Earlier that morning
It was all Ezra's fault, Chris mused. Not an uncommon event in and of itself, but he seemed to have rather outdone himself this time. He really wished he hadn't had that drink now too, and again that was Ezra's fault, though he himself should have thought through the likely consequences. Consequences that his bladder now thought rather imminent, but his mind kept shying away from. How the hell was he going to go to the toilet?
It was all Chris' fault, decided Ezra. He should be at home now, being late for work, not sat with his boss in complete silence. He couldn't seem to stop staring, it was he and yet it wasn't! That color green does not suit him, he thought inanely, it had looked rather good through the mirror. Somehow, Chris made it look rather frivolous and far too soft. He knew that this last thought made no sense whatsoever; it was just that somehow, his body was now darker and scarier, with no room in it for Ezra's green shirt. Chris had somehow taken ownership of him in a way he himself could not manage with Chris' own body. He'd give anything to be that confident, sitting at the table, assimilating everything that had happened with not the slightest bit of fear or doubt.
"I have to go to the toilet," Chris finally announced.
Terror crossed Ezra's or rather Chris' face. It was rather sweet actually, and he was really rather glad really to see some sign of Ezra in there. That glare on Ezra's new face had been scaring the shit out of him, he would die rather than admit this though. He'd never had the slightest fear of any of his team before this, in any situation at all.
"With my body?"
"Maybe you should come? ….I could close my eyes," he added. This might possibly be the most awkward and embarrassing moment of his life.
This was the most embarrassing moment of his life, and with a mother like Maude he'd had a few. The idea of Chris touching and looking at his equipment was terrifying; holding little Ezra as Chris went to the toilet was beyond unthinkable. He would need therapy for this, and possibly a padded room.
"You go ahead Mr Larabee," he replied faintly. As soon as Chris had left, Ezra calmly moved to the sofa, lie down, and put his head under a cushion.
"This is not happening! This is not happening! This is not happening!" He muttered.
Strangely enough, Chris' thoughts were almost parallel to Ezra's and if he'd had the option of a cushion would have doubtless been under it (in hiding!), just like Ezra. Unfortunately, Chris' required task was a bit more hands on.
Later that morning
He slammed the phone down
"Well plan A didn't work," he said slowly, "all we need do now is decide whether or not to tell them all."
"I am most certainly not gay, just because I dress well! People have no right to assume on my sexuality solely..."
"Ezra?"
"Just because I'm pickier than Buck doesn't mean…"
"EZRA"
"My god, I never knew I looked like that when I got angry," he shuddered. He must remember when he got back that the emotion was very unattractive on him. Wait. Should he be finding himself attractive in any way at the moment, wouldn't that make him gay?
"Ezra, stop self-obsessing for just one minute while we decide what we want to do."
"I would think it rather obvious what we should do," replied Ezra. "It involves putting me back in my own body and then never speaking of this event again."
"Brilliant idea, I'll get right on it. In the meantime, perhaps you could give your opinion on whether or not to tell the boys? Telling just Josiah was a dumb idea, it would never work."
"Telling Josiah was your idea," Ezra muttered.
Forty-five minutes later
They piled into the den with varying degrees of concern. For Chris to take a day off it must be serious indeed. At the sight of Chris calmly drinking a cup of coffee though they began to have doubts. They glanced at each other, and wordlessly Vin was elected spokesman.
"Everything ok Chris?" At the icy glare they drew closer together, for protection, until Buck prodded Vin forward. With a sideways glare at Buck Vin tried again,
"Cowboy?"
Ezra watched as his friends walked into the room, he didn't think they had ever looked at him like that before though. What a difference a body makes, he thought sadly. He was so busy watching them that he missed Vin's words entirely; he stared at them in panic and bizarrely they avoided eye contact and suddenly huddled together. He blinked, suddenly seeing some benefits here, for the first time in his life he had power over others. It was a heady feeling, he knew these people, and they were just like him. He knew exactly how far they would go for Chris; they'd go as far as he would. For the first time in his life, he was someone special.
Chris smiled at them, then looked like he was in pain. Josiah privately thought it was lack of practice, Nathan constipation, and the rest just thought he was playing with them.
"Chris? Everything ok buddy?" asked Buck.
"Boys" said Ezra as he entered the room. He blinked at that look from Chris, was he in pain?
"What the hells going on guys?" from Buck, he didn't appreciate this, since when had Chris and Ezra had secrets together?
Ezra meanwhile wasn't in pain; he'd just discovered to his astonishment that being the alpha wolf was rather an aphrodisiac. Though getting a hard on in Chris' body had just become the new number one in his most-embarrassing-moments-ever list.
"Gentlemen," he coughed then continued "we have a rather disturbing story for you…."
