter-of-factly.

"Don't ask me questions!" Sam hissed peeking around the corner.

"Touchy." Al said. "What are you doing?"

"Shhh! Making sure the coast is clear." Sam replied softly.

"But you're invisible." Al pointed out.

"I'm about to break into an office. It would be better if no one sees the door magically open." Sam snapped.

"You know you can just ask me if the coast is clear." Al shrugged.

"Fine, is the coast clear?" Sam asked exasperated.

"Yes… wait, no… I mean yes…" Al wavered while Sam bobbed in and out with each pronouncement.

"Make up your mind." He groaned.

"Okay! Clear. Go, go, go." Al waved him to move.

Sam rolled his eyes and sprinted to the next wall, flattening himself.

"They still can't see you." Al reminded him walking calmly down the hall.

Ignoring him, Sam tiptoed to Gregor's office. He placed a small box against the panel. Pressing the button, he waited as it ran through every number combination until it found the right one. The door slid opened. Sam pulled off the box and dashed in before the door closed. Pulling off his hood, he walked over to where Al stood.

"How did Rex get in?" Sam asked Al.

"I think he pushed something." Al shrugged.

Sam grumbled as he started pushing against things. "Can you be more specific?"

"Well, I didn't really see. He was just standing over here and then he was on his backside." Al said.

"Over here?" Sam stood where Al indicated. He looked around him. He didn't see anything obvious. Frustrated he leaned against the cabinets, and just like Rex he fell backwards.

"Yeah, that's it." Al stood over him.

Sam rolled over and got up. He scanned his surroundings. "Is this the right place?" He gaped at the empty room.

"The room was filled with crazy stuff before." Al insisted.

"They must have moved everything." Sam growled. "Crap, we're too late."

"You are correct, Agent Six." A stern voice from behind answered him.

Sam spun around. Holding a gun, was a grim looking man.

"Uh-oh, Sam. He's got a gun." Al stated the obvious.

Sam shot him a look before raising his hands. "Dr. Fell, I presume."

"Two for two, agent Six." Fell said sarcastically. "And they say Holiday is the genius."

"So you lured her here to help finish your research?" Sam tried to keep him talking.

"Bah, I didn't want her here! But that fool Gregor tested too soon. Some of the subjects were damaged and had to be gotten rid of. Unfortunately, Providence noticed." Fell said disdainfully.

"So why did you hire her?" Sam asked puzzled.

"Not me! Gregor! He thought her knowledge about nanites could solve some of our problems. But I knew she would be more trouble than she's worth." Fell snorted. "I warned him but he was foolish enough to try anyway. Well, now I have to clean up his mess." Fell raised his gun.

"Sam you better do something… otherwise Ziggy says there's a 99% chance you are vulture chow." Al warned.

Sam swung his arm out releasing the blade in the sleeve. It sliced the gun and injured Fell's hand. Grabbing his hand, Fell elbowed a button on the wall. Doors in the room open and metal drones rolled out.

"Have fun, Agent Six." Fell sneered while cradling his injured hand. Walking backwards, the door slid shut trapping Sam in the room with the advancing robots.

"Hurry up, kid." Six said even though Rex couldn't hear him. Six with his sharp eyes was able to keep up with Rex even though he was invisible.

Rex snuck through the hallways quickly. He reached Dr. Holiday's office. Placing his hand on the panel the door opened. There was no one inside.

"Shoot!" Rex muttered. He wondered if she had left for the day. He was conflicted. If she had left, then she was safe. On the other hand, he was hoping she was there so he could try to convince her to stop her mission. He stepped outside unsure what to do next when he heard a soft thud. Looking around, he saw one room with the lights still on. Six also heard the noise and ran through the door. He saw Rebecca on the floor with Gregor standing over her. Six lunged for him but passed through him.

"Rex!" He yelled. But he knew Rex couldn't hear him. Luckily, Rex had decided to check out the sound. The door slid opened and Gregor got a Smack Hand to the face. He flew back and hit the wall.

"Doc!" Rex pulled off his hood. He carefully lifted her head up. She remained limp. He placed his head on her chest. He could hear a faint thump in her chest but her breathing grew more labored. "Six! Six, I found Doc. She's not doing well. Six?" There was no answer from his comlink. "Come on, Doc. Stay with me." Rex muttered as he lifted her up. Making sure he had her securely, he left the room in search of Six. He knew Six was headed for Gregor's office so he went in that direction.

"Come on Sam, you took out several EVOs. You certainly can take out a few measly robots." Al said. Sam went flying into the wall. "Or you can get your tail kicked around."

Sam pushed himself up. He picked up his dropped sword. Staggering to his feet, he sliced one of the drones. "Great Sam! Now you have…" Al paused to count. "Fourteen more to go."

"Al, I need you to follow Fell. We can't let him escape." Sam sliced another drone.

"Oh right, Sam." He punched a few keys and disappeared.

Sam ducked as a drone swung at him. He did a low sweep knocking several on its back. Holding the sword like a baseball bat, he swung indiscriminately. He managed to get a few more but there were too many.

There was pounding on the other side of the wall. "Six?" It was Rex.

"Rex! I'm trapped in here…" He has tackled by a drone. They piled on him.

The wall exploded in debris. Rex appeared when the smoke cleared. Using his Smack Hands he swept the drones off Sam who then took out the few that was still on him.

"Tag! You're it!" Rex formed his Rex Ride and zipped around touching each functioning robot. At his touch, there was a flash of blue as the robot dropped to the ground.

"Good job." Sam panted. But Rex was not pleased at all.

"Six, I can't get Doc to wake up." Rex interrupted fearfully.

"What?" Sam ran out. Holiday was placed in an office chair. Sam examined her. "She was given anesthesia but she's having an allergic reaction. She's going into anaphylactic shock."

"You have to help her!" Six exclaimed.

Sam didn't even notice he was there. He looked at him. Although his face was stoic, the look in his eye and tone in his voice betrayed fear.

Sam laid her on the floor and started CPR. After several pumps on the chest and breathing, Holiday's face grew more pale.

"It's no good. I need epinephrine." Sam picked her up. "I need a medical room." He was talking to Six but Rex placed his hand on the computer. Closing his eyes, he communicated with the system.

"There's a medical office down the hall." Rex said. "Come on." Sam followed Rex as he dashed to the room. Rex was able to get the door open. Sam placed her on the medical bed. He rummaged through the cabinets, ignoring the waterfall of equipment and useless medication until he came upon the epinephrine. Grabbing it he ran to Holiday.

"Turn away Rex." He told Rex who immediately did as he was told. "Sorry about this." He addressed Six as he pulled up Holiday's skirt to reveal her thigh. He jabbed the needle into her upper thigh. Then he checked her breathing. Her breaths were still shallow but he could hear the passages clearing. "She still needs medical help but she's out of the woods now." Sam stated.

Al popped into the room. "You better hurry. Fell is getting ready to clear out of here for good." He walked through the door.

"I gotta stop Fell." Sam announced as he went for the door.

"Wait! What about Rebecca?" Six stopped him.

"She should be fine now. You can stay with her." Sam told him.

"Hey! I'm going with you." Rex thought he was talking to him.

"Uh sure." Sam agreed.

"But that's not fair! I have the right… oh, wait, what?" Rex stopped in mid tirade.

"Come on!" Sam was half-way out the room.

"Wait for me!" Rex scrambled after him.

Six was left alone with Holiday. He looked at the still form on the bed. He tried to place his hand on hers. It phased through.

"Some protector, I am." He said ruefully. "Why would you do this?"

She emitted words so soft, that Six almost missed it. He stared in shock. He was sure she said I love you.

"Move it Sam!" Al said urgently. "Last I saw, Fell was loading the last of his equipment onto the truck."

Sam gritted his teeth and picked up his pace.

"Hey, Six!" Rex formed his Rex Ride. "We can get there faster on this. Just tell me where we're going."

Sam jumped onto the back of the bike. He looked quizzically at Al.

"Get to the lowest level where the garage is." Al told him. "I'll meet you there." Al disappeared.

"Rex, we need to get to the garage in the basement." Sam told him.

"Got it!" Rex cried.

To Sam's surprise, Rex veered off to the side.

"What are you…" Sam never finished his question.

Rex rammed the emergency exit door and they began a very rough decent down the stairs.

Sam had a death grip on Rex. He was sure what he was doing was very un-Six like but at the moment he was more worried about falling off and being crushed underneath Rex's bike. When they hit the bottom with a jolt, Rex slammed into the last door bringing them into the garage.

"Sam! He's leaving!" Al pointed as a truck peeled out of the garage.

"He's getting away!" Sam pointed at the truck.

"Oh no you don't!" Rex revved his bike. Sam was almost thrown off when Rex suddenly bolted after the truck.

"Oh boy." Sam uttered as he hung on for dear life.

I really wanted this to be the last chapter but then it got long. I rewrote this several times. So I like my chapter stories to end on an even number. So since this is the 8th chapter, I'll have to write two more and then it will be done. Thanks for reading. And for those who follow my Gen Rex, I'll be working on Lost and Sidebar after I finish this as well as updating Rex vs. and Gen Next stories… at least I hope I will.
