Sam tried to keep his teeth from chattering as Rex drove recklessly, trying to chase down the truck.
"Rex, you think you can maybe not kill us?" Sam asked.
"Don't worry Six. I got this." Rex said confidently. His bike hit a bump and Sam felt his body leave the seat. "Oops, hang on Six."
Sam decided not to answer since he was busy trying to get his heart out of his throat. As Rex got closer to the truck, dark liquid poured from the bottom of the truck. When Rex hit the liquid, his bike skidded. They spun out of control while Rex fought to keep them upright. Sam just clung to his seat. Luckily, Rex was able to right the bike and keep after the truck.
"Rex, can you get me close to the side of the truck?" Sam asked.
"Sure. Hang on." Rex sped up till he was side by side with the cab of the truck.
Fell noticed and swerved into them. Rex narrowly avoided being run over. Sam took the opportunity to jump and using his shurikens stuck to the side of the truck.
"Six! Are you nuts?" Rex yelled. Then he noticed he was in the wrong lane as a car bore down on him honking. Rex was forced to pull back behind the truck.
Using the shurikens, Sam made his way to the cab of the truck.
Fell rolled down the window and fired. The magna blade flew from his sleeve and blocked the bullet, which ricochet back into the gun knocking it out of his hand. He was shocked at how fast his... or rather Six's reflexes were. They were almost super human. He must be getting comfortable in Six's skin. He decided to go on automatic and trust Six's instincts. He felt his limbs move effortlessly toward Fell. Sam could see the fear on Fells face as he got closer.
The truck drove erratically. Sam was thrown side to side. His grip slipped and he flew back. But he managed to grab the back bumper. His legs were dangerously close to the ground and the tires. One wrong move and he could lose his legs. Sam gulped but managed to pull himself out of danger. He climbed up and started his slow progress toward the cab. Fell saw he was still there. So the truck began swerving around trying to shake him off. But in his eagerness to dislodge Sam, Fell was not looking where he was going. There was a blared of a horn calling his attention that he was on the path of a truck. In a panic he veered out of the path but spiraled out of control. He hit the guardrail and started falling off the side of the cliff with Sam.

Six was still in shock over Holiday's confession. Well, maybe not quite a confession. After all did it count if you were unconscious? And was she responding to his question? He shook his head to clear it and paced around the room. Looking at the clock on the wall he realized that it's been a while since he was left alone with her.
He stuck his head out of the room. A security guard with a dog was passing on the other side of the corridor. His German Shepherd stopped and looked right at Six. It growled at him and Six quickly pulled his head back in. A noise behind him made him jump around. Through another entrance a battered looking Gregor appeared. His face twisted in rage when he spotted Holiday on the bed.
"Stay away from her." Six demanded. He tried to push him away when he passed right through him. Gritting his teeth, he watched as Gregor grabbed some chemicals. He started mixing them together. Then pulling out a syringe, Six could see what he was going to do. Without Rex or Sam, there was nothing he could do but watch the man murder the woman he loved.
As Gregor approached the bed, Six got an idea. Running into the hall he started yelling.
"Here boy, here dog! Come here you stupid animal!" Six bellowed. From down the hall came loud barking. Soon Six could see a shadow on the wall grow bigger. He started running when he was sure the dog caught sight of him. Leading the dog back to the room, he realized the problem in his plan. The dog couldn't get in. On the other side of the door there was barking, growling, and scratching. It was enough to distract Gregor who was about to stick the needle into Holiday. It was also enough to wake Holiday. She took about a second to assess her situation before she landed palm heel strike under Gregor's chin. Gregor staggered back stunned. Holiday jumped off the table and punched him in the face. Gregor crumpled to the floor with Holiday standing above him.
"That's my girl." Six smirked.
The door slid opened and the dog bounded in. He looked briefly at Six before going over to the figure on the floor. He growled and stood watch as if it knew he was the enemy. The security guard gawked at the disheveled Holiday.
"He attacked me." Holiday explained before her legs gave way. Six moved to catch her but she passed through him. Luckily, the guard rushed over to help. He radioed for back up.

Rex watched in horror as the truck plunged over the side of the cliff. He immediately made his Boogie Pack. Flying down he grabbed the bumper of the truck. He strained to keep it from falling. The bumper started pulling away from the truck.
"Six! I can't hold on!" Rex yelled.
Sam looked up at Rex then down at the cab. Rex was shocked what he did next. Sam let go of the shuriken grips. He dropped but grabbed the rear view mirror. Swinging himself up to the window, he punched out Fell. Pulling the door open, he dragged Fell out of the cab.
"Rex!" He called up before pushing off from the truck.
"Six!" Rex let go of the truck and raced to grab the two men. The truck smashed against the rocks below.
Sam reached out his hand as Rex came closer. Rex grabbed it and flew them back up to safety. Sam dropped Fell onto the ground. Looking at Rex, he nodded his thanks.
"You did good, kid."
Rex beamed. "Hey, I got this hero thing down."
Al popped up. "Geez Louis guys, give a hologram a break. You know how hard it was to keep up?"
"Sorry, Al." Sam said.
"Talking to your conscience again?" Rex asked.
"Uh, yeah. Let's go check on Holiday." Sam changed the subject.
"Oh yeah right. Maybe we should call Providence too." Rex suggested.
"Good idea, Rex. You do that." He said while picking up Fell by the scruff of his lab coat.
Rex touched his comlink. "Hey White Knight, so guess what we did?" There was a pause. He frowned. "No, we didn't blow up any buildings." There was a sudden explosion from below them. "Um, but no guarantees about vehicles, however."
Sam looked at Al. "Well?"
"Oh, right." Al looked at the device in his hand. "Ziggy says everything's gonna be fine now with the doctor. She even goes on to win the Nobel Prize in medicine and chemistry."
"Then why haven't I leapt yet?" Sam asked.
"That… I don't know." Al admitted.
"I think I may know." Sam said grimly.

Six looked at Sam incredulously. "You're still in my body, why?"
"What does Ziggy say?" Sam asked.
Al looked at the screen. "Well, everyone seems to be fine. So Ziggy doesn't know why you're still here.
"Look, I'm pretty sure the mistake I'm here to fix is that you two belong together." Sam said.
"That's ridiculous." Six insisted. "My personal life is none of your business."
"Uh, I would beg to differ." Sam looked down at his current body. "I'd say, it's very much my business. And if you want your life back, you might want to consider that you should tell her how you feel."
Six scowled at him. "Tell her what? That she should take a chance on an ex-killer mercenary with a checkered past and chunks of his memories missing? That's not exactly an enticing offer."
"Why don't you let her decide?" Sam challenged.
"You know what I think…" Al interjected.
"Not now Al!" Both men said simultaneously.
Al threw his hands up in the air. He shoved the cigar into his mouth. "Look, Six, Sam hasn't jumped which means that there is unfinished business. You should at least consider that it's a likely possibility that you should get together with Doctor Hot Legs."
"It's Dr. Holiday to you!" Six snapped.
"Yeah, yeah…Anyway, what do you have to lose? Well, besides your dignity." Al shrugged.
"Not helping, Al." Sam shook his head.
Six glowered at both of them.
"If you think, it's why you haven't leapt yet, then why don't you just go." Six asked.
Sam sighed. "Al and I talked it over. This whole situation is unprecedented. We've never had one of the people we've leapt into quite this involved before. And it didn't seem right for me to force this, if it's not what you want."
"Really?" Six frowned at them. "You decided that after kissing her?"
"That was Al actually." Sam nodded to his friend.
Six looked at him in surprise.
Al shrugged. "You shouldn't go kissing other guys' girls when the guy's right there."
"Six, you have to level with me. Is this the woman you like?" Sam asked.
Six was silent for a second before answering. "Like isn't the right word."
"Love of your life? Soul mate? OTP" Al suggested.
Both men glared at him and he held his hands up defensively.
"Unfortunately, I would have to agree with the guy wearing the gaudy shirt." Six said begrudgingly.
Al peered down at his neon pink shirt. What's wrong with it now?" He asked.
Sam ignored him and spoke to Six. "So can we do this?"
Six reluctantly nodded.
"Then let's do this." Sam took a deep and walked out of Six's room.
Al followed him. "What are you going to say?"
"I don't know yet." Sam said out of the corner of his mouth.
"Invite her to dinner." Al suggested.
"Then what?" Sam asked.
"Well, usually we have a little food, a little wine, then we go back to my place…" Al said.
"I don't think that's going to work here." Sam snapped. He stopped at the door of the lab. Sam was no longer sure of himself. He was about to open the door when they slid opened on their own.
Holiday almost walked into him.
"Oh, Six. I… I didn't see you there." She stammered.
"Holiday… I mean Rebecca…" Sam gulped. "I was… wondering… if you'd like to join me for dinner? I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Oh… uh… I… might be busy. I still have to fill out my report for White Knight." She didn't look him in the eye.
"Maybe you can spare a few minutes for coffee?" This was not going the way Sam planned.
"I don't know. I guess." She swatted at her bangs. "I'm sorry, I have to go." She side stepped him and practically ran away.
"Looks like you might be stuck here." Al muttered.
"Oh boy." Sam groaned.
So what's keeping Sam from leaping? One chapter left.
